Path Forward: Materials Data Modernization for Asme Codes and Standards In The Artificial Intelligence Era

Abstract Development of the ASME Materials Properties Database was initiated in the early 2010s to support the ASME Codes and Standards. As information technologies advance at an accelerated pace with the artificial intelligence era on the horizon, the ASME Materials Properties Database must be further modernized from a database to a knowledgebase to ride the wave of digital information revolution and effectively support the ASME Codes and Standards in the new era. This paper is intended to provide an overview of the ASME Materials Properties Database and discuss a roadmap for its future development to facilitate understanding of and participation from different sectors of the Codes and Standards community. It first reviews the basic concepts of data, information, knowledge, database, and database system; as well as the pros and cons in different types of data management, and then discusses the path forward for a desired evolution of the database into a self-explanatory and machine-readable knowledgebase that is consistent with human cognitive processes for the Codes and Standards development and furthermore provides resources for data processing and analysis to reach an eventual goal of streamlining the Codes and Standards development from the initial inquiry, throughout data submission, analysis, …, to Codes and Standards rule establishment for final publication.

A Model for Spatially Explicit Landscape Configuration and Ecosystem Service Performance, ESMAX: Model Description and Explanation

It is critical that we move our understanding of the ecosystem services (ESs) produced by landscapes from the present abundance of analysis to a fundamental basis of design. This involves enhancing the ability to understand and model the interconnected, coevolving system of humans and the rest of nature, thus contributing to the design of sustainable landscapes. In this paper, we hypothesise that the spatial configuration of landscape components (the size and arrangement of tree clumps, paddocks, crops, water features, etc.) impacts the production of regulating ESs, which in turn have a leveraging effect on provisioning and cultural ESs. Drawing on the precepts of Ecological Field Theory, we present the development and implications of a conceptual Geographic Information System (GIS)-based model, ESMAX, that utilises the idiosyncratic distance-decay characteristics of regulating ESs. These ‘ES fields’ are visualised as radiating into the landscape from their source components, addressing a gap in biophysical reality that has been identified as a shortcoming of existing ES modelling based on landcover proxies. Hypothetical landscape arrangements of simplified landscape components are tested with ESMAX across three regulating ESs: cooling effect, nitrogen retention, and habitat provision. The model calculates the overall ES performance of each landscape arrangement by tabulating the ES fields produced and, critically, the nonlinear response where fields overlap. The results indicate a primary sensitivity to the size of components and a secondary sensitivity to the arrangement of components. Consequently, ESMAX can be used to design landscape configurations that (1) maximise the production of specific regulating ESs and (2) improve the utilisation of natural ES-producing resources.

Analysis of the use of the BYOD concept in corporate information systems

The article discusses the issue of expanding the level of use of private terminal (terminal) programmable devices in corporate information systems and networks. It is noted that the main consumer of the "bring your own device" concept (BYOD concept) is the educational sphere, the sphere of services and the sphere of entertainment. As for the government sphere and the business sphere, the issue of spreading the BYOD concept is determined by the information that circulates in the corporate information systems and networks where it is used. And this, in turn, is related to the following security issues: leakage of company-sensitive information or state information with limited access through one's own mobile devices; penetration into the corporate information system and network. It is also stated that the spread of the BYOD concept is not so much of a technical nature as of a social-civilizational nature, since the frontmen of this concept are millennials - people who were born and grew up in the digital era and who cannot imagine their life without a private mobile device, and also have a completely different attitude to traditional approaches to learning and work. Ensuring a high level of cyber security when using the BYOD concept is possible if all issues of using private mobile devices in corporate information systems and networks are formalized and institutionalized. In addition, the concept of BYOD determines the need to establish certain restrictions, special software, the possibility of remote access and administration of private mobile devices, which in turn narrows its possibilities and reduces the boundaries of the use of the entire existing range of services, programs and content. Also, the implementation of the BYOD concept requires the readiness of the employees themselves to increase the level of self-control, self-discipline and allow remote access to their private mobile device, as well as restrictions.

A mobile application for building smart water consumption habits

The article substantiates the necessity of forming environmental culture in the field of water consumption using software products. The paper creates a concept of a smart information system that combines a mobile application and technical devices that provide real-time control of water consumption and the occurrence of abnormal or emergency situations that significantly increase water consumption. Algorithms realizing the functional capabilities allow collecting and processing data from these devices and promptly recommend effective control actions. In addition, an interactive game is available to the user, which implies periodic performance of tasks related to household environmental literacy. Using object-oriented design methods, a user graphical interface has been created and a fragment of such a game is presented in the paper.

Information System Concept for a Sports and Game Mobile Application with Elements of Artificial Motivation to Lead a More Active Lifestyle

The article presents the idea of a sports and gaming mobile application. The proposed concept has a number of indisputable advantages over the analogue products. The main one is the presence of a mechanism of artificial motivation to lead a more active lifestyle. This approach is especially relevant for modern children and teenagers, most of whom prefer virtual entertainment. The analysis of approaches and methods for encouraging and retaining the user of the mobile application was carried out based on the studied literature. The problem of reducing the physical activity of the population is highlighted. Based on the model of additive convolution for the problem of multi-criteria optimization, the feasibility of implementing the system and its superiority over similar software products presented on the market are substantiated. The expected implementation effects of the system are formulated. Mathematical model for substantiation of educational and physical culture and health effects are proposed. Decomposition of the system into subsystems was carried out using Gain-Sarson DFD-notation. The skeleton architecture of the application has been developed and substantiated. The UML activity diagram of the main process of system functioning has been developed. One of the possible options for implementing the system is proposed: the model of the project life cycle is chosen and substantiated, the stages of its implementation are determined, and the list of minimum necessary human resources is assigned. Implementation of the proposed application will have positive sports, health and educational effects. In addition to improving physical fitness, users will increase their awareness of the achievements of world-famous athletes and the sports they represent. The proposed mechanics for a gradual transition from regular walks to runs will minimize the chance of injury. The implementation of the proposed application is the first step for quantitative and qualitative analysis of physical activity of users. On the basis of statistical data, which is going to be collected in the following versions of the system, it is possible to determine to what extent the use of modern technologies and gamification mechanisms can motivate people to a more active lifestyle. The basis for this stage is the model presented in this paper.

This research aims to investigate and describe the impact of implementing the Inventory Information System (SIPB) in optimizing inventory management, focusing on efforts to improve the company's business sustainability. The specific research objectives include analyzing operational efficiency, evaluating the impact on customer service, assessing business sustainability, identifying challenges and obstacles, and providing a conceptual framework for sustainability. Lalumiere Aesthetics Clinic is a clinic that operates in the field of beauty. One of the activities is inputting incoming and outgoing goods. At the clinic, there is often a shortage of medicine stock in the warehouse, which overwhelms the staff, and there is often an unbalanced amount of stock and the number of goods out, causing many losses to the clinic. So a system is needed that can overcome this problem. After reviewing it again, inventory management at the Lalumiere clinic is still done manually. That is, incoming and outgoing goods are written in a notebook. Hence, errors often occur, such as the number of goods needing to be balanced, causing the company to experience losses. The research method used is a literature study to understand the basic concepts of inventory information systems and the use of Laravel as a website application development framework. Prototype Development to design and develop a prototype inventory information system using Laravel as the main framework. The research results show that implementing an inventory information system using Laravel has increased the company's operational efficiency. Recording, monitoring, and managing inventory becomes more structured and automated, reducing the time required for routine tasks.

Digital transformation of the physical culture and sports management system in the Krasnoyarsk Krai

Subject. The article considers the development of mass sports, problems of interaction between sports federations and public authorities. Objectives. The purpose is to analyze processes of organizing and holding sports competitions, develop tools to systematize statistical data related to the field of physical culture and sports. Methods. The study employs the structural analysis. Results. We developed the concept of automatic information system "Competition". The use of this system by sports federations will speed up the process of submitting applications for participation in a sports competition, building the final list of its participants, and preparing documents for the assignment of sports categories. Conclusions. It is crucial to unify the forms of reports on the results of sports competitions, create a single database on sports players and referees.

한국군 합성훈련환경(STE) 정보체계 구축에 대한 연구

This study examined the necessity and project direction of the synthetic training environment (STE) information system (IS). The STE is a metaverse-based next-generation training system that will replace the existing LVC scientific training system. The STE IS performs the function of centrally controlling the STE’s training and analyzing various training data. SWOT analysis was used to establish development strategies such as the informatization vision and development goals of the STE IS. The operating concept of the STE information system was established for the design of the target model, and the structural and security design of the target model were performed. In addition, the project’s feasibility was verified through a cost-benefit analysis of the STE IS project.

The Concept of an Information System to Support Decision-Making to Improve the Efficiency of the Forest Complex

The article is devoted to the discussion of the possibilities of improving the efficiency of the forest industry of the northern and arctic border regions of the Russian Federation in the new geopolitical and economic conditions. This goal is planned to be achieved through the use of a new type of regional information system of scenario modeling and support of strategic management decisions of the upper level. The need to develop such a system is due to the changes taking place in the Russian economy in recent years. They include the course on wide import substitution, development of deep processing of natural resources inside the country, reduction of export of goods with low degree of processing, sanctions policy of some Western countries, etc. These changes require the development of science-based effective solutions for the use of wood for industrial and consumer purposes. This problem is especially relevant for the border areas, for a long time largely focused on the export of many types of products. Describes the concept of the regional information system of scenario modeling and support for strategic management decisions of the upper level, its functions and structural and functional model scheme of the subject area. The requirements for the system are formulated and its top-level architecture is proposed. The structural model of integration of this information system into the management scheme of the system "forest complex — environment — regional economy" was developed. It is emphasized that the use of the system will allow one tochoose the most effective options for the development of the forest complex, taking into account all the requirements for the provision of rational and sustainable forest management and sustainable development, taking into account the characteristics of the border regions of the North and the Arctic.

The information system concept for thermal monitoring of a spent nuclear fuel storage container

The paper notes that the most common way of handling spent nuclear fuel (SNF) of power reactors is its temporary long-term dry storage. At the same time, the operation of the dry spent fuel storage facilities almost never use the modern capabilities of information systems in safety control and collecting information for the next studies under implementation of aging management programs. The author proposes a structure of an information system that can be implemented in a dry spent fuel storage facility with ventilated storage containers. To control the thermal component of spent fuel storage safety, a database structure has been developed, which contains 5 tables. An algorithm for monitoring the thermal state of spent fuel was created for the proposed information system, which is based on the comparison of measured and forecast values of the safety criterion, in which the level of heating the ventilation air temperature was chosen. Predictive values of the safety criterion are obtained on the basis of previously published studies. The proposed algorithm is an implementation of the information function of the system. The proposed information system can be used for effective thermal monitoring and collecting information for the next studies under the implementation of aging management programs for spent fuel storage equipment, permanent control of spent fuel storage safety, staff training, etc.

Improvement of education economic management and implementation of state information systems

Education economic is one of the dynamically developing and least methodologically established sections of native economic thought. The purpose of this article is to conduct a critical analysis of current mechanisms, problems and trends in the implementation of state information systems (SIS) in national education. The author pays special attention to the role of SIS in the formation and improvement of state educational policy, which is of particular importance in the context of turning of educational sovereignty to the politics. At the same time, the author emphasizes that in the context of the modern information-oriented society, the relevance of state information systems capable of ensuring effective economic management is becoming more and more important. The article offers a detailed analysis of the economic, legal and management frameworks for the functioning of information systems in the education sector on the basis of statutes in place. The concept of a state information system is studied and its main elements and functions are discussed. In addition, the article shows the differences between analog and digital methods of state policy, emphasizing the advantages of the latter. In conclusion basic principles of implementation and operation of state information systems in various economic sectors, including education, are proposed. Guided by these principles, the government will be able to maximize the effectiveness of the use of such systems in state policy, especially in the context of education, ensuring more accurate planning, analysis and decision-making based on relevant data and information.

Моделирование процессов процедуры разработки плана действий по предупреждению и ликвидации чрезвычайных ситуаций для организаций

An analysis was carried out concerning the previously developed structural and functional model of the procedure for developing an Action Plan for the Prevention and Elimination of Emergency Situations for Organizations built on the basis of the process approach. The relevance is shown related to further elaboration of this model to determine the mechanism of interaction of all its elements. The purpose of the article is to model the processes of the procedure for developing an Action Plan for the Prevention and Elimination of Emergency Situations based on the integrated application of system analysis methods. When modeling the structural, functional approaches, decomposition, and composition methods, as well as the IDEF0 methodology were used. At the same time, the entire process of developing the Action Plan for the Prevention and Elimination of Emergency Situations is presented in the form of a tree of the main processes and their decomposition to the minimum required sub-processes. For each of the identified processes and sub-processes the models were compiled in the form of diagrams according to the IDEF0 methodology. The constructed diagrams allow to establish and analyze the informational and functional relationship between various processes and subprocesses of the procedure under study. The identified mechanism of interaction between elements of processes and sub-processes in the future can become the basis for modeling the concept of a territorial information system for the development of an Action Plan for the Prevention and Elimination of Emergency Situations. Such an information system will allow developers of plans to automatically receive the required information considering the specifics of the organization of activities for each territorial subsystem of the Unified State System for the Prevention and Elimination of Emergency Situations. At the same time, the information system will ensure optimal interaction between the authorities of municipalities and the developers of the Action Plan for the Prevention and Elimination of Emergency Situations for their coordination. The constructed models can also be used in the future in practice in the implementation of structural and functional modeling of the procedure for developing an Action Plan for the Prevention and Elimination of Emergency Situations for Individual Organizations.

A Novel Classification Method Using the Takagi–Sugeno Model and a Type-2 Fuzzy Rule Induction Approach

The main purpose of this research was to introduce a classification method, which combines a rule induction procedure with the Takagi–Sugeno inference model. This proposal is a continuation of our previous research, in which a classification process based on interval type-2 fuzzy rule induction was introduced. The research goal was to verify if the Mamdani fuzzy inference used in our previous research could be replaced with the first-order Takagi–Sugeno inference system. In the both cases to induce fuzzy rules, a new concept of a fuzzy information system was defined in order to deal with interval type-2 fuzzy sets. Additionally, the introduced rule induction assumes an optimization procedure concerning the footprint of uncertainty of the considered type-2 fuzzy sets. A key point in the concept proposed is the generalization of the fuzzy information systems’ attribute information to handle uncertainty, which occurs in real data. For experimental purposes, the classification method was tested on different classification benchmark data and very promising results were achieved. For the data sets: Breast Cancer Data, Breast Cancer Wisconsin, Data Banknote Authentication, HTRU 2 and Ionosphere, the following F-scores were achieved, respectively: 97.6%, 96%, 100%, 87.8%, and 89.4%. The results proved the possibility of applying the Takagi–Sugeno model in the classification concept. The model parameters were optimized using an evolutionary strategy.

The concept of new information system of SB RAS State Public Scientific and Technological Library based on IRBIS64+

The authors review the principles and technologies of information retrieval systems implemented in Russia and abroad, with special attention to the function of e-library and interactive selective information dissemination. The main project aim is to build single comfortable information retrieval space integrating full-text abstracts, bibliographic resources legally acquired, structured and offered by SB RAS State Public Scientific and Technological Library.Based on the analysis of user search behavior of the Library’s information retrieval system based on IRBIS WEB-module and of the functional distinctions between IRBIS64+ and IRBIS WEB-module, the authors review the demands to contemporary e-catalogs and e-libraries, parameters of new information retrieval system, and stages of its implementation. The new information retrieval system based on IRBIS64+ WEB-module will provide access to all resources comprising literature in-flow to the Library with significant search potential, and guarantee their comfortable use by various user groups. IRBIS64+ WEB-module in the Library’s information retrieval system will provide searching in full-texts, and enable to make queries using Boolean logics, to setup distance between words, to rank search results, and to specify them with faceted navigation. The users will be also offered to use thematic search by navigators (GRNTI, thematic navigators of databases). The e-library is to provide open access to information resources of RAS SB SPSTL, eLIBRARY, and other open resources. The digital collections are to preserve printed original copies, which is important for old and rare publications.

Implementation of Management Information Systems at State Junior High School 2 Rejang Lebong Bengkulu

This study aims to identify Islamic education management information systems and their concepts and implementation processes in educational institutions. A management information system is designed to provide information to support decision-making in management activities (planning, implementing, organizing and controlling) within an organization. Research results: the work process in each system produces a result (output) that is sustainable and an evaluation system through feedback treatment. This means that if the output contains information that is contrary to the achievements of the organization, it will be input into the system; if the system has received the results of the feedback, then the system will make the necessary revisions and adjustments so that the output is consistent with its original purpose.
