In the proposed model of an oscillating universe with a uniform and isotropic distribution of matter the absence of a singularity with the infinite density of matter depends essentially on the existence of a negative stress indirectly proportional to the n -th power of the curvature of space and causing the continuous creation of matter. In the present paper only the case n = 4 is investigated. The curvature of space depends then on the time by a curtate cycloid. It is found that the differences between this model and the Friedman universe are in the present epoch of the cosmic evolution far below the limit of observability.
