Digital innovation is fundamentally changing the business landscape, driving advances in products, processes and business models. It involves complex interactions between technological and social aspects, creating ambiguity between process and product. It is important to understand how digital innovation impacts business process management. This study uses a literature approach to explore the concepts of digital innovation and business process management. The research was conducted by analyzing related literature from various academic and professional sources, including scientific journals, books and industry publications. Digital innovation not only creates technological progress, but also changes social processes and organizational structures. This phenomenon can be seen in platforms such as Uber or DevOps, which show a close connection between product and process. Digital innovation also enables continuous evolution and improvement of products and processes over time. Business process management is becoming increasingly important in facing the challenges and opportunities brought by digital innovation. Agile and adaptive process management strategies are needed to cope with rapid changes in the digital business environment. From the literature analysis, it appears that integration between digital innovation and business process management is very important. To optimize the benefits of digital innovation, organizations need to adopt an agile and adaptive approach in their process management. This involves continuous adaptation to technological and social changes as well as increased collaboration between various functions within the organization. Suggestions for future research are to conduct more in-depth empirical studies to understand the concrete impact of digital innovation on business process management, as well as to develop a practical framework for applying process management principles in the context of digital innovation.

Updating the aspects related to the management of enterprises in the conditions of digitalization is becoming extremely important. Now it is important for the management to ensure the activities of enterprises, taking into account the features of the transformation in the direction of the digital economy, to foresee possible related problems, and to develop scenarios for reducing the negative consequences and strengthening the positive results from their activities. The purpose of the article is to present the conceptual foundations of the formation and development of modern concepts of business process management and their use at enterprises of the real sector of the economy in the conditions of digital transformations. The theoretical basis of this scientific work consists of the best practices of managing business processes of the real sector of the economy in the conditions of digital transformations, which are given in works of a theoretical and practical nature. To implement this task and achieve the set goal, the article uses methods of graphic interpretation of the results of analysis and generalization, methods of monographic analysis, and synthesis. It has been proven that a complex of resource and business process management based on digital tools and techniques for improving business processes can provide significant market advantages to enterprises. It is substantiated that the transformation of modern methods and techniques of enterprise management is currently of paramount importance for its sustainable operation and competitiveness, achieving maximum results in the future. All researched approaches to the management of business processes by the author are divided into concepts aimed at improving the work of the enterprise (or those that involve gradual development), those aimed at the radical transformation of its activity (or those that involve innovative development) and intermediate ones. It was determined that the assignment of the management concept to the approach, which involves gradual or innovative development, usually depends on the degree of radical changes that it brings to the already existing practices and structures of enterprise management. The advantages and disadvantages of approaches to the management of business processes of the enterprise in the conditions of digitalization have been formed. It was concluded that the evolution of approaches to enterprise management takes place in the direction of greater flexibility, integration and active interaction with personnel and the external environment. At the same time, it is important to constantly improve and adapt management practices to modern challenges and opportunities.

Voices of Learners: An In-Depth Analysis of Business Process Management Course Experiences

In Business Process Management (BPM) education, understanding student experiences is paramount for continuous improvement. This research presents an in-depth examination of the BPM course, capturing the voices and perspectives of learners. Through a mixed-methods approach, combining hypothetical rating surveys with qualitative analysis, we explore student feedback to uncover nuanced insights beyond numerical ratings. This research begins with hypothetical ratings provided by students, offering a quantitative foundation for the subsequent qualitative exploration. The analysis reveals common themes, both positive and critical, shedding light on the efficacy of the course structure, teaching methods, and overall learning experience. Students' reflections on practical application, collaboration, and the impact of the course on their understanding of BPM concepts are examined, providing a comprehensive view of the learning journey. By triangulating hypothetical ratings with qualitative insights, the research identifies areas for enhancement and highlights positive aspects that contribute significantly to the learning journey. These findings offer valuable recommendations for refining the BPM curriculum and fostering a more engaging and effective educational environment. The integration of both quantitative and qualitative data ensures a holistic understanding of student experiences, guiding future improvements in BPM education.

Modeling of strategic management of business processes of production and entrepreneurial structures

The article substantiates the theoretical and methodological provisions and develops practical recommendations for modeling the strategic management of business processes of production and business structures. The necessity of reformatting the structure and content of the system of strategic management of business processes of industrial enterprises is proved. The key principles of the system of strategic management of business processes of industrial enterprises are offered. The concept of business process management of industrial enterprises has been formed, emphasizing that effective business process management involves their improvement and optimization. It is proved that the optimization of business processes is a necessary tool to ensure the efficiency of enterprises in modern conditions. It is proved that in order to make effective management decisions it is advisable to use process and project approaches. As part of the process approach, it is proposed to use the Workflow method, which involves approaches to accelerate adaptation and optimization, and reduce the response time of the enterprise to dynamic changes in the business environment. As part of the concept, a mathematical model was developed that characterizes the system of distribution of manufactured products for sale in domestic and foreign markets. It is determined that the task of optimization is to calculate the specific volumes of products that need to be sold in each of the markets. The main results of effective implementation of strategic management of business processes of industrial enterprises are highlighted. The proposed developments will help improve the quality of products and services of enterprises in order to fully meet the requirements of consumers.

Application of Integrated Logistics in Foreign Economic Business Processes of Enterprises of the Processing Industry

The information concept of logistics is to formulate the general problem of managing material flows within an industry or a separate business process. The marketing concept of logistics focuses on the organization of the logistics process in the field of distribution and distribution of products. The concept of integrated logistics is to use in the management of a system tool to regulate material flows to achieve business goals.

Software Defect Prediction and Analysis Using Enhanced Random Forest (extRF) Technique: A Business Process Management and Improvement Concept in IOT-Based Application Processing Environment

Software defect prediction is a thriving study area in the realm of software engineering and processing in the IOT-based environment. Defect prediction creates a list of defective source code artifacts so that quality assurance companies may successfully assign limited methods for certifying programming things by investing more effort into the bad source code. Defect prediction can assist estimate maintenance times, which can help with quality assurance, dependability, security, and cost reduction. Many predictions in IOT-based processing environment and business process management and enhancement challenges still exist in defect expectation ponders, and there are various noteworthy concerns. In addition, it is difficult to apply these methodologies practically because most of the investigations verified in open-source programming ventures with the goal that present forecast models might not work for other programming items including business programming. Investigating security issues in cross-project deformity expectation is required since if we have more accessible restrictive datasets, the assessment of forecast models will be more stable. In general, every defect is essential regarding quality, reliability, security, and cost-effectiveness. Therefore, an enhanced and improved maintenance schedule is required to acknowledge forecasting techniques. Therefore, in this article, we have evaluated different Semi-Supervised Learning (SSL) techniques, among which Extended Random Forest (extRF) technique is one for defective system prediction. The Extended Random Forest (extRF) technique is the extended form of the Random Forest (RF), which is a supervised learning technique into semi-supervised learning getting the hang of refining every arbitrary tree given an individual-training worldview. An enhancing technique is recommended, and a weighted mixture of irregular trees creates the final forecast results.

A SOFTWARE SOLUTION TO WORK WITH A DATABASE OF BUSINESS PROCESS MODELS AND ANALYZE THEIR STRUCTURAL MEASURES

Business process modeling is one of the main tools of the BPM (Business Process Management) concept. With the help of business process modeling, business scenarios can be presented in the form of graphical models that can be easily understood by both information technology (IT) professionals and non-IT professionals – business analysts, software customers, department heads, top managers, and other stakeholders interested in business process improvement. Business process improvement is usually done through the automation of activities, which were identified as “bottlenecks” after analysis. However, it is possible to analyze a business process model only if it is clear and correct in terms of compliance with both the notation used and the real business process it depicts. This paper considers the analysis of BPMN (Business Process Model and Notation) business process model structural measures. It is assumed that business process models, which by their structural features violate rules of business process modeling, are neither understandable nor suitable for further work with them, which also can lead to various errors occurring at the stage of business process analysis, as well as at the stage of its improvement and implementation of proposed changes, i.e., during development, testing and maintenance of distinct software components, information system modules or BPM-system scenarios that ensure business process execution. Therefore, in this paper, we propose to identify the main elements of BPMN business process models and their structural measures that affect models’ understandability and maintainability and could be sources of errors. Considering selected measures, it is proposed to calculate respective values for a large collection of BPMN business process models, and then study compliance with theoretical business process modeling guidelines on practice when real business process models are designed. In order to provide efficient storage and processing of a large collection of BPMN business process models data, there were developed a database, and a software component. Results of analysis of BPMN business process model structural measures obtained using developed database and software component are demonstrated and discussed. The conclusion is made, as well as future research directions in this field are formulated.

BUSINESS PROCESS MODELING TO IMPROVE THE ENTERPRISE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM

The article contains the results of research on the feasibility of modeling business processes. The modeling procedure itself is necessary to determine the level of efficiency of each business process, identify duplication of operations, a clear understanding of the roles of each participant and owner of the process. Business processes can be divided into production and management. Coverage of the quality system of the enterprise of all areas of activity involves modeling and analysis of each business process at all stages of the life cycle of the enterprise. The availability of various information systems for modeling, optimization and participation in enterprise management facilitates the work of analysts, but requires the definition of uniform rules and a clear reflection of information flows in modeling. The results of modeling are a clear visualization, a description of the process. The documentation contains the sequence of all procedures, their provision and control. Models allow you to detect redundancies and duplication, as well as clearly defined moments of beginning, end, transition from one process to another. The proposed concept combines a strategy based on a balanced system and detail of each process. The implementation of this concept is individual for each individual enterprise. The relevance of research is also confirmed by the need to form management hierarchical links between enterprise development strategy and business processes models of management, production and provision of services, management interaction and information flows. Among many concepts of using business process models, the most developed is the concept of business process management, which is based on the use of BPM-systems in the enterprise. This approach involves the formation of business process models in accordance with the process approach, their definition, design, documentation, measurement to achieve target results in accordance with the strategic objectives of the enterprise. The disadvantages of this approach are the difficulty of adaptation and the insufficient level of use of all digitalization tools in enterprises. The concept of mirrors involves the use of at least three mirrors for modeling – the actual business processes and their analysis, ideal processes in accordance with the strategy and quality system, optimized processes in accordance with the capabilities of the enterprise at the moment. The most adapted combination of strategic and process management is to create a balanced system of indicators in the main areas of enterprise development. For example, the following projections can be defined as: Production (production business processes), Personnel (personnel and corporate culture management processes), Finance (financial management processes), Orders (order management processes). For each of these projections will be formed special relevant indicators. The level of business processes is clearly distributed in a hierarchy – from strategy to customer and, according to the characteristics of production or services varies at each level. This analysis allows you to form each level of monitoring and control of the business process in order to optimize it. In addition, the introduction of new management and information technologies will make changes from strategic goals to each individual business process. For example, with the introduction of lean production, it is planned to make changes in the development strategy of the enterprise, in particular the restructuring of production processes and retraining of personnel. The result is the optimization of business processes and improving the efficiency of production resources. Such a restructuring project provides for variable modeling of business processes taking into account the qualifications of staff. The resulting models are the basis for determining the baseline that will be implemented and implemented. Monitoring, evaluation of business processes and projections is carried out periodically. Business process modeling, analysis and optimization are well-known procedures for process management, which is actively used for manufacturing enterprises. Analysis of the life cycle of the enterprise shows that each of its phases requires a reassessment of strategic indicators and business processes. This approach allows you to combine the strategy of enterprise development and its business processes. Known modeling techniques and tools based on information technology can be used for modeling, analysis and optimization, provided the formation of adapted model templates for each individual enterprise. Among the known concepts of using business processes, the most relevant are the use of quality management system and the formation of three mirror models of production and management processes The proposed concept can be implemented using a system of balanced scores and a variety of information technology tools, provided clear algorithms for the interaction of management and information system of the enterprise.

The influence of BPM-supportive culture and individual process orientation on process conformance

PurposeOrganizations rely on their business processes to achieve their business objectives and ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations. Hence, conformance to process specifications is essential to remain compliant. Various factors influence an organization’s ability to operate in conformance to its process specifications. This study investigates the influence of business process management (BPM)-supportive culture and individual process orientation on process conformance.Design/methodology/approachA construct was created for perceived process conformance and two constructs were selected from literature to represent BPM-supportive culture and individual process orientation. A survey was conducted with 178 employees of a global enterprise, hypotheses were formulated, and a statistical model was constructed and validated.FindingsResults pinpoint the key role of the BPM-supportive culture in influencing both individual process orientation and conformance. Individual process orientation is also found to have a significant influence on process conformance. The findings provide additional evidence for the significance of human-related aspects of BPM in achieving BPM success.Originality/valueThe contributions of this paper help better understand how soft factors of BPM contribute to employees’ process conformance drawing on and relating concepts of BPM and organizational routines.

Efficiency management of innovative business processes

The article examines the issues of management and evaluation of business processes of organizations. The author notes that in order to improve the efficiency of business functioning, the new content of the processes carried out in the organization the concept of VRM the concept of business process management to improve the quality and efficiency of the processes being implemented comes to the fore. The article examines the theoretical issues of process activity management, presents the content of process transformation. According to the author, the activity of managing the efficiency of business processes, it is necessary to start selecting processes to be improved by including their monitoring, assuming that business processes have already been identified, correctly presented, displayed. The beginning of the analysis of effectiveness of business processes, according to the author, should be carried out by evaluating the effectiveness of business processes, that is, to assess whether they meet the expectations presented. And you also need to evaluate whether there are optional business processes or unnecessary actions. The paper reflects that when conducting this assessment, it is necessary to understand whether the business process contains the necessary conditions to achieve the desired results. This assessment is carried out from the point of view of all the conditions and elements of the process in the final product (service). For this assessment, it is optimal to use benchmarking and lean manufacturing technologies. And the purpose of the evaluation is to improve those business processes that need to be performed, and not those that are currently being performed. The author presents the advantages of implementing a process assessment, suggests implementation directions and roadmaps, and identifies trends in evaluating the effectiveness of organizations. It is noted that after evaluating the effectiveness and defining business processes, describing them and studying them from the inside, as well as from the customer's point of view, it is necessary to develop approaches to performance management and their indicators. The main point, in this case, is that the VRM will evolve, following the evolution of business, as well as business processes. This will help to avoid mistakes when regulatory, correct scenarios for the development of processes are first evaluated, and after that, business development leads away from the originally planned activities. The article reflects that in order to determine what exactly needs to be evaluated, it is necessary to take into account the following provisions: assessment of the movements of raw materials and components for the implementation of the process, as well as the results of the business process; the qualifications of the organization's personnel making certain decisions; the role of information systems and software; levels of evaluation of the effectiveness of the organization; the degree of competence of the team of business process analysts. The author presents the principles of assessing the economic effect of business processes: the evaluation of the effectiveness of an innovative business process should be carried out according to the conditions of use of products, taking into account the results obtained and available; calculations for assessing economic efficiency should be carried out throughout the cycle of formation and implementation of an innovative business project for a certain period; the evaluation indicators are given to the indicators of the calculation year, to the standards and other indicators used in the calculations, taking into account the unevenness of results and costs that are obtained in different time periods; the use of investment efficiency and resource cost standards in the calculations, as well as the use of estimated costs, prices and tariffs reflecting the efficiency and quality of products for the consumer. Evaluation of the effectiveness of business processes creates new forms of innovation and management activities, represents the best positions in the development of the national economy, new competitive advantages, increasing the number of innovations, filling them with professional competencies.

Transformation of the Business Process Manager Profession in Poland: The Impact of Digital Technologies

The increasing role of emerging technologies, such as big data, the Internet of Things, artificial intelligence (AI), cognitive technologies, cloud computing, and mobile technologies, is essential to the business process manager profession’s sustainable development. Nevertheless, these technologies could involve new challenges in labor markets. The era of intelligent business process management (BPM) has begun, but how does it look in real labor markets? This paper examines the hypothesis that the transformation of the business process manager profession has been caused by certain determinants that involve the need for an improvement in BPM skills. The main contribution is a model of the dimensions of the impact of digital technologies on business process management supplemented with skills that influence the business process manager profession. The paper fills the gap in research on perspectives of the impact of digital technologies on business process management, considering both a literature analysis and labor market research. The purpose of the literature review was to identify the core dimensions that drive the use of emerging technologies in business process management. The labor market study was conducted in order to analyze the current demand for core skills of business process managers in the Polish labor market with a particular emphasis on the intelligent BPM concept. Additionally, to study the determinants that slow down the iBPM concept’s development, the digital intensity level of the enterprises and public administration units in Poland was studied. Finally, a fuzzy cognitive map presenting the core determinants of the business process manager profession’s transformation is described.

The Management of a Company’s Relational Capital as Part of Business Process

Purpose: The paper deals with the issue of a company's relational capital, especially customer relations. The aim of the paper is an attempt to answer the question concerning the role of developing the right type of relational capital with customers in organisations applying the Business Process Management (BPM) philosophy. Design/Methodology/Approach: The paper characterises business processes and the BPM concept, as well as describes models of process maturity. The section regarding a company's relational capital focuses on different types of relations with stakeholders and also asks about the essence of customer relations in organisations using BPM. The paper includes the results of quantitative research carried out among 600 companies of all sizes operating throughout Poland. The diagnostic survey method, which used the Paper and Pencil Interviewing (PAPI) technique, was chosen as the research method. The respondents were representatives of top management, including business owners. The research was complemented by a case study conducted in one of the organisations operating in the metal industry. It is a company that fully applies the BPM concept. Findings: The results of the quantitative research carried out indicate the existence of a relationship between the type of relations that a company has with its customers and the level of process maturity of the company. The types of customer relations are so important that the attention of companies using the BPM concept is focused on this kind of relationships. The results of the case study strongly confirm that the company analysed sees an important role of its relational capital (especially customer relations) in business process management. Every process implemented in the organisation is undertaken with the final customer in mind as well as his/her satisfaction with the product or service offered. Originality/value: The article discusses an innovative approach to the relational capital of enterprises from the point of view of the process maturity of companies.

Process Definitions - Critical Literature Review

Purpose: The article aimed to identify the definition of a process and define a proposal of one's concept of a process in order to improve the organization's strategy in the scope of the process approach implementation. Design/Methodology/Approach: In the research process, to achieve the assumed research goals, it was decided to use the following research methods, desk studies and tag cloud. Findings: As a result of the research, process definitions were established, a semantic analysis of the most popular forty process definitions was made, and the analysis was carried out on three levels. Practical Implications: More and more organizations use the Business Process Management concept, but the process definition is ambiguous. It is essential to standardize the process definition because business process management implementation depends on precise definitions. Originality/Value: The paper's originality is the use of tag cloud to analyze the process definitions. The study presents a new approach to the process in the context of the proprietary model.

Business Process Management as a Determinant of Change in the Organisational Culture of Enterprises

Purpose: This study aims to determine the relationship between BPM and the organizational culture of enterprises. Design/Methodology/Approach: Business Process Management (BPM) is a series of interrelated activities that force companies to face specific contemporary challenges, i.e., competence, technology, and organizational, social, and environmental challenges. BPM assumptions bring opportunities to build new competitive advantages, create new areas of activity, and find new types of business benefits, but it also raises doubts and questions. The study assumes that mistakes made when implementing this concept result in enterprises' mismatched organizational culture. The empirical research was conducted in the SME sector. Findings: The research results indicate the importance of building an open organizational culture, as its creation will enable the creation of systems based on breakthrough relationships between an open organizational culture and BPM, which is necessary to create modern business model standards. Practical Implications: Signalling the role of culture in processes supporting BPM. Based on the conclusions drawn, it can be recommended that when implementing BPM assumptions, organizational culture should match the characteristics/values relating to this concept's assumptions, also requiring from employees and other involved parties an understanding of such culture. Otherwise, there is a risk that instead of BPM, the achieved result will be precisely the opposite of the intended one. Originality/Value: A theoretical and empirical study based on a literature review linking BPM with enterprises' organizational culture and the author's research. The paper attempts to define organizational culture as a form of support for implementing the BPM concept in enterprises.

The article contains topical issues regarding the need of methodological support for the efficiency of enterprises. The article considers the theoretical and practical aspects of assessing the effectiveness of enterprises. It is determined that the enterprises of the telecommunication sphere belong to the important components of the national economy. It is offered to consider the efficiency increase of the enterprises activity as the tool of rational use of their resources and potential. The article defines modern and effective concepts of stimulation and increase of the enterprise efficiency. It is determined that currently the most important stages are the concept of digital business, the concept of project management, the concept of business process management, the concept of a system of balanced exponents. The determining factors of production are provided. They include objects of labor, personnel and means of labor. Their characteristics are given. It is noted that ensuring high efficiency of labor and new technology is an integral part of the overall problem of improving the efficiency of financial and economic activities of the enterprise. It is determined that in modern conditions of various crises, competition and uncertainty, economic and political problems, improving the efficiency of production of enterprises in the telecommunications sector is a priority in solving the problems of enterprise viability. It is noted that as well as traditional efficiency indicators, such as return on operating activities, return on assets, return on equity; operating profitability of sales; return on investment in today's transformational environment of industry 4.0 the return on innovation (new technologies) should be added to the list. The characteristics of the main approaches to determine the efficiency of the enterprise are given. General economic analysis of the telecommunications enterprise efficiency is presented. Methodological approaches to increase the activity of these enterprises are suggested and explained.

The Evolution of Business Process Management: A Bibliometric Analysis

This paper will present the research results for the analysis of the presence and evolution of the term Business Process Management (BPM) in the period 2000-2020 using a literature review with bibliometric analysis. This research sought to evaluate the quantity and quality of empirical support for the use of this tool in organizations. This allowed the researchers to acknowledge and confirm this discipline as an important investigation domain with great potential for helping companies achieve strategic alignment between business and information and communication technologies in the future. The Science Mapping Workflow methodology was used with database and search criteria applied to a total of 1,706 articles related to the subject, which resulted in a total of 624 articles selected for further research. This study identifies the journals that have the most publications about BPM. It concludes that the most promising perspectives are the ones related to Management, Framework and Performance. Even though, from a conceptual viewpoint, performance is the most valued perspective. Lastly, this research is of great interest for academics and professionals who hope to strengthen their knowledge about the BPM concept and find the historical path and the main authors and issues that contribute to knowledge in this scientific field.

An Empirical Investigation of the Relationship Between Business Process Transparency and Business Process Attack

Business Process Management (BPM) is a management approach to discover, analyze, redesign, execute and monitor business processes. Implementing BPM concepts help and benefit organizations by increasing their productivity, achieving their strategies and operational excellence, and saving costs. Rosemann et al. identify business process transparency as one of the key values of BPM, and essential to achieving other BPM benefits. Business process transparency provides visibility about how operations/activities are conducted in a detailed way, sometimes with technical details, within an organization; which facilitates the identification of structural issues of the process model. A conducted content analysis of the literature shows that fraudsters have leveraged structural issues of the business process model to commit fraud. Such fraud can be labeled as a Business Process Attack (BPA). In analogy to information system security attack, BPA can be defined as the exploitation of a vulnerability in a business process model to commit fraudulent activities that influence the business negatively such as achieving invalid or unwanted results. This research aims to investigate the relationship between the degree of business process transparency and exposure to BPA. If the relationship is positive, appropriate security controls shall be implemented on the business process transparency to avoid BPA. The main research question is: What is the relationship between an organization's degree of business process transparency and exposure to BPA. A quantitative research method is employed to measure and understand the impact of business process transparency on BPA. An experiment is designed and conducted to assess the awareness of the existence of vulnerabilities in various process models and how to exploit them to commit BPA. Results show that there is a positive significant relationship between increased business process transparency and exposure to BPA. This research contributes towards understanding and highlights the negative impact of business process transparency, which motivates researchers to investigate this phenomenon and find appropriate solutions.

The Internet of Things Meets Business Process Management: A Manifesto

The Internet of Things (IoT) refers to a network of connected devices collecting and exchanging data over the Internet. These things can be artificial or natural, and interact as autonomous agents forming a complex system. In turn, Business Process Management (BPM) was established to analyze, discover, design, implement, execute, monitor and evolve collaborative business processes within and across organizations. While the IoT and BPM have been regarded as separate topics in research and practice, we strongly believe that the management of IoT applications will strongly benefit from BPM concepts, methods and technologies on the one hand; on the other one, the IoT poses challenges that will require enhancements and extensions of the current state-of-the-art in the BPM field. In this paper, we question to what extent these two paradigms can be combined and we discuss the emerging challenges.

A conceptual framework for process‐oriented employee appraisals and rewards

This study aims to translate generic human resource management (HRM) appraisals and rewards toward an organization's business processes for better aligning organizational practices to a process orientation and for a successful business process management (BPM) adoption. We conducted an interdisciplinary study with three phases. Firstly, we conducted a literature study to obtain a list of typical business process characteristics that can be relevant for HRM appraisals and rewards. Secondly, we used an expert panel to validate and refine this list. Finally, we integrated those concepts into generic theories and frameworks on HRM appraisals and rewards through a translation study. We provide a conceptual framework of process‐oriented HRM appraisals and rewards that integrates HRM and BPM concepts. The framework presents process‐specific characteristics to supplement generic HRM appraisals and rewards frameworks. Given the challenges of aligning function‐based appraisals and rewards to a business process orientation, the framework can help tackle interdisciplinary challenges and brings a high‐level understanding of what to focus on during this alignment.

Business Process Analysis and Improvement in Selling Process Using Business Process Modelling Notation (BPMN) at Locarvest

This research is conducted in Locarvest. Established in 2015, Locarvest is an online platform company that selling agricultural products based in Bandung. They see the importance of agricultural products for humans and people who like to shop online as an opportunity for them to sell local agricultural products online. Currently, they have been developing a website to change their selling platform which will be launched soon in the late of July 2019. They assume that the website can create a simpler selling process. However, they do not have their written business process where many companies have become increasingly interested in business processes due to the need for effective and efficient activities (Dave, 2017). In here, the objectives of this research are to analyze and model the current business process of Locarvest and propose a new business process to solve Locarvest’s current problem using the concept of Business Process Management (BPM) and the design is modeled using Business Process Modelling Notation (BPMN). To model the current business process, interviews with the employees of Locarvest and observation in the office were conducted. The result of this paper is proposing some improvements within the business process by eliminating some activities and create some new activities for Locarvest. The design also has been approved by the employees of Locarvest.
