ACADEMIC INSTITUTION AS A SYSTEM AND SYSTEMS' APPROACH TO THEM AND ATTRIBUTES OF THEIR EXCELLENCE

The System approach views the organization as a unified, purposeful system composed of interrelated parts. This way the manager can look at the organization as a whole or part of the larger outside environment. Activity of any part affects all other parts of the organization. A system can be biological, physical or social. The concept of systems approach was initiated in ancient Indian system of medicine. During Second World War the concept was applied to education technology. The body of people which constitutes an academic institution is influenced by the environment of society, other institutions, industry, government and politicians. Hence to consider a holistic approach an academic institution must be viewed as a system. Pupils entering the academic institutions are the input and results and their placements are the output of academic Institutions. Feed back and diagnosis of the result are activities influenced by the environmental elements. Attributes of an academic institutions from systems approach should be its Interdependence, Holism - emergent properties, Goal seeking, Open system, Transformation, Entropy, Regulation, Hierarchy, Equifinality, Multifinality.

РОЛЬ КОМП’ЮТЕРНОГО МОДЕЛЮВАННЯ У ФОРМУВАННІ СИСТЕМНОГО МИСЛЕННЯ СТАРШОКЛАСНИКІВ

The article analyzes the pedagogical research on the essence and content of the concepts of systems approach and systems thinking, substantiates the main features of the formation of systems thinking. It is noted that systematic thinking, in contrast to linear, is focused on seeing the integrity of an object or phenomenon, to identify not things but connections between them, not instantaneous states, but patterns of change. Systems thinking is needed to distinguish the structures that form the basis of complex situations. The implementation of integrative connections during the educational process is a necessary condition for the formation of a scientific worldview and competencies. It is determined that the formation of an environment for the effective formation of systems thinking is possible through the implementation of a competency approach and the introduction of active, activity forms of learning, in particular with the use of computer models. It is noted that the use of computer models in the educational process provides a high degree of clarity, and their interactivity allows to directly influence the course of the experiment, change the conditions of its conduct, which promotes motivation, interest and desire to experiment, conduct independent research in science, and thus promotes the development of creative skills and critical thinking. It is emphasized that individual research tasks based on computer simulations are an effective tool for implementing the activity approach. Students have the opportunity to discover something new, unknown to them, to observe the patterns of processes and phenomena, to "discover" a known law in physics by measuring physical quantities.

Basic Definitions and Concepts of Systems Approach, Mathematical Modeling and Information Technologies in Sports Science

The objective is to systematize and adapt the basic definitions and concepts of the systems approach, mathematical modeling and information technologies to sports science.Materials and methods. The research has studied the availability of appropriate terms in shooting sports, which would meet the requirements of modern sports science. It has examined the compliance of the shooting sports training program for children and youth sports schools, the Olympic reserve specialized children and youth schools, schools of higher sports skills, and sports educational institutions with the modern requirements and principles.Research results. The paper suggests the basic definitions adapted to the requirements of technical sports and sports science. The research has thoroughly analyzed the shooting sports training program for children and youth sports schools, the Olympic reserve specialized children and youth schools, schools of higher sports skills, and sports educational institutions. The paper offers options to improve the training program in accordance with the modern tendencies of training athletes. Conclusions. The research suggests to systematize and adapt the basic definitions and concepts of the systems approach, mathematical modeling and information technologies using the example of technical sports.

An Application of Systems Thinking for Solving Inventory Management Problems

This study is motivated by the fact that inventory management problem is focused throughout the industrial firms nowadays as well as inventory management problems are not easy to be appropriately solved. According to the concept of systems approach can better give more effective result especially when applied to complex problems. In this paper, we propose a systems thinking framework for solving real-world inventory management problems. The systems thinking framework comes with three case studies to enhance better understanding of how to apply the framework with problems. This study aims to bring about the ideas for solving inventory management problems in more practical fashion. In addition to benefit the development of the proposed framework, the instructors and the industrial firms will gain the high-performing students or workers, who can get to the point of problem and can propose the reasonable solution to effectively dealing with problems. Moreover, this study can be used as a guideline for engineering educators to develop other meaningful methods in advances. We expect that if the case studies are collected much enough, the knowledge–based system for solving inventory management problems can be built for easy investigation to whom have the interest in solving inventory management problems.

TEORETIKO-PEDAGOGICHESKIE OF FEATURE OF APPLICTION OF SYSTEM APPROACH AT THE ORGANIZATION OF PREPARATION OF SO-TRUDNIKOV OF LAW-ENFORCEMENT BODIES

In article teoretiko-pedagogical features of application of system approach when training staff of bodies of the internal affairs ensuring traffic safety in Russia are considered. General idea of article is the solution of the problem of formation of safe behavior of child-ren and teenagers in a modern road situation in the developed system «kindergarten – school – higher education institution – additional education». Prerequisites of origin and the main stages of development of system approach as parts of methodology of scientific knowledge of Russia, since 30th years of the XX century are for this purpose described. It agrees systemically to approach which language is based on the main concepts: the purpose, an element, a subsystem, a nadsistema, communication, structure, behavior, a state, ba-lance, development, any studied object it has to be presented as system. At the general scientific level system approach allows on the basis of studying of regularities of system «kindergarten – school – higher education institution – additional education» to define variety of components, types of communications between them, and, the main thing, to predict possible ways of the movement and development of system in general. Therefore the author offers in a tabular look analogy of the basic concepts of system approach in relation to the system developed by the author.

LOGICAL PROBLEMS IN "MANAGERALIZATION" OF MAN AND THE SOCIETY

In the article the author considers the phenomenon of manageralization - re-orientation of personal behavioral motives from attitude to the to attitude to the result in the today's society. The instrument for analysis is the author's concept of systems approach. The main specificity of this approach is in the fact that the systematicity is understood as an attribute (type) of human thinking rather than the property of external objects.

Ethical, Legal and Professional Foundations of the Autonomous Regulation of the Dental Profession, the Case of Bulgaria

SUMMARY The purpose of this study is to present the traditional and contemporary views on autonomous management of the dental profession in Bulgaria during the period of transition. Methods: The interdependence between the professionalism and ethics was analyzed and the concept of system approach in ethical conduct of the practicing doctor is defined. Results: Dynamic of social relationship shaped by the globalization and European integration and the design of the social contract between the profession and the society are reviewed. Moral, legal and professional issues relevant to current social and economic aspects of health reforms impacts on the reestablishment of professional autonomy in Bulgaria are presented. Professional autonomy is based on self-regulation aiming to keep the collective image and standards but is focused on the professional conduct and behavior of the members. A model of ethical discourse and ethical approach is discussed. Conclusions: Ethics and professionalism are in interdependence in the democratic society. Autonomy, or self-determination, as the core value of dentistry has been reestablished along the reestablishment of democracy in Bulgaria. In the value system of professionals traditional and contemporary virtues form a complex mixture. There is a need for integrity and consensus on formulating the rules of professionalism in dentistry. Professional ethics must be taught and appropriate courses should be part of the dental curriculum and continuing education in dentistry.

A systems approach to program evaluation model for quality in higher education

PurposeTo propose an evaluation model for the quality implementations in higher education through an analysis of quality systems and program evaluation using a systems approach.Design/methodology/approachTheoretical background, research and practice of the quality systems in higher education and program evaluation are analysed in conjunction with the concepts of systems approach. The analysis leads to a systems approach‐based program‐evaluation model for quality implementation in higher education.FindingsThe three concepts, quality systems in higher education, program evaluation and systems approach, are found to be consistent and compatible with one another with regard to the goals and organizational structure of the higher education institutions. The proposed evaluation model provides a new perspective for higher education management for the effective and efficient implementation of the quality systems and program improvement.Research limitations/implicationsThe implementation of the model in a real university setting is necessary for the clarification of the processes.Practical implicationsThe study provides a constructive analysis of higher‐education‐related concepts, and a new dimension of quality systems and program evaluation is developed in the model. The approach comprises three subsystems; “social system”, “technical systems”, and “managerial system”. The evaluation of quality in higher education requires inquiry of the components of the systems.Originality/valueThis paper proposes an innovative evaluation model integrating the systems approach into quality tools. The model is claimed to be the first in integrating the three approaches.

Systems Approach to Air Pollution Control and Urban Planning

The paper presents the results of the investigations of systems approach to air pollution control and urban planning. The problem of environmental pollution and the associated ecological effects are briefly described. The concepts of systems approach and their applications to the current study are explained. The problems of rural and urban planning resulting from rapid industrialisation are discussed. The necessity for considering the environmental impact on the selection of industrial sites, design of processes and the manufacturing methods in the planning stages of industrialisation is explained. Environmental pollution problems from some of the basic industries, viz. Paper and Pulp, Foundries, Iron and Steel, Cement, are discussed. Some of the problems which a developing country should consider, while planning to import technology from industrially advanced countries, are explained.
