Objectives The purposes of this study were to investigate the relationships between positive self-concept and stress level among beauty industry workers.
 Methods The survey was conducted by 318 beauty industry workers. The collected data was analyzed through the SPSS 25 program. Mediating effects were investigated using the Process Macre of Hayes (Model 4).
 Results The results of this study were as follows: First, this was a significant effect of positive self-concept on stress level. Second, positive self-concept was significantly associated with three different types of stress coping strategies. Lastly, stress coping strategy using avoidance had significant negative effect on stress level while other strategies were not significant.
 Conclusions Through this study, it was found that stress coping strategies through avoidance were mediated in the relationship between positive self-concept and stress response. In other words, it was confirmed that avoiding stress response changes the direction of impact on stress response in the relationship between positive self-concept and stress response of beauty industry workers, so intervention to reduce avoidance and increase positive self-concept is necessary at the same time.
