Training on Creating Song Content with the Theme of Religious Moderation for Middle School Students in Jayapura Regency

Training to create song content on the theme of religious moderation for junior high school students in Jayapura Regency aims to instill the values of religious moderation and equip the younger generation with social responsibility in maintaining harmony. By using demonstration and question and answer methods, this training not only facilitates understanding of religious moderation but also involves students in the creative process of song creation. The results of the training show that music has effective emotional power in building solidarity and instilling awareness of the importance of interfaith dialogue and respect for differences. Students not only learn to compose songs, but also develop collaboration and message delivery skills through digital media, making them content producers capable of disseminating messages of religious moderation to a wider community. In conclusion, this training proves that a creative approach to music is an effective way to educate and involve students in spreading the values of religious moderation. By including local and technological elements, this training makes the moderation message more relevant and relatable. This plays an important role in forming a generation that is not only academically intelligent but also has a strong character in respecting diversity, ready to face social and religious challenges in the future.

Training to Make Simple Songs with the Theme of Religious Moderation for Middle School Students in Jayapura Regency

Community Service activities carried out by lecturers at the STAKPN Sentani Church Music Department focused on training in creating songs with the theme of religious moderation for junior high school students in Jayapura Regency. Considering the importance of instilling the values of tolerance and harmony among the younger generation, this training teaches basic song creation techniques while emphasizing the role of music as a medium for conveying social messages. Through demonstration and question and answer methods, students are actively involved in the creative process, where they learn to combine technical elements of music with relevant moral messages. The results of this training show an increase in students' awareness of the importance of living in harmony amidst religious diversity. The songs created by students function as a peace campaign tool, conveying messages of peace and tolerance that are easy to understand. Thus, this activity not only improves students' musical skills, but also forms characters who are empathetic and open to differences, making them agents of change in a pluralistic society. Through this initiative, it is hoped that a younger generation will be formed that is more critical and plays an active role in promoting harmony in their environment.

Introducing songs to children can hone their sensitivity, literacy skills, and language diversity. Introducing children's songs through their creation based on local wisdom can also be a form of preservation of their culture. The PKM objective of this training program is for elementary school teachers in Sukadana, North Kayong, to have basic skills in making children's songs based on the identity and characteristics of the region. The training methods used are lectures, questions and answers, demonstrations, practices, simulations, and reflections. The results of the PKM children's song creation training program are that there are approximately 15 elementary school teachers who are enthusiastic about making children's songs with the rules and musical elements that have been taught. In addition, various themes of children's songs based on local wisdom have been explicitly and implicitly written in song lyrics for the 2–5 grade range.

Emigrant Songs of Ukrainians in the Context of Scientific Research of Robert Klymasz (Canada)

The purpose of the research is to analyse the genre and thematic, musical component and peculiarities of the transformation of emigrant songs from the collections of folk songs Introduction to the Ukrainian-Canadian Immigrant Folklore Cycle and Ukrainian Folk Songs from the Prairies by R. Klimasz (Canada). The research methodology is based on the principles of objectivity, systematicity and historicism, which is supported by the historical and cultural approach. The musicological, textual, stylistic, and contextual analyses are applied, which reveal the musical, literary, historical and cultural dimensions of the evolution of emigrant songs, and also allow us to identify the transformation of emigrant songs in new socio-cultural conditions. The scientific novelty of the research lies in the introduction into scientific circulation of the collections of sheet music of the Canadian-Ukrainian folklorist R. Klymasz, which contain samples of emigrant songs of Ukrainians in Canada as authentic musical folklore of Ukrainian immigrants in the context of studying the transformation of the musical folklore tradition of Ukrainians in the North American diaspora. Conclusions. The emigrant songs collected and published by R. Klymash, created among overseas emigrants, are part of the cultural heritage of the Ukrainian diaspora in North America, which consists of epic stories, song lyrics, and humorous and satirical dance songs. The folk song materials clearly demonstrate the current themes, melodic, rhythmic and harmonic aspects of the musical component, and the contexts of performance. The musical and poetic style of the songs expresses the peculiarities of the music of the western region of Ukraine with its respective linguistic dialects. Examples of emigrant folklore reflect the diachronic development of the song culture of Ukrainians in the diaspora from the creation of emigrant songs as authentic examples of immigrant folklore with gradual modification to complete assimilation into another cultural environment, which is expressed in the change of content of the works, the use of macaronic elements in the texts, and later – melodic borrowings.

Participatory online music creation as a crisis response: A qualitative case study

Online participatory music creation provided an opportunity to build the public’s psychological resilience during the COVID-19 lockdown measures that led to widespread negative emotions on a societal level. This study explored how online participation in music creation as a crisis response contributes to the public’s mental health. The study employed a qualitative method that combines network ethnography and multimodal performance discourse analysis to conduct participatory observation and content analysis of people’s activities related to the song “Wuhan Ya” (the Wuhan Kids) and its participatory creation. The results showed that “Wuhan Ya” and its creation process demonstrated a music phenomenon centered on local identity and characterized by collective participation. The study proposed a theoretical framework to explain how this music phenomenon promotes mental health. In the context of song creation and dissemination, the public’s psychological resilience to crises is bolstered by engaging in emotional contagion, behavioral responses, and social support processes.

Review and Prospect of “Micro-Credit” Courses in Higher Education SPROUT Project (HESP)

We delved into the challenges encountered during the implementation of micro-credit courses, specifically “Application of the Multiple Intelligences Theory in Designing Teaching Aids” and “Children's Poetry and Song Creation” in 2020. The objective of this study was a meticulous analysis of course effectiveness, focusing on student satisfaction and feedback. In the “Application of the Multiple Intelligences Theory in Designing Teaching Aids” course, 42% of the 50 students rated satisfaction at 5, 44% at 4, and 14% at 3. In the “Children’s Poetry and Song Creation” course, 53% of the 48 students rated satisfaction at 5, 33% at 4, and 14% at 3. Feedback from the students who attended “Application of the Multiple Intelligences Theory in Designing Teaching Aids” highlighted satisfaction with the course content and the instructor’s conscientiousness. However, several students suggested reducing the volume of teaching aids. For “Children’s Poetry and Song Creation”, students acknowledged the instructor’s diligence but recommended more emphasis on “teaching aid creation. Challenges included a disparity between student preferences and departmental focus, non-cross-disciplinary course restrictions, limited promotion leading to a narrow student pool, budget constraints affecting instructional materials, and short, sporadic course durations hindering effective assessment.

 This study aims to increase the motivation and learning participation of students in learning PAK and BP class 3 UPTD SD Negeri Angkasa Penfui. This research is a classroom action research conducted in two cycles, each cycle consisting of one meeting. In the implementation of cycle I, it was carried out using innovative media in the form of learning videos and song creations in the order of creation. Cycle II was carried out using innovative media in the form of learning videos, creation of song creation sequences and joy lot games. Data collection techniques through observation sheets of students' motivation and learning participation during the learning process and documentation of activities. The results showed that: (1) The learning motivation of students in class 3 PAK and BP learning by using innovative media in the first cycle was 2.4 in the sufficient category and in the second cycle it increased to 3.7 in the good category; (2) The learning participation of students in class 3 PAK and BP learning by using innovative media in cycle I was 2.3 categories sufficient and cycle II increased to 3.6 categories good. Thus the use of innovative media in the form of learning videos, creation of song creations and joy lot games succeeded in increasing the motivation and learning participation of students in learning PAK and BP class 3 UPTD SD Negeri Angkasa Penfui.
 
 
 

The lure of siren's song: Exploring the influence of destination song perception on potential tourists' travel intentions.

Tourism destinations are the important research objects of tourism geography. And destination songs, as a media of tourism destination image, play a very important role in it. Based on the SOR model, this study constructs a theoretical relationship between destination song perception and tourism intention. A total of 317 valid questionnaires were collected from potential tourists through the Internet and SPSS v.26.0 and AMOS v.24.0 were used for data processing to verify these theories. The study found that destination song perception has a positive effect on travel intention, emotion induced, and destination image perception; Emotion induced has a positive effect on destination image perception and travel intention; Destination image perception has a positive effect on travel intention. Emotion induced and destination image play a mediating role individually and play a chain mediating role together in the effect of destination song perception on travel intention, and there is no significant difference between different mediating effects. This study attempts to explain the influence of destination songs on the travel intentions of potential tourists, and might be used for tourism destination marketing, especially in creation, promotion and management of destination songs.

Validitas dan Reliabilitas Instrumen Critical Thinking pada Pemanfaatan Media SIGUPIS di Sekolah Dasar

This development research aims to determine the validity and reliability of the critical thinking instrument for fifth grade elementary school students on the use of traditional game-based SIGUPIS media (Elementary Social Learning Song Creation). The assessment instrument developed was in the form of a questionnaire. The research subjects consisted of 3 validators and 20 fifth grade elementary school students. Data collection was carried out using a questionnaire or questionnaire technique. The data collected is in the form of data on the validity and reliability of critical thinking instruments. Data on the development of critical thinking instruments obtained through the validity test were analyzed with Aiken's v, while the data from the reliability test were analyzed with Kappa Statistics using SPSS version 16. The results showed that the validity test by the validator obtained the results of the ten statements used belonging to the high category so that the instrument is suitable for use. The reliability test shows that the alpha value is 0.967 so that the reliability of the instrument is included in the very high category. Based on the results of this study, the questionnaire instrument to find out the critical thinking of fifth grade elementary school students in utilizing SIGUPIS media based on traditional games is feasible to use.

Fadjar 'Sopsan' Creativity in the Creation of Tembang Banyumasan

Artists and creativity are inseparable. Artists in creativity have the challenge of transforming an abstract idea into a practical one in order to create a good creation. Fadjar Praptono, a musician from Banyumas, creates based on the Encouragment of responses to enviromental situatons by paying attention to the suitability contents of the song lyrics with the existing social, political and cultural situations. This research discusses Fadjar's creative process in creating tembang Banyumasan that have a distinctive Banyumas character. This research uses a descriptive qualitative method that aims to understand the object studied in more depth. This research uses a case study design, which is focuses on exploration of finite system. The data collection techniques used are observation, interviews, and literacy studies. The interview was conducted directly with the main informant Fadjar 'Sopsan'. The study results prove that Fadjar went through several continuous stages in the creation of Banyumasan songs, including creative ideas, cultural knowledge, experience, work concepts, and creative act.

Transmission of Yugu Folk Song Knowledge in Sunan County, Gansu Province, China

The qualitative research method is used in this study to investigate ways to transmit Yugu folk song knowledge in Sunan County, Gansu Province, China. The area was selected in Sunan County, Gansu Province, China. The fieldwork method is mainly used for collecting data, together with the information from the document. The study results are as follows: The origins of the Yugu people are not single but multiple. They are a new ethnic community formed by the integration of the ancient Uighurs and the ancient Mongolian tribes. The Yugu people are currently the best-preserved ethnic group in the world’s Ancient Turkic language, due to the characteristics of the language and the geomorphological characteristics of the Yugu area, making the Yugu music unique and different from the music of the surrounding Han and other ethnic groups. The development of Yugu folk songs can be divided into five periods: 1) the Mobei period before 840 AD and the production period of Yugu ancestral folk songs; 2) from 840 AD to the beginning of the 16th century, the gradual development of the art of Hui folk songs; 3) from the beginning of the 16th century to 1953, the excavation period of traditional folk songs of the Yugu people; 4) from 1953 to 1990, the prolific period of Yugu folk song creation; 5) since 1990, the trough period of traditional Yugu folk songs and the development period of newly created songs.

Investigation of the Historical Development and Knowledge Guidelines of Contemporary Guangxi Vocal Music in China

This study used the qualitative research method. The objectives were to: 1) investigate the historical development of Guangxi vocal music in China. 2) Presenting guidelines for studying knowledge of contemporary Guangxi vocal music in China. There are three main informants. The research process includes literature reviews, field investigation methods, and interview methodologies. The study's results are as follows: 1) Since the beginning of the century, the "Nanning International Folk Song Festival" has been a new starting place for the creation of Guangxi vocal works. The "Guangxi Folk Music and Dance Symposium" laid the groundwork for Guangxi's new century vocal music compositions. The "China-ASEAN Music Week" was a success, and it has tremendously fostered song creation in Guangxi, particularly vocal music development with rich content and different styles. 2) Taking students to the exhibition of the development history of vocal music creation in Guangxi and studying the important collections of vocal music creation in different periods since the new period is the best way for students to understand the development trend of vocal music creation in Guangxi. Make students conduct fieldwork, collect, and analyze ethnic folk songs. Conduct a field study, engage with the musical elements in daily life, and experience the melody with regional characteristics. To promote music creation, an open, creative attitude and constantly innovative creative methods are required.

The Application of Liangshan Yi Folk Song Elements in Popular Songwriting

As a kind of traditional Chinese music, Liangshan Yi folk songs have a unique musical style and cultural connotation. Starting from an overview of Liangshan Yi folk songs, this paper discusses the relationship between popular songs and Liangshan Yi folk songs, and analyzes the significance of Liangshan Yi folk song elements in popular songwriting. At the same time, this paper proposes some application strategies to better apply the elements of Liangshan Yi folk songs to the creation of popular songs. Through the research of this paper, it can provide some practical suggestions for popular song creators on the application of Liangshan Yi folk song elements, and have certain reference significance for promoting Liangshan Yi folk song culture.

Taleng Phai: A Chakrabhand Puppet Play: Characteristics of Performance Literature

Abstract This research examines literary techniques used in the adaptation of Lilit Taleng Phai to a Chakrabhand puppet play and analyzes characteristics of Taleng Phai: A Chakrabhand Puppet Play as performance literature. The study reveals that four literary techniques were used to make this adaptation: 1) adaptation of the content; 2) the characters; 3) the pattern; and 4) the presentation. These adaptations contribute to the characteristics of puppet play as performance literature through five conventions: 1) use of an invocation for puppet performance; 2) inclusion of puppet songs; 3) insertion of jokes; 4) method of delivery of puppets to the stage; and 5) not ending with the death of a character. Importantly, the play includes three innovations of puppet performance: 1) the creation of a puppet play from historical literature; 2) the creation of an atmosphere in a puppet performance; and 3) the creation of songs and a singing format.

Preschool children’s understanding of the musical concept of tempo by engaging in strategies from mathematical generalisation

ABSTRACT Teaching music often focuses on developing musical concepts, through comparisons and discriminations. This paper contributes to the discussion on concept development in music through recognition of common elements in a situation and a shift from a local to a general level, considering theoretical approaches to mathematical generalisation. It sets to explore preschool children’s understanding of tempo and its use in new musical situations. The research involved a musical intervention in six preschool classrooms. Critical incidences from focus group discussions and non-participant observation recorded children’s understanding of tempo from their musical actions, drawings, responses and reflection to teacher questions. The findings highlight that children could go beyond the specific content of the activities and focus on the basic characteristics of tempo, integrating them into their song creations. A teaching approach oriented to generalisation through concept development can assist teachers to elaborate musical content and realise students’ level of understanding.

The Cultural Representation and Evolution of Military Songs : Military Song Creation after the Government Moved to Taiwan

<p>「軍歌」是被許多人傳唱的時代戰歌，不僅僅是集體經驗的複製，也塑造及反映出臺灣的歷史脈絡與社會運作的軌跡。本研究試從音樂解讀的視角，以中華民國中央政府遷臺後之傳唱軍歌作為研究主體，並將軍歌依創作時期、歌詞內容及其所呈現的文化表徵區分為沿用大陸時期（1912～1949）、反共復國期（1950～1971）、儲備發展期（1972～1986）、解嚴民主期（1987～2005）、全民國防期（2006～迄今）。根據研究，軍歌流變之影響，除了與社會現況及社會變遷有關，亦隨著兩岸關係、國防政策的轉型呈現出不一樣的樣貌。從軍歌各個創作時期的內容以及近年的發展來看，軍歌的創作內涵和臺灣社會的變遷有著絕對的關聯；隨著民主、開放及各種文化相互激盪的社會來臨，軍歌嘗試從傳統典範中破繭而出，融入更多元素與想像來回應社會的多元性，但不變的是，軍歌傳達理念、揭示歷史的手法及其既有的社會功能，都讓軍歌以文化載體的姿態持續記錄著軍中與社會的形貌。</p> <p> </p><p>“Military songs” in Taiwan is a battle hymn of the times that is sung by many people. It is not only a copy of collective experience, but also shapes and reflects Taiwan’s historical context and social operations. According to the period when the military song was created, it includes the continuing to mainland china period (1912-1949), the anti-communist recovery period (1950-1971), the comprehensive development period (1972-1986), the lifting of the martial law and democracy period (1987-2005), and the national defense period (2006 to present). The military song is different with the cross-strait relations and national defense policy. According to this conclusion, the creative connotation of military songs has an absolute influence on the transformations of Taiwanese society. The modern military songs try to break out of the traditional paradigm and incorporate more imagination to respond to the diversity of society. However, the way military songs convey certain ideas still has social functions, which is unchanged, and it continues to record the appearance of the military and society.</p> <p> </p>
