The purpose of this study is to verify the validity of a Korean Ayurveda mind-body balance education program, suggest directions for developing a mind-body healing education program , and provide basic data for developing a mind-body balance education program. To this end, the first expert verification was conducted on 10 people to verify the suitability of the design and content of the Korean Ayurveda mind-body balance education program. A second expert verification was conducted on five additional people. As a result, it was confirmed that the verification items were suitable. In addition, experts who participated in the implementation verification evaluated that participation in the training was helpful in cultivating mind-body balance and self-healing abilities, was of practical help in daily life, and were overall satisfied with the training. Korean Ayurveda mind-body balance education programs have been shown to help individuals develop self-healing abilities to maintain their physical and mental health. Since self-healing ability is an important competency required throughout one's life, the Korean Ayurveda mind-body balance education program can be said to be meaningful as an aspect of lifelong education.

Exploring Challenges Faced by Engineering Students in Graphic Preparations of Perspective Geometry

Perspective geometry is a fundamental, challenging, and captivating subject within the engineering bachelor's degree program. It holds significant importance in developing graphic skills, analytical abilities, sketching proficiency, and comprehension of drawings. Moreover, it plays a crucial role in organizing the architectural components of a bachelor's thesis. However, the teaching and learning of perspective geometry often reveal various difficulties and shortcomings. Moreover, one of the various systems of symbols and languages created by global cultures is the graphical language, which is an exceptional and unparalleled language for understanding scientific and technical information. This language is considered the oldest international language. Every visual piece of information in various processes of human life has been formed through the graphical language, which is composed of various geometric shapes. In this research, data has been gathered from the perspectives of first-year students from the 2013 batch regarding the difficulties encountered in perspective geometry. A questionnaire was distributed to collect their opinions, and three graphical tasks with different levels of complexity were given to the students. The results obtained from this study indicate that employing suitable teaching methods and providing adequate resources can alleviate most of the learning difficulties associated with graphic skills. Instructors also play a pivotal role in resolving learning obstacles. Therefore, efforts should be made to enhance the quality of teaching graphic subjects by updating the content and curriculum of educational programs and improving teaching methods through the use of technology. In higher education institutions, conditions for fostering students' professional knowledge, enhancing their ability to draw maps and create technical documents can be facilitated through computer graphics education. Updating the teaching methods plays a crucial role in improving the quality of graphic education. The mentioned factors provide a suitable environment for the growth of graphic knowledge and the implementation of projects related to professional subjects.

Exploring Patient Needs and Preferences in CKD Education: A Cross-Sectional Survey Study.

Despite efforts to educate individuals with chronic kidney disease (CKD) and thereby improve outcomes, studies have shown that a significant number of patients still report poor CKD knowledge. Thus, understanding patient needs and preferences is crucial for the development and implementation of an effective CKD educational program. A paper survey was distributed to CKD patients ≥ 21 years at a tertiary care hospital's outpatient nephrology clinic in Rochester, New York. Data on patient demographics, print and technological literacies, and preferences regarding topics, instructors, class formats, session frequency, duration, and peer support were gathered. Of the 337 patients, the mean age was 65 years (± 12.33 years), and the self-identified races were: American Indian or Alaska Native (<1%), Asian (3%), Black or African American (12.17%), Native Hawaiian or other Pacific Islander (<1%), White (83%), and Other (2%). Most patients (69%) never needed help with health instructions and 68% of patients used a smartphone or computer everyday. Key topics identified by patients included the definitions of CKD, creatinine, GFR and kidney diet. 73% of patients desired more than basic CKD information with 1 in 5 even wanting to know "everything a doctor knows." 46% were willing to attend classes and 33% preferred using digital (video, computer, smartphone) modalities. Patients were willing to attend an average of 3.6 classes and, most preferred hour-long classes. Most patients (46%) preferred a doctor as educator and 53% expressed interest in connecting with fellow patients for peer support. Most CKD patients are interested in comprehensive education about their disease. This research may offer insights into the optimal content and delivery of CKD educational programs by elaborating on patients' needs and the integration of online modalities to deliver content. Future person-centered educational programs for people with CKD are needed.

Strategies for Developing Professional Competencies in Pre-service Teachers’ Educational Internship and Teaching Support Program：Mediated by Teacher Self-efficacy

Using teachers' self-efficacy in Bandura's social cognitive theory as a mediator, this study work on how to promote teachers' professional competence in educational internship and teaching support programs for pre-service teachers in order to solve the problem of insufficient teachers' vocational competence in pre-service teacher training, and to provide high-quality teachers for basic education. The study begins with the concept and current status of implementation of the educational internship and teaching support program, and provides an introduction to the main ways to develop the professional competencies of pre-service teachers. Through the four major sources of self-efficacy summarized by Bandura, it analyzes the generation and development of teachers' self-efficacy in the educational internship and teaching support program. It is suggested that colleges and universities and supported schools should promote the enhancement of teachers' ethics, pedagogical competence, student management competence and self-development competence through various strategies such as improving the content of educational internship and teaching program, enhancing external policy and emotional support, strengthening the guidance of educational internship teaching and stimulating the intrinsic developmental motivation.

HIGHER EDUCATION IN CARTOGRAPHY DURING THE YEARS OF INDEPENDENCE OF UKRAINE: STATUS, PROBLEMS AND PROSPECTS

The article is dedicated to the research of the current state, identification of urgent issues, and outlining the nearest prospects for the development of educational services in the field of higher education training in cartography in Ukraine. To achieve the goal, the authors chose a comprehensive set of general scientific and special methods that constitute its methodology: analysis and synthesis, deduction, classification, and informational. A systemic approach has been applied at all stages of the research as a method for effectively organizing the study of the domestic higher education system in cartography. The universities in Ukraine that are currently involved in the training of professionals with higher cartographic education at existing levels have been identified. The indicators of the graduation of cartography specialists from the Department of Geodesy and Cartography at Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv from 1992 to the present have been analyzed in terms of quantity (914 individuals in full-time and part-time forms of education), educational degrees obtained (master’s — 440; specialist — 372; bachelor — 102), and gender (407 males and 507 females). Additionally, it was determined that during the investigated period, 41 PhD in geographic cartography were trained in the country, 35 of whom, together with 8 doctors of science, currently contribute to the further training of necessary specialists for the country. The article also characterizes the content of educational programs for cartographers at the bachelor’s and master’s levels, identifies existing problems, and formulates directions for their solution at the institutional and local levels. The main contribution of this research lies in emphasizing the necessity to enhance the quality of education for professionals with higher qualifications in cartography as a strategic specialization and profession for Ukraine, taking into consideration the national security and defense tasks.

IMPLEMENTATION OF ENTREPRENEURSHIP IDEAS IN EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS FOR THE TRAINING OF SPECIALISTS: THE EUROPEAN EXPERIENCE

The article analyzes the experience of implementing entrepreneurship ideas in the content of educational programs for training specialists in the countries of the European Union (Austria, Finland, France, Sweden, Spain, Croatia, Italy, Latvia) at the pan-European, national and institutional levels. The pan-European level provides for the orientation of EU educational policy regarding the development of regulatory documents and recommendations on initiatives that regulate the creation of a pan-European structure to ensure and coordinate the goals and results of entrepreneurial education at the EU level. The national level includes a number of strategies, plans, actions, and legislative acts developed by state bodies to adapt the process of entrepreneurship education in a specific country and involves the design of strategic and target orientations and the implementation of organizational measures that activate the motivation of the country's citizens for self-realization in the entrepreneurial vector of professional activity. The institutional level is revealed through the integration of extroverted and introverted directions of entrepreneurial education in higher educational institutions of EU countries, which determine strategic, organizational, and pedagogical decisions and actions in higher educational institutions regarding the introduction of entrepreneurship ideas into the content of specialist training through a productive partnership between: the state, educational institutions and business institutions. The main problems of the implementation of entrepreneurship ideas in the content of educational programs for the training of specialists in the EU countries are highlighted: the lack of conceptual and methodological foundations for the formation of entrepreneurial competence of specialists in various industries; lack of motivation of teachers regarding the implementation of entrepreneurship ideas in educational courses based on an interdisciplinary approach; underfunding of innovative laboratories in higher education institutions of EU member states; unsettled mechanisms of partnership relations between education providers, business institutions and other interested parties at the international level.

Philosophy of education in the context of digital transformation of public life

The article is devoted to the study of the relationship between the philosophy of education and modern technological changes in society. The relevance of the study is determined by the rapidity of digital transformation, which transforms the educational landscape and requires rethinking approaches to learning.The purpose of the article is to develop recommendations aimed at overcoming the problems that hinder the transformation of education in Ukraine in the context of active digital transformation of public life.To achieve this goal, the study performed a number of tasks: the essence and content of the philosophy of education are considered; the main emphases of the new philosophy of education are identified, such as the creation of an innovative, technology-oriented learning environment, focus on deep digital transformation; the main technologies and developments that determine digital transformation in education are analyzed; the current challenges of digital transformation in education are highlighted; based on the results obtained, recommendations are put forward to overcome such challenges. The study used general scientific methods of cognition: induction and deduction, analysis and synthesis, association and analogy.The study found that the revolutionary development of innovative technologies has called into question the established principles of modern education. Therefore, a paradigm shift in the philosophy of education is needed, which should focus on creating an innovative, technology-oriented learning environment and be strategically aligned with comprehensive digital transformation. However, the pace of digital transformation in Ukraine's education system is rather slow, due to unequal access to digital technologies, insufficient digital literacy, lack of quality and relevant content and resources, unstable and expensive Internet connections in some regions, and insufficient attention to cybersecurity. Addressing these challenges requires significant investments in building digital infrastructure, providing strong support to educators in mastering and using digital technologies, developing and implementing high-quality digital content for educational programs, and creating mechanisms to improve its accessibility. In addition, it is necessary to introduce reliable measures to protect educational institutions from potential cyber threats.The practical significance of the study lies in the possibility of applying the results obtained to the development and implementation of digital transformation strategies in the educational sector of Ukraine.

IMPORTANCE OF IMPLEMENTATION OF SERVICE LEARNING IN SPORT AND HEALTH HIGHER EDUCATION AREA

Service learning is increasingly recognized as a pedagogical approach providing benefits to students, faculties, educational institutions, communities, and society. It is challenge-based and a credit-based activity with many confirmed benefits in higher education areas such as developing students’ academic and personal skills, critical thinking, teamwork, and effective communication. The main aim of the research is to analyse differences in attitudes related to service learning between students who participated in academic courses with service-learning topics, and students who have no servicelearning knowledge on an academic level. The research was conducted on a sample of 88 students of Physical Education aged between 20 and 24 divided into two subsamples. Students in the experimental group (N=30) were attendees of an academic course where service learning themes were implemented. Students in the control group (N=58) did not participate in the programs with service learning themes on an academic level. SELEB questionnaire with six categories: civic responsibility, interpersonal skills, leadership ability, ability to apply knowledge, general life skills, and critical thinking, were used for measuring service learning benefits for students. Differences in research groups were noted for all six categories implying that implementation of service learning content in higher education programs of physical education and sports can improve students’ attitudes and quality of higher education.

Identifying gaps between research results and education

Although research results can enhance the content of education programs at various university levels, many important research results are only partly covered in major university-level textbooks. It is more difficult to transfer contributions from research results to practitioners if the former is not part of regular education programs. Here, we identify areas where researchers and educators can bridge the gap between theory and research results based on empirical studies, allowing findings to be more easily implemented by practitioners in situations that can improve their output. We take the use and accuracy of security and financial statement analysis as our prime target to examine empirical research results. Financial statement analysis and security valuation are two important applications in accounting and finance, and it is possible to measure changes in the models’ parameters and the effect these have on the outcome. We focus on five aspects of security and financial statement analysis: analysts’ use of valuation models, their estimates and accuracy, peer selection using multiples, valuation models target price accuracy, and differences in industry-specific valuation models and valuation factors. We find that most of the important research results are not referenced in major financial accounting textbooks.

Analysis of the Content of Bachelors’ Training in Communications at the Universities of the USA

The relevance of the article. Today is characterized by great attention to the communicative component in all areas of society, because it is communication that plays an important role in the establishment of a new socio-cultural order and in the reproduction of its structures. Such challenges place rather high demands on both personal and professional qualities of future communication specialists. Therefore, the training of mobile, creative, competent, successful, competitive communication specialists in the conditions of socio-economic changes in Ukraine is the main task facing higher education. It is possible to ensure the proper quality of training of domestic communication specialists based on the creative use of pedagogical experience accumulated throughout the history of the development of education in Ukraine and foreign countries. Despite the large number of studies devoted to the actual issues of training specialists, the experience of innovative approaches to the provision of educational services in the USA has not yet been sufficiently studied. Meanwhile, the rapid application of innovation in the organization of the educational process, in particular in the field of training mobile, creative, competent, successful, competitive communication specialists, is a necessary condition for the development of Ukrainian society.&#x0D; The purpose of the article — study of the experience of the USA regarding the organization of professional training of bachelors in communications, research of the content and features of the curricula of leading American educational institutions that offer education at the educational level “Bachelor of Communications” with the aim of using such approaches in the practice of Ukrainian universities.&#x0D; The methodology. Analytical method, methods of description, comparison and generalization were applied for the research.&#x0D; The results. The issue of training communication specialists in the leading universities of the United States of America in the bachelor’s program was considered. Data on the popularity and demand of specialists who have completed a bachelor’s degree in communications in the USA are presented. A review of the content of bachelor’s training programs in communications at more than 20 US universities was carried out. The peculiarities of bachelor’s training in communications at the University of Miami (The University of Miami) and Florida International University (Florida International University, FIU) are analyzed. Emphasis is placed on the need to study, adapt and implement the positive experience of US universities regarding the training of communication specialists in Ukrainian universities.&#x0D; The scientific novelty. This study offers an analysis of the content of bachelor’s programs of leading American educational institutions that offer studies at the educational level “Bachelor of Communications” in 2023.&#x0D; The practical significance. Research materials and conclusions can be used to adapt and implement the experience of US universities in training communication specialists in Ukrainian universities, in particular, to improve the content of educational programs.&#x0D; Conclusions. Effective development of modern communications is impossible without improving the quality of training bachelors in communications in higher educational institutions of various types and forms of ownership in Ukraine. To solve this problem, it is necessary to take into account the experience accumulated throughout the history of the development of education in Ukraine and foreign countries. Currently, the USA is one of the most popular places to get a bachelor’s degree in communications. The US universities offer a wide selection of bachelor’s programs in communications, among which the most popular are: Bachelor of Arts in Communications; Bachelor of Arts in Organizational and Strategic Communication; Bachelor of Business and Communications; Bachelor of Digital Media and Communications; Bachelor of Science in Interpersonal Communication; Bachelor of Science in Corporate Communications. The curriculum emphasizes students’ understanding of communication in a variety of contexts (interpersonal, intercultural, organizational, political, and mass communications) and prepares future professionals to be effective and well-rounded communicators. Such specialized skills will allow students to choose from a wide range of career opportunities after completing the program in a variety of industries.

DemenTitude® ‐ Applying the Concept of “LAN” with 16‐grid Dementia Care Model through the Voice of People with Dementia

AbstractUnderstanding the self‐perception of people with dementia and their interaction with the surrounding others is highly vital to exploring the unmet needs of people with dementia. In preserving the personhood through the person‐centred care approach, the synchronization with the experience of the person with dementia and listening to his/her voice of interpreting the surrounding things should be promoted. What is the meaning of the dialogues and the behavior of people with dementia? How can the “LAN” with 16‐grid dementia care model be applied to guide the care providers and the care partners in maintaining a good quality of care? In‐depth interviews and participatory observations were conducted during interviews in the community care and residential care homes of Hong Kong. Following the theoretical framework blending interpretivism and the sociocultural perspective on dementia, the finding was not only being used for getting more familiar with the experience of people with dementia but also designing the content of educational programme to the care providers and the care partners in Hong Kong.“LAN” model stands for “L‐listening to the experience and voice of people with dementia; A‐assess the condition of people with dementia through person‐centred care approach; N‐Needs of people with dementia to preserve personhood”. As the care providers and the care partners are trying to synchronize the experience of people with dementia, the subjective views and feeling of people with dementia formed by their interpretation will be the key to respond their unmet needs. A particular educational programme with 16‐grid of dementia care model was designed for the care providers and care partners. Focusing on the synchronization of the experience of people with dementia with LAN model, the participants got reflection and insights on this idea. In satisfying the needs of people with dementia, the participant should learn from the lens of people with dementia and VIPS approach. A proper caring attitude with this “LAN” model, called as DemenTitude®, was introduced. The evaluation of the educational training showed a significant improvement in the positive perception of dementia among the participants.

Undermining the Moral Obligations of Manhood Acts

Hybrid masculinities—men's integration of previously marginalized characteristics into acceptable performances of manhood—are emergent in contemporary gender studies. While some scholars see egalitarian promise in these configurations of manhood, their utility in improving gender equality is contested. Drawing from an ethnography of a profeminist Batterer Intervention Program (BIP), I utilize prominent symbolic interactionist theories to explore how men in the program were resocialized to a hybrid hegemonic masculinity. I position defining the situation as fundamental to manhood acts and show how rules in the BIP alter establishment of the working consensus, prompting resocialization even when participants reject ideological or educational program content. The process of resocialization is bolstered by masculinity affirmations deployed when men exhibit desired traits, but undermined by false indicators of change and protective practices deployed by other men. At their most severe, these patterns resulted in symbolic egalitarians—men who promptly adopt the progressive sign‐equipment of the hybrid masculinity, but actively shore up their gendered power. I conclude that awareness of these processes can improve men's interventions, and demonstrate the effectiveness of symbolic interactionism for explaining how hybrid masculinities result in various fields of egalitarian outcomes informed by other theories of masculinity.

Онтологические и аксиологические аспекты в оценке современного образования

The modern socio-cultural situation is characterized by the change of value coordinates, the breakdown of the familiar world and significant transformations in various spheres and areas. Most significantly, these changes affect the field of education, which is an essential element of spiritual culture. The content of educational pro-grams reflects the demands of modern society to the individual, to the complex of those competencies that he should possess. In the life of an individual and society as a whole, education should become an instrument of humanization, which is aimed at cognition and improvement of the world and oneself. In modern socio-cultural life, education is a significant sphere in which the development and realization of creative and spiritual poten-tial takes place. Education cannot be characterized as a certain amount of knowledge broadcast from the teacher to the student, its primary task is to create conditions for the process of cognition of the individual him-self and the surrounding world. Formation of worldview culture, which includes learned and accepted universal values, aspirations to improve their personal and professional qualities, is the aim and value of modern educa-tion.

Determination of the priority competencies of general practitioners (family doctors) in the Russian Federation: rationale and research protocol

The outcomes of competency-based medical education (CBME), is becoming increasingly important, especially for general practitioners (GPs). The research team of the National Medical Research Center for Therapy and Preventive Medicine, with the support of the Russian Society for the Prevention of Noncommunicable Diseases, initiated a study "Management of the quality of training of general practitioners (family doctors)", the aim of which is to determine the priority competencies of GPs (family doctors) of the Russian Federation. As the main research approach in the ascertaining experiment, the Delphi method is proposed to use. The respondents are GPs with experience in practical healthcare, general practice residents, teachers of departments of general practice.Conclusion. The planned research is of high significance for the theory and practice of professional education, in particular the training of GPs. Scientific rationale of GP qualification characteristics, which are the target component of the educational system for training GPs, will make it possible to determine the patterns of the educational process and the principles for selecting the content of educational programs, as well as methodological systems and conditions for training GPs. Ranking competencies according to their importance in professional activities by GPs (family doctors) of the Russian Federation will help determine key competencies and will make it possible to see the position of doctors in the priority of GP activities, which is directly related to assessing the healthcare quality

СОВРЕМЕННЫЕ МИРОВЫЕ ТЕНДЕНЦИИ РАЗВИТИЯ ВЫСШЕГО МЕДИЦИНСКОГО ОБРАЗОВАНИЯ В США, ВЕЛИКОБРИТАНИИ, ФРАНЦИИ И КИТАЕ

Introduction. Higher medical education is one of the most sought-after and elite degrees worldwide. Systems of higher medical education differ from country to country, although they have certain features in common. Core differences are as follows: Training duration at various stages, contents of educational programs, learning technologies, etc. Much attention is paid to physicians training, which is determined by the high social significance of medical education. Aim: To provide an overview of the contemporary global trends in the development of higher medical education in the USA, Great Britain, France, and China. Materials and Methods. World literature was analyzed on trends in the development of higher medical education. Results and Discussion. Development of the healthcare system in the UK requires an integrated approach that considers various aspects in higher medical education, personnel policy, and workplace management. French healthcare system is experiencing various problems, such as the affordability of medical services and staffing shortages in remote regions. The Government of France shall continue to invest in healthcare and address the challenges to ensure universal access to quality medical services, including through its higher education system. US medical education keeps pace with the challenges healthcare systems are facing in the 21st century. To address today’s challenges, US medical education is taking a more interdisciplinary and inclusive approach, focusing on public health, interdisciplinary teamwork, and community-based training. Chinese medical universities pay more attention to practical skills and to integrating various disciplines in training, which allows graduates to be the best medical experts able to solve complex practical problems. Conclusions. Global trends identified herein in the development of higher medical education in the USA, Great Britain, France, and China require reflection, while the best practices should be introduced into the Russian system of higher education. However, approaches to be implemented should be first adapted to the historical, cultural, social, geographical, political, and other realities of Russia.

The article summarizes the experience of training music teachers, combining the traditional music-pedagogical content of university educational programs with the introduction of students to various forms of electronic music creativity. The relevance is due to the fact that electronic music creativity based on the mastery of music-computer technologies and electronic musical instruments is of great importance in modern music art and education. In this regard, there is a need for special training of teachers for professional activity in this direction, which is confirmed by scientific research of scientists devoted to various aspects of electronic music creativity (I. B. Gorbunova, I. M. Krasilnikov, A. A. Pankova, V. O. Malashchenko, etc.). At the same time, the study of the content of bachelor's degree programs in pedagogical universities of Russia has shown that electronic music creativity is not sufficiently reflected in the educational process. The aim of the research is to provide theoretical grounding and practical confirmation of the need to include disciplines related to electronic music creativity in the educational programs of pedagogical universities. The study, conducted in 2013-2023, involved students of the Faculty of Art and Music Education of the Chuvash State Pedagogical University. Research methods: theoretical analysis of scientific and methodological literature; analysis of the current state of university practice in the field of the problem under study; empirical research methods (observation, conversation, survey); retrospective analysis of their own teaching experience; analysis of the obtained data. As a result of the conducted work the insufficient attention to the indicated problem in the system of university training of teachers-musicians was revealed, the necessity of introducing students to electronic musical creativity in the process of training in the university was substantiated, the effectiveness of disciplines of this orientation in the development of cognitive interest in learning activities and creative self-realization of students was confirmed, classroom and extracurricular forms of introducing students to electronic musical creativity were shown. Conclusions. Mastering of electronic music creation by future teachers is a necessary condition for the professional training of a modern music teacher. It will contribute to the successful training of teachers who are able to professionally use the possibilities of music and computer technologies in the pedagogical process.

Abstract: Introduction. The system of personnel training for internal affairs bodies of the Russian Federation has a task to implement professional educational programmes with a short period of training: to increase the recruitment for training in the specialty of secondary professional education 40.02.02 «Law enforcement» and to start the recruitment for training in the direction of higher education (bachelor’s degree) 40.03.02 «Ensuring law and order». Secondary professional education and practical oriented bachelor’s degree programmes should be filled with sets of professional competencies that can be measured and assessed. The authors propose to use control tasks (norms) of special professional training as measurable professional competences. There are no norms on special professional training (except for norms on physical and firearms training) for police officers. This fact determines the relevance of the research.&#x0D; Research methods: dialectical method of scientific cognition and closely related to it private-scientific and special methods.&#x0D; Results. The necessity of taking into account the experience of implementation of professional educational programmes of practical oriented bachelor’s degree and secondary professional education of the Federal project «Professionalism» is shown. The theoretical result of the research is the formulation of the definition of the normative of special professional training of police officers and the criteria of classification&#x0D; of these normatives. The methodology of validation and development of norms is proposed. An example of practical use of theoretical and methodological results of the research is given – a group of norms of service and combat training of police officers and their approximate list are presented.&#x0D; Conclusions. The use of standards of special professional training and control tasks developed on their basis in the educational process will ensure the practice-oriented content of professional educational programmes. Control tasks and standards should be developed on the basis of studying the most effective techniques and methods of actions of police officers in carrying out operational-service and service-combat tasks. One of the promising directions to reduce the adaptation period of graduates of educational institutions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation to duty activities is the implementation of professional educational programmes in a network form with the organisation of educational and practical centres (clusters) of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation. The means of assessing the professional competencies of graduates of educational organisations of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia and the means of testing the special professional preparedness of police officers of the corresponding categories should be identical. Prospects for further research include the development of control tasks (standards) for academic disciplines (modules), designed to assess the formation of professional competencies of graduates of educational institutions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, based on the areas of training, mastered by students of professional educational programmes.

A Comparative Study of Student Selection Systems in Korean and American Teacher Training Universities Focusing on Music Teachers

This study aims to enhance the system for nurturing elementary school music teachers in South Korea through a comparative analysis with the United States, focusing on the student selection methods and curricular approaches in teacher training universities. By examining the differences between the two countries, particularly in relation to the admission process and the content of music education programs, this research seeks to identify potential areas for improvement in South Korea's teacher preparation system. The findings reveal significant differences between the two countries in their approach to selecting pre-music teachers. All 10 universities of education in Korea do not require applicants to demonstrate prior musical knowledge or proficiency in playing musical instruments for admission into the music education department. In contrast, the music education departments of the 10 universities in the United States mandate auditions, indicating a higher level of preparedness expected from applicants. It shows that minimum preparation to become a music teacher, handling musical instruments, basic musical knowledge has a great impact on teaching music and the teachers’ own efficacy.

IMPROVEMENT OF THE DEGREE PROFESSIONAL TRAINING SYSTEM FOR PENITENTIARY STAFF: EXPERIENCE OF UKRAINE AND USA

Reformation of the penitentiary system of Ukraine requires an increase of requirements for the quality of staff training of the penitentiary institutions, detention centers, camps for holding prisoners of war and probation bodies. It is necessary to state that the implementation of the tasks of the state criminal and legal policy is impossible without studying the leading foreign practices in the field of training of penitentiary staff, since the level of society’s security depends on the level of their professional competence. The study of the training system of penitentiary staff in the USA is relevant for Ukraine. The USA remains the flagship in the development of the theory and practice of the democratic development of the penitentiary system and has a clearly formed structural and logical system of their training. Therefore, the purpose of the study was to conduct a comparative analysis of the professional training system of penitentiary staff in Ukraine and the USA and to determine on this basis the pedagogical conditions for the formation and improvement of their professional competence. The results of the study proved that the realities of the quality of the staff professional activity of the State Criminal and Executive Service of Ukraine, the system of degree professional training of penitentiary staff need improvement.&#x0D; During the study, the main directions for improving the process of penitentiary staff training were identified, namely: creating an innovative educational environment, updating the content of educational programs and introducing innovative educational technologies, providing pedagogical conditions for the modern professional competencies complex formation of penitentiary staff, revising the terms of their training and improving their qualifications depending from the type of official and professional activity. Proposed pedagogical conditions, among which the most important are the professional orientation of the training content of penitentiary staff taking into account the specifics and profile of professional activity based on selection criteria, the combination of theoretical training with the acquisition of skills and abilities of their use in accordance with professional tasks with the help of certain interactive training methods, internship during education, will provide an opportunity to form the modern professional competence of the State Criminal and Executive Service of Ukraine staff. Further study of foreign experience in the training of penitentiary staff will contribute to the development of an effective model of penitentiary staff training and will bring it closer to the requirements of international standards.
