Entrepreneurial Competency of Single-Mother Entrepreneurs

Today, the business world has embraced increasing uncertainty and abrupt changes. The concern for business owners is business sustainability, which is crucial for their business to remain relevant and flexible in unpredictable business environments. The process of change forces business owners to be ready for any consequences that affect their business. Due to overwhelming tasks and responsibilities, single mothers may need help to succeed in business. The present research offers a comprehensive review of business continuity from the perspective of single mothers. Within the scope of this research is an exhaustive and methodical investigation of the business acumen of single mothers as entrepreneurs. A literature review was conducted, and the findings may offer a comprehensive discussion of several dimensions of entrepreneurial competency. The findings contribute new information to the existing body of knowledge regarding entrepreneurial competency, which has been a recurrent topic of discussion among earlier academics who have explored the subject matter to investigate. At the end of this paper, practising entrepreneurial competency with single-mother entrepreneurs has several implications. These findings can be applied and utilized by single-mother entrepreneurs, as well as by the government, industry, and the community.

Transformasi Digital: Efisiensi dan Inovasi dalam Manajemen Operasional

Operational management is one of the important fields in management science that focuses on managing resources effectively and efficiently to achieve organizational goals. With the increasing development of information and communication technology, it has given birth to digitalization in various sectors. However, to what extent this digital transformation is able to increase efficiency and realize innovation in operational management, an in-depth analysis is needed. The method used in this study is descriptive qualitative, using secondary data analysis. Data collection and literature studies were carried out to determine the right analysis so that it can produce conclusions that are useful for increasing competitiveness and ensuring business continuity. In this study, the adoption of technologies such as AI, IoT, and automation is the key to achieving increased efficiency and opening up opportunities for innovation that have a significant impact on operational management and company performance. Digitalization is the foundation for companies to be competitive and relevant in an increasingly competitive global market. In other words, digital transformation is absolutely necessary, because it is proven that the adoption of digital technologies such as AI, big data, cloud computing, and IoT not only increases the efficiency of operational management, but also paves the way for continuous innovation and rapid adaptation to market changes.

ANALISIS IMPLEMENTASI KEUANGAN BERKELANJUTAN TERHADAP PROFITABILITAS BANK

In practice, banks must maintain business continuity by paying attention to their profitability. However, in response to global issues related to sustainable development goals, banks are also obliged to direct their business towards sustainability by implementing sustainable finance. This study aims to further analyze how the implementation of sustainable finance, particularly sustainable lending and the realization of Environmental Social Responsibility (CSR) funds, can affect bank profitability. Economic sustainability theory emphasizes the importance of balance between economic, social, and environmental aspects. This study uses the panel data regression analysis method. The implementation of sustainable finance proxied by sustainable credit has a significant positive effect on bank profitability, while the realization of CSR funds has a significant negative effect on bank profitability. This research is expected to provide a more comprehensive insight into how banks can balance social responsibility and environmental sustainability with the need to maintain healthy profitability.

Artificial intelligence for enhancing resilience

In an increasingly complex and unpredictable world, resilience-the ability to withstand and recover from adverse conditions is essential across various sectors. This research paper investigates the transformative potential of artificial intelligence (AI) in enhancing resilience across multiple domains. We explore how AI technology can be utilized to develop resilient infrastructure, providing advanced predictive maintenance and real-time monitoring capabilities that ensure robustness and longevity. The study examines the role of AI in improving disaster response, offering rapid data analysis and decision-making support to enhance emergency management outcomes. In climate change, AI-driven strategies are assessed for their effectiveness in fostering climate resilience, including predictive modeling of extreme weather events and optimizing resource allocation. The paper also discusses AI applications in healthcare resilience, such as enhancing diagnostics, patient care, and operational efficiency during crises. Business continuity and crisis management are examined, highlighting AI's capability to anticipate disruptions and maintain operational stability. The paper emphasizes the importance of strengthening cybersecurity resilience using AI to detect and mitigate threats proactively. AI's role in enhancing community and social resilience is analysed, particularly in supporting vulnerable populations and fostering social cohesion. Additionally, we explored AI-powered solutions for urban resilience, focusing on smart cities and sustainable development. The study also covers AI's contributions to environmental and ecological resilience, resilient supply chain management, and resilience in the hospitality and tourism industry. Finally, we investigated AI's potential in fostering psychological resilience, providing personalized mental health support and stress management tools. Through these diverse applications, the paper underscores AI's critical role in building a resilient future.

Family entrepreneurs and their next generations, 1809–1945: educational pathways of business elite in Finland

ABSTRACT This study investigated the history of family business elite education in Finland. It focused on family entrepreneurs who achieved the highest national business elite status between 1809 and 1945 and their successive generations. It explored the characteristics of their education within the framework of educational pathways. Data were sourced from the National Biography, which enabled the selection and examination of families belonging to the business elite up to the fifth generation. The results revealed that the family entrepreneurs and their successors focused on successor upbringing and competitive continuity in the family business. Their educational pathways, shaped by formal and informal education, varied in terms of the unique cultural contexts of their family dynasties. The families employed diverse strategies, including informal conservative education, self-education, growth-oriented education, family wealth governance, higher education-focused learning, industrial education, and elite education pathways. These pathways mirror first-generation family entrepreneurs’ education, the second generation’s evolving educational requirements (in succession, internationalization, and growth), and the third and subsequent generations (in corporate governance and wealth creation). While there were changes in educational needs and content across generations and contexts, this study underscores the importance of educational pathways in conceptualizing the educational history of family businesses.

Pemahaman dan Kepedulian dalam Penerapan Green Accounting pada UMKM Tempe di Kabupaten Sikka

This research aims to determine understanding and concern in implementing green accounting in Tempe MSMEs in Sikka Regency. This research uses a qualitative descriptive method. The data collection techniques used were interviews and documentation. The data analysis technique, namely descriptive analysis, begins with the data reduction stage, data presentation and conclusion drawing or verification. The research results show that tempe MSMEs in Sikka Regency, consisting of the Super Jaya tempe factory, Sidu Moro tempe factory, Bintang Jaya tempe factory, Putra Fajar tempe factory, have an understanding and concern for the environmental impact of the business activities they carry out. A manifestation of the understanding of tempeh MSMEs in Sikka Regency regarding the environment is by charging environmental costs in the tempeh production process. The environmental costs charged include the costs of storage tanks, filters, labs, plastic, banana leaves and waste. However, tempe MSMEs do not yet have sufficient understanding to apply the green accounting concept as a whole to the presentation of financial reports. The manifestation of concern for tempeh MSMEs in Sikka Regency is through maintaining business continuity, business raw materials, business waste, organic and non-organic waste, environmentally friendly equipment, understanding environmental costs and being directly assisted by the Health Service and the Sikka Regency Environmental Service.

Business continuity as self-efficacy: Augmenting existing business continuity practice

The COVID-19 pandemic has highlighted the shortcomings of traditional business continuity principles. As much of the novel response to COVID-19 involved a curtailment or cessation of in-person commercial activity, businesses and communities were at unprecedented financial risk. Traditional methods of ensuring business continuity were likely insufficient; thus, an improved understanding of business continuity through disaster is needed for both business and community well-being. Canonically, academic studies examining business survival post-disaster have emphasized vulnerability characteristics and focused on factors outside the businesses’ locus of control. Recently, studies have found that business survival is related to features of self-efficacy that are not easily developed through succinct templates: creativity, flexibility, and improvisation. By critically examining ninety-three publicly available business continuity guides in a content analysis approach, we point to the need for further research on business preparedness as the building of self-efficacy and the effectiveness of converting these scientific findings into useful formats for business operators.

Effective Digital Business Management Strategy: A Structured Approach to Turning Challenges into Opportunities for Sustainable Growth and Innovation

Digital transformation has become one of the main pillars of modern business strategy, requiring companies to adapt to technological developments and maximize emerging opportunities. This article explores effective digital business management strategies, focusing on a structured approach to transform challenges into opportunities for growth and sustainable innovation. Through a qualitative approach based on literature studies and case analysis, this study identifies key elements in digital business management strategies, including the use of information technology (IT) and management information systems (MIS), the use of data and analytics, organizational flexibility, continuous innovation, and strategic collaboration with external parties. The results show that companies that successfully implement this strategy can adapt quickly to market changes, improve operational efficiency, and create competitive advantages. Flexibility and continuous innovation are also found to be important factors in ensuring business continuity amidst technological disruption. In addition, collaboration between companies, startups, and academic institutions is a key element in driving innovation and optimizing resources. This article contributes to the academic literature and business practice, by offering practical guidance for companies to formulate superior digital strategies in the era of global competition.

Businiss Analytic Techniques of Apparels Industries and its impact on Global Business

The present study deals with “Business analytic techniques and its impact of global business in apparels industries.” The sale products and financial performance of Raymond industries application of tools and techniques of tools and cost management differ on 2021-22 and 2022-23. Results was that Raymond apparels industries application of tools and technique of cost management 2021-22 and 2022-23 net profit 77.76%, 7.76% on Indian market and 16.09% on Global market. The annual reports Raymond apparels industries in multiple products is very high as compared to single product. Application of tools and techniques of cost management 43.15 on 2022-23 financial years.

Building capability and community through cyber-incident response exercises

While a natural disaster or related threat may impact an organisation at some point, it is more likely (even inevitable) that it will be the victim of a cyber attack. The solution to being better prepared for these imminent attacks is to undertake more lightweight and frequent incident response (IR) exercises to help build capabilities and community through a tighter, recurring cycle of planning, conducting and assessing. To boost the facilitation of IR exercises, organisations must leverage the established relationships between business continuity management (BCM) or resilience staff (both of which are familiar with business continuity and disaster recovery exercises), and their information security office. As BCM will ultimately be involved in response and recovery after a cyber attack, it is intuitively more effective to collaborate with BCM in advance. Indeed, it has been substantiated that BCM engagement improves incident response time and reduces incident response costs. This paper concludes that involving BCM or resilience departments in IR exercises contributes to more effective responses to actual incidents.

Enterprise risk management implementation challenges in medical laboratories in Harare, Zimbabwe.

Medical laboratories play crucial roles in healthcare, and effective enterprise risk management (ERM) is necessary to ensure business continuity, patient safety, and quality of care. In medical laboratories, ERM is important for enhancing patient safety, regulatory compliance and accreditation, quality management, business continuity, and cyber security. By following ERM principles and approaches, the medical laboratories can proactively manage their risks, improve patient safety, and maintain a high level of quality and reliability of outcomes. However, implementing ERM in medical laboratories faces unique challenges. This study explored the specific challenges and offers practical solutions for overcoming them to ensure successful ERM implementation in Harare, Zimbabwe. A cross-sectional survey was done through 41 self-administered questionnaires and interviews with medical laboratory staff from the six main medical laboratories in Harare. Data were analyzed using the Statistical Package for Social Sciences version 22. Quantitative data were analyzed using descriptive statistics such as frequencies and percentages. Qualitative data were analyzed using mean scores of Likert scale responses. The main challenges identified in the study included increased workload, staffing, organizational structures, timeliness of information, inadequate information technology support, and insufficient financial support in ERM. These can be addressed by portfolio management of risks, leveraging on cutting edge technology, restructuring to ensure swift responses to issues and redistributing staff workload, and training personnel to avoid burnouts and ensure maximum efficiency. Implementing ERM in medical laboratories requires understanding and addressing these challenges. By following the ERM principles and approaches the medical laboratories can proactively manage their risks, improve patient safety and maintain a high level of quality and reliability of outcomes ERM is still a new approach in the sector and needs further research.

Electronic health record downtime responses : One health system’s process for ongoing readiness

Since the implementation of the HITECH Act 2009, the integration of the electronic health record (EHR) with other technology platforms has increased the complexity and necessity of technology downtimes, and the continuity of patient care has become increasingly dependent on an intact EHR. To maintain business continuity and safe patient care during planned or unplanned EHR downtime, it is imperative that organisations have solid downtime and disaster recovery plans. Successful downtime planning will include documenting, with annual reviews, the process for patient care during downtime, as well as an exercise programme that touches all aspects of the downtime process. This paper discusses the experience of a healthcare system based in the US Midwest, which has chosen to exercise part of that process on a quarterly basis, prior to scheduled EHR upgrades. Over the past year of exercises, this healthcare system has collected various data elements in order to identify the education needed and the fine-tuning of the exercise design required to ensure staff competency and patient safety during EHR downtime. The paper describes the process, outcome and the steps the organisation is taking to improve the outcomes of future EHR downtimes.

From code to coin: Unravelling the practical business impact of algorithmic pricing

This paper examines the impact of algorithmic pricing on company value and presents the results of 31 expert interviews in various industries. The focus is on nine hypotheses, including the efficiency of automation, segmentation and value-based pricing, efficient resource allocation, perception of fairness, price transparency and uncertainty, the use of personal data and price competition. The surveys show that algorithmic pricing has considerable potential for efficiency gains through automation, particularly in terms of revenue growth. The potential for cost savings, however, varies from sector to sector. Segmentation and value-based pricing are proving to be feasible, but their implementation requires clear justification and economic rationale. Efficient resource allocation through dynamic pricing shows potential, especially in industry-specific scenarios. The perception of unfairness can have a negative impact, however, and personalised pricing risks alienating customers and reducing business value. Price transparency and uncertainty have a mixed effect, as customers often place more value on the transparency of alternative offers than on the company’s pricing process. The use of personal data poses a low risk to company value if it is transparent and mutually beneficial. The potential intensification of competition through algorithmic pricing depends on the market structure and the company’s objectives; however, algorithmic pricing can be used as an instrument to reduce price competition and increase company value. Overall, the results make it clear that the integration of algorithmic pricing strategies must be carefully and ethically designed in order to sustainably increase company value.

Pengukuran Kinerja Supply Chain Otak-Otak Bandeng Menggunakan Supply Chain Operation Reference (SCOR) dan Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP)

The supply chain is one of the things that plays a role in business continuity. Not only in large-scale industries, a small and medium SME also needs to pay attention to the supply chain so that the business can develop and be sustainable. Supply chain performance measurement needs to be done to measure and evaluate supply chain performance that is currently ongoing. Supply chain operation reference and Analytical Hierarchy Process are used in creating performance measurement models. There are 29 validated Key peformance Indicators to create hierarchical models which are then normalized snorm de boer and AHP in determining weights with Expert choice 11. The measurement of supply chain performance in milkfish SMEs bu afifah obtained 64 meaning average or average with an indicator range between 50-70. In addition, the attribute that has the greatest influence weight is plan with a value of 0.302, then source with a value of 0.246, make with a value of 0.168, deliver with a value of 0.119, return with a value of 0.084 and enable with a value of 0.080

가족통제와 혁신투자와의 관계에 대한 연구: 창업가문의 조절효과

In this paper, we attempted to validate the impact of family businesses, a distinct corporate structure, on innovative behavior. The role of family control, which is unique to family businesses, received special attention. In this study, we used agent theory and social-emotional wealth theory to test the effect of family control on creative investment. Furthermore, we attempted to confirm the moderating effect of the negative (-) of political connection, as well as the moderating effect of the definition of entrepreneurship as moderating variables that influence the effect of family control on innovative behavior. To that goal, the research hypotheses were validated using 5,120 samples of 1,024 family businesses listed from 2015 to 2019. According to the study's findings, the family control ratio and innovative behavior have a negative (-) link, and family control in publicly listed family enterprises that have started their own ventures can reduce the negative impact on corporate innovation investment. But, the political connection has been rejected. According to this study, the more the family composition control, the lower the corporate innovation investment; so, if family businesses want to grow, they should encourage innovative behavior and increase their interest in innovation support policies. Furthermore, it should be recognized that family control of self-starting family businesses can minimize negative effects on corporate innovation investment and increase availability.

When healthcare becomes sick: Recovering from ransomware

This teaching case describes the ransomware attack on Ireland’s national health provider, the Health Service Executive (HSE), and how it recovered. The attack disrupted critical healthcare services across more than 50 hospitals and, in retrospect, highlighted significant cybersecurity vulnerabilities. The case provides an in-depth analysis of the events leading up to the attack, the immediate organizational and technical impacts, and the subsequent response and recovery efforts. It explores issues such as incident response, risk management, business continuity, and the broader implications for public health organizations. It provides insights into the complexities of managing cyber threats in a healthcare context and the importance of robust cybersecurity preparedness. This case is designed for both undergraduate and postgraduate students in courses related to information security, cybersecurity management, and information systems. Students will be encouraged to evaluate the HSE’s preparedness, response strategies, and long-term recovery plans, and to develop recommendations for enhancing cybersecurity resilience in similar organizations.

The impact of working capital management to profitability of chemicals companies listed on the Vietnamese stock market

Working capital plays an important role in ensuring business continuity. Effective management of working capital will directly affect the success of the business. In contrast, poor management will lead to a lack of financial ability, difficulty in payment, reduced sales leads to reduced profits. This paper examines the impact of working capital management on the profitability of chemical companies listed on the Vietnamese stock market. Data sources used in the analysis are from the financial statements of 32 chemical companies listed on Hanoi and Hochiminh City Stock Exchange form 2019 to 2023. Through the results of SPSS 20, the authors assessed the impact of working capital management to profitability and recommendations to improve working capital management of chemical companies listed on the stock market of Vietnam.

Antecedents of Financial Behavior of MSME

Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) have an important role in economic growth and development in Indonesia. MSMEs are an integral part of the national business world and have a strategic position, potential, and role in realizing national development goals. The way to achieve the goals above, it is necessary to have MSMEs that can survive in various conditions. Good management is needed in managing these MSMEs, one of which is the financial behavior of MSMEs because financial behavior is an individual's perception of controlling sources of funds (money). This research aims to analyze the role of financial factors that can influence the financial behavior of MSMEs. This research uses a quantitative method with a structural equation model. So, MSMEs need to have good financial behavior to maintain business continuity. The financial factors used in this research are Financial Literacy, Financial Attitude, Locus of Control, and Financial knowledge. The research results show that all the variables used have an impact on the financial behavior of MSMEs in Gresik.

Proactive self‐healing techniques for cloud computing: A systematic review

SummaryEnsuring the seamless operation of cloud computing services is paramount for meeting user demands and ensuring business continuity. Fault‐tolerant self‐healing techniques play a crucial role in enhancing the reliability and availability of cloud platforms, minimizing downtime and ensuring uninterrupted service delivery. This article systematically categorizes and analyzes existing research on fault‐tolerant self‐healing techniques published between 2005 and 2024. We provide a comprehensive technical taxonomy organizing self‐healing techniques based on fault tolerance processes, encompassing considerations for both reliability and availability. Additionally, we evaluate applications of proactive self‐healing techniques, highlighting their achievements, and limitations in enhancing service continuity. Strategies to address identified weaknesses are discussed, alongside future research challenges and open issues in the domain of cloud resilience. Through this analysis, the article contributes to understanding self‐healing techniques in cloud computing, offering insights into their effectiveness in ensuring service continuity. The findings aim to guide future research efforts in developing more robust and resilient cloud infrastructures, ultimately enhancing overall service reliability and availability. By emphasizing the importance of fault tolerance and self‐healing techniques, this article lays the foundation for advancing the state‐of‐the‐art in cloud computing.
