Societies in the 21st century find it evident to identify and socialize the talents whose top performance can promote the realization of public welfare of their nation, or having a more global aspect, of the nations of the Earth. It seems to be extremely important in the accelerated world as in the socio-economical processes we can reveal a more and more emphatic uncertainty factor that reduces the effectiveness of prognoses and risk analyses to a great extent. Only the political-economic elite are be able to reveal and heal the above mentioned social symptoms that is competent in a particular area and whose qualities can be described with the concepts of talent. Without the knowledge of the image of mankind in the Bible and the Quran we cannot formulate our opinion about the talented public actors’ correct economical-political behaviour against enemies and opponents.

An Overview on Talent Management in Nursing

Talent management has attracted increasing attention from academics and practitioners in recent years, but there are a number of gaps for further theoretical and empirical development. The present paper aims to contribute to the literature on talent management in nursing by developing a clear and concise definition of talent management and offering an indepth review of the talent concept. Furthermore, we distinguish two main approaches of talent management: exclusive and inclusive talent management. Then, this paper examines the different characteristics of indicators of talent management in health care system particularly in recruiting nurses. The analysis of the findings of studies conducted to date indicates that leading indicators for nurses have not developed. Therefore, managers of health centers need to specify route of nurses’ career and future positions from the beginning to get optimal individual and organizational output.

Talent’s network way of thinking

In the 21st century support for gifted education and talent, as are many other earlier values and solutions, is being reassessed. In the age of rapidly changing values, keeping provision up-to-date is achieved through the continual rethinking, reviewing and challenging the concept of giftedness and talent. The perception and our understanding of what is described as ‘talent’ is a social product; that is, it is culture-dependent, but it does have some basic characteristics which are universal and which help us understand what is meant by the term ‘talent’ both in the past and the present. However, talent is not a homogeneous concept, even though it is often depicted as such in talent support, scientific studies of talent and talent models alike. Talents with different development histories have different needs and the environment necessary for development can differ substantially by age and talent forms. Consequently, provision should not be homogeneous, either. In the present study, through a rethinking of the talent concept, I propose an approach which favours network-based functioning, an approach better suited for use in today’s culture.

Measuring creative capacity of Visegrad Four countries’ economies

Abstract In this paper we study creative capacity of economies of Visegrad Four countries in the period 2000-2011. Creativity index is constructed based on the 3Ts concept of talent, technology and tolerance being the key components of the creativity. Creativity index is measured and calculated with both the cross-section and the time series dimensions. The paper provides index as an open source with the description of variables and their respective weights. Comparison of the creative capacity of economies is based on the empirical results of the Creativity index and its components. Czech Republic is the first and Hungary is the second in the ranking continuously during the examined period. Talent and technology areas are the main reasons for differences between the two leading countries and the rest.

This objective required the identification of the conditions of interest and talent in the organization to a multi-faceted understanding of the concept of talent (with particular emphasis on the organizational aspect). Talent management in China and India: A comparison of management perceptions and human resource practices

This study investigates how the concept of talent is understood, what talent management practices are in place, and what talent-management challenges may be confronting firms in China and India through the perspectives of 178 non-HR managers. The study reveals the centrality of materialistic values in the evolving, contemporary employment relationships in the two countries. The findings shed light on the different needs of capacity-building for the HR institutions in each of the two countries, as well as the need to adopt a more particularistic (vs. a universalist) approach to conceptualizing and operationalizing talent management in the international context.

It is important to recognize a gifted child. There are different pedagogical approaches to gifted children around the world. All pedagogical staff including school librarians is responsible for adequate service provision for gifted pupils.

What is the meaning of ‘talent’ in the world of work?

The ongoing confusion about the meaning of ‘talent’ within the world of work is hindering the establishment of widely accepted talent management theories and practices. The aim of this paper is to contribute to the literature on talent management by offering an in-depth review of the talent concept within the specific context of the world of work, and proposing a framework for its conceptualization. We group different theoretical approaches to talent into ‘object’ (i.e., talent as natural ability; talent as mastery; talent as commitment; talent as fit) versus ‘subject’ approaches (i.e., talent as all people; talent as some people) and identify dynamics existing within and between them, as well as implications for talent management theory and practice. Finally, we discuss different avenues for further research aimed at developing the talent—and consequently, the talent management—construct further.

A review of talent management: ‘infancy or adolescence?’

The aim of this paper is to provide a critical review of the academic literature on talent management in search of alternative perspectives. We found three dominant themes: the exploration of the concept of talent (definitions), the intended outcomes or effects of talent management and talent management practices. These themes are explored in more detail, and we discuss possible limitations of the current points of view on talent management. Our main finding was that the current talent management literature has a too narrow and one-dimensional approach. It can be characterized as managerialist and unitarist and has a limited view of the practices and activities of human resources. To broaden this view to a more balanced or pluralistic approach to talent management, we added new perspectives, such as stakeholder theory, multiple goals and an extended consideration of practices. The new perspectives are not only valuable for the development of the field of talent management in general but also essential for a broader theoretical framework for talent management in different contexts.

In 2006 a novel approach to talent support was promoted by several talent support programmes in Hungary. The new idea was a network approach. The nationwide network of so-called TalentPoints and its framework, the Hungarian Genius Program, gained substantial European Union funding in 2009, and today it is growing rapidly. A novel concept of talent is also used by the programme: it perceives everyone as potentially gifted. The Hungarian Genius Program organizes the festive events of Talent Days on regional, national and European levels, sets up Talent Support Councils and has introduced the Talent Loan programme.

Primary Teachers' Conceptions of Giftedness

This article focuses on the first phase of a recent National Research Center on Giftedness and Talented (NRC/GT) project, which used survey research to target a disproportionate nationally stratified random sample of primary grade teachers about their beliefs and practices related to talent development in young children and their responses to case studies describing four different types of students—one easily identified as gifted from a traditional paradigm; the others manifested talents masked by some other factor—poverty, language status, or concurrent social/emotional needs. The mixed-method survey design facilitated triangulation of findings to better understand the contextual factors that influence primary grade teachers' perceptions and behaviors. Findings indicate that primary grade teachers continue to hold traditional conceptions of talent that shapes how they view cultural minority students, nonnative English speakers, and children with other exceptionalities. These beliefs influence the types of academic, social, and programmatic interventions they believe diverse primary grade learners need, often seeing the deficits before identifying the talents.
