Komunikasi Qur’ani dalam Sistem Pengasuhan di Pondok Pesantren Darul Huda Wonodadi

This research explores how Islamic boarding schools apply communication in accordance with the teachings of the Koran to shape the Islamic character of the students. The character building process is carried out through various activities participated in by students. However, in their learning and development process, problems such as violence between students and bullying often arise. Therefore, a serious approach is needed in dealing with problems that occur in the student learning process. The research uses Qur'anic communication and parenting theory. The research method used is qualitative descriptive analytical, by conducting research at the Darul Huda Islamic Boarding School and analyzing the findings using Qur'anic communication theory. The findings in this research state that the parenting system applies Qur'anic communication. The parenting here is based on the principles of Qoulan Ma'rufa, Qoulan Sadida, Qoulan Baligha, Qoulan Karima, Qoulan Maisura, Qaulan Layyina, Qaulan Tsaqila, Qoulan 'Azhima, and Ahsanu Qaulan. Implementing Qur'anic communication can also handle bullying cases. Darul Huda Islamic Boarding School uses a persuasive, wise, humanist, polite and intuitive model. Apart from that, the implementation of communication based on the Koran has a comprehensive and effective approach, method and model, which can be used by caregivers in preventing and dealing with violence and bullying that occurs among students.

The concept of entropy, emerged from thermodynamics and statistical mechanics is of fundamental importance in some scientific and technological areas such as communication theory, physics, probability and statistics. Fuzzy entropy is much looked upon concept for measuring fuzzy information. The concept of fuzzy entropy was firstly mentioned by Zadeh way back in 1965 asa measure of fuzziness. In this paper , we introduce Mathai - Haubold fuzzy entropy with the proof of its validity. In addition, the elegant properties are studied of the proposed fuzzy entropy measure.

Stylistic analysis of election campaign visuals in the secure and intensely competitive constituencies of the 2021 Sarawak State Election

This study analysed election campaign visuals in the secure and intensely competitive constituencies of Kuching and Kota Samarahan during the 2021 Sarawak State Election. Using Crystal and Davy’s (1969) framework of stylistic analysis and Benoit’s (2017) functional theory of political campaign communication, 20 posters and 12 banners were analysed to examine their graphetic, typographical and textual features. Findings show that graphetically, the campaign visuals in secure constituencies often used images to acclaim past achievements while those in intensely competitive constituencies reflected the electorate’s dissatisfaction to attack. Typographically, the campaign visuals in the secure constituencies only used capitalisation whereas those in intensely competitive constituencies used capital letters, questions marks, and exclamation marks. Analysis of textual choices reveals the presence of explicit messages in phrasal form in the election posters and banners in both the secure and intensely competitive constituencies.

This qualitative study aims to measure the optimization of Search Engine Optimization (SEO) on content containing gender equality values ​​on the mubadalah.id website. This research focuses on the editorial team's and writers' efforts to use SEO on the mubadalah.id website using Computer-Mediated Communication (CMC) theory to optimize asynchronous communication. The values ​​of gender equality are seen from the perspective of Qira'ah Mubadalah, which has three indicators, namely a perspective (minzhar) that humanizes humans, a way of reading (qira'ah) reference texts by placing men and women as subjects and whole human beings, and ways of grouping (qa'idah) experiences, mutuality, or cooperation between men and women. This research uses interview and digital observation methods. The results show that mubadalah.id has a comprehensive SEO strategy, but there is still room for improvement in its implementation.

The introduction part mainly explains the origin of the selected topic, and clarifies the innovation of this paper's research as well as the research methodology. The first chapter of the main text part discusses the relationship between media and communication, and the division of hot and cold media in turn. The second chapter discusses the dialectical relationship between media and contemporary art and technology from the perspectives of epistemology of media technology and media aesthetics, which is of great practical significance for us to correctly understand the relationship between media technology and human beings and society. The conclusion part summarizes the inevitability of McLuhan's media theory ideas, and further composes and elaborates that McLuhan's media theory is somewhat innovative.

A SYSTEMATIC REVIEW OF BEHAVIOURAL CHANGES IN L1 LEARNERS DUE TO L2 NONVERBAL CUES

This systematic review explores the influence of second language (L2) nonverbal cues on first language (L1) behaviours among learners. While existing research has primarily focused on verbal proficiency, the integration of nonverbal communication—encompassing gestures, facial expressions, body posture, and vocal tone—into L2 learning remains under examined. This study investigates the phenomenon of superimposition, where L2 learners adopt nonverbal cues that subsequently shape their L1 interactions. Through an interdisciplinary lens incorporating psycholinguistics, cross-cultural communication, and second language acquisition theories, we identify significant behavioural changes in L1 communication patterns, emotional expressiveness, and social interaction styles. Key areas of impact include alterations in facial expressions, gestural behaviours, eye contact, and paralanguage. Utilizing psychometric tools such as self-report surveys, observational studies, and vocal analysis, this review highlights the complexities of nonverbal communication across languages and cultures. Ultimately, our findings underscore the necessity of understanding nonverbal cue integration to enhance cross-cultural communication and support multilingual individuals in navigating diverse interaction contexts.

A Brief Analysis of the Development of the K-pop Industry from a Cross-Cultural Perspective to Drive User Consumption Behavior: Taking the "Small Card" of Idols as an Example

The K-pop industry, as a representative of South Korea's entertainment industry, has shown significant influence globally in recent years. With the continuous export of K-pop culture, its peripheral products, as a characteristic product, have gradually been actively sought after by a large number of fans. Among them, small cards, as a representative product of the peripheral industry, have gradually become popular and popular, but there is still consumption chaos in their consumption process. Based on globalization theory and cross-cultural communication theory, this article uses in-depth interview research methods to explore the psychology and specific mechanisms of small card consumption, while analyzing the problems and challenges it brings. This article analyzes that the forms of small card consumption are diverse, and their hot sales reflect the development of the fan economy and the dissemination of K-pop culture, providing theoretical and practical significance for the future development of the small card market. Based on this, the following suggestions are proposed: improving consumer awareness, regulating merchants and trading platforms, and strengthening government supervision.

An Investigation of Public Participation on Policy Formulation in Devolved Government in Keiyo South Sub County, Elgeyo Marakwet County, Kenya

Citizens in many county governments are not empowered to understand their role in development issues and feel that policy makers do not put into consideration their contribution in major decision making particularly affecting key development programs. Citizens in many counties feel more often than not that their predicaments have not been addressed effectively by their governments, bring in a lot of conflicts which at times has resulted in public unrest. This study therefore focused on establishing an investigation of public participation on policy formulation in devolved governments in Keiyo South Sub County, Elgeyo Marakwet County, Kenya. The objectives of this study were to: establish the contribution of public participation in policy formulation in devolved government of Keiyo South Sub County, Elgeyo Marakwet County, Kenya and to determine the level of public participation on policy formulation in devolved government of Keiyo South Sub County, Elgeyo Marakwet County, Kenya. The study was based on Participatory Communication Theory and Ladder of Citizen Participation Theory. The study used a mixed-method approach, integrating both qualitative and quantitative research. The study adopted a descriptive survey design. The target population was 115 and the researcher obtained a sample size of 89 respondents using Yamane formulae. The study used stratified random sampling to select the respondents. The study used questionnaires and an interview schedule to collect dataThe statistical package for social sciences (SPSS) version 24 was used to analyze quantitative data from the closed-ended questions. Data was analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics. Descriptive statistics involved frequencies, percentages, standard deviation, and arithmetic mean. Inferential statistics involved correlation and multiple regression. The analyzed data was presented in the form of charts and tables. Privacy was maintained during the entire research period, and participation was entirely voluntary, free from coercion or inducement. The findings demonstrated that respondents agreed with the statement that member’s ideas and contributions in the public participation are given priorities (Mean=3.70, standard deviation=1.40), further, the findings indicated that that the respondents agreed with the statement that there is a moderate level of public participation on policy formulation (Mean=3.73, standard deviation=1.39). The study concluded that significant number of respondents believed in a high level of grassroots participation and others held contrary views, indicating that there may be disparities in how stakeholders perceive the depth of involvement. The study recommended that policy makers and county authorities should take steps to ensure that public participation processes are equitable and inclusive.

The Influence Of Persuasive Communication Competence And Librarian Performance On User Satisfaction At The Universitas Sumatera Utara Library

Research Aims: This study aims to measure the influence of Persuasive Communication Competence on User Satisfaction at the Universitas Sumatera Utara Library, to measure the influence of Librarian Performance on User Satisfaction at the Universitas Sumatera Utara Library, Design/methodology/approach: This research employs a quantitative correlational method to understand the relationships between the variables. The Elaboration Likelihood Model (ELM) communication theory by Robert Cialdini is used in this study. The population for this study includes all individuals who have visited the Universitas Sumatera Utara Library. The sampling technique used is Accidental Sampling. The instrument used is a digital questionnaire distributed via Google Forms to 392 respondents. Research Findings: The results indicate that significant positive influence of both persuasive communication competence and librarian performance on user satisfaction at the Universitas Sumatera Utara Library. Persuasive communication and librarian performance can explain 58.4% of the influence on customer satisfaction, which according to the Guilford scale falls into the moderate/medium category and has a fairly high influence. The remaining 41.6% is influenced by other unmeasured variables such as physical facilities, collection availability, service systems, information technology, and human resources Theoretical Contribution/Originality: The results of this research can be used as a basis for further research on a larger scale or in a different context such as research in more general libraries. In addition, the researcher recommends that future researchers can carry out further research by conducting a more detailed investigation into the persuasive communication competencies of librarians and their role. Diverse approaches can provide a more comprehensive understanding of how librarians' persuasive communication competencies and performance influence library use.

The essay begins with an overview of the atmospheric conditions of an old debate about how to liberate theories of mind, communication and language from their humanist enclosure. It does so by highlighting a few scientific and public debates about what constitutes evidence of prehuman, and nonhuman animal and plant forms of mind and communication. The purpose of this brief foray into complicated debates is to conjure the sense-intuitions circulating around these arguments about the political and ethical stakes of describing a kind of existence as having this or that quality of language and mind. The essay then puts pressure on how these sense-intuitions about communication and mind are scaled—how a sense of the stakes of mind to the treatment of existence becomes a quest to model a general theory of a post-humanist mind. This takes me to the commonalities between a certain way of producing a posthumanist mind and the strategies of environmental protect within the movement for the rights of nature. THE EFFECTIVENESS OF USING A THEORETICAL COMMUNICATIVE MODEL TO OVERCOME A CRISIS IN COMPARISON WITH THE PRACTICAL EXPERIENCE OF BUILDING A COMMUNICATIVE FIELD DURING A CRISIS: THE EXPERIENCE OF UKRAINE

The relevance of effective communication during crisis situations cannot be overestimated, as it determines society’s ability to respond to challenges and maintain stability. The importance of communication and communication technologies from a sociological point of view lies in their influence on social cohesion, mobilization of resources and maintenance of social order.The article considers the correspondence of the components of the model of communication strategies in crisis situations in practice, in particular during the period of the COVID-19 pandemic and during the war in Ukraine, with the theoretical structural components of communication models. Theoretical models of crisis communication, such as SCCT (Situational Crisis Communication Theory), identify key principles that ensure effective communication: transparency, timeliness, credibility, consistency and empathy.This study analyzes how these theoretical principles are applied in practice in the conditions of war in Ukraine. Special attention is paid to communication strategies used by the Ukrainian government. Addressing the nation, informing the public through social media and international support campaigns are seen as key elements of successful communication.The analysis of cases made it possible to determine the correspondence of theoretical models to practical actions, confirmed the universality of the SCCT model, and also made it possible to formulate recommendations for further research on related topics. The results of the study confirm the importance of including each of the aspects for a successful exit from the crisis, as well as maintaining a stable situation in the communicative space of society during the crisis. Thus, the study emphasizes that effective communication not only contributes to the prompt resolution of crisis situations, but also ensures social cohesion and support of the nation’s morale in the face of challenges.

Information poetics: communication and combinatorics in concrete poetry

ABSTRACT While Max Bense advocated information aesthetics primarily in his theoretical works, many Concrete poets applied the principles of information theory and modern communications technologies to their poetry, whether or not they explicitly embraced Bense’s analytical framework. As Eugen Gomringer (the ‘father’ of German-language Concrete poetry) wrote in his manifesto ‘from line to constellation’: ‘our languages are in the process of formal simplification. reduced, terse forms are emerging’. But Concrete poetry was notable not only for its concision, or for the visual and spatial emphases generally said to characterise it; rather, many Concrete poets also employed algorithmic or combinatoric methods or used repetition and variation in ways that mirrored the functions of redundancy and entropy in Claude Shannon’s theory of communication. With Bense’s information aesthetics as background, this essay will explore how the concept of information shaped the practice of these Concrete poets.

Communication Identity of Maize Farmers in the Digital Immigrant Group in Accepting Innovation through the Utilization of Digital Petani Apps

The development of digital technology has brought significant changes in the agricultural sector, including through the peTani Apps digital application that is expected to help farmers. However, adopting this technology is not always easy, especially for farmers in the digital immigrant group. This study aims to identify and examine the process of forming a communication identity of corn farmers in the digital immigrant group who accept innovations through digital peTani Apps. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with a case study approach processed and analyzed using NVivo. The research applied Michael Hecht's Communication Theory of Identity (CTI) in farmers' interaction with new technology. The results showed that farmers' communication identity levels, including personal identity, enactment identity, relational identity, and communal identity, play a significant role in technology adoption. Personal identity resulted in the finding that many farmers felt insecure and inexperienced in using advanced technology, which led to discomfort in using the application. Enactment identity shows that peTani Apps' digital technology innovation has not become part of farmers' daily routine due to difficulties in navigation and understanding functions. Relational identity reveals that community support and social relationships are crucial in adoption. Communal identity reflects resistance to change in communities with strong traditional norms. Overall, the app has not been widely adopted by digital immigrant groups. Social, cultural, and economic factors influence the adoption rate of these technologies, so more targeted strategies and greater support are needed to encourage equitable adoption among farmers.

Relational turbulence during family transitions: a lifespan perspective and roadmap for future research

ABSTRACT This essay answers recent calls to explore the application of Relational Turbulence Theory (RTT) within family relationships (Knobloch, L. K., Solomon, D. H., Theiss, J. A., & McLaren, R. M. [2018]. Relational turbulence theory: Understanding family communication during times of change. In Engaging theories in family communication [pp. 255–266]. Routledge). Although family relationships are perceived to be contextually distinct from romantic partnerships given the perceived involuntary nature of these relationships, we argue relational turbulence manifests in family members’ relational experiences and communication processes, at multiple levels of family systems, and across various types of family transitions that evoke the experiences of relational uncertainty, interdependence processes, biased cognitions, emotional reactivity, polarizing communication, and relational turbulence among various members of the family system. In this essay, we present a roadmap for research that both integrates existing insights and suggests lines of future inquiry regarding relational turbulence in families.

Measuring Enlarged Mentality: Development and Validation of the Enlarged Mentality Scale

Abstract Hannah Arendt’s concept of enlarged mentality (also referred to as representative thinking) has received much attention from theorists and philosophers, but it has not been a central concept in the empirical political communication literature. This article explicates the concept of enlarged mentality and argues for its relevance to political communication theory and research. Specifically, we developed (Study 1) and validated (Study 2, Study 3) a 10-item survey instrument to measure orientation towards enlarged thinking among individuals. The Enlarged Mentality Scale was validated in two national samples (Singapore, United Kingdom) and was found to show predictive validity toward deliberative and political engagement variables. We offer suggestions on how the measure of enlarged mentality could be useful for different areas of political communication research.
