The purpose of this qualitative study was to provide practice-based evidence of ways to implement an effective and successful workplace depression screening program. Six participants from companies who participated in the workplace response program of Screening for Mental Health, Inc. (now MindWise Innovations) were interviewed to identify what they had found helpful in the online confidential depression screening programs developed for their employees. An inductive analysis of the interview responses resulted in the emergence of nine themes: accessibility, employee assistance programs, online screening, company web page, national observances, education about depression, gender differences, anonymous screening, and measurement of effectiveness.
