The number of tourist visiting Special Province of Yogyakarta increases in positive trend. The Indonesia Statistic Agency data show that in 2016, foreign tourist coming to Yogyakarta increases by 41,89 % compared to previous year, and becoming the highest rise in Indonesia. Besides having some popular tourist objects like Yogyakarta Palace, Prambanan Temple and Malioboro, Yogyakarta has some new objects like Pindul Cave, Nglambor Beach and Mangunan Pine Forest. Bantul Regency is considered superior in Yogyakarta province, as it has various natural tourist objects, ranging from beach to mountain ranges. These pine forest in Bantul develop spectacularly as their tourist increased four time in number in 2017 (Dinas Pariwisata DIY, 2018). This increase scores the higher in all objects in Bantul. This research tries to focus on the management of tourism in Pinus Pengger (Pengger Pine Forest), Dlingo, Bantul. Pinus Pengger is run by local community, by the name of Farmer Group (Kelompok Tani) Pinus Asri, Blok Terong. The main interest of this pine forest is its photo spots which is actually an artistic installations created by management. It has Yogyakarta city view from above. Based on earlier analysis, it was found that the management faces a lotof hindrances, among other, there hasn’t been integrated wate management, very low customer-oriented handling by the management, very massive use of plastic, limited tourism activity, limited number of branches that can be used as the material to build photo spots and there hasn’t been clear zone in Pinus Pengger forest area. The researcher focuses on the concept of sustainable development communication as the existence of rural community collectivity which is still dominant. Collectivity and community self-help (gotong-royong) which become rural community characteristic becomes challenge and at the same time it is also an opportunity in managing tourism concept which is sustainable. The success of sustainable development is determined by the acceptance of each stakeholder on the changes being offered, and on how far they involve in deciding the changes they would like to make. The principles of communication in sustainable deveplopment has to guarantee the involvement and empowerment of local community, so that the local culture sustains to achieve the tourism which is environment friendly. This research found that main principal on sustainable development is the people. So various set of workshop and discussion held with Pinus Pengger Management to establishing mutual understanding among the management for taking ecological option. One of the example is about to replace branches for photo spots material into bamboo wood that available within the area. The management need to intensify the promotional aspect through social media to reduce plactic and paper material as promotional tools. Collectivism and gotong-royong culture that already exixted in those village, as one of social modality to ensure the best implementation on sustainabilty development principal in tourism village.
