Application of PID algorithm in temperature control of pig houses farmers' mental health from the perspective of social ecological system and its implications for agricultural production efficiency

This study investigates the application of PID algorithm-based temperature control systems in pig house environmental management and its impact on agricultural production efficiency. Through field experiments conducted at Dongshun Aquaculture Ecological Development Co., Ltd. in Nanping City, Fujian Province, we evaluated the system's effectiveness in energy efficiency, production performance, and animal health. Results show that the PID system achieved 18.5% energy savings, a 9% increase in daily weight gain, and a 7.1% improvement in feed conversion ratio. Additionally, meat quality scores improved by 8.3%, and disease incidence rates decreased by 21.9%. Economic analysis indicates that the system begins to generate a positive return on investment in the second year, with cumulative benefits reaching 192% within five years. These findings highlight the potential of PID temperature control systems in improving pork production efficiency and sustainability, offering a valuable solution for modern pig farming.

Application and optimisation of intelligent control system for home robots

Abstract. As a significant part of the smart home, intelligent home robots can provide a variety of convenient home services such as automatic cleaning, elderly care, entertainment interaction, etc., which are highly valued and favoured by the majority of home users, and the market scale is expanding. However, the design and optimization of the control system represents a crucial technical challenge to truly realize the intelligence and autonomy of home robots. This paper presents a comprehensive analysis of the design and optimization of automatic control systems for intelligent home robots, which aims to improve the performance and user experience of intelligent home robots and better meet the needs of families. Through collection and analysis of the research on domestic robots and their control technology ,the core technical elements of the control system are summarized and refined, and the hardware structure and software framework of the control system are analyzed. The research results provide valuable insights for improving the performance and capabilities of home robot control systems to better meet the diverse needs and expectations of home users. These innovations provide a solid foundation for advancing the development of intelligent robots in the home. Future trends in control systems may include enhanced perceptual capabilities and decision-making intelligence to enable robots to better understand and meet the needs of home users.

Attitude Control System for Quadrotor Using Robust Monte Carlo Model Predictive Control

Monte Carlo Model Predictive Control (MCMPC) is a kind of non-linear Model Predictive Control (MPC) that determines control inputs using the Monte Carlo method. The Monte Carlo method used in MCMPC can handle discontinuous phenomena, and there have been reports of its application in control systems for quadrotors, where the objective is to maintain the stability of the attitude during collisions. However, as with conventional MPC, concerns remain about control performance degradation due to modeling errors and external disturbances such as unexpected wind gusts. In this study, we propose a novel Robust Monte Carlo Model Predictive Control (RMCMPC), which improves the robustness of MCMPC by considering the hypersurface known from the Sliding Mode Control (SMC) theory. The proposed RMCMPC is applied to a quadrotor attitude control system, and its effectiveness is validated through numerical simulations.

THE SOFTWARE IMPLEMENTATION FOR AUTOMATIC GENERATION OF PETRI NETS

Context. The important task was solved during this scientific research related to specific development and verification of thefundamental suitability of the software application that provides visualization of the automatic synthesis of Petri nets while setting upthe multi-level control systems. This task is current because the for the first time the integration of means of discrete-continuous networksfrom the DC-Net environment in the Labview environment is realized through the implementation of automatic synthesis ofPetri nets. This makes it possible to automate the processes of synthesis for the control algorithms based on the development of appropriateintelligent systems. Objective. The purpose of the scientific work is to minimize the time and to automatize process in synthesis of the control algorithmsby integrating the means of discrete-continuous networks and implementing the principles of automatic synthesis of Petri nets. Method. This scientific article proposes the principle for automatic formation of Petri nets based on logical algorithm for classifyingvarious uncorrected algorithms. The multilayer neural network in the Labview 2009 software environment was implemented torealize the appropriate algorithm. This artificial neural network provides algorithm formation, automatic synthesis and operation ofPetri nets. The article is devoted to the study of operating principle of the software application implementing such automatic synthesisof Petri nets while setting up the multi-level control systems. Results. A number of experiments were performed on the classification of algorithms and formation of Petri nets based on theready-made software application. The control system was automatically set up based on the Labview 2009 environment applicationfor the determined object. As a result of these experiments we have determined the fundamental suitability of the software application for the synthesis ofsome multi-level automatic control systems. It was also shown during these experiments that all mismatch signals in the system anddeviations from the ratios of values controlled variables are reduced to zero. All parameters of the control systems settings werenoted after the multi-level system setting procedure on the front panel of the virtual stand. Conclusions. The task related to the software application development based on the Labview 2009 environment which providesthe automatic synthesis of Petri nets was solved in this scientific work. Thus the method of automatic synthesis of Petri nets andtechnology for developing certain algorithms based on the functioning of the artificial neural network was further developed.

Artificial Neural Network-Based Data-Driven Parameter Estimation Approach: Applications in PMDC Motors

The optimal performance of direct current (DC) motors is intrinsically linked to their mathematical models’ precision and their controllers’ effectiveness. However, the limited availability of motor characteristic information poses significant challenges to achieving accurate modeling and robust control. This study introduces an approach employing artificial neural networks (ANNs) to estimate critical DC motor parameters by defining practical constraints that simplify the estimation process. A mathematical model was introduced for optimal parameter estimation, and two advanced learning algorithms were proposed to efficiently train the ANN. The performance of the algorithms was thoroughly analyzed using metrics such as the mean squared error, epoch count, and execution time to ensure the reliability of dynamic priority arbitration and data integrity. Dynamic priority arbitration involves automatically assigning tasks in real-time depending on their relevance for smooth operations, whereas data integrity ensures that information remains accurate, consistent, and reliable throughout the entire process. The ANN-based estimator successfully predicts electromechanical and electrical characteristics, such as back-EMF, moment of inertia, viscous friction coefficient, armature inductance, and armature resistance. Compared to conventional methods, which are often resource-intensive and time-consuming, the proposed solution offers superior accuracy, significantly reduced estimation time, and lower computational costs. The simulation results validated the effectiveness of the proposed ANN under diverse real-world operating conditions, making it a powerful tool for enhancing DC motor performance with practical applications in industrial automation and control systems.

Design of a tooth-shaped magnetorheological brake with multiple coils

This research presents an optimized design for a tooth-shaped magnetorheological brake (MRB) with multiple coils. The MRB configuration consists of a disk immersed in magnetorheological fluid (MRF), where four coils act as electromagnets when an electric current is applied. The energized coils induce the alignment of suspended particles in the MRF, forming a chain-like structure that increases the fluid's viscosity. This rapid, strong, and controllable phenomenon enables the MRB to find applications in haptic systems, tension control, and industrial braking systems. To analyze the electromagnetic behavior of the brake, Finite Element Method (FEM) simulations are conducted using ANSYS APDL, and the optimization process is performed utilizing ANSYS Workbench software. The software provides optimized geometries for the brake, resulting in significant improvements in desired performance aspects compared to prior designs, etc.

Objective: Improve the comprehensive performance indicators such as accuracy, speed, and stability of synchronous control of hydraulic cylinders Methods: In the process of synchronous movement, the typical hardware structure and control methods and algorithm strategies of the double hydraulic cylinder are analyzed in detail, and the basic principle of common hydraulic double cylinder synchronous control is summarized. Results: Through the comprehensive analysis of papers and patent documents related to the synchronous control of hydraulic twin cylinders, these papers and patented technologies study the control algorithm, and apply the new technology to the synchronous control of electro-hydraulic servo hydraulic cylinders to improve its comprehensive performance indicators such as work accuracy, speed and stability. Conclusion: Referring to the development trajectory of control algorithms in this regard, combined with new control theory and new technology, many achievements can be applied and researched in hydraulic cylinder synchronous control, and better develop the synchronous control system when double hydraulic cylinders and more hydraulic cylinders work together. By collating and analyzing the relevant research results, the two-cylinder synchronous control technology is comprehensively evaluated and prospected, which provides a valuable reference for the research and application in this field.

The Internal and External Factors in Prevention of Procurement Fraud in Goods and Services Based on E-Procurement

The process of goods and services procurement within the government environment still has vulnerabilities to fraud, which necessitates proper handling. This study aims to identify the factors that can influence efforts to prevent fraud in the procurement of goods and services using an e-procurement system. The data for this research was obtained through the distribution of questionnaires to employees at the Procurement Services Unit (ULP) and the Regional Financial and Asset Management Agency (BPKAD) Office of Dompu Regency. The sampling method used in this study is purposive sampling. Furthermore, the research data were tested using multiple regression analysis. This study demonstrates that the variables of technology utilization, e-procurement, internal control systems, organizational culture, employee ethics, and religiosity can influence the prevention of fraud in the procurement of goods and services. The research findings can serve as a reference for evaluating the use of information technology through e-procurement and the application of internal control systems for optimal results. Additionally, it is important to consider human resources, specifically employees, in maintaining organizational culture, good ethics, and religious values as a foundation for actions in the workplace to avoid various deviant or unlawful behaviors.

Improving Performance of Cluster Heads Selection in DEC Protocol Using K-Means Algorithm for WSN.

Wireless sensor networks (WSN) have found more and more applications in remote control and monitoring systems. Energy management in the network is crucial because all nodes in the WSN are energy constrained. Therefore, the design and implementation of WSN protocols that reduce energy depletion in the network is still an open scientific problem. In this paper, we propose a new clustering protocol that combines DEC (deterministic energy-efficient clustering) protocol with K-means clustering, called DEC-KM (deterministic energy-efficient clustering protocol with K-means). DEC is a very energy-efficient clustering protocol that outperforms its predecessors, such as LEACH and SEP. K-means ensures more effective clustering and shorter data transmission distances within the network. The shorter distances improve the network's lifetime and stability and reduce power consumption. Additional heuristic rules in DEC-KM ensure improved cluster head selection, taking into account node energy level and position and minimising the risk of premature cluster head exhaustion. The simulation results for the DEC-KM protocol using MATLAB show that cluster heads have shorter distances to nodes in cluster areas than for the original DEC protocol. The proposed protocol ensures reduced energy consumption, outperforms the standard DEC, and extends the stability period and lifetime of the network.

Piezoelectric stick-slip actuators (PSSAs) utilize sliding friction between the mover and stator to convert and transmit motion. However, the phenomenon of backward displacement often hinders the output performance of PSSAs. This paper proposes a method to mitigate backward displacement and enhance output performance by modifying the overall flexibility of the actuator. The key idea of this approach is to propose a novel flexible hinge structure and apply it to PSSA. Numerical calculations and finite element analysis confirm that the flexibility and output performance of the PSSA are significantly improved. The method's feasibility is supported by comparing experiments. The experimental results show that under the same locking force, the optimal excitation frequency of perforated Elliptical Flexure Hinge (EFH) is significantly lower than the non-perforated EFH and the speed is increased over 53 %. Furthermore, the PSSA has a maximum load capacity of 190 g, which is 31.7 times its own weight (6 g). The proposed PSSA can provide valuable insights for its application in precision motion control systems in the foreseeable future.

Occurrence of Uncultured Legionella spp. in Treated Wastewater Effluent and Its Impact on Human Health (SCA.Re.S Project).

Wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs) provide optimal conditions for the environmental spread of Legionella. As part of the Evaluation of Sanitary Risk Related to the Discharge of Wastewater to the Ground (SCA.Re.S) project, this study was conducted to evaluate the presence of Legionella in WWTP effluent and in groundwater samples collected from two wells located downstream from the plant. The samples were analyzed to determine the concentrations of Legionella spp using the standard culture-based method and molecular techniques, followed by genomic sequencing analysis. Legionella was detected only with the molecular methods (except in one sample of effluent positive for L. pneumophila serogroup 6), which showed viable Legionella pneumophila and L. non-pneumophila through the use of free DNA removal solution in both the effluent and groundwater, with concentrations that progressively decreased downstream from the plant. Viable L. pneumophila appeared to be slightly more concentrated in warm months. However, no significant differences (p ≥ 0.05) in concentrations between cold and warm months were observed. A genotypic analysis characterized the species present in the samples and found that uncultured Legionella spp, as yet undefined, constituted the prevalent species in all the samples (range 77.15-83.17%). WWTPs play an important role in the hygienic and sanitary quality of groundwater for different uses. The application of Legionella control systems during the purification of effluents is warranted to prevent possible outbreaks of legionellosis.

A hybrid of the fractional Vieta–Lucas functions and its application in constrained fractional optimal control systems containing delay

In this investigation, a novel framework is devised to study an important category of fractional-order systems. The fractional Vieta–Lucas functions (FVLFs) and a hybrid of the block-pulse functions (BPFs) with the mentioned functions are introduced. The advantages of the proposed basis are clarified and a novel integral operator is further constructed based on the Riemann–Liouville integral operator. An innovative spectral collocation methodology is introduced. By utilizing the new fractional basis, the principal problem is changed into a simple optimization one containing unspecified parameters. The developed discretization scheme is robust and produces very satisfactory results for constrained complex physical systems containing delays. Four benchmark problems are examined to verify the capability of the method. The experimental outputs certify the exactness and usefulness of the new methodology.

Psychometric evaluation of high-resolution electrotactile interface for conveying 3D spatial information

This study presents a detailed psychometric evaluation of a novel high-resolution electrotactile interface, which is developed to provide users with 3D spatial information and facilitate enhanced interaction with a Supernumerary Robotic Limb (SRL). The research introduces a novel electrotactile system that employs a multi-pad electrode configuration on the thigh, aimed at delivering intuitive feedback to users about the position of the SRL in a three-dimensional space. The interface's effectiveness was assessed through a series of psychometric tests, including static spatial discrimination, target-reaching with spatial feedback, frequency discrimination, and combined spatial/frequency modulation. The key findings demonstrate that participants could differentiate between 30 electrode pads with an average success rate of 62.7% when they were activated statically, while in the dynamic target-reaching task, the success rate increased to 88.1%. Frequency discrimination tests further revealed that four frequency levels could be distinguished with 86.0% success rate in single-pad feedback while the performance decreased to 74.3% in multi-pad distributed feedback. Finaly, in the closed-loop test with mixed spatial and frequency modulation, participants achieved an overall success rate of 78.8% in target reaching across 10 × 4 discrete 2D space. These results highlight the interface’s capability to transmit high-resolution spatial information through electrotactile feedback, offering a foundation for future applications in tactile-based navigation and control systems.

Heat and Mass Transfer Study of a High-Pressure Membrane Dehumidifier Under Non-Isothermal and Humid Sweep Psychrometric Conditions

Abstract High-pressure membrane dehumidification is of interest for aircraft environmental control system applications. Typically, membrane dehumidifier modules are characterized by manufacturers over a range of mass flow rates, temperatures, and pressures at saturation conditions. However, to evaluate the suitability of high-pressure membrane dehumidification for aircraft applications, the performance must be characterized over the broader range of psychometric conditions that could be encountered. Moreover, the practical integration of a membrane dehumidifier into an environmental control system necessitates reconsideration of the traditional product sweep approach, where some of the dry air produced is removed and supplied to the other side of the membrane to enhance mass transfer. In an environmental control system, using product sweep would require excessive bleed air from the engine and cause unbalanced flow in the turbomachinery. To avoid this, alternate sources of sweep must be considered and their effects on dehumidification must be evaluated. This work conducts an experimental investigation of a membrane dehumidifier module using product sweep under a range of psychometric conditions, then compares product and humid sweep modes to understand the effects of sweep conditions on dehumidification performance. Concurrently, a numerical model of a membrane dehumidifier is implemented and validated - first against the module specification sheet, then against the empirical results that represent moderate altitude aircraft conditions. Ultimately, the feasibility of a hot and humid sweep source to maintain sufficient dehumidification performance under realistic altitude conditions is demonstrated.

Field Evaluation and Application of Intelligent Quality Control Systems

During road construction, the accuracy of compaction work is critical for the structural stability and maintenance of the road. Although the plate load test (PLT) is commonly used for quality inspections, it is impractical to test every section due to time and cost constraints. Therefore, simpler testing methods are being extensively developed. This study compared quality inspection results using the commonly used PLT, the relatively simple dynamic cone penetrometer test (DCPT), the lightweight deflectometer (LWD) test, and an intelligent quality control system equipped with accelerometer and global positioning system (GPS) sensors in intelligent compaction (IC) rollers. The results showed a strong correlation between the conventional tests (PLT, DCPT, and LWD) and the values obtained from the intelligent quality control system. The correlation analysis between the intelligent quality control system and PLT, LWDT, and DCPT yielded R-square values of 0.69, 0.91, and 0.95, respectively, indicating significantly high correlations. The implementation of intelligent quality management systems in earthwork construction projects will facilitate a thorough verification of the compaction quality throughout all construction segments, ensuring consistent compaction across the project. By enabling real-time data acquisition and analysis, these systems differ markedly from traditional methods, reducing the frequency and necessity of manual inspections. This approach not only streamlines construction processes, but also enhances operational efficiency. As a result, integrating these intelligent systems is anticipated to significantly increase productivity by optimizing the workflow and resource utilization in earthwork construction.
