Industrial partnership as the basis of innovative development of business networks at the regional level

Methods. The results were obtained with the application of methods: scientific abstraction – when establishing the essence of the concepts of «industrial partnership» and «industrial park»; theoretical analysis and generalization method – when studying industrial partnership as the basis of innovative development of business networks at the regional level. Results. The multivariate definitions of «industrial partnership» and «industrial park» by various economists were analyzed. It was established that the basis of industrial partnership is the cooperation of business networks (industrial parks, clusters), focused on the introduction of new technologies and products for their innovative development at the regional level. The structure of industrial parks of Ukraine was studied in terms of quantitative and qualitative parameters. Novelty. The author's definition of the concepts of «industrial partnership» and «industrial park» is proposed. The conditions that contribute to the formation and successful functioning of clusters in industrial parks are highlighted. It has been proven that industrial partnership is a driver of innovative development of the regional economy. Practical value is that the results of the study can be used to develop effective measures to stimulate the innovative development of regions through industrial partnerships and cluster initiatives. Factors and conditions that contribute to the successful functioning of industrial parks and clusters have been identified, which, in turn, contributes to the strengthening of the regional economy and the creation of a competitive environment capable of attracting new investments and positively influencing the socio-economic development of regions

Cooperative learning‐based practical formation‐containment control with prescribed performance for heterogeneous clusters of UAV/USV

SummaryIn this paper, a new approach for formation‐containment control with prescribed performances is introduced for heterogeneous autonomous vehicles involving a cluster of leader unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and follower unmanned surface vessels (USVs). We introduce a two‐layer distributed control system: The upper layer focuses on guiding the UAVs to form a scalable lattice while synchronizing their movement along a predefined path, and the second layer guides the USVs to enter the convex hull formed by the UAVs, ensuring collision‐free operation with static/dynamic objects. To prevent collisions and ensure lattice formation, a set of well‐defined bump functions are utilized in the design of the backstepping control algorithm. Managing virtual controls, we incorporate a nonlinear dynamic surface control (NDSC), while a universal barrier function enhances the convergence of formation tracking errors. Furthermore, each USV employs a cooperative adaptive learning neural network to handle uncertainties in heterogeneous vehicle models. Utilizing the Lyapunov theorem, the stability of the formation‐containment of UAV/USV is achieved, and all signals in the formation‐containment systems are semiglobal uniform ultimate bounded (SGUUB). A simulation example showcases the effectiveness of our proposed approach, highlighting contributions in collision avoidance, synchronization speed, and adaptive learning. Our work advances the heterogeneous formation‐containment literature towards more realistic scenarios with safety‐critical considerations amidst multiple layers of uncertainties and unknown parameters.

The service partner is MI Muhammadiyah Sidoharjo (MIM Plasan). The condition of school among: student achievement in academic and non-academic activities still needs to be optimized, teachers have pedagogic competencies that still need to be improved, teachers' abilities in mastering technology to support learning need to be developed, do not yet have a school website, and communication networks and partnerships need to be strengthened. The purpose of this service is to rebuild the image of MIM Plasan so as to gain public trust. The methods carried out are champion school workshops, learning development workshops, IT integration workshops in learning, school web and social media development, and strengthening cooperation networks. The results obtained are: the formation of teams and strategies for champion schools, the development of more comprehensive teacher competencies in compiling kit and integrating them with IT, as well as social media and websites that are more updated regularly. The school feels a direct impact in service activities.

Social and Economic Development of Rural Border Area in Malaka and Belu Regencies (Border of Indonesia-Timor Leste)

Indonesia and Timor Leste have the same land area; these countries are located on Timor Island. It encourages interaction between regions, which can have positive or negative impacts. The adverse effects of the two countries' interaction must be minimized by formulating a strategy for developing border areas, especially village areas that directly border neighboring countries. This research aims to identify rural border communities' social and economic interactions and formulate development strategies for rural border areas in the Malaka and Belu Regencies. This research uses a qualitative research approach. The data collected includes a description of the social and cultural interactions carried out by rural communities and factual conditions that constitute strengths, weaknesses, threats, and opportunities in developing rural border areas. The analysis results explain that the interactions between rural borders include socio-cultural and economic interactions in trade activities. The strategy for developing rural border areas is to increase defense and security and maintain social cohesion in border areas; strengthen local potential in each village; encourage rural economic activities (BUMDes or Cooperatives) to grow and develop, and export rustic products; form clusters in rural border areas with the same potential; strengthening cooperation networks with higher education, the private sector and non-governmental institutions in improving and developing rural border areas; strengthening rural economic activities with rural border markets; increasing rural community participation in border area maintenance efforts; as well as improving access to basic infrastructure, in particular electricity, roads, water and telecommunications.

A bibliometric analysis of blue carbon (1993–2023): evolution of research hot topics and trends

Blue carbon refers to the carbon fixed in marine ecosystems such as mangroves, salt marshes, and seagrass beds. Considered a treasure house for capturing and storing carbon dioxide, it can alleviate environmental issues linked to climate change and positively influence the environments where people live. Thus, to clarify the hotspots and development trends of blue carbon research, bibliometric analysis incorporating ScientoPy and VOSviewer software were used to quantitatively analyze 4,604 blue carbon publications from Web of Science and Scopus databases between 1993 and 2023. The results indicate a rapidly growing number of published studies on blue carbon, with blue carbon research being multifaceted and gradually becoming an interdisciplinary and international topic. This study on blue carbon, which is based on keyword clustering analysis, comprises three stages. The analysis of the strength of the cooperative connections between scholars in various countries who have published work on blue carbon. found that the cooperation networks of developed countries are strong and those of developing countries are relatively weak. Quantitative trend analysis reveals a growing focus on the restoration and conservation of blue carbon ecosystems, with remote sensing being the predominant technology used in the blue carbon research field in recent years. In blue carbon research, increasing carbon sequestration capacity, climate change mitigation, and carbon sequestration in macroalgae remain potential hotspots for research and development.

Toward precision and efficiency: a bibliometric study on robotic-assisted unicompartmental knee arthroplasty research and development

Aim: With the increasing prevalence of knee diseases affecting human health and quality of life, it is essential to explore more advanced surgical assistive technologies to improve the precision, safety, and success rate of unilateral knee replacement surgery. This study aims to conduct a comprehensive bibliometric analysis of robotic-assisted unicompartmental knee arthroplasty (r-UKA) to understand its current status, trends, and future directions. Methods: Retrieve articles about r-UKA in the Web of Science Core Collection (WOSCC) database. Data from 128 selected articles, including author information, publication details, citations, and evidence level, were analyzed. Statistical analyses and data visualizations explored publication and citation trends, research interests, core author groups, and cooperative networks. Results: Interest in r-UKA research has grown, particularly after 2013, which is evident from increased publications and citations. The United States is the largest contributor, followed by the United Kingdom, both of which have prominent medical research institutions and universities actively involved in r-UKA research. Frequent keywords such as “alignment”, “accuracy”, “revision”, and “survivorship” highlight the focus on surgical precision, implant longevity, and patient outcomes. Conclusion: Robotic-assisted unicompartmental knee arthroplasty has gained significant attention, promising improved surgical precision and patient outcomes. Collaboration between researchers and medical institutions globally has driven progress in this field. However, long-term outcomes and clinical efficacy compared to traditional techniques require further investigation. As robotic technology evolves, its application in knee replacement surgery holds potential for better therapeutic effects and advancements toward more accurate, safe, and efficient procedures, benefiting patients and advancing unicompartmental knee arthroplasty (UKA).

Game theory in the classroom: low cooperative relationships identify bullying patterns in elementary schools

Cooperation and bullying have a subtle yet important interaction that influences the social dynamics in elementary school classrooms. We investigate this interplay in a large sample of 1112 students across 47 public primary classrooms in Chile. Using a video game interface to create a dyadic, non-anonymous social dilemma, we map the cooperative social network within each classroom. In addition, we collect peer nomination data and use the Illinois Bullying Scale to categorize students as bullies, victims, or bully victims. Our results indicate that low levels of received cooperation significantly increase the likelihood of students being identified with the dual role of both bully and victim, known as the bully-victim profile. This negative relationship remains robust even after controlling for demographic and classroom context variables using multilevel regression models and is consistent when employing causal inference techniques such as statistical matching. We propose that the relationship between received cooperation and the bully-victim profile stems from the capacity of received cooperation to capture key factors influencing social relationships among students, such as popularity, prosociality, GPA, and aggressiveness. Our study contributes to the understanding of human interaction in educational settings and it offers a new framework for targeted interventions in primary education, providing insights for future educational policies and practices.

K-filter-based distributed adaptive bipartite tracking for nonlinear multi-agent systems with unknown control direction

This paper investigates K-filter-based distributed adaptive output-feedback bipartite tracking problem for multi-agent systems with unknown control direction. The agents are partitioned into two groups, where agents belonging to the same group are cooperative while agents belonging to the distinct group are competitive. Firstly, the unmeasurable state variables of the system under unknown control direction are estimated through K-filters. Then, a neighbourhood error is introduced to transform a structurally balanced network into a cooperative network. Based on K-filters, neighbourhood error, Nussbaum-type functions and dynamic surface control, a distributed adaptive output-feedback control protocol is designed to achieve the bipartite tracking. It is shown that all signals in the resulting closed-loop systems are semi-global bounded and the output of each agent can track the reference signal provided that the network is structurally balanced and contains a directed spanning tree. Finally, a numerical example is given to verify the effectiveness of the proposed method.

Inter-organisational cooperation networks: a strategy for the knowledge-sharing and performance of higher education institutions

PurposeThis study aims to present how an inter-organisational cooperation network can contribute to the competitive performance of higher education institutions (HEI) and also to students’ academic performance. The intention is also to examine how knowledge-sharing processes should develop to meet the needs of maintaining cooperation networks.Design/methodology/approachThis study adopts a qualitative approach, using the case study (network) method. The data were collected through semi-structured interviews, group interviews and documentary analysis. The convenience sampling technique was used. Data analysis was carried out through a data triangulation process.FindingsThe general benefits arising from cooperation networks are encouraging. The HEIs improved not only through creating an environment that supports learning processes and knowledge-sharing efficiently, but also through cooperation between students and lecturers.Practical implicationsThe cooperation network experience studied here can be used by other universities or HEIs as an approach/strategy to launch a cooperation initiative in order to increase levels of knowledge, learning, innovation and competitiveness. The results also help university or HEI leaders to understand the importance of academic cooperation networks, letting them form innovative teaching strategies that stimulate academic and competitive performance, as well as economic growth.Originality/valueThe central elements of originality lie in advancing a new vision of cooperation networks, creating a new, innovative framework that considers the dimensions presented from the theoretical and practical point of view. The framework helps to understand what is necessary for network cooperation to develop and create value for HEIs. Combining different perspectives of the cooperation network inevitably represents a significant innovation.

The rules of multiplayer cooperation in networks of communities.

Community organisation permeates both social and biological complex systems. To study its interplay with behaviour emergence, we model mobile structured populations with multiplayer interactions. We derive general analytical methods for evolutionary dynamics under high home fidelity when populations self-organise into networks of asymptotically isolated communities. In this limit, community organisation dominates over the network structure and emerging behaviour is independent of network topology. We obtain the rules of multiplayer cooperation in networks of communities for different types of social dilemmas. The success of cooperation is a result of the benefits shared among communal cooperators outperforming the benefits reaped by defectors in mixed communities. Under weak selection, cooperation can evolve and be stable for any size (Q) and number (M) of communities if the reward-to-cost ratio (V/K) of public goods is higher than a critical value. Community organisation is a solid mechanism for sustaining the evolution of cooperation under public goods dilemmas, particularly when populations are organised into a higher number of smaller communities. Contrary to public goods dilemmas relating to production, the multiplayer Hawk-Dove (HD) dilemma is a commons dilemma focusing on the fair consumption of preexisting resources. This game yields mixed results but tends to favour cooperation under larger communities, highlighting that the two types of social dilemmas might lead to solid differences in the behaviour adopted under community structure.

Meta-algorithmic optimized power allocation in cybertwin-based sixth generation cooperative communication system

The sixth-generation (6G) communication paradigm, powered by an Internet of Everything (IoE), promises unprecedented data density and transformative applications across various sectors like smart cities, healthcare, transportation, and agriculture. This study explores an emerging hybrid cybertwin-enabled 6G cooperative network architecture, focusing on secrecy capacity analysis. The approach involves Base Stations (BS) employing Non-Orthogonal Multiple Access (NOMA) techniques to transmit data to cybertwin hosts and servers via direct wireless links with Nakagami-m fading. Additionally, a Power Line Communication (PLC) link, subjected to Rayleigh fading, supplements the wireless link for communication between cybertwin hosts and servers. Bio-meta-heuristic optimization algorithms are introduced to optimize NOMA power allocation, specifically Grey Wolf Optimization (GWO) and a hybrid of Grey Wolf Optimization with Krill Herd Optimization (KHO). The system's capability to ensure secure data transmission while mitigating eavesdropping risks is assessed through thorough secrecy capacity and throughput analyses. Simulation results highlight the efficacy of the hybrid GWO-KHO-based NOMA power allocation scheme, showcasing superior efficiency over traditional methods. This study contributes novel insights into optimized power allocation and efficiency in cybertwin-enabled 6G networks, underscoring the significance of hybrid optimization approaches in future communication systems.

Achieving zero-outage secrecy in short packet cooperative networks

Zero-outage secrecy in short packet is critical in many applications ranging from civilians to military as it guarantees no information leakage to eavesdropper with one hundred percent for any circumstance. This paper aims to consider a novel transmission strategy to achieve zero-outage secrecy in short packet cooperative networks. The zero-outage capacity is derived to guarantee secrecy such that eavesdropper's intercept probability is always at 0.5. The results show that the zero-outage secrecy throughput increases with increasing signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) regardless how powerful eavesdropper is. This indicates the efficient implement of the proposed scheme in practical scenarios when eavesdropper is located close to transmitter or has unlimited number of antenna. The results also show that there exists an optimum number of antenna to maximize energy efficiency.

Current Status of Chronic Intestinal Failure Management in Adults.

Chronic intestinal failure (CIF) is a heterogeneous disease that affects pediatric and adult populations worldwide and requires complex multidisciplinary management. In recent years, many advances in intravenous supplementation support, surgical techniques, pharmacological management, and intestinal transplants have been published. Based on these advances, international societies have published multiple recommendations and guidelines for the management of these patients. The purpose of this paper is to show the differences that currently exist between the recommendations (ideal life) and the experiences published by different programs around the world. A review of the literature in PubMed from 1980 to 2024 was carried out using the following terms: intestinal failure, CIF, home parenteral nutrition, short bowel syndrome, chronic intestinal pseudo-obstruction, intestinal transplant, enterohormones, and glucagon-like peptide-2. There is a difference between what is recommended in the guidelines and consensus and what is applied in real life. Most of the world's countries are not able to offer all of the steps needed to treat this pathology. The development of cooperative networks between countries is necessary to ensure access to comprehensive treatment for most patients on all continents, but especially in low-income countries.

Revitalization of Rice Terrace Area through Urban-Rural Exchange Design Approach in Oyama Senmaida, Kamogawa, Japan

Since 1960, the area of rice terraces in Japan has begun to decrease drastically due to a lack of human resources. Oyama Senmaida is a rice terrace area that successfully managed a revitalization program through an urban-rural exchange approach and was included among Japan's 100 top rice terraces. Based on the achievements of this organization, this research was carried out to understand development patterns from the design development aspect to the evaluation of programs through direct interviews with staff at Oyama Senmaida and surveys from the activities held. From the results of this research, it can be concluded that the revitalization design strategies carried out by Oyama Senmaida include raising the foundation of design ideas through local and external potential and dividing activity programs into preservation and new program development. Regarding program details, there are three categories of activities, namely ownership and trust, workshops and experience, and other programs. In the context of evaluation, supporting elements in producing a sustainable revitalization program, including building internal and external cooperation networks; planning income and funds from the government or private sector for development; and targeting market participants in the surrounding area and building aspects of publication through newspapers and online media.

Secure communication with a multiple-antennas untrusted relay in presence of randomly distributed adversary jammers

In this article, we examine the achievable secrecy rate of a cooperative network including one source, one destination, and one untrusted amplify-and-forward relay, where randomly located adversary jammers attempt to disrupt the wireless communications. The relay has multiple antennas, while the other nodes have a single antenna. The adversary jammers are placed following a Poisson Point Process (PPP) and aim to interfere with the untrusted relay's channel. The relay employs maximal-ratio combining (MRC) to mitigate the jammers' impact and retransmits the signal to the destination using maximum ratio transmission (MRT). To prevent the relay from capturing the message, the destination injects pre-known artificial noise, known as destination-assisted cooperative jamming. We present a closed-form solution for the Ergodic secrecy rate (ESR) of the system with Rayleigh fading channels. An optimization problem for maximizing the secrecy rate is also designed, resulting in a closed-form formula for optimal power allocation (OPA) between the source and destination.

Critical features of ecosystem practice empowering industrial sustainability transformation

AbstractThe pursuit of a sustainable industry is facilitated by the evolution of diverse cooperative networks. There is a limited understanding of how industrial actors can collectively foster the continuity in learning required to address wicked problems of sustainability. This study explores how industry stakeholders collectively address this wicked problem by fostering innovation in ecosystems and identifies the critical features of an ecosystem practice that supports empowerment in evolving multi‐actor network settings. Employing an abductive approach, we integrate insights from the innovation literature with analyses of three empirical industrial ecosystem cases to enhance understanding of the internal dynamics inherent in collaborative innovation. This study elucidates the critical features of ecosystem practice, underscoring four key characteristics essential for empowerment. These characteristics hinge on the adept balance of the four identified critical features throughout the process of continuous innovating in ecosystems. We argue that such practices serve as catalysts for cross‐industry innovation, thus expediting transformation. This research contributes to understanding the self‐organizing dynamics needed for sustained learning in evolving collaboration settings where actors, their motivations and their roles change. It also advances innovation theory by illustrating how wicked problems can be collectively addressed through the continuous exploration and exploitation processes of ecosystems.

Lesion-Decoupling-Based Segmentation With Large-Scale Colon and Esophageal Datasets for Early Cancer Diagnosis.

Lesions of early cancers often show flat, small, and isochromatic characteristics in medical endoscopy images, which are difficult to be captured. By analyzing the differences between the internal and external features of the lesion area, we propose a lesion-decoupling-based segmentation (LDS) network for assisting early cancer diagnosis. We introduce a plug-and-play module called self-sampling similar feature disentangling module (FDM) to obtain accurate lesion boundaries. Then, we propose a feature separation loss (FSL) function to separate pathological features from normal ones. Moreover, since physicians make diagnoses with multimodal data, we propose a multimodal cooperative segmentation network with two different modal images as input: white-light images (WLIs) and narrowband images (NBIs). Our FDM and FSL show a good performance for both single-modal and multimodal segmentations. Extensive experiments on five backbones prove that our FDM and FSL can be easily applied to different backbones for a significant lesion segmentation accuracy improvement, and the maximum increase of mean Intersection over Union (mIoU) is 4.58. For colonoscopy, we can achieve up to mIoU of 91.49 on our Dataset A and 84.41 on the three public datasets. For esophagoscopy, mIoU of 64.32 is best achieved on the WLI dataset and 66.31 on the NBI dataset.

A Bibliometric Analysis of Metabolic Reprogramming in the Tumor Microenvironment From 2003 to 2022.

Despite considerable progress in cancer immunotherapy, it is not available for many patients. Resistance to immune checkpoint blockers arises from the intricate interactions between cancer and its microenvironment. Metabolic reprogramming in tumor and immune cells in the tumor microenvironment (TME) influences anti-tumor immune responses by remodeling the immune microenvironment. Metabolic reprogramming has emerged as an important hallmark of tumorigenesis. However, few studies have focused on the TME and metabolic reprogramming. Therefore, we aimed to explore the current research status and popular topics in TME-related metabolic reprogramming over a 20 years using a bibliometric approach. Studies focusing on metabolic reprogramming and TME were searched using the Web of Science Core Collection database. Bibliometric and visual analyses of the articles and reviews were performed using Bibliometrix, VOSviewer, and CiteSpace. In total, 4726 articles published between 2003 and 2022 were selected. The number of publications and citations has increased annually. Cooperation network analysis indicated that the United States holds the foremost position in metabolic reprogramming and TME research with the highest volume of publications and citations, thus exerting the greatest influence. Among these institutions, Fudan University displayed the highest level of productivity. Frontiers in Immunology showed the highest degree of productivity in this field. Ho Ping-Chih made the most article contributions, and Pearce Edward J. was the most co-cited author. Four clusters were obtained after a cluster analysis of the authors' keywords: TME, metabolic reprogramming, immunometabolism, and immunity. Immunometabolism, glycolysis, immune cells, and tumor-associated macrophages are relatively recent keywords that have attracted increasing attention. A comprehensive landscape of advancements in metabolic reprogramming and the TME was evaluated, which provided crucial information for scholars to further advance this promising field. Further research should explore new topics related to immunometabolism in the TME using a transdisciplinary approach.
