a Workshop on Temporomandibular Disorders (TMD) was held November 1 and 2, 1988 at Northwestern University in Chicago. This was the first official action by the ADA since it conducted the President's Conference on Temporomandibular Disorders in 1982. A panel of 11 authorities, representing the academic, research, and clinical communities, responded to a series of prepared questions relating to current knowledge in the field.
