THE EFFECTS OF ECOTOURISM ON SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT IN IRAQ

Tourism is one of the most essential elements of the modern service sector and contributes significantly to countries' economies, including Iraq. It also plays a vital role in increasing national income and improving the balance of payments in foreign exchange. It aims to provide job opportunities for the workforce and implement development programs. The research problem is identifying Ecotourism's effects on sustainable development in Iraq. The main objectives of the research are: What is the meaning and concept of Ecotourism and sustainable development, and what are the requirements for its application? What is the importance of Ecotourism as the most critical type of modern tourism? How do ecotourism dimensions impact sustainable development in Iraq? The most crucial search results: 1- The dimensions of sustainable development were represented in the environmental dimensions, social and political dimensions, economic dimensions 2- The research results showed that ecotourism principles take into account nature - ecological sustainability - environmental culture - and tourism satisfaction. 3- The environmental impact of Ecotourism on development was represented in (Ecotourism efforts lead to the continued reduction of energy and natural resource consumption) - The state should be able to reduce the problem of pollution as long as it has the financial and technical, and human resources to ensure the use of cleaner technologies and fewer resources - An ethical and ethical approach to Ecotourism.

The Role of Driving Actors as Social Engineers in Improving the Community's Economy through Social Entrepreneurship in Marine Ecotourism

The gap initiated the movement of empowerment through social entrepreneurship as a business effort to improve the economy of the community in the Sungai Pinang area by a driving actor named Ricky with a learning center known as Ricky's beach house. This research was conducted at Ricky's beach house in the Sungai Pinang marine tourism area with an inductive research approach with a descriptive qualitative method of field study method. This research presents data using descriptive data. This research aims to analyze the role of driving actors in improving the community's economy through social entrepreneurship and marine ecotourism. The results of this study show that the development steps taken by Ricky's beach house by empowering the potential of the surrounding community to be involved in every aspect of the development of Sungai Pinang tourism, such as utilizing people's homes as tourist lodging facilities, turning people into tour guides, and using facilities owned by other residents such as boats for tourists who want to go to the island including at the same time being the captain of the ship, being a waiter at the bar and lounge. The concept of social entrepreneurship also emphasizes the concept of ecotourism where tourism that is developed still pays attention to environmental sustainability even by involving foreign tourists as volunteers.

The Potential of Ecotourism in Bayan Village's Customary Forest, North Lombok Regency

Bayan Village, North Lombok District has four customary forests, namely Mandala Customary Forest, Pengempokan Customary Forest, Tiu Rarangan Customary Forest, and Bengket Bayan Customary Forest. The four customary forests have the potential to be developed with the concept of ecotourism. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method. With the determination of the location and respondents using Purposive Sampling. The study was conducted with the aim of analyzing the feasibility of developing Customary Forests into one of the ecotourism attractions using the parameters of ecotourism appeal, accessibility, conditions of the surrounding area, accommodation, facilities and infrastructure and the availability of clean water. The research parameters used the Guidelines for Analysis of Natural Tourism Attraction Operation Areas (ADO-ODTWA) stipulated by the Director General of Forest Protection and Nature Conservation (Dirjen PHKA) in 2003. The results of the study showed that the four tourist attractions in Bayan Village have the potential to be developed into ecotourism destinations, with respective index values, namely Mandala Customary Forest 86.83%, Pengempokan Customary Forest 84.03%, Bangket Bayan Customary Forest 87.69% and Tiu Rarangan Customary Forest 84%

Exploring Ecotourism Concept In Social Media For Students At Smk Swasta Kristen Tomosa 2

This study aims to explore the strategy of implementing social media in introducing the concept of ecotourism to students of SMK Swasta Kristen Tomosa 2. This research is descriptive with a qualitative approach, with the research location at SMKSwasta Kristen Tomosa 2. The research used an online questionnaire with Google Form. The results showed that social media proved to be an effective tool to reach students and convey information about ecotourism. Facebook is the social media platform that they often use. Social media can raise awareness about the importance of environmental conservation and encourage student participation in ecotourism activities. This study provides several suggestions to improve the effectiveness of using social media in ecotourism education. These suggestions include utilizing social media platforms that are popular among students, developing interesting and informative content, using relevant hashtags to expand reach, and monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of social media. Thus, it is hoped that students can gain a better understanding of the concept of ecotourism and actively participate in environmental conservation efforts.

A Literature Review of Conceptualization Ecotourism-based Development Strategy to Achieve Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)

Along with economic development and growth, the role of tourism today is increasing as a sector that contributes to considerable foreign exchange to people’s welfare. Development strategies that accommodate conservation interests with the interests of residents, government, and investors are based on ecotourism. Ecotourism is then seen as one of the alternative policies that can be used as a solution to the shift in cultural, social, and environmental wisdom values. Therefore, an overview is needed to explain ecotourism-based development strategies. This research uses qualitative research methods with SWOT analysis. The results of the study describe the concept of ecotourism, its management strategy, the benefits of ecotourism, and the results of the SWOT analysis of ecotourism. It is expected to be a conceptualization consideration in developing ecotourism and development strategies for national policies in the field of sustainable tourism and supporting regional economic independence. Sharing Session Pengelolaan Biota Laut Dalam Rangka Penyelamatan Penyu Di Daerah Pesisir Pantai Lowita Di Desa Wiring Tasi Kecamatan Suppa Kabupaten Pinrang

This community service activity takes the form of a sharing session with the aim of finding a model for managing marine biota in the context of saving sea turtles. This activity was carried out at Lowita Beach in Wiring Tasi Village, Suppa District, Pinrang Regency and was attended by the community, turtle conservation observers as well as academics. The implementation time is November 4-5 2023. Based on the results of the activities that have been described, the conclusions from community service activities, socialization of the development of the ecotourism concept in improving community welfare are as follows: providing positive benefits for the community, educating, and sharing knowledge for mutual progress. . The target of this activity is for coastal communities to support economic growth by preserving the environment, with the hope that ecotourism can increase tourist visits in the area which can contribute to improving the welfare of the community. MSMEs can grow and develop, contribute more to the community, and create new jobs.

Exploring the nexus of smart technologies and sustainable ecotourism: A systematic review

Sustainable smart ecotourism, utilizing smart technologies like smartphones, artificial intelligence (AI), and the Internet of Things (IoT), aims to minimize harm to natural and cultural ecosystems, promoting education and environmental conservation. This review aims to examine the concept of sustainable smart ecotourism, analyzing existing literature to gain insights into the significance, components, challenges, and contributions to sustainable development on a global scale. A systematic review was conducted to evaluate sustainable smart ecotourism using PRISMA guidelines. The review focused on scholarly, peer-reviewed studies from developing countries, using databases like ScienceDirect, Jstor, Taylor & Francis, and IEEE. The study used Joanna Briggs Institute and Cochrane Risk of Bias tools to assess study quality. Thematic analysis techniques were used to extract and synthesize data, identifying patterns and trends relevant to smart ecotourism sustainability. Dual analyst verification ensured data integrity and reliability. After conducting a thorough quality evaluation using the Joanna Briggs Institute Checklist and Cochrane Risk of Bias Tool, we identified 29 studies of exceptional quality from an original pool of 9583 records. The use of thematic analysis sheds light on the diverse and important role of the IoT in promoting sustainable ecotourism. This study uncovered both the obstacles and possibilities associated with this technology. The findings provide important insights into the worldwide implementation of smart ecotourism techniques and highlight the significant impact of technology in promoting sustainable tourism models. Smart ecotourism involves multiple stakeholders to enhance environmental impact. Key characteristics include dynamic interactions, co-creation of value, sustainable development, resource sharing, and innovation services. Technology like IoT is crucial for sustainable tourism management. Collaboration with governments, local stakeholders, and organizations is recommended for sustainable policies. As a result of this study, sustainable ecotourism policies result from a collaborative effort between local communities, government agencies, and practitioners in the industry. Smart technologies, including AR/VR and AI, have the potential to enhance operational efficiency while reducing environmental concerns. Ecotourism, partnerships, and education are key to successful implementation and capacity building.

An ecotourism suitability index for a world heritage city using GIS-multi criteria decision analysis techniques

The concept of ecotourism has experienced a significant surge in popularity over the past two decades, primarily driven by the multitude of adverse impacts associated with mass tourism. The objective of the study was to develop a comprehensive ecotourism suitability index to guide policymakers in implementing tourism development policies. Given the considerable appeal of the study area to both local and international tourists, it is essential to conduct a systematic evaluation to pinpoint suitable areas for ecotourism development. This necessity arises from the study area's placement within a fragile ecosystem and its proximity to a UNESCO World Heritage site. We employed a Geographic Information Systems (GIS) integrated environment coupled with a fuzzy Multi-Criteria Decision Analysis (MCDA) methodology. The GIS-MCDA integrated framework leverages the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) and a weighted linear combination that seeks to amalgamate many features and criteria to assess ecotourism potential by integrating 20 criteria into six separate categories: landscape, topography, accessibility, climate, forest and wildlife, and negative factors. Weights were allocated to each criterion and factor based on the expert's opinions of their impact on the development of ecotourism. The final ecotourism suitability index comprised five unique classes: very high, high, moderate, less, and not suitable. Results reveal that out of the total areas, 45.4 % (259 km2) are within the high and very high suitable classes. The sensitivity analysis suggested that ecotourism potentials are more favorable to forest and accessibility variables. The generated index can be utilized as a road map since validation verified a 64 % accuracy. Given the dearth of earlier research, this study provides vital support for the development of sustainable ecotourism projects in the study area.

The development of the Equator Park area in Jeruju Besar Village was developed with community participation, as an effort to empower and increase human potential, especially young people. The plan to expand the Jeruju Equatorial Park area is in collaboration with Karang Taruna to build paths, gazebos and gates in the Jeruju Equatorial Park area. This area has superior potential for development, such as culinary tourism, historical tourism and accommodation. Tourism potential in Jeruju Besar Village must be developed in a way that is environmentally, socially, culturally and friendly to the lives of local communities. The development of the Equator Park area in Jeruju Besar Village will be one of the choices for tourists visiting Kubu Raya Regency. Ethnoecological Study of Local Community Food in Supporting the Development of Culinary Ecotourism in the Sekotong Region, West Lombok

Combining the concept of ecotourism with culinary delights based on local food resources in coastal communities in West Lombok district is one form of appropriate development strategy that will make the West Lombok district region have its own development characteristics leading to sustainable tourism and tourism support which will become the concept of future tourism development. This research examines in more depth the ethnoecological aspects of coastal communities, especially regarding local food. Through this research, data will be obtained regarding the diversity of local food types in coastal communities, mapping community wisdom in processing and utilizing local food. Local community interactions and perceptions of local food diversity. The type of research used is descriptive exploratory with research techniques in the form of exploration. The sampling techniques used in the research were purpose sampling and snowball sampling. Research data collection uses several techniques, including random observation to obtain qualitative and quantitative data on local food typical of the island of Lombok, which uses an open questionnaire targeting local communities according to predetermined criteria. The research results show that coastal communities have more food resources originating from marine resources, both fish and non-fish, these food resources are still protected because most people still harvest the results using simple equipment. There are around 11 types of processed food as a family practice. Tuna fish has the highest ICS (Index of Cultural Significance) value while mackerel fish has the highest variety of uses. Shrimp is the fish group that has the highest ICS value, while cassava leaves have the highest ICS value for the vegetable group. The local wisdom of the community which originates from their ancestors in order to protect their environmental resources is still maintained today.

This journal discusses ecotourism applied in Bilebante village as a form of tourism that emphasizes nature conservation and environmental sustainability. This journal aims to analyze strategies in implementing ecotourism in the green tourism village of Bilebante, Central Lombok, NTB. The method that will be used in writing this journal is qualitative research by collecting secondary data and observation through the interview process. In this context, Bilebante Village in Central Lombok, NTB, applies the concept of ecotourism to green tourism as a sustainable development effort. This itself will certainly have a domino effect on several dimensions in the economic space with a wider range, the development of ecotourism makes the local community have many options in using the benefits of tourism as employment. This research will use the concepts of ecotourism and sustainable tourism to analyze the implementation in Bilebante Village, with a focus on nature conservation, community participation, and the environment. In the end, this research is expected to conclude on how the strategy of implementing ecotourism in Bilebante Village without feeling that sustainable development is a threat to the concept of tourism applied in the village, and can provide insight to readers related to ecotourism, especially in the green tourism village of Bilebante, Lombok, NTB.

ECOTOURISM IN SIMATUPANG VILLAGE: TURNING CHALLENGES INTO OPPORTUNITIES

Simatupang Village is a village located in Muara Sub-district, North Tapanuli Regency.. Simatupang Village has great potential for the application of the ecotourism concept because of its abundant natural resources and strong culture, but it is not well managed. The purpose of this research is to find out the concept of ecotourism in Simatupang Village and to find out the development of sustainable tourism in Simatupang Village. The research method used is a qualitative research method with a descriptive approach. The data collection techniques used were observation, interviews, and literature study, and the data analysis technique used was descriptive qualitative analysis. The concept of ecotourism in Simatupang Village is an ecotourism concept based on nature conservation and utilizing the environment and culture inherent in the community as a tourist destination that can increase income and prosper the community.

INFRASTRUCTURE DEVELOPMENT IN KENDERAN VILLAGE, TEGALLALANG SUB-DISTRICT, GIANYAR REGENCY

Gianyar Regency has many villages that can be relied upon as tourist destinations due to their cultural and natural potential. Kenderan Village has a natural atmosphere with vast stretches of rice fields and hills, which are the main attractions of this village. Various potentials can be developed through ecotourism concepts as tourist attractions. The development of tourist village infrastructure involves the arrangement of the area and environment to maintain its natural state, as well as the optimal development of other supporting tourist facilities that have not been utilized. The aim of this research is to identify the potentials in Kenderan Village (cultural, natural, and village potentials) and to determine the necessary infrastructure for the development of Kenderan Village as a tourist village. This study uses observation, interviews, and documentation as research techniques, employing the SWOT approach. The results of this research show that there are various tourism potentials that can be developed into various attractions and activities, which can be categorized into three types: natural potentials (rice fields, plantations, and natural beauty), cultural potentials (archaeological sites, Beji Telaga Waja, and Pura Griya Sakti Manuaba), and village potentials (Puri Agung Kenderan and traditional settlements). The development of tourism potentials in Kenderan Village is expected to provide optimal benefits for the local community, entrepreneurs, and the government in a sustainable manner, while contributing to environmental preservation.

The Creative Development of Green Ecotourism Concept as a Sustainable Development Factor

The purpose of the research is the theoretical and practical aspects of the formation of the concept of green ecotourism as a digital developmental creative technology. The research method uses a qualitative approach by presenting data in the form of descriptions. Data was collected through in-depth interviews with informants, including the Cisantana Village Government, local Cisantana Village communities, tourism managers, and visitors. The results showed that the existence of Sukageri View tourism was able to play a role in increasing the Original Income of the Village Government and the welfare of the people of Cisantana Village. This is evidenced by the increasing income from the tourism sector and awareness of education from the public and increasing people's purchasing power. The main strengths of this tourism are natural beauty, dry land weakness, tourism opportunities with the concept of ecotourism, and the threat of new tourism presence in Cisantana Village

Information And Communication Technology Support In Moderate The Influence Of Community Participation On Thk-Based Ecotourism Development In The Munggu Badung Tourism Village

One of the sectors developed by the government to improve community welfare is the tourism sector. Tourism development which involves the government, tourism business actors and local communities, has the aim of developing quality tourism products with the Ecotourism concept. One of the villages developed with the Ecotourism concept is Munggu Badung Village.K. The problems that occur in Munggu Village related to the development of THK-based Ecotourism are community participation and less than optimal economic impacts as well as not optimal use of ICT in increasing the effectiveness and efficiency of managing tourism organizations and increasing Internet-based promotions. This research aims to find the relationship between the Community Participation variable and Tri Hita Karana (THK)-based Ecotourism Development, moderated by the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Support variable. Primary data collection uses a survey method with a questionnaire instrument. The sampling technique used snawball sampling with a sample size of 100 people. Primary data was analyzed in three stages, namely, first, carrying out descriptive analysis, to provide a general description of the data, second, carrying out associative analysis, with the aim of explaining the relationship between variables, third, hypothesis testing, to answer the problem using quantitative analysis with Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with the help of the SmartPLS program. 3.0. The research results show that Community Participation and Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Support play a positive role in improving Tri Hita-based Ecotourism Development and Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Support has not been able to strengthen the relationship between Community Participation and Tri Hita-based Ecotourism Development.

Analisis Potensi dan Strategi Pengembangan Di Kawasan Mangrove Center Bengkak Kecamatan Wongsorejo Banyuwangi sebagai Daerah Ekowisata

Ecotourism is one of the special tours where these activities pay attention to the environment and strongly support responsible tourism. Ecotourism is an environmental services in mangrove area of Bengkak Village, Wongsorejo District, are one of the unexploited natural resource potentials. The research aim to examine Mangrove ecosystem’s potential as an ecotourism destination and to establish a development strategy for Mangrove Center Bengkak. This research took place in the Mangrove Center Bengkak, Wongsorejo District, Banyuangi Regency, between February and April 2020. The descriptive exploratory survey method enable in this research, which included both primary data and secondary data. The interview method us in the research a list of questions (questionnaire) aimed at tourists, surrounding communities and managements. The data obtained were analyzed land suitability, area carrying capacity, implementation of the concepts of ecotourism and SWOT analysis. The result of the suitability analysis show that the Mangrove Center Bengkak, with a Tourism Suitability Index of 67 percent, is suitable to be used as an ecotourism area. Tourism activities in the Mangrove Center Bengkak area also have carrying capacity of 167 people per day. Mangrove Center Bengkak has implemented the principle of ecotourism. However, the application of these principles has not yet implemented properly. Its needs a lot improvement. The conclusion of this study is Mangrove Center Bengkak area has the potential for ecotourism development.
