Harmony of Monotheism in Becekan Rajab: Exploration of Islamic Education Values in the Mystical Tradition of Javanese Society

The society's beliefs in Java regarding traditions related to Islamic education values can be diverse and complex due to Java's rich cultural and historical background with various beliefs. Therefore, it is important to note that each group or community in Java may have different perspectives on traditions and Islamic educational values. This research aims to analyze the history, process, and Islamic educational values found in the Becekan Rajab tradition in Javanese society. The research uses a qualitative method with field research. The results of the study show that the Becekan tradition historically originated from the instinct of an ancestor named Mbah Pucet, the first Village Head of Kaliwungukidul Ngombol Purworejo, around 1930. This tradition is part of the village's traditional ritual or village cleansing, which is held every 27th of Rajab. The series of the Becekan tradition ceremony begins with cleaning the graves, slaughtering a goat at the gravesite, reciting Yasin Tahlil, and holding religious lectures. Islamic educational values present in the Becekan tradition include values of faith, ethics, appreciation for knowledge, humanity, balance, and compassion for all (rahmatan lil’alamin). This research can help Javanese communities understand the Becekan tradition more deeply, including its history, implementation process, and the values it contains. It can broaden people's awareness of local traditions and strengthen their cultural identity.

KOMUNITAS SAMIN DALAM PUSARAN PERUBAHAN DARI PETANI MENJADI PEKERJA URBAN

This paper describes the attitude of youth Samin community in Kudus Central Java. Data collected by interview, observation, and literature was analyzed using a qualitative descriptive approach. Result, Samin is Javanese ethnic community the originally driven by Ki Samin against invaders in Blora, Central Java. Its existence extends to city Kudus until now. Youth Samin community in Kudus attitude the see changes in parental attitude from famers came urban workers. The result (1) follow a lifestyle now and (2)no longer a farmer, and (4) younger generation idol a millennial profession. The impact, want to be an urban and worker become urban worker.

Sebutlah Kami Tuli: Call Us Deaf

Indonesia is an archipelagic nation consisting of diverse ethnicities and languages in southeast Asia. As in all nations, one of the linguistic communities found across the islands is made up of Deaf people. The limited research available about these Deaf Indonesians tends to focus on the linguistics of their language, BISINDO. However, almost nothing is known about their cultural traditions except studies about a Deaf Village in Bali. Currently, there are ongoing discussions among Deaf Indonesian communities in Java about Deaf identity. Most of these Deaf members espouse a cultural view of what it means to be Deaf. The argument centers on what is the correct term for a person who is deaf; one side of the argument is that Deaf people have a cultural identity, expressed as tuli (Deaf) while the other side maintains a medical view, expressed as tuna rungu (hearing impaired). These Indonesian Deaf perspectives are shared and documented for potential future research.

Penerapan Undang-Undang Perlindungan Nelayan Terhadap Masyarakat Nelayan Di Provinsi Jawa Tengah

The protection of fishermen is based on Undang-Undang Nomor 7 Tahun 2016 with a research focus on the efforts made by the government to ensure the protection of fishing communities in Central Java. This research uses a qualitative-descriptive research type with data collection techniques using library research methods. Therefore, the type of data in this research is secondary data. The results of the research then contain the government's way of ensuring the protection of fishermen through the Fishermen's Insurance Premium Assistance program by the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries. During the implementation of the program from 2016 to 2019, 111,547 small fishermen received insurance assistance from the government. The Central Java Provincial Government also provides a fishermen's insurance program through the Central Java Maritime and Fisheries Agency to provide wider opportunities for fishermen in Central Java to have insurance. In its implementation, the provision of fishermen's insurance has several obstacles, such as a limited budget and the fact that many fishermen are reluctant to register for insurance independently. Therefore, not all Central Java fishermen have this fishermen insurance. However, there have been fishermen who have felt the benefits of fishermen's insurance and began to realize that insurance is important to have. This study concludes that the implementation of the fishermen's insurance program can be said to be successful, but the implementation has not been optimal.

The Historicity of Plural Societies in East Java

One of the multiethnic regions in Indonesia is East Java Province. Based on the assumption that plural societies are prone to conflict at a certain point, it will impact the dynamics of pluralism in this region. This research will examine this assumption by focusing on the historical exploration of the emergence of plural society and the current portrait of plural society in East Java. The theory used in this research is Social Construction Theory. While the Historical Research Method, with the stages of Heuristics, Criticism, Interpretation, and Historiography, is used to guide the course of research, which will mainly examine the historical side of pluralism in East Java. The results obtained are awareness of the daily reality of East Java society and show that prolonged conflicts that rely on ethnic and religious differences have never appeared. Understanding of the historical reality that different forms in the East Java community have occurred for a long time. So, that reality is what causes East Javanese people to appreciate differences and get used to differences.

Utilizing Special Language in Street Crime Newsgathering in Indonesia

This article describes the newsgathering process among the crime journalist community in West Java, which involves the use of special symbolic languages. Using the ethnographic method, the study was conducted to collect data related to the practice of using special language, especially how crime journalists interpret it and how it functions for their profession. The results have shown that special language is not only used in the newsgathering process but also in daily interactions with fellow community members and police officers as news sources. As a result, the special language used consists of both abstract and concrete symbols. Abstract symbols encompass verbal and nonverbal forms that are embodied in numeric, phonetic, and cosmic codes. Meanwhile, concrete symbols are related to how they dress and use equipment, and how all these attributes represent them as crime journalists. This is related to the functions of special language, namely as a means of distinguishing themselves from other journalist groups. In addition, this special language also serves as a form of identity manipulation, allowing them to take on the role of the police in information gathering.

Parenting Self-Efficacy, Hardiness and Psychological Well-Being of Parents of Children with ASD

The aim of the study was to find the correlations between parenting self-efficacy, hardiness and psychological well-being in parents of children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). The research subjects were 125 participants, with 92 females (M=32, SD=6.2) and 33 males (M=36, SD=7), obtained using a purposive sampling technique from a population with the following criteria: parents of children with ASD who came from Yamet community in Central Java. Data was collected using the following scales: parenting self-efficacy (α=0.81), hardiness (α=0.84) and psychological well-being (α=0.91). The data was processed to test the hypothesis using multiple regression analysis techniques. The results are F-value: 41.22 > F table, and a significance level of 0.00 <0.05, so it can be determined that there is a significant association between parenting self-efficacy and hardiness in relation to the psychological well-being of parents with ASD children. The research shows no significant differences between the participant groups based on the analysis results using a different test (t-test) on participant demographic data. These results of the study can be used to formulate further research regarding interventions for parents of children with ASD based on the theory of parenting self-efficacy and hardiness because these approaches had effectively increased psychological well-being.

Penerapan Algoritme K-Means Dalam Mengelompokkan Data Pengangguran Terbuka Di Provinsi Jawa Barat

Unemployment is a major social problem in many regions, including West Java province in Indonesia. West Java province is one of the most populous regions with a high level of urbanization. With population growth and urbanization, the challenge of creating enough jobs becomes more difficult. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to cluster open unemployment data in West Java communities classified by the number of unemployed people by district or city. This research uses CRISP-DM method with K-Means clustering algorithm. The result of this research is 10 regencies/cities that have low level of unemployment, then there are 15 regencies/cities that have medium level of unemployment and there are 2 regencies/cities that have high level of unemployment. The result of the test using Davies Bouldin Index cluster = 3 has the best cluster quality, because the value of the Davies Bouldin Index test result with c = 3 is the smallest value of 0.28, which is the lower, the better the cluster.

Looking at the Local Participation of Coastal Communities in South Java, Indonesia

This study aims to describe the issues and problems of community participation related to the empowerment program entitled PKPT (Development of Strong Coastal Area) in the coastal areas. This study also discusses the importance of creating a participatory development model. This study is essential because PKPT implementation is specific, combining the top-down participation mechanism from the central government with the bottom-up mechanism, namely the northern coastal communities in South Java. The combination of the two mechanisms illustrates the complexity of issues and problems that are not simple because they involve the interests of the central government and the interests of ordinary citizens in coastal areas. Moreover, the focus of this study has yet to be widely studied by previous studies. This study uses a qualitative method applying an action research approach. The informants of the research are organizers of the coastal community, heads of village and village officials, and personnel of the Marine and Fisheries Service of Kebumen Regency in South Java. The result shows that implementing the PKPT program in coastal areas of Java, especially in Kebumen, uses both top-down and bottom-up mechanisms resulting in low participation of the community in the implementation of PKPT substantively. Thus, implicating the lack of sustainability in the empowerment program. This study presents a participatory development model that is expected to be a reference in organizing a sustainable empowerment program for the coastal areas in the future.

Brand Community dalam Meningkatkan Loyalitas Merek pada Sepeda Motor Yamaha Vixion Wilayah Jawa Tengah dan Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta

Competition between companies is very tight. Companies are required to work hard to retain their customers. The purpose of this study was to determine the significance of the influence of brand community: legitimacy (X1), opposition brand loyalty (X2), celebrating brand history (X3), sharing brand stories (X4), integrating and retaining members (X5), and assisting in brand use. (X6) on brand loyalty (Y) on Yamaha Vixion motorbikes in the Central Java and Yogyakarta Special Region regions. The object of this research is the Yamaha Vixion community in Central Java and the Special Region of Yogyakarta. The data used is primary data with a questionnaire sampling technique. The population is 228 people with a sample size obtained using the Slovin formula of 150 respondents. The instrument test tool uses validity and reliability tests. The analysis tool uses multiple linear regression. Test the hypothesis using the t test and F test. The results of the study show that the brand community consists of: legitimacy (X1), opposition brand loyalty (X2), celebrating brand history (X3), sharing brand stories (X4), integrating and retaining members (X5), and assisting in brand use ( X6) has a significant effect on brand loyalty (Y) on Yamaha Vixion motorbikes in the Central Java and Yogyakarta Special Region regions. The coefficient of determination obtained from the adjusted R square value of 60.3% indicates that the research contributes 60.3%, while the remaining 39.7% is influenced by other variables not included in this research model.

SARS-CoV-2 genetic variation and bacterial communities of naso-oropharyngeal samples in middle-aged and elderly COVID-19 patients in West Java, Indonesia

ObjectiveThe number of COVID-19 cases in Indonesia reflects the disease severity and rapid dissemination. In response to the mounting threat, SARS-CoV-2 genomic surveillance and the investigation of naso-oropharyngeal bacterial communities in West Java were conducted, as dysbiosis of the upper respiratory tract microbiota might adversely affect the clinical condition of patients. MethodsWe utilized the Oxford Nanopore sequencing platform to analyze genetic variation of 43 samples of SARS-CoV-2 and 11 selected samples for 16S rRNA gene sequencing, using samples collected from May to August 2021. ResultsThe prevalence of AY.23 (>82%) predominated among five virus lineages in the populations (AY.23, AY.24, AY.26, AY.42, B.1.1.7). The region in the SARS-CoV-2 genome found to have the highest number of mutations was the spike (S) protein (>20%). There was no association between SARS-CoV-2 lineages, mutation frequency, patient profile, and COVID-19 rapid spread-categorized cases. There was no association of bacterial relative abundance, alpha-beta diversity, and linear discriminant analysis effect size analysis with patient profile and rapid spread cases. MetagenomeSeq analysis showed eight differential abundance species in individual patient profiles, including Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Haemophilus parainfluenzae. ConclusionsThe data demonstrated relevant AY.23 dominance (the Delta variant) in West Java during that period supporting the importance of surveillance program in monitoring disease progression. The inconsistent results of the bacterial communities suggest that a complex multifactor process may contribute to the progression of bacterial-induced disease in each patient.

The Decline of Islamic Local Authority and the Dilemma of Islamic Aboge Community in Central Java

The Aboge Islamic community in Onje Purbalingga has been one of the most prominent Aboge communities in Central Java. Every year, this community is the subject of media attention due to its different method for determining the beginning of the months of Ramadan and Shawwal. In Onje, the Aboge used to be the majority. Everyone in the village started their fasting for Ramadan and celebrated their Eid based on the Islamic Aboge calendar. The Aboge imam previously had significant influence on religious and socio-cultural life in the community. However, this influence is waning. The Aboge are no longer the majority in the village. This paper provides an analysis on why Aboge Imams started to lose their religious authority in the community. Why did some members of the community adhere to Aboge Islamic traditions while others did not? Using an ethnographic method, this paper argues that the decline of Aboge leaders' influence is shaped not only by the challenges of modernity, but also a process of bureaucratizing sharī‘ah as well as the weak institution of the local Aboge community.

Lay Missionary Movement and the Establishment of the Peranakan Chinese Christian Community in West Java 1858-1889

The lay missionary movement became characteristic of the Chinese Peranakan identity and community in West Java in the mid-19th century. Lay evangelists played a major role in the formation of Christian Peranakan communities in Indramayu, Cirebon, Batavia, and Bandung. Peranakan communities were formed long before the Dutch mission agency paid attention to the Chinese community. While it is true that pioneers of the Christian Peranakan community first heard the gospel message from Dutch pastors, it does not mean that Chinese churches in West Java were merely a zending heritage. Peranakan lay people were actively spreading the gospel through Bible study groups, discipleship, and their involvement in social issues. Unfortunately, stories that feature lay missionary achievements are often lost in the historical narratives of the church in Indonesia that are written mostly by Dutch historians. Such a lacuna has led to the loss of identity and missional vocation of the lay Chinese Christians as if they were never part of the mission and church history in Indonesia. This article thus attempts to historically examine and rebuild the narrative of the participation of the Chinese laity and see the factors that contribute to the weakening of the lay missionary spirit and their involvement among the Chinese church in West Java today. It is hoped that Chinese churches can once again sense the urgency to resurrect the lay missionary movement in the present age.

Social expression of the Java community and the relevance education through the film "lemantun" by Wregas Bhanuteja: a study of cultural contextual education

<p>This research is a qualitative-descriptive research. This study also uses two methods, namely descriptive and explanative. Both methods are used to describe and explain the phenomenon of social expression and cultural values of Javanese society in the film “Lemantun”. The phenomenon includes its form, purpose, and context.</p><p>Given these paper, the researcher seeks to examine the social expressions and cultural values of the Javanese people through the film "Lemantun" by Wregas Bhanuteja. This study aims to find the relationship between social expression and cultural values that exist in Javanese society. Therefore, the purpose of writing this paper is (1) to find out what forms of social expression and cultural values can be learned from the film "Lemantun", (2) what interpretations are found in social expressions and cultural values.</p><p>This study uses the film "Lemantun" as the data source. The data analyzed are utterances or sentences spoken by the players. In this analysis, the researcher attempts to link social expressions and cultural values in the film by associating elements of Javanese culture in Indonesia, considering that the film "Lemantun" is a Javanese-language film entitled "Wardrobe".</p><p>The results of this study include the discovery of social expressions and cultural values that exist in Javanese society. This research also seeks to find out how the Javanese people think and the real social etiquette.</p>

Perlindungan Hukum Kelompok Minoritas (Studi Analisa Peraturan Gubernur Jawa Timur Nomor 188/94/KPTS/013/2011 terhadap Kelompok Jamaah Ahmadiyah Indonesia di Jawa Timur)

In Indonesia, the Ahmadiyah have been rejected since 1950 and have gained legitimacy since the MUI issued a fatwa in the 1980. Then at the MUI national working meeting in 1984, it wa stated that the qadian Ahmadiyah deviated from islamic teachings and disturbed state order. In addition,, the regional government of east java province has issued a decree of the governor of east java number 188/94/KPTS/013/2011, namely the prohibition of the activities of the indonesian Ahmadiyah community (JAI) in east java. Thid study aims to review the implications of the eas java governor’s decision number 188/94/KPTS/013/2011 cocerning the prohibition of the activities of the Ahmadiyah community in east java, and to find out the development of the Ahmadiyah community in east java province after receiving the east java governor’s decision 188/94/KPTS/013/2011 cocerning the prohibition of the activities of the Ahmadiyah community in east java. This study uses a qualitative approach. Reseacrhers used observation, interview, and documentation techniques to obtain data. Then use deductive reasoning in explaining conclusions. The result of this study stated that the implications of the decree of the governor of east java number 188/94/KPTS/013/2011 regarding the prohibition of the activities of the east java Ahmadiyah community against the Ahmadiyah community in east java, causing several impacts, namely impacts, social impacts, and legal impacts. Then the development of the Ahmadiyah community in east java after receiving the decision of the governor of east java number 188/94/KPTS/013/2011 is to continue to carry out activities as usual, for individual routines the Ahmadiyah community continues to do it like other muslims, but for comprehensive activities, the Ahmadiyah community is sometimes still hampered by permission from the security forces.

Dampak Sosial Ekonomi dari Pendirian Tempat Pemrosesan Akhir (TPA) dan Pemrosesan Sampah bagi Masyarakat Cipayung, Depok, Jawa Barat

This study aimed to examine how the establishment of a Final Processing Site (TPA) and subsequent waste processing has influenced the local economy and social life of the Cipayung Village, Depok, West Java community. The methodological approach was qualitative and descriptive. Six residents, two TPA administrators, and the RT and RW heads of the area, participated in the study. The results of a thematic analysis of research data indicate that: 1) Environmental degradation caused by the TPA has an effect on people' daily routines; and 2) The existence of the TPA has created new employment prospects; 3) TPA administration facilitates the implementation of numerous activities, hence enhancing social interaction between people; 4) The presence of a TPA improves the socioeconomic well-being of community members. The local community, the TPA management and government must collaborate to safeguard their environment so that environmental issues generated by the establishment of the Cipayung TPA do not recur, and to maximize opportunities so that the Cipayung TPA becomes an innovation capable of promoting community welfare.

Identification of Musculoskeletal Disorder among Eco-Brick Workers in Indonesia

Introduction: Plastic waste is considered one of the common vital waste problems in developing countries such as Indonesia. One proposed alternative way to reduce plastic waste is by reusing and recycling it into bricks. Eco-bricks are a form of recycled plastic waste that can be used as an alternative building construction material. Unfortunately, manufacturing workers do not ergonomically perform this work during their working hours. Therefore, it causes inappropriate body postures and leads to musculoskeletal disorders easily. This study intends to identify the posture of workers in the manufacture of eco-bricks in Indonesia Methods: A cross-sectional study was done with purposively selected 32 eco-bricks workers from 10 waste bank communities in Central Java and Yogyakarta. Sampling was done by snowball method. This research was conducted by interviewing and collecting data on body complaints using a Nordic Body Map (NBM) questionnaire. Results: All respondents (100%) experienced musculoskeletal disorder complaints while producing eco-bricks. Based on the results gained from the Nordic Body Map Questionnaire, the common complaints perceived by eco-bricks workers are upper neck, lower neck, back, waist, buttock, and bottom. In addition, workers also perceived complaints on the right side of the body, particularly the right shoulder, right upper arm, right elbow, right lower arm, right wrist, and right hand Conclusion: Working postures that are not well-organized in terms of ergonomics during the production process of eco-bricks will provoke complaints on the limbs caused by the continuous load on the muscles on the right side of the body.

DEVELOPMENT OF MARKETING PLAN AS A BUSINESS RECOVERY STRATEGY: A CASE STUDY OF COMPANY XYZ

This article explores the post-disaster recovery of company XYZ a furniture manufacturing company in Yogyakarta, Indonesia, after the 2006 earthquake. The earthquake disrupted the company's operations and the local community. To aid in the region's recovery, the Yogyakarta Central Java Community Assistance Program (YCJ-CAP) was initiated. Company XYZ faced challenges in rebuilding its business and community relationships. The Australian government, through Australian Aid (AUSAID), provided substantial non-cash assistance to company XYZ due to its significant impact on the local community. However, the assistance came with conditions, including operating sustainably and integrating Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) into its business to meet these requirements, company XYZ adopted a CSR-based marketing strategy, focusing on environmental sustainability and community engagement. This strategy involved activities like strengthening promotions, improving marketing communication, conducting internet marketing campaigns, developing new eco-friendly products, and engaging with the local community. The case study of company XYZ illustrates the importance of balancing profit-oriented business practices with the social and environmental aspects of CSR. The company's transformation towards sustainability and social responsibility presented challenges, but it also revealed the potential for business growth through CSR integration. In summary, this article sheds light on post-disaster business recovery, emphasizing the role of CSR-based marketing in rebuilding a company's operations and fostering community bonds
