Measuring spiritual, religious, and existential constructs in children: A systematic review of instruments and measurement properties

Sparse knowledge exists about measuring spiritual, religious, and existential (SRE) constructs in children. Well-validated questionnaires measuring such concepts are necessary when researchers want to quantitatively investigate the spiritual lives of children. We aimed to identify questionnaires measuring SRE constructs in children and assess their psychometric properties. We conducted literature searches in four electronic databases. Studies were included if they described the use of a questionnaire measuring SRE constructs in children under 12 years. Systematic data extraction and assessment of the studies using standardized COSMIN guidelines were performed. A total of 17,681 records were screened. Twenty-seven articles assessing 18 different questionnaires met the inclusion criteria. In total, 16 structural validity, 20 internal consistency, 4 measurement invariance, and 16 construct validity studies were found. We identified no high-quality content validity studies. The Meaning in Life in Children Questionnaire by Shoshani and Russo-Netzer showed promising measurement properties. However, all included instruments need further content validity testing before being recommended for use.

The Chinese version of the patients' experiences scale for older inpatients in the medical group: Instrument development and cross-sectional validation study.

Value-based healthcare is increasingly emphasizing attention to patients' self-reported experiences. However, due to the lack of effective tools, older patients in China lack feedback on the comprehensive care experience. Based on the psychometric assessment procedure, we developed a new geriatric inpatient experience scale (GIES). The study comprised two stages: (1) instrument development and (2) empirical testing. Through literature screening and Delphi methods, 26 preliminary items were identified. The content and facial validity tests then produced 23 items across eight factors: 'Doctor-patient communication', 'Engagement', 'Privacy', 'Right to know', 'Services timeliness', 'Continuity care', 'Visiting environment', and 'Overall satisfaction'. Using reliability analysis, exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis to evaluate psychometric characteristics, GIES showed good reliability and structural validity. As a multidimensional instrument for the experience of older patients, the application of GIES in clinical practice can assist healthcare providers in identifying areas for improvement to improve care experiences and outcomes for older patients.

Development and Pilot Psychometric Testing of the Cancer Nurse Self-Assessment Tools for Early and Metastatic Breast Cancer.

To develop and psychometrically test two newly developed Cancer Nurse Self-Assessment Tools for early and metastatic breast cancer (CaN-SAT-eBC and CAN-SAT-mBC). Instrument development and psychometric testing of content validity, reliability and construct validity. A three-phase procedure was conducted. Phase 1: An expert working group was formed to design and develop each tool using Benner's Model of Clinical Competence. Phase 2: The Content Validation Index (CVI) was used to assess the relevance and clarity of each item on the tools with breast cancer nurse experts and nursing educators. A CVI ≥ 0.78 was required for an item to be included in each tool. Phase 3: The tools were tested for internal consistency using Cronbach's alpha and construct validity using principal component analysis (PCA). The Guidelines for Reporting Reliability and Agreement Studies were followed in reporting this study. Each tool underwent two rounds of content validation. Ten experts were involved in the content validation for the CaN-SAT-eBC and 12 experts involved for CaN-SAT-mBC. The final versions comprised 18 (CAN-SAT-eBC) and 22 elements (CaN-SAT-mBC). All items obtained a satisfactory CVI of 0.83-1.0. Data from 159 and 126 nurses were analysed to evaluate reliability for CaN-SAT-eBC and CaN-SAT-mBC, respectively. The Cronbach's alpha coefficients for all elements were between 0.83 and 0.98. The PCA supported that each element was unidimensional and composed of internally correlated items, with the exception of the 'Diagnostics' element of practice which has a two-component structure measuring basic and advanced diagnostic tasks. The two CaN-SATs are comprehensive, valid and reliable. They can be used for self-assessment by nurses in relation to breast cancer care and for identifying learning needs for long-term professional development. The self-assessment tools can also be used to develop education initiatives for specialised breast cancer nurses. No patient or public contribution.

Development and Evaluation of a Virtual Reality Intervention for Reducing Exposure to Endocrine Disruptors in Female Adolescents: A Pilot Study

ABSTRACTPurposeThis study aimed to develop a virtual reality (VR) intervention for reducing exposure to endocrine disruptors (EDs) and examined the effect of the intervention among Korean adolescent girls.Design and MethodsA methodological design was employed involving five phases for developing the VR tool and its evaluation of validity testing. The five development phases were conducted through (1) a literature review and surveys to select appropriate VR content for adolescents’ snack shopping, (2) a VR scenario composition based on the information‐motivation‐behavioral (IMB) skills model, (3) implementation of the VR tool using Oculus Quest 2, (4) heuristic and usability evaluations of the VR tool, and (5) the confirmation of final maintenance. For the evaluation, a one‐group pre‐ and post‐test design was utilized with a convenience sample of 19 adolescent girls who were recruited from a high school located in W city. Knowledge about EDs and sensitivity to women's reproductive health problems were measured using a self‐administered questionnaire.ResultsThe prototype of a 15‐min VR intervention was developed based on the waterfall model and evaluation criteria yielded acceptable results through content validity, heuristic evaluation, and usability test. The Wilcoxon signed‐rank test showed significant differences in knowledge about EDs (U = 3.57, p < 0.001) and sensitivity to women's reproductive health problems (U = 4.36, p < 0.001) between pre‐ and post‐intervention.Practice ImplicationsThe VR intervention was found to be applicable and effective for reducing exposure to EDs in female adolescents. School and community health centers need to expand the application of VR‐based health education to provide adolescents with a conducive environment for engaging in health behaviors and enhancing learning experiences.

Validation of the Birth Beliefs Scale for maternity care professionals in The Netherlands

Objectives To validate the Birth Beliefs Scale (BBS) for maternity care professionals by testing: (1) content validity; (2) internal reliability; (3) known-group discriminant validity; and examine potential relationships between regions and birth beliefs. Methods First, content validity was tested. Before distribution of the questionnaire among maternity care professionals of six maternity care networks (MCNs), adjustments in the statements were made whenever content validity was too low. Data were collected from November 2022 to March 2023. Statistical analysis was performed using Cronbach’s alpha, ANOVA and regression analysis. Results Based on the content validity-test, item 6 of the questionnaire was adjusted before distribution. In total, 199 maternity care professionals completed the questionnaire. A good internal reliability of the BBS was found. There was a significant difference between the different disciplines for the BBS-Med subscale (p < .001), and the BBS-Nat subscale (p < .001). For the BBS-Nat subscale, the factors work experience and MCN were significant in the regression analysis, with interaction on the association between BBS-Nat and discipline. Conclusions The BBS is a valid instrument to measure birth beliefs among maternity care professionals. The BBS can help to create awareness within professionals of their beliefs and may help to explain practice variation in childbirth.

Validation of Students' Green Behavior Instrument Based on Local Potential Using Structural Equation Modeling With Smart Partial Least Squares

This study aims to develop and validate a green behavior instrument based on local potential using structural equation modeling (SEM) with smart partial least squares (SmartPLS). The instrument consists of 40 statements covering five main indicators: environmental maintenance, waste reduction, saving natural resources, sustainable mobility and consumption, and community education. This study addresses a gap in existing research by creating a context-specific tool for assessing green behavior, incorporating local cultural and ecological factors. While prior studies emphasize global sustainability principles, they often overlook the significance of local practices and values, which are essential for effective environmental education. By integrating local potential, this instrument bridges global sustainability goals with regional contexts, enabling meaningful and practical student engagement. The instrument was validated through content validity testing, exploratory and confirmatory factor analyses, and construct validity and reliability testing using SEM with SmartPLS. The results indicate strong content validity, with content validity index (CVI) values ranging from .80 to .90. After analysis, 34 valid items were retained from the initial 40. This study contributes to the literature by developing an instrument that aligns with global sustainability goals while integrating local cultural practices and ecological contexts. It offers insights into how local knowledge enhances sustainability education, providing a holistic framework for assessing green behavior across diverse regions.

Social Media Bashing Assessment Scale (SM-BASH): Development and Psychometric Testing

The pervasive use of social media exposes individuals to negative experiences, including social media bashing, which profoundly impacts mental health, yet there is a conspicuous lack of a standardized scale to assess these experiences. This study assessed the psychometric properties of the Social Media Bashing Assessment Scale (SM-BASH). A total of 978 college students from the Philippines participated in the study. An exploratory factor analysis (EFA) was conducted to determine the underlying structure of the SM-BASH, followed by a confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) to validate the model. The scale’s reliability was examined using Cronbach’s alpha and inter-item/inter-total correlation, while its validity was examined through content and criterion validity tests. The EFA and CFA revealed a two-factor structure model, which explained 70.57% of the total variance, comprising ‘Explicit Social Media Bashing’ and ‘Implicit Social Media Bashing’. The scale demonstrated excellent criterion validity and high internal consistency, with a Cronbach’s alpha of .92. The 10-item SM-BASH is a valid and reliable tool for quantifying negative encounters on social media platforms, particularly among student populations. Its strong psychometric properties make it appropriate for use in research and potentially in clinical settings to assess and address the impacts of social media bashing on individuals’ well-being.

Chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps (CRSwNP) symptom verbal response scales: content validity testing for use in adults with CRSwNP

BackgroundPRO measures of symptoms in clinical trials have historically utilized visual and numerical scales but verbal descriptors may make it easier for patients to clearly differentiate between response options. This study assessed content validity and meaningful change in five verbal response scales (VRSs) used to assess chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyp (CRSwNP) symptom severity.MethodologyThis qualitative, semi-structured interview study recruited adults from the US, Germany, and China with confirmed moderate-to-severe CRSwNP. Interviews included a concept elicitation section, where participants were asked about their experience of living with CRSwNP including symptoms and health-related quality-of-life impacts, and a cognitive debriefing section, where participants were debriefed and participant understanding and real-life relevance of the CRSwNP symptom VRS content were assessed. Interview transcripts were qualitatively analyzed using thematic analysis methods.ResultsAmong the 24 participants interviewed, the most frequently reported CRSwNP symptoms were nasal obstruction, runny nose, mucus in the throat, loss of smell and facial pain/pressure. Participants demonstrated good understanding of the CRSwNP symptom VRS instructions, items, recall period, and response options. The five CRSwNP symptom VRS items were relevant to the majority of participants’ experience of CRSwNP. At the item level, a one-category within-person improvement was the level most frequently reported by participants to be a meaningful change.ConclusionThe CRSwNP symptom VRSs assess relevant and bothersome symptoms experienced by patients with moderate-to-severe CRSwNP, supporting content validity of this measure. The findings of this study provided preliminary insights into meaningful change in the VRS. Further quantitative assessment of meaningful change is needed, and psychometric evaluation of the CRSwNP symptom VRSs will be required to evaluate their appropriateness for assessment of clinical trial endpoints in patients with CRSwNP.

Psychometric properties of comprehensive cognitive, affective, and psychomotor competency assessment scales in psychodynamic psychotherapy for borderline personality disorder.

Psychodynamic psychotherapy is a type of psychotherapy for individuals with borderline personality disorder (BPD). However, competency in conducting effective psychodynamic psychotherapy for BPD is difficult to evaluate. Therefore, this study aimed to identify the psychometric properties of a comprehensive scale to assess cognitive, affective, and psychomotor competencies (CS-CAPC) in psychodynamic psychotherapy for BPD. This is a qualitative study. The first step used the Delphi technique to gather experts' opinions on the cognitive, affective, and psychomotor competencies necessary to conduct psychodynamic psychotherapy for BPD. The experts comprised three psychotherapists, seven psychiatrists with experience in psychotherapy, and nine teaching staff. A panel discussion was conducted to obtain qualitative data. Thematic data analysis was adopted, and content validity testing was used to analyze the content validity of the CS-CAPC in psychodynamic psychotherapy for BPD. The CS-CAPC comprised two scales assessing two specific competencies in psychodynamic psychotherapy for BPD: The first scale, the psychodynamic formulation competency assessment scale (PF-CAS), comprised six items, including the case description, etiology, and potential course of therapy. The second scale, the practical-competency assessment scale (PC-CAS) for psychodynamic psychotherapy for BPD, comprised 12 items, including building a therapeutic alliance, performing psychodynamic interventions while working through the therapeutic process, and closing the session. The scale-level content validity index (S-CVI) for the PF-CAS was 0.981, and that for the PC-CAS in psychodynamic psychotherapy for BPD was 1.00. The CS-CAPC in psychodynamic psychotherapy for BPD had good validity in assessing individual competency in the cognitive, affective, and psychomotor domains.

The validity and reliability of the Indonesian version of the Diabetes Mellitus Self-Efficacy Scale (DMSES-I).

The incidence of diabetes mellitus (DM) and its complications is increasing in Indonesia. The patient's quality of life will decrease due to this condition. Diabetes self-management is a viable tactic for improving quality of life and reducing blood sugar levels. A key element of diabetes self-management education for nurses and health professionals is self-efficacy. However, a valid and reliable scale to assess self-efficacy in Indonesia is necessary. 'The Diabetes Mellitus Self-Efficacy Scale (DMSES)' is translated into Indonesian for the psychometric assessment of diabetes patients there. DMSES was translated into the Indonesian version (DMSES-I) using the forward-backward translation method. In addition, 227 adult patients with type 2 diabetes completed the scale which underwent internal consistency, construct validity and content validity tests. The item content validity and scale validity were 0.955 and 0.955, respectively. Exploratory factor analysis showed a Kaiser-Meyer-Olkin index of 0.922 and a Cronbach's alpha coefficient of 0.928. The confirmatory factor analysis results were chi-square = 76.610, probability = 0.009 and root mean square error of approximation (RMSEA) = 0.049. To assess diabetes self-efficacy in Indonesia, the DMSES-I is a valid and reliable tool. To educate diabetes self-management effectively, nurses must assess their patients' diabetes self-efficacy.

Integrated Learning Models for Micro-Teaching Course

The progressive world of education needs to be accelerated by fulfilling the competencies of prospective teachers who are also progressive through a series of performance tasks that are relevant to learning needs in the 21st century. This research used Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation (ADDIE) to innovate an integrated learning model for a micro-teaching course. A needs analysis was conducted on 75 students, two lecturers, and 30 teachers to assess actual performance, confirm desired performance, and identify causes of performance gaps. Researchers then designed performance tasks and validated them by 10 raters, tested them on 337 students to test the outer and inner models, and tested them on 30 students, 28 lecturers, and 49 teachers to test differences. Test content validity using the Aiken-V formula and test inter-rater reliability using ICC. Meanwhile, testing the validity and reliability of the construct uses outer and inner model analysis (CB-SEM), and the difference test uses ANOVA. The content validity results prove that all task performance meets the Aiken parameters (0.75-1.00), the interrater reliability value is 0.573, and the Cronbach alpha value is 0.931. Testing the outer model proves that the loading factor task performance value ranges from 0.709-0.874, the Cronbach alpha value ranges from 0.768-0.880, the composite reliability value ranges from 0.768-0.879, the AVE value ranges from 0.580-0.649, and the discriminant validity value ranges from 0.761-0.806. The inner model test proves that the Chi-Square/df value = 2.254, RMSEA value = 0.061, SRMR value = 0.036, NFI value = 0.910, TLI value = 0.936, and CFI value = 0.948. Meanwhile, the results of the ANOVA test confirm that the Sig value = 0.098, so it can be concluded that there are no significant differences between the three sample groups regarding the model innovation results. Thus, the 25-task performance in the integrated learning model has a significant psychometric function relative to the actual situation, so it becomes one of the references that lecturers can use to improve the competency of prospective teachers in micro-teaching courses (not limited to teaching skills, analytical thinking skills, academic integrity, and transformational leadership). Development of Learning Tools Based on the Culturally Responsive Transformative Teaching Model with a Socio-Scientific Issues Approach: Evaluation of Validity and Practicality

The importance of conducting this research is based on observations indicating that the implementation of the Kurikulum Merdeka on the theme of local wisdom has been limited to Sabtu Budaya (Cultural Saturday) activities, without further integration into the learning process, particularly in the development of learning tools. This research aims to develop a learning tool based on the CRTT model with a SSI approach that is both valid and practical. The type of research employed is Research and Development (R&amp;D), with a 4D development design limited to the define, design, and develop stages. The development stage is restricted to validation and practicality testing. Data collection techniques included expert validation sheets, student and teacher response questionnaires, and observation sheets for the implementation of learning activities. Data analysis techniques used Aiken's V validity index, Percentage of Agreement, and percentage method. The results of the content and construct validity tests indicate that the learning tool based on the CRTT model with the SSI approach is classified as highly valid, with the assessment agreement among validators being reliable. The results of the practicality test show that student responses had an average of 89.02%, categorized as practical, teacher responses were 92.81%, categorized as practical, and the implementation of learning activities reached 85.71%. These results indicate that the learning tool based on the CRTT model with the SSI approach is both valid and practical for use in the learning process.

Development of Problem-Based Learning Integrated Sasambo Ethnochemistry in Colloid-Based Chemistry Teaching Materials

This research aims to determine the feasibility of product development for colloid-based chemistry teaching materials and problem-based learning integrated with Sasambo ethnochemistry to increase students' chemical literacy. This research is part of a development research procedure that adopts the 4-D model, with stages to define, design, develop, and disseminate. Test the suitability of teaching materials using a questionnaire to test content validity and construct validity. And reliability. The content and construct validity analysis technique uses the V index, while the reliability of teaching materials uses the kappa moment coefficient (K). The content and construct validity analysis results showed that the criteria were very valid, with a V index of 91.36% and 90.7%. The reliability analysis results of teaching materials obtained a kappa moment coefficient (K) of 0.88 with a very high reliability category. Based on the validity and reliability values, it is concluded that colloid-based chemistry teaching materials and problem-based learning Sasambo's integrated ethnochemistry are very suitable for learning.

Mathematics Teachers’ and Students’ Learning Evaluation for National Learning Camp: Basis for Supplementary YouTube Video Lessons

The National Learning Camp (NLC) in the Philippines aims to bridge the learning gaps created by the COVID-19 epidemic. Therefore, this study evaluated the NLC based on the perspectives of the mathematics teachers and students who participated in the camp. An explanatory sequential design was employed to gather rich data. An evaluation form and interview guide questions were used to collect data subjected to content validation and pilot testing. The findings reveal that mathematics teachers and students evaluated the NLC effectively in learning activities, materials, support, and outcomes. However, mathematics teachers experienced challenges like errors in the printed materials, hard-to-contextualize lessons, broad topics, time-consuming preparation of instructional materials, and inappropriate learning content. Similarly, students experienced challenges such as unclear printed materials, too many lessons that needed to be covered, too much content, and challenging lessons. As an output, teacher-made supplementary YouTube video lessons are created based on the students’ suggestions to help those who participate in NLC for grade 7

Developing and Validating the Health Literacy Scale for Migrant Workers: Instrument Development and Validation Study.

Research concerning health literacy among migrant workers in South Korea has been limited, especially given the lack of validated instruments and the lack of focus on the cultural diversity of migrant workers. This study aimed to develop and validate a health literacy scale for unskilled migrant workers (HLS-MW) in South Korea. We first generated a pool of potential items based on a literature review and in-depth interviews with 23 migrant workers. Subsequently, we reviewed empirical referents from the first step to select relevant medical terminologies and passages, ultimately choosing 709 words. The study team initially generated 35 items with 709 health-related terms through empirical referent reviews. After content validity testing by an expert panel, 28 items comprising 89 terms on the 2 subscales of prose and documents were selected for psychometric testing. Overall, 402 unskilled migrant workers in South Korea completed a web-based survey between August and September 2021, with 334 responses included in the final analysis. We used multiple analytic approaches, including exploratory factor analysis, Rasch analysis (item response theory), and descriptive analysis, to examine the new scale's validity and reliability. The final sample primarily included young male workers from South Asian countries. The HLS-MW yielded 2 factors: prose and documents. The item difficulty scores ranged from -1.36 to 2.56. The scale was reduced to 13 items (10 prose and 3 document items), with the final version exhibiting good internal reliability (Kuder-Richardson index=0.88; intraclass correlation coefficient=0.94, 95% CI 0.93-0.95) and test-retest reliability (r=0.74, 95% CI 0.57-0.92). HLS-MW scores differed significantly by Korean language proficiency (F2,331=3.54, P=.004). The HLS-MW is a reliable and valid measure to assess health literacy among migrant workers in South Korea. Further studies are needed to test the psychometric properties of the HLS-MW in diverse migrant groups in South Korea while also establishing cutoffs to help identify those in need of health literacy support.

Evaluating the reliability and validity of a Chinese version of the performance-oriented mobility assessment among patients with chronic stroke.

The Performance-Oriented Mobility Assessment (POMA) is a reliable instrument for evaluating the mobility (balance and gait) of patients with chronic stroke to manage their risk of falling; however, it has not been validated among Chinese patients with stroke. This study aimed to evaluate the reliability and validity of the Chinese POMA in patients with stroke. The POMA was applied to volunteer patients with stroke from the Shanghai MCC Hospital. The patients underwent the Chinese POMA, Berg balance scale (BBS), and timed up and go (TUG) tests on the first day of inpatient treatment. The same physician repeated the tests the next day to assess test-retest reliability, and upon the patient's discharge from the inpatient department, two different physicians measured inter-rater reliability. The study involved 76 patients with stroke (age: 62.04 ± 9.76 years; 34.2% female). The results showed that the Chinese POMA had good overall internal consistency (σ=. 875), with a moderate consistency between its two subscales (balance σ = 0.875; gait σ = 0.668). The individual items showed high test-retest (ICC = 0.997) and inter-rater reliability (ICC = 0.988). The content validity test showed high correlations between the Chinese POMA, the BBS (rs = 0.70), and the TUG (rs = -0.75). However, the confirmatory factor analysis suggested that the two-factor model (balance and gait) was mediocre. The Chinese POMA showed acceptable reliability and validity for evaluating mobility (balance and gait) in Chinese patients with stroke in terms of their risk of falling. However, further evaluation of the two-factor model (balance and gait) is required.

Make the Right Call: formative evaluation for a water safety programme for adults in Western Australia.

Preventing drowning in adults is a complex, multifaceted injury prevention issue. The adult drowning rate in Australia is continuing to rise. In 2023, more than half of those who drowned were aged over 45 years. While there has been a call for robust, evidence-informed drowning prevention interventions across the life course, evidence of evaluated, drowning prevention programmes for adults is lacking. For more than a decade, drowning prevention researchers and practitioners in Western Australia (WA) have worked in partnership to design and evaluate evidence-informed programmes. This paper describes formative research to develop 'Make the Right Call' (MTRC), an adult water safety programme in WA. A staged, mixed-methods, formative evaluation was undertaken to inform the design of MTRC. The approach involved cluster analysis of coronial data 2008-2018 (n = 93), interviews with adults aged 45-64 years (n = 10) and 65 years and older (n = 15), theory mapping, survey design, content and face validity testing of a baseline questionnaire with content experts (n = 11) and a refined instrument to collect knowledge, and data on norms and water-based activity. The subsequent MTRC programme comprised a media campaign, community swimming and safety classes, lifejacket trade-in, subsidised first-aid training and community education. The results of each stage informed the design and evaluation of a new evidence-informed and theory-driven drowning prevention programme for adults aged 45 years and older, delivered by the peak drowning prevention agency in WA, Royal Life Saving Western Australia. An investment in mixed-methods research by the partnership added rigour and credibility to the programme and evaluation design. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first adult water safety programme to apply a theory-driven, evidence-informed approach to its development, implementation and evaluation. The partnership was vital in maximising and accelerating the acceptable transfer of results to enhance knowledge creation and, ultimately, the design of the MTRC drowning prevention programme.

Integrated measure for training transfer in nursing practice: Development and validation study

BackgroundThe persistent knowledge-practice gap in nursing, where competencies gained through continuing professional development fail to integrate into practice, remains a significant challenge. Effective transfer of acquired knowledge and skills to the workplace is essential for bridging this gap. However, there is a lack of comprehensive, validated instruments to assess factors influencing training transfer in nursing practice. MethodsThe questionnaire development consisted of three phases: Phase 1) content development, in which instruments were identified based on a literature study and translation of included instruments into Dutch, Phase 2) pilot phase: content validation and usability testing using Delphi studies with experts and nurses, Phase 3) psychometric validation: construct validation using exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis, composite reliability and discriminant validity. The phases were completed from January 2023 till June 2024. ResultsThe literature review led to the inclusion of two key instruments: the Learning Transfer System Inventory (LTSI) and the Learning Climate Questionnaire (LCQ). Following item reduction based on Delphi rounds, nurses completed the adapted instruments. Psychometric validation demonstrated a good fit for these instruments in nursing practice. The adapted LTSI showed loadings ranging from 0.37 to 0.99, with a Normed Χ2 of 1.996, TLI of 0.908, CFI of 0.920, and RMSEA of 0.050 [CI = 0.047–0.054]. The adapted LCQ exhibited loadings from 0.64 to 0.94, with a Normed Χ2 of 3.385, TLI of 0.963, CFI of 0.974, and RMSEA of 0.069 [CI = 0.061–0.078]. The combined model demonstrated a Normed Χ2 of 2.014, TLI of 0.900, CFI of 0.907, and RMSEA of 0.051 [CI = 0.048–0.054]. ConclusionsThe adapted LTSI and LCQ, both separately and combined, are reliable and valid instruments for use in the Dutch nursing hospital context. Together, they provide a comprehensive assessment of factors influencing training transfer. They can also be used independently to examine specific components such as trainers (LCQ), context (LTSI), personal aspects (LTSI), or training (LTSI/LCQ). Furthermore, these instruments can facilitate discussions between nurses, managers, and educational experts to address barriers to training transfer in nursing practice.

Shared decision-making in long-term care: A systematic review of assessment instruments

This systematic review explored the instruments used to measure Shared Decision Making (SDM) within long-term care (LTC) settings. Relevant publications from the period between January 2000 and October 2022 were searched across five databases. Thirty-six SDM assessment instruments were identified, which encompassed those measuring SDM for LTC recipients/family caregivers and/or healthcare providers. These instruments were either specifically tailored for LTC settings or more broadly applicable across healthcare contexts, including LTC. In terms of psychometric properties of the instruments, internal consistency reliability, content validity, structural validity, and hypothesis testing were commonly tested. The findings of this research can aid health researchers, managers, and scholars in choosing suitable instruments for assessing SDM in specific LTC scenarios, considering factors such as measurement scope, assessment methods, and instrument reliability. Additionally, these findings offer valuable insights for the future development of high-quality SDM assessment instruments in LTC field.

Analysis of Chemistry Interest Level in Merdeka Curriculum Implementation at SMA Negeri 8 Pontianak

Elective subject is the flagship program of Merdeka Curriculum..The elective subject program is based on students’ interest, talents, and aspirations. Therefore, students’ interest level in chemistry, as one of the options for elective subject program is a necessary to determined. This study aims to determine the level of student interest in choosing chemistry as an elective subject, so that teachers could find the best alternatives to increase students’ interest. The research was conducted with quantitative analysis methods and descriptive statistical approaches, using 139 students of grade 11th who have chosen chemistry as the elective subject. The level of students’ interest in chemistry is measured by students’ interest questionnaire. The questionnaire was adopted and developed by aspects of students’ interest: teachers’ role, students’ perception, students’ intrinsic motivation in learning, and meaningful learning of lesson. Content validation test using Aiken formula showed the questionnaire validity is very high, as value 1. Based on the analysis, the result stated that the level of students’ interest was included as high category with 76,11%. All aspects are categorized as high, aspects of the teacher's role in learning with 77.44%, students’ perceptions with 73.63%, students’ intrinsic motivation 78.99% and the meaningfulness of learning lesson with 74.37%.
