The article is devoted to the disclosure of the organizational and legal principles of the prosecutor’s activity in combating crimes related to arson of military vehicles. In connection with the need to disclose the purpose of this scientific work, it is proposed to consider the specifics of the criminal-legal qualification of such acts, to determine the algorithm of organization of the prosecutor’s procedural management of the pretrial investigation of crimes of this category, and to provide practical advice on countering such a criminal-legal phenomenon. Considerable attention was paid to the analysis and generalization of studied real criminal proceedings about crimes of this category, which made it possible to identify the main problematic issues of prosecutorial and investigative activity in this area, including: the issue of primary qualification, the definition of the pretrial investigation body, the tactics and methods of organizing pretrial procedural management by the prosecutor investigation. On specific examples, attention is focused on the need to carefully study the subjective side of related, in this case, crimes that involve criminal liability for the intentional destruction (damage) of someone else’s property (in the context of this article – a military vehicle), committed by arson, as well as obstructing the legal activities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Certain methodical recommendations are given in this regard. In addition to suggestions for improving the prosecutor’s criminal and criminal-procedural activities, an effective algorithm of organizational and coordination measures of the prosecutor’s office to combat crimes related to arson of military vehicles was proposed in this direction. In particular, the creation of interdepartmental working groups with the involvement of representatives of law enforcement agencies (prosecutors’ offices, the National Police, the Security Service of Ukraine, the Military Law and Order Service), as well as state executive and local self-government bodies. The essence, purpose, forms and methods of their activity are disclosed.
