The Relationship between Thinking Styles with Creativity of Students in the Master of Educational Sciences Islamic Azad University of Isfahan

The present study aims to examine the relationship between Thinking Styles with Creativity of Students, master's degree of education the University of Isfahan; (khorasgan branch) was implemented. Materials and methods in this study was descriptive of a correlation type.The community was included postgraduate students of education 404 University of khorasgan branch of Isfahan in 2013- 2014 has been in the research of the simple random sampling method was used, and using the formula for distribution of the questionnaire number 202 Cochran.Tools for collecting information on this research was the first questionnaire includes two thinking styles that provide its standard of Harrison and Bramson, respectively. The standard questionnaire was preparation Randsip creativity. To determine the reliability of questionnaires from the coefficient of cronbach's alpha is creative thinking style 0.81constructivism (combination), in the style of thinking, idealism, 0.85, in the style of thinking pragmatism 0.87, the new analysis on the thinking style in the style of thinking0.81. Realism 0.76, respectively. Data were analyzed using SPSS-19 software was analysis. The results indicated that more samples of people-oriented and idealistic analysis of thinking styles and preferred the realism and less of the product-oriented thinking styles (combination) and action-oriented, were used.

The basic aim of this study is to research the relationships between strategic thinking, critical thinking and creative thinking. In this study, primarily the theoritical rudiments given here about this thinking styles, and then researched whether or relationship between them and its direction if any, by the help of scales. In the empiric phase of this study, a questionnaire was conducted to explore the existence of three different thinking ability, on 224 managers working in Turkish Incorporated Company. Data which contained this phase are interpreted by the statistical analyzes that fit structure of survey, in order to testhypotheses directing survey. It is confirmed that critical and creative thinking styles are meaningfully and strongly effecting strategic thinking in paralel with positive relationships between strategic, critical and creative thinking styles, when findings are examined.

Bu çalışmanın temel amacı; stratejik, eleştirel ve yaratıcı düşünce arasındaki ilişkilerin incelenmesidir. Çalışmada, öncelikle söz konusu düşünce tipleri hakkında temel teorik bilgiler verilmiş, sonrasında ölçekler yardımıyla bu üç düşünce biçimi arasında önemli düzeyde bir ilişkinin var olup olmadığı, var ise bu ilişkinin hangi yönde olduğu araştırılmıştır.Çalışmanın araştırma kısmında ise bir Türk Anonim Ortaklığı bünyesinde çalışan 224 yöneticiye bilgisayar ortamında, üç farklı düşünsel yeteneğin varlığını araştıran bir anket uygulanmıştır. Elde edilen veriler, araştırmaya yön veren hipotezleri test etmek üzere araştırmanın yapısına uygun istatistiksel analizler yoluyla yorumlanmıştır. Ortaya çıkan bulgular incelendiğinde ise stratejik düşünce ile eleştirel ve yaratıcı düşünce biçimleri arasında, pozitif yönde bir ilişkinin var olduğu, buna bağlı olarak eleştirel ve yaratıcı düşüncenin stratejik düşünceyi anlamlı ve güçlü bir biçimde etkilediği tespit edilmiştir.

The Relationship between Thinking Styles and Emotional Intelligence: An Exploratory Study

In this study we explore the association between thinking styles and emotional intelligence. Participants ( N = 309) completed Sternberg's Thinking Styles Inventory (TSI) and the Schutte Self-Report Inventory (SSRI) for emotional intelligence. Statistical analysis of the scores of the participants on the two instruments indicates that there is an overlap between the TSI and the SSRI, and suggests that they measure similar constructs. The results show that thinking styles are significant predictors of emotional intelligence and that participants who have high emotional intelligence prefer more complex and creative thinking styles.

Relationship Between Attention Level and Thinking Skills of a Group of Malaysian Student Teachers

The aim of this survey study was to identify the relationships among paying attention on learning stimuli ability, thinking styles and gender of a group of student teachers (N=147; 49 male, 98 female) from the Kuala Lumpur Special Teacher Training Institute. Two instruments were employed to collect quantitative data from the respondents. The Attention Level Test was used to collect data concerning subjects’ attention levels on verbal stimuli, while the instrument YCRAETIVE-CRITICALS Test was used to collect data of thinking styles of the subjects. Significant results of the one-way ANOVA analyses indicated that lower attention level subjects obtained higher creative thinking style scores [Creative thinking style: High attention level group: M=13.61, SD=3.97; low attention level group: M=21.55, SD=6.51; F(1,145)=55.40, p< .001]. Other results show that male scored higher on creative thinking and lower attention level compared to the female. The findings reveal that the creative male student teachers have less ability of paying attentions to learning stimuli compared to their female counterparts. Since the recent education system in Malaysia emphasizes on logical thinking, rote learning and memorization strategies, the findings of this study can be referred as a case of alternative explanation to the high dropout rate and poor performance of the male students in the higher education institutions in Malaysia.

Rorschach Interpretation With High-Ability Adolescent Females: Psychopathology or Creative Thinking?

Highly intelligent and creative persons have long posed interpretation difficulties for users of the Rorschach Inkblot Test. This study examined Exner's (1993) Schizophrenia, Depression, and Coping Deficit indices as adjustment measures in a sample of 43 female adolescents enrolled in an early college entrance program and a comparison group of 19 girls enrolled in public high school gifted programs. Contrary to conventional interpretation, higher scores on the Rorschach Schizophrenia Index among the accelerants were correlated with healthy emotional adjustment on both the California Psychological Inventory and the Self-Perception Profile for Adolescents (SPPA). Further analyses offered support for the hypothesis that among accelerants, elevated scores on the Rorschach constellations did not indicate psychopathology, but rather their creative thinking style.

Individualized Educational Approach to Fieldwork in a Community Mental Health Center

Social work educators have voiced differing views about the best preparation for practice. Some feel that two types of social workers are needed: one to help people in trouble and one to work toward changing society. Other educators advise that programs be aimed at developing general skills. The authors discovered that by concentrating on producing truly educated individuals this conflict was avoided and graduating interns were prepared for a multitude of careers. This individualized educational approach involved the interns in all educational decisions, which helped develop a mature, creative thinking style.
