physical education and sports play a big role in the modern world - this is not only a way of healing and psychophysical preparation of a person, but also of his harmonious, versatile development. Elective courses in physical education and sports at universities help to involve students in this area and meet their needs, which is possible due to the openness of the discipline – it can use many means and methods, including innovative ones. The purpose of the work is to evaluate the impact of elective physical education classes on the formation of skills and knowledge in the discipline and the psychophysical preparedness of students using regular and individualized classes. To achieve the goal, a study was conducted: Stage 1 – a survey of students in order to identify their motives and the most interesting types of physical activity for them; Stage 2 – organization of classes for the control and experimental groups with assessment of the development of skills and knowledge in the discipline and physical fitness; Stage 3 – assessment of the impact of classes on the psycho-emotional state of students through questionnaires. At the first stage, it was revealed that for female students the dominant motive is body shaping and health improvement, and the most popular types of activity are aerobics, yoga and stretching. At the second stage, it was revealed that the more individualized the classes are, the more effect can be obtained from them for the formation of competencies in discipline and physical fitness of students, however, ordinary physical education classes bring quite a lot of benefits. At the third stage, a positive effect of classes on the psycho-emotional state was revealed. Thus, the complex positive impact of classes in elective courses in physical education and sports on students is noted: their involvement in classes, satisfaction of personal goals and needs, development of psychophysical abilities, formation of competencies in the discipline, and others. физическая культура и спорт играют большую роль в современном мире – это не только путь оздоровления и психофизической подготовки человека, но и его гармоничного разностороннего развития. Элективные курсы по физической культуре и спорту в вузах помогают вовлечь студентов в эту сферу, удовлетворить их потребности, что возможно благодаря открытости дисциплины – в ней может быть использовано множество средств и методов, в том числе инновационных. Цель работы – оценить влияние занятий по элективной физической культуре на формирование навыков и знаний по дисциплине и психофизическую подготовленность студентов с применением обычных и индивидуализированных занятий. Для достижения цели было проведено исследование: 1 этап – опрос студентов с целью выявления их мотивов и наиболее интересных для них видов физической активности; 2 этап – организация занятий контрольной и экспериментальной группы с оценкой сформированности навыков и знаний по дисциплине и физической подготовленности; 3 этап – оценка влияния занятий на психоэмоциональное состояние студентов путём анкетирования. На первом этапе выявлено, что для студентов-девушек доминирующим мотивов является формирование фигуры и оздоровление, а наиболее востребованными видами активности являются аэробика, йога и стретчинг. На втором этапе выявлено, что чем более индивидуализированными являются занятия, тем больше эффекта от них можно получить для формирования компетенций по дисциплине и физической подготовленности студентов, однако и обычные занятия физической культурой приносят достаточно пользы. На третьем этапе выявлено положительное влияние занятий на психоэмоциональное состояние. Таким образом отмечается комплексное положительное воздействие занятий по элективным курсам по физической культуре и спорту на студентов: их привлечение к занятиям, удовлетворение личных целей и потребностей, развитие психофизических способностей, формирование компетенций по дисциплине и другие.
