THE abolition of the complement binding activity of IgG globulin molecules by exposure to low pHs (refs. 1 and 2) has prompted us to investigate the effect of acid-treated anti-lymphocytic IgG on humoral and cell mediated immune responses in the rat. These studies form part of a larger investigation aimed at elucidating the mode of action of anti-lymphocytic serum and developing less toxic products for therapeutic use.
