This study aims to determine the effect of the discovery learning model assisted by animation media on students' conceptual understanding abilities in science lessons at SDN Cipinang 2 semester II of the 2023/2024 academic year. The subjects of this study were 15 students in class V A and 15 in class V B. The research method used by the author is a quasi-experiment with observation and test research techniques. The data analysis technique used SPSS Statistic 27.0 for Windows software with normality tests, homogeneity tests, and hypothesis tests using t-tests. From the results of the hypothesis test, it was concluded that there was no difference between the pretest of the control class and the experimental class and there was a difference between the posttest of the control class and the experimental class. Then the results of the N-Gain test in the experimental class obtained an average result of 82.4% in the high category, so the use of the discovery learning model was quite effective. Furthermore, the results of the effect size calculation obtained significant results from the use of the discovery learning model assisted by animation media to improve students' conceptual understanding abilities, with a result of 0.9 including the large category. Based on these facts, the author concludes that the discovery learning model assisted by animation media has an influence on the conceptual understanding ability of students at SDN Cipinang 2.
