MEDICAL SUPPORT OF RUSSIAN WORKERS IN THE LATE XIX - EARLY XX CENTURY

The process of medical defense formation of the Russian workers in the end of XIХ beginning of ХХ century is considered in the article. Methodologically the author proceeded from the fact that understanding extension of production costs phenomenon by capitalists, including medical support, comprises the most significant condition of capitalist labor market formation. Royal authority could not solve the problem of modern medical support system creation by reason of great bourgeoisie Russian opposition and departmental inconformity. But under the working class pressure entrepreneurs and the highest bureaucracy, finally, understood that production costs obligatory should include expenditures for the workers treatment and mainly this comprised the basic element of capitalist labor market formation.Thus, workers medical defense formation from labor capacity loss, peculiar for capitalist epoch, went long and complex way. The fact that was evident for specialists and progressive clerks already in 80-s of XIX century, could not come up to its implementation for long period by the reason of large Russian bourgeoisie opposition and departmental inconformity. But, eventually, under the working class pressure, the entrepreneurs and bureaucracy understood that production costs obligatory should include expenditures on medical defense and workers reward for their labor capacity loss and that this comprised the most important element of capitalist labor market formation. This was reflected in the law from 23 of June 1912 “About workers supplying in case of disease”, which, finally, realized the idea of state medical insurance of workers, taken as agenda some decades before it.

The comparative analysis of decision support system creation quantitative methods for enterprises in conditions of the uncertainty

In article it is performed comparative of research of quantitative methods for their deficiencies and the evaluations of their adequacy by the example of calculation of probability of bankruptcy. For deliverance of deficiencies of quantitative methods use of qualitative methods was offered, as example was considered method ORKLASS. Using qualitative methods would not only get rid of the deficiencies found, but also would make it possible in addition to the quantitative results get recommendations. Today there are many methods that predict the probability of any phenomena in the economic sector in the face of uncertainty. All of these methods are constructed on mathematical models using numerical values and algebraic operations on them, that is, they quantitative. The most popular and common models, used for methods of the evaluation of probability of bankruptcy, are considered following: Altman Z-score, a revised Z-Score model and Altman model adapting for the non-manufacturers. For example, was calculated probability of bankruptcy “Ukrtelecom” company and all models give inadequate results. It is possible to draw conclusion that it is necessary to think above approach to creation of a new model of forecasting, as deficiencies of quantitative methods can bring to nothing a huge scope of work. The decision of this problem can become use of qualitative methods apart from quantitative, as all deficiencies listed above are not inherent to qualitative methods, hence, at their use of the model to be deprived as well of these deficiencies. Additionally, use of qualitative methods will allow not only to give quantitative result, and possible problem solving variants, if such is.

A Creativity Support System Based on Causal Mapping

ABSTRACTTheory development is a very complex process that requires creativity and highly specialized analytical skills. This article presents a new algorithm, based on causal mapping, for assisting in the creation of qualitative theories. This algorithm is able to conjecture and prove new theorems, to test for consistency and completeness of the theory, and to derive meta-theorems comparing the different concepts in it. The use of the algorithm is exemplified in developing a theory to explain structural inertia in organizations.

We walk the line: Icons provisional appearances on virtual whiteboards trigger elaborative dialogue and creativity

Collaborative groupwork is a key creativity tool in industry. Digital Creativity Support Systems (CSS) have become a critical catalyst of distributed creative processes. Under laboratory conditions, this interaction design study uses an experiment to investigate the impact of apparent icon finishedness as a social affordance for elaborative dialogue, and enhanced creativity. The experiment examines the idea generation processes of 37 pairs of active managers using a synchronous CSS. Apparent finishedness is a purely presentational factor - it is completely separate from the actual substance of an idea. The results show that presenting ideas with icons made of sketchy natural lines with low perceived finishedness encourages elaborative dialogue and creativity. Low perceived finishedness icons functioned as a social affordance - they afforded the social behaviour of building upon each other’s ideas as well as more creative idea generation. This is the first study to quantitatively examine the perceived finishedness of icons. This study shows that minor changes in visual treatments significantly impact creative processes and outcomes. As co-constructive interaction is central to many collaborative behaviours across working and learning, this study has clear implications for the subtle encouragement of co-construction in computer-mediated communication.

Tangled string for sequence visualization as fruit of ideas in Innovators Marketplace on Data Jackets

This paper presents a result of cases of Innovators Marketplace on Data Jackets (IMDJ), a market-like creativity support system for providers, users, and analysts of data. In the cases dealt here, a method for visualization was created as a result of IMDJ, responding to the presented requirements f or data analysis. This created method called Tangled String (TS) visualizes given data including a sequence of items. TS separates the sequence into tangled ``pills'' that are sub-sequences corresponding to parts where the topic is uncertain or various topics are involved, and ``wires'' corresponding to transitions from/to pills. Based on this separation, the importance of items are computed based on their positions in the overall string. This design of visualization of a sequence fits the requirement presented in IMDJ. Furthermore, the performance of TS is shown by experimental cases, one for the text of discourse log and the other for the sensor-based log of human's movement in office. These cases show TS meets requirements in IMDJ, that reflects the social demands for reusing data via analysis.

Creativity support systems: A systematic mapping study

As part of the innovation process, creativity has become a critical dimension for organizations that wish to maintain their competitiveness. In order to foster the creativity potential within organizations, processes and systems need to be designed and integrated so that all stakeholders can participate in a coordinated and timely fashion, and despite the various dispersion levels that may separate them. Although many tools are already available on the market or being tested, a significant gap still exists between those products and the creativity process that they are supposed to support. To truly respond to the need for creativity in a distributed environment, it is suggested that the entire process be re-examined and understood so that future Creativity Support Systems can fulfil real needs. This paper is a systematic mapping study of the literature on existing digital tools dedicated to creativity. A thorough examination of over 49 digital tools is carried out, providing the action channel for emerging Creativity Support Systems that would better support collaboration diversity throughout the creative process.

Models of maritime safety for development of navigation support systems

Navigation support systems are part of modern maritime transportation chain where larger and larger vessels are handled in ports. Support systems for sea navigation must meet certain criteria for access, integrity, accuracy and other factors. Modelling of safety criteria for technical creation of support systems like PNS (Pilot Navigation System) or LDS (Laser Docking System) consists of several stages both conceptual, and real time experimental. Even basic systems must be designed and developed in manner where assumed safety factors are met.

The Effects of IT-Enabled Cognitive Stimulation Tools on Creative Problem Solving: A Dual Pathway to Creativity

We investigate the effectiveness of three types of IT-enabled cognitive stimulation tools for enhancing creative problem solving: mind mappers, process guides, and stimuli providers. Based on the dual pathway to creativity models, the authors examine the extent to which these tools are capable of stimulating individuals to explore their knowledge base more deeply (i.e., the persistence pathway) and more broadly (i.e., the flexibility pathway) and, hence, help to produce more novel ideas. In a laboratory study with business students, they find that, as compared to unaided individuals, IT-enabled stimuli providers enhance individual creativity more than process guides and mind mappers. As for the underlying creative process, stimuli providers push individuals to explore their knowledge base more deeply and more broadly, leading to more novel but, unexpectedly, also more useful ideas. The reported findings may facilitate the development of creativity support systems and their assignment to individuals and tasks.

An Empirical Study of Efficacy of International Executive Development Programmes of NI-MSME

National Institute for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (NI-MSME) is an organization of the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, Government of India. NI-MSME operates with the objective of value addition to micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) through training, research, consultancy, extension and solution providing services. Its role encompasses every facet of organization building from the formulation, implementation of policies and strategies needed to provide consultancy assistance in key areas of MSMEs, integrating the development of all sectors of the economy. NI-MSME promotes entrepreneurship and has extended beyond the Indian shores touching almost all the developing economies around the world. It has been widely acclaimed as the pivotal organization to bring together participants from abroad for training in various facades of enterprise development. The Institute's programs are refined from time to time taking into account the progress and potential of the developing world, which is keen to achieve faster rates of economic growth. The paper orients at ascertaining the efficacy of the International executive development programs organized in the year 2014, structured for various professionals in the developing countries and sponsored by the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India. The respondents include public sector employees, IAS officers, IES officers, young engineers and industrialists from the state of Kerala. The aspirations of the trainees were recorded through a questionnaire distributed to the trainees. The paper orients at making major recommendations for the future programs of NI-SME to improve the efficacy of the programmes by identifying the preferred industry for small and medium entrepreneurial ventures with the help of a structured questionnaire and envisages the creation of support systems required for skill development of those aspiring to set up a SME. An independent Sample T Test is done to identify whether there is a significant difference in the Trainers' opinion and the trainees' opinion about the required domain knowledge. A significant difference in the opinion suggests a pertinent need for an awareness campaign on the importance of International executive development programmes organized by National Institute for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises. A Computational Cognitive Model of User Applying Creativity Technique in Creativity Support Systems

Abstract Numerous creativity techniques have been purposed and applied in creativity support system. Because most creativity techniques are used informally and hardly represented formally in computer, it becomes very difficult to build the computational cognitive model of user applying those techniques. However the model is necessary for creativity support systems to detect or predict the change of user's cognitive state in time and make some adaption to avoid inhibiting creativity of user. In this paper we introduce extension creative idea generation method which has the characteristics of formalization and systematization. The method can be represented by extension rules which provide the precondition to build computational cognitive model of user in creativity support systems. The computational cognitive model of user learning in applying extension creative idea generation method is presented through experiments. The experimental results show how and when the user will develop the application skill of creativity technique and inhibit his creativity.

Specialisation is king: creativity support systems for service concept development

Service concept development is an important step in developing new services. A quality criterion for new service concepts is creativity, that is, the degree to which a service is novel and useful. This study focuses on the role of creativity support systems (CSS) in developing creative service concepts. We analyse how service organisations assess the IT they use in service concept development with regard to three distinct tool properties (playful, supportive of comprehension, or task-specific) and the impact of these properties on service concept creativity and user satisfaction. To answer corresponding research questions we conducted a survey of 425 German service companies. Results suggest that the CSS of 20-30% of the service organisations do not implement the tool properties. We found that, in general, all three CSS design properties increase user satisfaction and the creative quality of new service concepts, while task-specific functionality (specialisation) is particularly important.

Designing Individual Creativity Support Systems

Individual creativity support systems have been developed to facilitate creative work. However, the designs typically consult very few creativity theories. In addition, they usually neglect problem definition and convergent thinking even though there is strong evidence that the whole creative process should be supported. Based on the literature on creativity theories, a new set of principles is proposed to guide the design of individual creativity support systems. Six propositions are made based on the principles, and ways of testing them are discussed. The article provides both an overview of the current literature of individual creativity support systems and a discussion of directions for future research.

Harnessing the power of social media for creativity support: A three-pronged approach

The article reviews past approaches to creativity support, differentiating between computer centric and human centric approaches. It identifies shortcomings of past creativity support systems, to propose a new three-pronged approach for creativity support through social media. The approach suggests drawing on collective intelligence for need identification, idea generation, and idea evaluation. Focusing on innovation in business, the article demonstrates how knowledge and creativity can be extracted from social media to facilitate all three activities.

Context-Aware Creativity Support for Corporate Open Innovation

This article discusses how creativity in corporate Open Innovation processes can be supported by IT, especially regarding the situative long- and short-term social context of users. Therefore, the authors first define and formalize a model for creative processes. From evidence gained through qualitative interviews with managers from companies of the German ITC sector, they derive insights on creative situations and contexts as well as the current state of IT support for creativity in these companies. On the basis of these insights and guided by the design science methodology, the paper shows the development of a social-software based creativity support system and infrastructure. Furthermore, the authors discuss how appropriate IT tools can incorporate situative and social contexts for creativity support. Examples are a tabletop-based interface for co-located creativity and a web-based, mobile-enabled interface for distributed creativity. As a partial evaluation of the ideas, the article concludes with an experimental comparison of different interfaces to a non-IT scenario.
