Optimization of Production Process by Applying Theory of Constraint (TOC) at CV. Wijaya Mandiri Label

CV. Wijaya Mandiri Label is a company engaged in the printing industry sector located in Sidoarjo which provides printing services inside and outside Sidoarjo. In the production process, problems arise after several years of operation at work stations that cause bottlenecks in the production capacity of bontax and OPP sticker printing, thus hindering the production process to run optimally. This resulted in an inefficient sticker production process in meeting targets that made throughput not optimal. To overcome these problems, researchers conducted research that explored the use of Theory of Constraints (TOC) and supporting methods, namely linear programming, to optimize the company's production process and analyze data on working hours and product production demand. From the results of the research, it was concluded that the company experienced Capacity Constraints which caused bottlenecks at the fourth work station in the last six months. After exploiting the constraints on the bottleneck workstation, throughput is obtained using a linear programming calculation formulation with the results of x1= 0 and x2 = 3,948.47 amounting to IDR16,781,000 in WinQSB software. The final stage of constraint elevation is carried out by allocating operators to bottleneck work stations and obtaining an increase in throughput of IDR6,322,300 or a percentage increase of 27.4% using WinQSB software.

Growth and Development of Nanobiotechnology Applications and Future Prospects

Despite the high cost of nanomaterials and devices, nanotechnology is witnessing great growth and development worldwide, and competition has become great among developed countries to produce and develop this technology by allocating huge budgets and expanding the establishment and support of specialized research centers due to the increasing demand for it. This modern technology is considered the latest technology. What has been achieved by scientific and technological development in recent years, which would work to achieve the economic goals of comprehensive development through employing various economic resources and making optimal use of them. This study aimed to introduce nanotechnology, its importance and applications in various areas of life, and to clarify the extent of the possibility of benefiting from it in achieving the economic goals of comprehensive development. The study reached some results and recommendations, the most important of which is encouraging work on introducing and using nanotechnology as an entry point for comprehensive development in Libyan industry, especially industries that face high competition from imported products, and marketing environmentally friendly products in the local market as a first step through transferring the results of research and academic studies to industrial facilities and various production companies. Establishing, supporting and developing centers for nanotechnology research in Libya and linking them with regional and international organizations to benefit from their expertise in this field, Educating and encouraging the private industrial sector to use nanotechnology because of its great advantages and benefits to the environment and society, Also since oil is considered the primary source of income in Libya, which represents about 95% of the total GDP, if the state focuses on supporting and encouraging investment in the direction of using nanotechnology by exploiting and investing in the resources available to it, there is great potential to benefit from it as a source of income that provides It is an addition to Libya gross domestic product and is considered a source of diversified national income.

DreMoWabe – Dresdner Modell der Wandlungsbefähigung

Abstract The Dresden Model of Adaptability (DreMoWabe for short) presents key aspects of the human-technology-organization approach and the transformation enablers commonly found in the Literature. Together with the design levels of networked value creation, company level, factory planning, human-machine interaction and machine level identified as essential, this results in a three-dimensional structure. It thus serves as a reference and regulatory framework to enable production companies to describe and evaluate their own adaptability in a model and to react more quickly to changes in the production environment on the basis of criteria and corresponding recommendations.

Optimization of garment sewing operation standard minute value prediction using an IPSO-BP neural network

Abstract Standard minute value serves as a pivotal metric guiding the arrangement and balancing of production cycles in clothing production lines, and plays a crucial role in cost pricing and production order arrangement for clothing products. Given the complexity of the garment sewing process, ten influencing factors including fabric weight, fabric thickness, fabric density, stitching length, stitching shapes, cut pieces numbers, notch numbers, sewing technologies, sewing machine, and auxiliary accessories were identified. Upon this foundation, a standard sewing time prediction model, Improved particle swarm optimization - Back-propagation neural network (IPSO-BP), was proposed, focusing on non-quantitative factors. The IPSO-BP model was trained using actual sewing data from a women’s clothing production company. Compared to the unoptimized BP neural network, the IPSO-BP model demonstrated significant advantages in terms of convergence speed and prediction accuracy. Therefore, the IPSO-BP model proposed in this study holds promise for predicting standard sewing hours effectively.

Optimasi Dosis Koagulan Aluminium Sulfat Al2 (SO4)3 Pada Ipam PT Hanarida Tirta Birawa Sidoarjo

In drinking water treatment plants, there is a coagulation unit that requires coagulant substances. Coagulant dosage determination can be done using the jartest method. By carrying out a jar test, the correct dose will be known so that the coagulation process runs well, and the use of coagulants can be optimized. This research was carried out by analyzing jartest results from the company's internal laboratory for one week with two variations in jartest times in one day. The raw water used comes from shipping rivers with a company production capacity of 500 l/second. The dosage of Aluminum Sulphate coagulant used in the field is 165 mg/l, while the jastest results show that the optimum dosage is 140 mg/l. This research is expected to provide scientific information regarding determining coagulant dosage at IPAM PT Hanarida Tirta Birawa which makes it easier for installation operators.

The Impact of Marketing in Increasing the Level of Competitiveness for Agro-Food Products in Albania

The climate that prevails in Albania and the type of agricultural land are favorable for new cultures and agricultural products that have higher benefits than other products that have been cultivated so far. Developing and increasing the capacities of existing products is one of the main components in a small or medium-sized company. A progressive company should preemptively address the planning and expansion of its product range and diversity of culture where it operates in order to remain competitive in the market. To achieve this, companies nowadays need to implement the most effective marketing strategies. Marketing is increasingly emerging as the most significant aspect for companies in the agro-food sector, serving as the primary means of customer orientation, with arguments as to why they should choose a company's products or services over other competitors. With the advancement of technology, the utilization of marketing and its elements is increasing more and more, as the best way to achieve the desired profit, target performance and competitiveness in the market. The purpose of this paper is the analysis of the existing situation in the development of the competitiveness of agro-food products as a result of the application of marketing, through which the market will be studied and make the agricultural producer aware of the increase of their performance in the market, through the production of quality and cost-effective products. The results reveal that agro-food production companies and farms have started to apply marketing in various forms, both in social and traditional media, creating better competitive positions in the market and increased production capacities allowing for the substitution of imported products with local products. Consequently, it has influenced the increase in consumer confidence in Albanian products and brands.

Design of Production System Improvement to Increase Productivity with Quality Control Circle Approach

The increase in population has an impact on increasing community needs, especially in Indonesian sugar commodities. PG XYZ is one of the sugar production companies in Indonesia that targets a milling capacity of 5,750 tth. PG XYZ faced high sugar reject, so it needed to be reprocessed which had an impact hampering factory productivity. Data from the 2022 milling season shows that rejected sugar is at 5.15% with a total loss of IDR 1,619,300 for each ton. Therefore, it’s necessary to minimize the occurrence of rejected sugar. This research focuses on increasing quality productivity using a series of Quality Control Groups with PDCA stages on manufacturing parts. Data were collected through a FMEA questionnaire. The results showed the obstacles were pol blotong > 2.5%, outputting A < 55%, HK drops > 32%, and sugar reject due to black spots > 1%. The improvement plan is carried out by separating and creating a new clean water line for the supply of vacuum pump coolant, procurement, and installation of stirrer pans. The implementation was carried out for D1/D2 vacuum pan which showed a decrease in reject sugar due to black spots by 182.90 tons or 0.13% with a total of Rp 296,164,764.

Analysis Regarding the Relationship Between the Leader and the Team Members in a Production Company in Romania

Abstract The organization is by nature a complex system based on the unity of a larger or smaller group of people who have a single common goal, namely the fulfillment of the main objectives of the organization through professional activities that lead to maximum efficiency in the shortest time and with long-term effects. In addition to this goal, we must add the creation of an optimal work environment, the creation of a favorable image, the creation of prestige, and last but not least the good coordination of leaders. Solving tasks at work becomes much easier when team members constantly collaborate with leaders. Therefore, the general objective of this study is to analyze the relationship between leaders and team members within an organization with a production profile in Romania. Thus, 12 people who occupy different management positions were chosen. A questionnaire based on a quantitative analysis was used as a working tool. It consisted of 20 questions (19 closed questions and one open-ended question). The questionnaire was distributed directly (online) using the Google Forms platform.

Сутність поняття “туризм”, “турист” та “туристичний кластер”

The article is devoted to the study of the concept’s “tourist”, “tourism”, “tourist service”, “tourist product” and “tourist cluster”. The analysis of the legislation of Ukraine, which regulates tourist relations, was carried out, in particular, regarding the definition of the essence of the concepts “tourism”, “tourist”, “tourist product” and their comparison with the interpretation and understanding in economic thought and statistics. The main characteristics of a tourist have been clarified, namely: physical person; travel time – from 24 hours to 1 year; the purpose of the trip is not related to earning income. A distinction is made between tourist service and tourist product, the collision that arises with the interpretation of the concepts of “tourist product” and “tourist service” in various sciences is investigated. Approaches to understanding the concept of “tourism” as an economic phenomenon, a place of commercial enterprises and their classification into those that directly satisfy the needs of tourists and those that indirectly take part in satisfying these needs are defined. The expediency of determining the legal nature and subject composition of the tourist service, which affects the possible ways of protecting the violated rights of the tourist and the correct identification of the person who will be responsible for the improper provision of services, has been clarified: if it is a tourist service, the subject of responsibility will be the tour operator, if it is another service, the relevant entity providing this service (hotel, transport company, tour guide, etc.). The article examines the concept of “tourism” through the prism of clustering as the most comprehensive approach to understanding this term. It has been studied that the concept of “tourism” as a branch of the economy should be considered in the context of cluster associations of enterprises and other entities that provide services to tourists. The author’s interpretation of the concept of “tourist cluster” is proposed, namely: it is a territorial association of enterprises, research, production and financial companies and other business entities that have vertical and horizontal relationships with the aim of achieving economic and social effects and satisfaction needs of tourists.

Research design and production of ambient atmosphere monitoring control system internet of things technology application

In this paper, presents solutions to application internet of things (IoT) technology in the field of high-tech agriculture, livestock in Vietnam is currently a new problem. The system includes an application on a smartphone; access the parameters via the web, on the computer. The product has a monitoring function: the ambient atmosphere indicators of the pig farm (temperature, humidity, CO<sub>2</sub>, NH<sub>3</sub>, H<sub>2</sub>S gas, and Biogas pressure), on the website 24/24 hour and control automatic control monitoring system. This is a problem of researching, designing and manufacturing products to automatically control the quality of the ambient atmosphere to improve productivity and quality of pig raising in practice at Bach Khoa Production, Trade and Service Joint Stock Company Bach Phuong (Address: Vinh Hao Commune, Vu Ban District, Nam Dinh Province, Vietnam).

Development and Improvement of a Production Company (and their Product) Based on the Value Stream Mapping of Business Processes

Abstract Value stream mapping is one of the basic tools used in the processes improvement or design – in accordance with the Lean concept. This paper presents a model of designing production processes and introducing new products to the market based on the analysis of the value streams flow in the production process. Particular attention was paid to the importance of input data necessary to plan a properly functioning production process, which results in a high-value product (from the customer’s point of view). In the paper also the list of all the most important tools supporting all stages of designing new production processes or improving existing processes has been presented. Also the advantages of big pictures analysis using was highlighted. In this case value stream mapping and big picture analysis were oriented on quality in the product development process and contribute to: creating value (based on customer requirements) while maintaining timely deliveries and constant costs (Value Stream Mapping), sustainable use of tangible and intangible resources (removing waste at the design stage). However, from the company point of view, and particular in the cost level, the product can gain value because a lower input is required for its production. After improvement, the process lead time has been shortened in an area where value was not added, but the consequence of implementing the change is an increase in the production volume while maintaining the process transition time – therefore, unit costs of production will change.

INTEGRATION OF APPLIED IPD MODULES INTO THE COMPOSITION OF ORGANISATIONAL AND TECHNOLOGICAL TOOLS FOR CONSTRUCTION

Modern construction projects are characterised by complex multifunctional relationships that require processing a large amount of information. The main task of innovative development of construction development is to create competitive advantages in the strategic perspective, which form a safe and comfortable environment for human life that meets high international quality standards, ensuring sustainable socio-economic development of the country's construction industry. Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) is a completely new idea based on Building Information Modelling (BIM) technology. The main idea is to work closely with the investor, designer and executors of a construction project. Achievement of competitive advantages should be based on innovative re-equipment of the construction industry, development of innovative competences, engineering schemes for life cycle management of construction projects, application of information technologies to increase productivity, reduce energy intensity, material consumption and cost of construction products. The article analyses the benefits of using information modelling and the integrated project implementation method in construction. A mathematical model for choosing the optimal network organisational structure of a project is developed. The main factors affecting the synergistic effect of the construction project implementation (costs of making changes to the project, increasing the implementation time, transaction and operating costs) are identified. An economic and mathematical model for assessing the synergistic effect of the joint implementation of integrated construction project implementation and information modelling has been built and tested in practice. A simulation model has been developed for a comprehensive study and optimisation of the communication network of participants in the implementation of a construction project. The results obtained will allow the top management of contractors to effectively monitor, structure and manoeuvre assets in their operations, substantiate the economic strategy and parameters of the production and business portfolio of construction companies.

This study aims to analyze BTS’s online performances from the perspective of the service value network model and, based on this, to suggest the role of actors in the online performance market of popular music and future improvement measures. For this purpose, BTS’s online performances were analyzed, and the research method was in-depth interviews with experts. The findings of the study are as follows First, consumers tend to avoid online performances that require a relatively long time to watch due to the difficulty in choosing due to the flood of online performances and the habitualization of watching short-form videos. Therefore, consumers should be encouraged to discover the fun of online performances through live chat participation in online performances. Second, Service Providers, such as online-only venues and broadcasting platforms, should pursue economic efficiency by actively utilizing external platforms, and should actively consider utilizing DRM-enabled platforms for copyright protection. Third, Tier 1 Enablers, such as singers and performers, should create a realistic environment like offline venues to compensate for the expressive limitations of online performances. Fourth, Tier 2 Enablers, such as planning and production companies, should secure support for their services through step-by-step integration with Service Enablers (PR and marketing agencies, MD production companies, etc.) from a long-term perspective. Fifth, Auxiliary Enablers such as investors and sponsors tend to be reluctant to invest and sponsor due to unexpected variables such as internet disconnection that may occur during live broadcasting, so it is necessary to add contractual clauses to hedge the risk. Finally, Service Enablers, which are MD producers, should diversify their revenue by producing content-type MDs such as emoticons, as online performances and MD sales are not proportional.

1960년대 한-일 대중음악에 나타나는 비틀즈의 영향을 통한, 대중음악의 수용의미 분석 - 1960년대 양국 밴드 음악의 비교를 중심으로

Since the Beatles’ arrival in New York on February 7 th , 1964 was broadcast, they have shaken up not only the United States but also the world’s popular music market. Korea and Japan, which were strongly influenced by American pop culture at the time, were also influenced by British-style band music including the Beatles. Based on this cultural phenomenon that Korea and Japan experienced simultaneously in the 1960s, this study examined the patterns of cultural spread in the Anglo-American region between the two nations via a comparison of the music of the two countries at the time. This study compared Korean and Japanese 60s popular music in terms of melodies and harmonies that were influenced by British-style band music represented by the Beatles. As a result, the band music of both countries exhibited similarities and differences in musical aspects. A common factor is that the band music of both countries follows the Beatles’ band formation and arrangement method; however, differences were also observed. In the case of Korean bands, excluding their adapted songs, the musical influence of the Beatles is not easy to find. Korean band Add4’s songs were made using pentatonic scales, which give the feeling of Korean folk music. The band Keyboys wrote songs in the trot genre. In the case of Japan, other examples can be found. The band The Spiders and The Dynamites used music as similar to the Beatles as possible, thereby reflecting the Beatles’ melodic and harmonic characteristics as much as possible. Jackey Yoshikawa and the Blue Comets showed enka tendencies. Based on our results, Korea’s 1960s band music localized new English-American music and accepted it in a compromise manner. Japanese band music also attempted to localize, but attempted to copy the trend of English-American music represented by the Beatles. It was confirmed that attempts had also been made. Based on these differences in cultural acceptance between the two countries, the patterns of cultural transmission at the time in the Anglo-American world can be summarized as follows. 1. The public’s level of exposure to Anglo-American culture was different in the two countries. 2. The music production companies of the two countries had different approaches to the newly forming English-American music. Thereafter, Korean and Japanese popular music in the 70s and 80s took different paths. This difference can be viewed as the result of the two countries’ different acceptance of Anglo-American music from the 50s, 60s, and 70s, which are considered a time of differentiation in Anglo-American popular music genres such as rock, rock‘n’roll, and R&B. The occurrence of the phenomenon of cultural acceptance influencing later generations of music is believed to be repeating with the birth of K-pop. Accordingly, the formation of modern K-pop and its differences from J-pop can be considered as future research tasks.

Energy Efficiency Improvement for Manufacturing Companies in Latvia

Concerns about climate change and environmental issues are becoming more and more popular nowadays and are causing concerns in everyone's life and beyond. One of significant causes of climate change is energy consumption, especially in the manufacturing sector. Even though, energy efficiency (EE) topic has been extensively discussed, not all EE aims are met. For the manufacturing sector the reason is that EE is often not a top priority for the companies. Currently the companies are also faced with another big challenge – in this digital era of rapidly developing technologies they have to adjust their practices to seize the opportunities provided by digitalization and automatization. Therefore, the aim of this research is to explore how digitization can be combined with EE to promote the resilience and increase performance of manufacturing companies, and how remote data analysis, also by using machine learning tools, can help improve EE. Literature review, content analysis, empirical data analysis and cases studies from real production companies in Latvia are used to achieve the research goals. The results section shows how digital tools and real-time monitoring help assessing the current state of the business and make decisions on changes to future operations, helping to reduce consumption and the environmental impact of production. Manufacturing companies have the potential to improve EE through digitalisation, but the manufacturing processes are complex and Latvian companies are only slowly moving towards digitalisation. Therefore, there is a strong need to examine empirical cases to gather more perspective and to find a way to implement digitalization and EE improvement across all sectors. Conclusions suggest that manufacturing companies should be encouraged to move towards a more unified energy data collection system, enabling more efficient data analysis and proposals for energy efficiency improvements.

Closing the Loop in the Process of Manufacturing Noise Barriers and Floating Trash Barrier - Case Study

The circular economy embodies a contemporary approach centered on sustainability and waste reduction, gradually integrating into production and consumption practices. Nonetheless, it has often remained a theoretical or abstract concept across various economic sectors. This paper focuses on the potential implementation of circularity principles, using the production process of noise barriers, manufactured by the production company based in Prešov, Slovak Republic, as an illustrative example. Through a comprehensive case study, it was determined that reintegrating generated waste into the production cycle is feasible. Moreover, there is potential for a cascading effect, where original waste could be utilized across multiple production processes. This underscores how the circular economy fosters economic efficiency, innovation, and creativity in diverse areas such as design, product diversification, input sourcing, and production planning. The paper's significance lies in its thorough examination of the production process, quantifying various types of waste to uncover innovative methods of converting waste into new input materials. Additionally, it offers insights and actionable guidance towards embracing multicircularity (via a circularity spiral), along with strategies for identifying opportunities to incorporate circularity elements into production schemes. This approach promises extensive economic, environmental, and social benefits, considering product nature and usage.

Path analysis of digital development on the green industrial transformation of Chinese resource-based enterprises

In the context of the rapid development of the global digital economy, the digital transformation of enterprises and their resource consumption has become crucial for countries to enhance their competitiveness and cultivate new growth areas. This study examines the effects of corporate digitalization on green transformation within resource-based firms listed in China from 2009 to 2021. The analysis reveals that digital transformation substantially enhances the sustainability of these enterprises. Nonetheless, the effects are not uniform across all sectors: they are more pronounced in mining-based companies, large entities, and businesses operating in the central and western regions of China. In contrast, impacts appear negligible for energy production and supply companies, smaller firms, and enterprises based in the central regions. The robustness of these findings is confirmed through various methodological adjustments, including variations in the explanatory variables, adjustments to the study's sample size, the inclusion of additional control variables, and the application of diverse empirical models. Finally, we further finds that internal and external factors such as increased corporate social responsibility, increased media attention, and financialization support can contribute to the greening effect of digital transformation on resource-based enterprises.

Roxana ontology: a standard-based knowledge model for the formalisation of adaptive human-based processes in the manufacturing industry

In most European member states, employees stay with a company for over ten years. During this time, people gain valuable experience and build up expertise that is lost to production companies when employees leave. Despite increasing digitalisation, there will still be processes, especially in individual production, that require experts. Ontologies are an established method for formalising knowledge. Standards are needed to ensure interoperability. However, not all reference models are based on the standardised basic formal ontology. To the best of our knowledge, there are also no references for modelling human-bound production steps. We have developed the freely accessible ROXANA ontology based on actual use cases from special-purpose machines. This ontology is based on the basic formal ontology and uses references from the common core ontologies and the industrial ontology foundry. The difficulty with expert-bound process steps in production is individuality and complexity. The design of special-purpose machines is individual, as are the machine-specific documents and the associated workflows. This paper presents the ontology, explains it using practical examples, and shows its implementation in a real software-based expert system.

Development of big data assisted effective enterprise resource planning framework for smart human resource management.

The planning of human resources and the management of enterprises consider the organization's size, the amount of effort put into operations, and the level of productivity. Inefficient allocation of resources in organizations due to skill-task misalignment lowers production and operational efficiency. This study addresses organizations' poor resource allocation and use, which reduces productivity and the efficiency of operations, and inefficiency may adversely impact company production and finances. This research aims to develop and assess a Placement-Assisted Resource Management Scheme (PRMS) to improve resource allocation and usage and businesses' operational efficiency and productivity. PRMS uses expertise, business requirements, and processes that are driven by data to match resources with activities that align with their capabilities and require them to perform promptly. The proposed system PRMS outperforms existing approaches on various performance metrics at two distinct levels of operations and operating levels, with a success rate of 0.9328% and 0.9302%, minimal swapping ratios of 12.052% and 11.658%, smaller resource mitigation ratios of 4.098% and 4.815%, mean decision times of 5.414s and 4.976s, and data analysis counts of 6387 and 6335 Success and data analysis increase by 9.98% and 8.2%, respectively, with the proposed strategy. This technique cuts the switching ratio, resource mitigation, and decision time by 6.52%, 13.84%, and 8.49%. The study concluded that PRMS is a solid, productivity-focused corporate improvement method that optimizes the allocation of resources and meets business needs.

Efficient oil/water separation using a superhydrophobic polyurethane sponge fabricated by a facile dip-coating method

ABSTRACT Due to the numerous incidents of oil spills and the increase in the production of industrial effluents containing oil, the separation of oil and water has become an important global issue. This research used a simple dip-coating method to fabricate a superhydrophobic polyurethane sponge using SiO2 nanoparticles and vinyl trimethoxy silane. XRD, FESEM, EDX, elemental mapping, FT-IR, DLS, and measurement of mechanical resistance, and water contact angle were used to characterise the desired sponge. The modified polyurethane sponge exhibited a water contact angle of 151.32 ± 1.06°. The sorption capacity of the desired sponge measured for various types of oily pollutants and organic solvents were in the range of 30.50 ± 2.04to 66.80 ± 1.64 g.g−1. The separation efficiency of the polyurethane sponge was in the range of 97.14 ± 0.40 to 99.15 ± 0.30. Furthermore, the ability of the desired sponge to separate the oil in the real effluent of the casting unit of a steel production company was investigated. Also, the reusability and the ability of removing emulsified oil droplets of the modified polyurethane sponge were studied. As a result, the as prepared polyurethane sponge can be considered a sorbent with the potential to separate oily pollutants from water and treat oily industrial wastewater.
