It deals with null, negative or inconclusive data. It aims to represent the concept of null, negative, or inconclusive data from aspects that surround them. Specifically, about this data, the aim is to raise tangent characteristics, identify typologies, discuss aspects that permeate its publicization and structure an image representation of its characteristics identified in the literature. It is assumed as a deductive, descriptive, bibliographical, and qualitative research. It uses the CmapTools software (version 6.04) to generate an image representation about the type of data under study. It results in a set of attributes, typologies, barriers, and reasons for publicizing the data in question, and is illustrated in the form of a concept map. It concludes that null, negative, or inconclusive data, as research data, are theoretically and methodologically well delineated, can assume six typologies (null, negative, inconclusive, non-results, confutative or alternative) and are essential for scientific progress, but due to biases and obstacles of a cognitive, sociological, economic, behavioral and meritocratic nature tend to become dark data, remaining out of the public's knowledge.

Important and Feasible Actions to Address Cervical Screening Participation amongst South Asian Women in Ontario: A Concept Mapping Study with Service Users and Service Providers.

Regular cervical screening can largely prevent the development of cervical cancer and innovative methods are needed to better engage people in screening. In Ontario, Canada, South Asian women have some of the lowest rates of screening in the province. In this study, we used concept mapping to engage two stakeholder groups-South Asian service users and service providers-to identify and prioritize points of intervention to encourage the uptake of cervical screening. After participants brainstormed a master list of statements, 45 participants rated the statements based off 'importance' and 'ease to address' in relation to encouraging cervical screening. A bivariate plot (X-Y graph) that shows the average rating values for each statement across the two rating variables (a 'go-zone' display) was produced to display priorities for implementation. Statements that were considered high priority to address reflected issues around education and awareness including understanding and communication related to cervical screening and preventative care, as well as the need for trusted sources of information. Statements that were considered high priority but challenging to implement were centered around fear, stigma, discomfort, family and personal priorities. This study highlighted that stigma, norms and social relations that impact the uptake of screening must be addressed in order for education and awareness raising to be effective and to move people from conviction around screening to action.

This study aims to determine the learning of speaking skills in Arabic textbooks for class XI Madrasah Aliyah 2013 curriculum published by the Ministry of Religion and to find out its advantages and disadvantages. This research uses a qualitative approach with library research. Data collection techniques through documentation records in the form of written data related to the speaking material in the textbook. Furthermore, content analysis and drawing conclusions. The textbook meets the standards of a good textbook. The advantages are (1) Teaching material for speaking is in accordance with the learning objectives. (2) the model of speaking practice is in accordance with the theory (3) The subject matter is factual and real. (4) The instructions used are in accordance with the type of practice. TCKGCN: Graph convolutional network for aspect-based sentiment analysis with three-channel knowledge fusion

At present, most aspect-based sentiment analysis studies addresses the syntactic dependency problem of review statements by building syntactic dependency graphs. However, this approach is insensitive to syntactic structural information and susceptible to noise interference. Existing fusion methods are unable to effectively capture the complementary relationships between information, leading to large and less efficient model structures. To tackle these issues, we introduce a unique and original scheme that fuses semantic information, ConceptNet conceptual knowledge, and SenticNet affective knowledge, intending to improve the capability of the model to capture sentence features. Specifically, the process involves four steps: first, a semantic attention mechanism is constructed as the first channel to parse the semantic relationship within the context; second, the expressive meaning of the aspects is enhanced with concept mapping as the second channel, with concepts injected into aspectual words; third, the representation ability of sentence dependency graphs is strengthened through adding the affective knowledge of SenticNet as a third channel. Subsequently, the sensitivity of the model to affective information is increased, and finally, the optimization of aspect and context coordination is strengthened by integrating an interactive attention mechanism. The overall findings underscore the efficacy of the model, showing accuracy improvements of 1.05 % and 2.80 % on the Twitter and Lap14 datasets, respectively, compared to state-of-the-art models. Moreover the macro-F1 scores showed significant improvements of 1.99 % and 1.61 %, respectively, enabling more effective capturing of aspect-specific sentiment expressions.

Teaching of reflection in higher education: a narrative review.

Healthcare professional students (HCPs) are encouraged to utilise reflection during and after their study programmes as a part of their life-long learning skill and professional competencies. However, the way in which the concept of reflection is taught and its' influence students' capacity to reflect have not been fully explored. This narrative review aimed to explore how the concept of reflection is taught in higher education and how the teaching of reflection influences HCP students' capacity to reflect. Articles that were published during 2014-2024 within three databases, PubMed, CINAHL and ERIC were searched. 1929 articles were eligible for screening. 93 articles were further assessed for eligibility. 18 articles were included. The included articles were geographically well-distributed in both the Global North and Global South countries, indicating universal interest in the topic. Eight articles had qualitative study designs; six had quantitative designs and four had mixed-method designs.Conceptually, the teaching of reflection could be categorised as a spectrum, ranging from: i) structured format (reflective templates or debriefing); ii) semi-structured format (physical/virtual small group discussions, video recordings, AI generative arts, in-verse reflection and concept mapping) and iii) flexible and creative (art-based pedagogy or narratives).All included articles indicated students actual and perceived better understanding of reflection. This claim is supported both quantitatively and qualitatively via either validated instruments or narratives and themes based on students' textual outputs. This review identified several teaching methods that help facilitating students' capacity to reflect. Findings are unable to recommend the most efficient way to teach reflection since it depends on students' progress in their programmes. However, a more relational approach to teaching of reflection is recommended. Students might begin their reflective journey with a structured format of teaching of reflection then gradually move to less-rigid format of the teaching to empower students' autonomy.

The paradoxes of U.S. graduate assistantships in education: navigating competing tensions and the impact of stress on graduate wellbeing

Purpose Graduate students employed in graduate teaching and research assistantship positions have a unique experience of the institution because of their status as student-employees. Graduate assistants (GAs) face specific challenges around their well-being as they navigate various relationships and environments throughout their educational trajectory. The purpose of this study is to examine the specific workplace challenges GAs experience and their overall effect on GA wellbeing. Design/methodology/approach This research study examines graduate assistant responses from 12 US research universities to the Faculty Survey of student Engagement for Graduate student Instructors survey. This study’s analysis examined the open-ended responses (n = 493) at the end of the survey that asked participants for additional comments regarding their departmental and/or institutional experiences. Three waves of coding were implemented by the authors to identify common themes and areas of concern on GA working conditions. Findings The findings led to the creation of a concept map on GA working conditions that include three main components: contextual factors, stress and well-being and competing tensions. Within each component are subthemes related to social identity, funding, campus climate, time and priority concerns and assistantship structure and support. The map demonstrates the enmeshed connection across areas. Practical implications Findings suggest institutional investments through programming, system-level changes and interpersonal support to improve GA working conditions and their well-being. Originality/value Research on GA experiences with working conditions and well-being in a US context is limited. This study is valuable because many graduate students who occupy graduate assistantships are asking for increased pay and benefits at their institution. Graduate assistantship labor organizing is occurring alongside institutions’ focus on improving health outcomes for graduate students.

Orientational Metaphor in Central Kurdish

This study is entitled "Orientational Metaphor in Central Kurdish". It attempts to explicate how non-spatial concepts are metaphorised in terms of various aspects of space in Central Kurdish. The main aim of the study is to interpret spatial metaphorical expressions that express the cognitive processes of meaning-making. The study adopts the Conceptual Metaphor Theory (CMT)within the framework of cognitive semantics. It deals with orientational metaphor as a specific type of conceptual metaphor. In cognitive semantics, language is a mirror of thought; linguistic expressions are manifestations of conceptual mappings structured in the mind. The data of the study is taken from ordinary everyday Kurdish. The data analysis illuminates the spatialization of a wide variety of abstract concepts through metaphorical uses of space. The study is in line with the cognitive linguists in that linguistic expressions that represent concepts are not semantically independent, as the Anglo-American philosophical tradition claimed, but are structured with respect to one another. Spatial concepts are first structured in thought in the form of a formula based on physical and socio-cultural experiences, and then expressed via linguistic metaphors; accordingly, metaphor is a cognitive phenomenon, it is in thought, not in language. It is patterns of thought that are echoed in patterns of language.

Transmogrifying Anatomy Learning by Kaizen Strategies and Game-Based Education.

The study explores the significance of continuous improvement through Kaizen in the evolving landscape of anatomy education. In this study, our objectives were twofold: 1) to assess the effectiveness of incorporating games in the first-year medical curriculum for reinforcing anatomy knowledge, and 2) to explore whether game-based sessions elicit improved student responses in the learning of anatomy. A total of 100 first-year Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) students at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Bibinagar, Hyderabad, Telangana, India, were exposed to game-based learning which involved six rounds: acronym mnemonics (Redolent), jigsaw puzzle solving (Dumbfound), Filling gaps in concept maps (Blogging), Connecting images (Kinship), case scenario creation (Penman), and rapid-fire round (Rattling). At the end of the intervention, a test was taken and feedback was obtained from all the participants using a prevalidated questionnaire prepared based on a 5-point Likert scale. Questionnaire responses were subjected to descriptive analysis, and reliability analysis (Cronbach's α) was performed to evaluate the internal consistencies of items. A paired t-test indicated that there was a significantly large difference between before (mean (M) = 17.2, standard deviation (SD) = 9.1) and after (M = 25.9, SD = 8), t(99) = 18.4, p < .001, signifying that the performance of the students was far better with game-based learning approaches than conventional learning. Combining game-based education with Kaizen principles in anatomy education not only prepares students for success in their academic pursuits but also empowers them to navigate the complexities of the ever-evolving healthcare landscape with confidence and proficiency.

Lessons for Sustainable Science Education: A Study on Chemists’ Use of Systems Thinking across Ecological, Economic, and Social Domains

This paper explores how concept maps can be structured based on researcher narration as a systems thinking (ST) approach in science education to portray the systemic nature of developmental work by chemists on solutions related to sustainability. Sustainability cannot be achieved without a systemic approach that considers all the domains of prosperity and well-being—ecological, social, and economic. Science education must respond to this challenge accordingly and find effective ways to include the ST approach. Data were collected from three semi-structured, in-depth interviews with chemists. The analysis was carried out using qualitative content analysis and modelling the systemic structures in concept maps as articulated by the chemists. The results show that authentic narratives of chemists’ developmental work can be used as material in a concept mapping exercise to reveal several ST elements and learning objectives, including leverage points and delays, that have not been presented in previous exercises. The chemists’ descriptions were also found to address the challenge of sustainability education by depicting a holistic and multidimensional picture of the reality where the developmental work is conducted. Furthermore, all three domains of sustainability were identified. The economic and industrial perspectives were especially valuable from the science education viewpoint.

Construct Validity of the Comprehensive Assessment of Psychopathic Personality – Self-Report Form (CAPP-SR)

The Comprehensive Assessment of Psychopathic Personality (CAPP) is a concept map developed to consolidate research on psychopathy. Recently, the CAPP – Self Report form (CAPP-SR) was developed, but its psychometric properties have not been extensively or independently investigated. The current study evaluated the internal consistency, factorial structure, and construct validity of the CAPP-SR in a large sample of undergraduate and community participants. No organizational structure was superior, but a theoretically supported three factor solution representing behavioral, affective, and interpersonal traits appeared to be the optimal solution. The CAPP-SR demonstrated overlap with other preexisting psychopathy measures and the three-factor solution evinced relatively good convergent and discriminant associations with external criteria. The CAPP-SR seems to measure a similar construct to psychopathy measures, though it remains unclear whether the new measure captures meaningful information neglected by other models or outperforms them in prediction of important outcomes.

Development and reliability of the width depth strength tool for assessing the structural quality of paper-based concept maps: WiDeST

Drawing a paper-based concept map gives students more freedom to express their mental model than digital concept mapping tools. However, this freedom can hinder a uniform structure and make determining the structural quality of students’ mental models more difficult. In this dual-study paper, we develop and determine the reliability of our Width, Depth and Strength Tool (WiDeST) for assessing paper-based concept maps in secondary and tertiary education. In the first study, 157 secondary education students created 1377 concept maps in a longitudinal design over 24 weeks. The first study's results indicate that WiDeST is reliable, with an Omega Total of 0.81. Test-retest stability (ICCk2) ranges between 0.72 and 0.84. To test whether WiDeST remained reliable in tertiary education, we undertook a second study in which 80 students created 80 concept maps. The second study's results show that WiDeST is reliable with an Omega total of 0.70. WiDeST remained reliable while the structural complexity of the mental models increased from secondary education to tertiary education.

Exploring the Efficiency of Associative Vocabulary Teaching Strategies to Foreign Language Learners

This study attempted to explore the effect of applying three associative vocabulary instruction strategies (context-based, morphemic analysis and concept map) compared with the traditional strategies on the intermediate EFL learners' vocabulary development employing a quasi-experimental, quantitative, pre-test/post-test design. With the aid of an English proficiency test and a researcher-developed vocabulary test the homogeneity of the participants were checked before the study's treatment. Subsequently, 80 intermediate EFL learners were chosen via convenience sampling procedure from private language schools and recruited for the study and divided into four groups of 20 as the experimental and control participants. The experimental participants were taught the target lexical items with the aid of contexts, concept maps and morphemic analyses while the control participants experienced the traditional instruction (i.e., L1 equivalent provision, word lists, flashcards and memorization). The same vocabulary test was administered this time as the post-test to check whether there was a significant difference in the learners’ attainment for the taught lexical items. The performance of the participants on the vocabulary post-test was analyzed both descriptively and inferentially (a MANOVA, an ANOVA and an independent-samples t-test). It was revealed that all the associative vocabulary teaching strategies were significantly more efficient than the traditional vocabulary teaching strategies. Moreover, it was found that concept mapping was the most efficient instructional strategy for teaching the lexical items compared with the traditional strategies and other associative strategies for the intermediate EFL learners.

Penerapan Quantum Learning Berbantuan Peta Konsep untuk Meningkatkan Keterampilan Membaca Pemahaman dan Prestasi Belajar Bahasa Indonesia

This study aims to improve students reading comprehension skills and learning achievement through Quantum Learning model assisted by concept maps in Indonesian language learning for fifth grade students. This classroom action research was conducted in two cycles each consisting of two meetings with a total of 19 students as research subjects. Data were primarily collected from observation sheets, evaluation sheets and documentation. The results of this study showed a gradual increase in reading comprehension skills and student achievement. In cycle I, reading comprehension skills reached a level of completeness of 57.89% (sufficient), then in cycle II the level of completeness reached 86,84% (very good). Learning achievement has increased gradually as well, in cycle I the completion rate was 52,63% (enough) and in cycle II the completion rate reached 84,21% (very good). This study shows that the application of Quantum Learning model assisted by concept maps can improve reading comprehension skills and learning achievement of fifth grade students.

The Experiences of Hospital Admission in a Single Room for Older Persons With Dementia and Their Families: A Scoping Review.

When older persons with dementia are admitted to hospital, they often feel disoriented and confused and their cognitive impairment may worsen, purely due to the sudden change in their environment. As such hospital design is recognised as an important aspect in the care and well-being of older persons with dementia. As the number of persons with dementia is increasing, the experience of admission to a hospital with, for example, single rooms is more relevant than ever. This scoping review aimed to identify, explore and conceptually map the literature reporting on what older people with dementia and their families experienced during admission to a hospital with single room accommodation. We followed the Joanna Briggs Institute recommendations for undertaking a scoping review. In addition, we used the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic reviews (PRISMA-ScR) Checklist, which assisted the development and reporting of this scoping review. We included 10 sources within a time frame of 23 years (1998-2021). The sources originate from Europe, Australia and Canada. We identified three conceptual maps: Safety and security, Privacy and dignity and Sensorial stimulation. Our review demonstrates that the themes of the three conceptual maps are experienced as mutually interdependent for the older persons with dementia and their families. We conclude that it is not merely the single room design that determines what the older persons with dementia and their families experience as important; the exposure to sensorial stimulation and the presence of well-trained staff taking a dignified patient-centred approach are also crucial for their experience of high-quality nursing care.

Understanding family-centered care in the NICU: a scoping review protocol.

This scoping review will aim to identify and categorize the definitions of neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) family-centered care (FCC) and its associated concepts. It also aims to identify and categorize the practices and interventions that comprise NICU FCC, and catalog the metrics used to evaluate NICU FCC. FCC has been identified as an important element of care for neonates and infants admitted to the NICU, and there is clear evidence that the incorporation of families in care improves clinical outcomes. However, FCC has been linked to numerous associated terms and concepts and lacks a unifying definition or framework, thus limiting the ability to categorize, prioritize, and identify practices and interventions to optimize both institutional approaches for individual centers and for the field at large. Studies that include or apply at least one FCC concept or its associated terms will be considered eligible for inclusion. Studies not related exclusively to the NICU will be excluded. The review will follow the JBI methodology for scoping reviews and will be reported using the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses extension for Scoping Reviews (PRISMA-ScR). Several electronic databases and sources of gray literature will be searched from 1992 to the present day. The review will include only full-text studies in English and will be independently screened by a minimum of 2 authors. Data will be extracted using a modified JBI data extraction tool and presented using narrative summaries; concept mapping; and categorization of practices, interventions, and metrics.

Betung Field Development Based On Petrophysical Integration Analysis And Radius Drainage

Abstract Betung Field which has a productive reservoir of sandstone layers of the Air Benakat Formation. The potential in Layer-5 (L-5) in 2018 is still quite large, with Original Oil In Place (OOIP) of 16,531.05 MSTB. This study uses Petrel Petrophysical and Oil Field Manager software. The output of Petrel Petrophysical is in the form of a petrophysical property model. The output of the Oil Field Manager is a Bubble map model to determine the cumulative production of a well. The petrophysical property model is then integrated with the Bubble map model to find locations for additional potential development wells. Based on the petrophysical distribution map, the Southeast – South area has reference wells with good quality where the porosity value is excelent (30% - 31%), permeability is good (119 mD – 139 mD) and water saturation is small (28% - 38%). Based on the map of the distribution of the drainage radius (Bubble map), the reference wells in the Southeast – South area have large draining radius (45 m/147.64 ft – 70 m/229.67 ft) with large cumulative (3513 STB – 10723 STB). Based on the petrophysical overlay results and drain radius, indicating the Southeast – South area potential for field development with the addition of further wells.
