Navigating Politeness: The Forms of Polite Sentences between Health Workers and Patients in Padang’s Government Public Hospital

The ineffectiveness of communication in health services is reflected in the impoliteness of communication which makes the interaction between health workers and patients disharmonious. Language politeness will create an atmosphere of mutual trust, appreciation, and respect for each other. A harmonious atmosphere will encourage patients to accept the quality of health services with full awareness, so that patient disappointment can be avoided. This study aims to identify the forms of polite sentences that occur between health workers and patients in interaction. The research method used in this study is descriptive qualitative method. The data is obtained by using the observational method, this method is followed by recording and note-taking techniques. Data analysis is explained by using the pragmatic pairing method. The result of this study is explain that health workers most frequently use four types of sentence to express politeness to patients: declarative, imperative, interrogative, and exclamative. Declarative sentences are the most common, as they allow healthcare workers to share information or updates respectfully and courteously, creating a polite and comfortable communication environment. This type of sentence allows the health worker to convey instructions or details about the procedure in an informative yet non-coercive manner.

A Maneuver Coordination Analysis Using Artery V2X Simulation Framework

This paper examines the impact of Vehicle-to-Everything (V2X) communications on vehicle cooperation, focusing on increasing the robustness and feasibility of Cooperative, Connected, and Automated Vehicles (CCAVs). V2X communications enable CCAVs to obtain a holistic environmental perception, facilitating informed decision making regarding their trajectory. This technological innovation is essential to mitigate accidents resulting from inadequate or absent communication on the roads. As the importance of vehicle cooperation grows, the European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI) has been standardizing messages and services for V2X communications, in order to improve the synchronization of CCAVs actions. In this context, this preliminary work explores the use of Maneuver Coordination Messages (MCMs), under standardization by ETSI, for cooperative path planning. This work presents a novel approach by implementing these messages as well as the associated Maneuver Coordination Service (MCS) with a Cooperative Driving System to process maneuver coordination. Additionally, a trajectory approach is introduced along with a message generation mechanism and a process to dynamically handle collisions. This was implemented in an Artery V2X simulation framework combining both network communications and SUMO traffic simulations. The obtained results demonstrate the effectiveness of using V2X communications to ensure the safety and efficiency of Cooperative Intelligent Transportation Systems (C-ITS).

Radio-Frequency Electromagnetic Background Created by Mobile (Cellular) Communications

The technique of integral assessment of the radio frequency electromagnetic background (EMB) intensity created by wireless information services is presented, based on the forecast of the average electromagnetic loading on area created by radiations of spatially distributed base stations and mobile terminal devices. This loading can be determined both on the basis of a direct estimate of the average total irradiation power of the Earth’s surface by base stations or the average total radiation power of terminal devices per unit of its area, and on the basis of an estimate of the average area traffic capacity and known parameters of equipment and topology of mobile communication networks. Expressions to estimate the conditional average levels of EMB generated by stationary and mobile components of mobile communication systems, and the results of calculations illustrating the processes of its generation by these systems in different frequency ranges with different average area traffic capacity and different sizes of service areas of base stations are given. These calculations confirm the real danger of an unacceptable decrease in the level of electromagnetic safety of the population and deterioration of the ecology of the habitat without the implementation of scientifically based restrictions on the characteristics of mobile communication systems and services.

The Influence of Excellent Service and Effective Communication on Customer Loyalty at Excelso Vitka Point Tiban Batam

This research discusses the effect of excellent service and effective communication on customer loyalty at Excelso Vitka Point Tiban Batam, with increasing business competition in the food and beverage industry, customer loyalty is one of the keys to the success and sustainability of the company. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of Excellent Service (X1) and Effective Communication (X2) on Customer Loyalty (Y) at Excelso Vitka Point Tiban Batam, the data analysis method used in this study is multiple linear regression, by distributing questionnaires to 91 respondents who have made purchases at Excelso Vitka Point Tiban Batam with accidental sampling method, testing the research hypothesis using SPSS. The results of this study suggest that pasrial excellent service has a positive and significant effect on customer loyalty (sig <α), effective communication has a positive but insignificant effect on customer loyalty (sig>α), excellent service and effective communication have a positive and significant effect simultaneously (sig<α).

Effect of structural economic transformation on the environment: Insights on transition from goods-based to service-based economies in OECD countries

Over the past century, the shift from a goods-based to a service-based economy has been profound, especially in developed nations. This paper examines the impact of this transition on CO2 emissions. Using panel data econometric models with fixed and random effects for 23 OECD countries from 1990 to 2022, this study estimates the impact of Cost Disease as an indicator of this transformation on CO2 emissions. The results indicate that Cost Disease has a positive and statistically significant impact on CO2 emissions in both fixed and random effects models. Notably, a 1% increase in Cost Disease in the service sector results in a 0.2% rise in CO2 emissions, suggesting that the technical effects of Cost Disease on the environment are more significant than the composition effects. Additionally, the findings reveal that 22 out of 23 OECD countries have experienced Baumol’s Cost Disease, primarily driven by technical effects. The results for service subsectors show that the sectors most affected by Baumol’s Cost Disease across OECD countries include communication and education services. Therefore, increasing R&D expenditure in the service sector, especially in Communication and Education services, is crucial to balance productivity growth between the service and goods sectors.

Bridging the Gap: Insights From Telepractice Augmentative and Alternative Communication Services in the Digital Age

Purpose: The United States Society for Augmentative and Alternative Communication and the Patient-Provider Communication Network sought to quantify the impact of utilization of and access to telepractice for the provision of augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) services. The purpose of this article is to summarize findings from two surveys that explored the kinds of AAC services delivered remotely, barriers to AAC addressed through telepractice, and impact of the availability of remote AAC services on people with communication disabilities and their caregivers. Method: The study team developed two online surveys: (a) for speech-language pathologists (SLPs) and (b) for individual AAC clients (or family members in the case of pediatric clients). Results: Survey responses were obtained from 66 SLPs and 90 AAC clients/family members. Access to telepractice allowed clients/family members to overcome both access and financial barriers. Respondents indicated that the availability of AAC telepractice services reduced transportation barriers, increased access to services by appropriately trained clinicians, and improved the outcomes for individuals needing AAC. Conclusions: Telepractice has made it possible for individuals with significant medical challenges, as well as those residing in areas lacking qualified providers, to receive services. Given that both clinicians and clients/families indicated that travel to receive services posed a significant barrier to access medically necessary treatment, the anticipated December 2024 end of Centers for Medicaid and Medicare Services' authorization of reimbursement for telepractice services will be detrimental to many needing AAC services. THE UTILISATION OF E-LEARNING TO IMPROVE CONTRACEPTIVE SELECTION SELF-EFFICACY POSTNATAL MOTHERS

The inadequate prevalence of postpartum contraceptive utilization is attributable to insufficient communication, information, and educational services. E-learning media warrants consideration due to its cost-effectiveness and ability to present knowledge in an appealing fashion, which influences the recipient's self-efficacy for postpartum contraception. This study aimed to analyze the effectiveness of family planning counseling media with e-learning on postpartum contraceptive selection at Wonosamudro Public Health Center. Qualitative research type Quasi-experimental approach. This research employs a pre-test and post-test group design. The populace of postpartum mothers in the Wonosamudro Health Center working area in 2023 was 386 patients; the inclusion criteria were postpartum mothers after 14 days postpartum, giving birth for the first time either average or Sectio Caesaria. The number of research samples was 80 respondents. The univariate analysis uses central tendency data, and the bivariate analysis uses the Paired T-Test test because the normality test results are typical (p value> 0.05). The results showed that after debriefing/education and follow-up via WhatsApp group and TikTok, there was a significant increase in scores (35.24). The significance level (2-tailed) of 0.000 (<0.05) indicates a substantial difference (meaningful influence) between before and after e-learning in the selection of postpartum contraception.

Cybercrime: Psychological Tricks and Computer Securities Challenges

Several studies agree that traditional ways of preventing cybercrime, by applying common computer security techniques such as passwords, firewalls and anti-virus, are no longer effective tools/methods for preventing cybercrime. Moreover, the empirical studies evidence that the most effective cybercriminals’ technique is the phishing. Phishing is the cybercriminals means of entry or technique that devote both psychological and technical tricks to deceive the service users (individual or organizations) to become a victim of cybercrime. In that sense, the individual or organization (victim) became the enabler or catalyst of their own risk (cyberattack). The study established Psycho-Cybercrime Solution (PCS) algorithmic Model that detects psychological tricks in the phishing attack. The PCS model is the awareness and preventive model that provides the early warnings to the service users. The PCS model was tested in 40 e-mail messages, 20 from the author’s Gmail and 20 from Yahoo accounts and its results show the best fits. The study finds that the phishing attacks are psychologically and technically tricked. The common psychological tricks are fear, urgency, Authority, familiarity, curiosity, social proof, emotional appeal and trust, and the technical tricks are E-mail, Domain and DNS spoofing, URL manipulation and link shortening. Consequently, the study concluded that the phishing is the initiator or predecessor of other cybercrimes; it is a cybercriminal entry mean technique, which most cybercrimes start with phishing attacks. Hence the avoidance or prevention of phishing will consequently reduce the incidence of other cybercrimes. Therefore, we recommend the adaption of the PCS algorithmic model in cybercrime investigation and in community awareness campaign on cybersecurity issues. More specifics, cybersecurity stakeholders such as financial institutions, learning institutions, revenues authorities, communication service provider companies, healthcare centers, security organs, e.g., law enforcement organs and others to accommodate the PCS model their security strategy plans at their organizational levels. This will reduce the risks cyberattack and hence improve their organizational performance and customer trust.

Conformal multi-channel MIMO antenna for implantable leadless transcatheter pacing systems

This article presents a conformal multi-channel multiple-input-multiple-output (MIMO) antenna designed for a leadless transcatheter pacing system (TPS), operating across the medical implants communications services (MICS) band (401–406 MHz), the wireless medical telemetry services (WMTS) bands (0.608 GHz and 1.4 GHz), and the industrial, scientific and medical (ISM) bands (0.433 GHz, 0.915 GHz, and 2.45 GHz). The proposed antenna has a size of 19 mm × 10 mm × 0.068 mm (0.047λg × 0.025λg × 0.0001λg), and it is constructed on a thin polyimide substrate and wrapped around the TPS capsule’s inner wall, efficiently utilizing the inner space. For the simulation, the proposed antenna and TPS capsule containing dummy electronics are positioned within a homogeneous three-layered phantom (skin-fat-heart) with dielectric properties that mimic the human heart, as well as in a realistic heterogeneous voxel model (Gustav). The antenna is validated for a real environment using an ex-vivo setup comprised of fabricating the antenna prototype and measuring its performance metrics inside pork meat and phantom solution. The proposed MIMO antenna offers good isolation (>25 dB) between antenna elements, and the impedance bandwidths are 710 MHz (0.34 to 1.05 GHz), 560 MHz (1.26 to 1.82 GHz), and 990 MHz (2.01 to 3 GHz). Further, MIMO characteristics are evaluated, and antenna robustness and safety are tested by considering specific absorption rates using human voxel models. The proposed MIMO antenna is the thinnest conformal antenna designed to cover essential biotelemetry frequency bands, including low frequencies of 0.402 GHz and 0.433 GHz with circular polarization, which significantly reduces power consumption and improves transmission range, making it a viable candidate for wireless TPS applications.

Public Service Communication of PT Angkasa Pura II in Increasing Customer Satisfaction at H.A.S Hanandjoeddin Belitung Airport

This research was conducted to find, describe, and explain about public service communication of PT. Angkasa Pura II Airport H.A,S Hanandjoeddin Belitung. The research method used is a descriptive qualitative research method. The data was obtained from the results of documentation studies, observations, and in-depth interviews with the staff of the authorized H.A.S Hanandjoeddin Belitung Airport. The results of this study show that public service communication carried out by H.A.S Hanandjoeddin Belitung Airport staff has been running well, but still needs improvement in terms of available facilities. The conclusion of the quality of service at H.A.S Hanandjoeddin Belitung Airport has covered five main aspects, namely physical evidence, reliability, responsiveness, guarantee, and attention, but still needs improvement in some facilities. In terms of physical evidence, the narrow waiting room facilities, lack of seats, and unavailability of garbarata make passengers comfortable, so the improvement of these facilities is important.

Patients’ perception of quality of care in health facilities empanelled under Sehat-Card-Plus programme, in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan

Objective:This study aims to assess perceived quality of care among users of hospitals empanelled under SCP Programme,KP.Methods: The assumed satisfaction level was 80% among SCP users, and 10%-point lower satisfaction among SCP nonusers.With a design effect of 1.5, 95% confidence level, and 80% power, the estimated total sample size was 972 patients,with equal group sizes of SCP users and SCP non-users. However, a total of 1,006 patients were included in the study, ofwhich 517 were SCP users and 489 were non-SCP users. Total samples were distributed across 38 facilities in KP, proportionalto average monthly admissions at each sampled facility. The data collection tool included 18 indicators of perceived qualityof care, spread across 6 domains.Results:The overall satisfaction level with the quality of care among SCP users was found higher, 81%, relative to non-users,79% (p<0.001). Disaggregated analysis across the study domains showed that the SCP non-users expressed higherperception about quality of hospital infrastructure and amenities relative to SCP users, whereas SCP users reported highersatisfaction with promptness of service, healthcare provider conduct, healthcare provider communication and quality ofhealth service delivery. Only 326 (63%) users and 299 (61%) non-users were satisfied with healthcare providercommunication. A total of 344 (67%) SCP users reported that Sehat Card Desk Representative gave them completeinformation about benefits and services under the programme.Conclusions: The SCP users reported high perceived quality of care. Alignment of Palliative Care Service Structure and Standards of Care for Adolescents and Young Adults with Cancer: An International Survey of Clinical Practice.

Background: Access to timely, age-appropriate palliative care services and end-of-life communication are two standards of care for adolescents and young adults (AYAs) living with cancer where cure is uncertain or unlikely. Health professionals' capacity to facilitate these standards is critical. This study aimed to understand AYA oncology health professionals' experienced practices in, and barriers to, delivering these standards of care across palliative care and end-of-life communication in Australia, New Zealand, and the United Kingdom (UK). Procedure: We invited health professionals to complete a survey examining access, barriers to, and practices around these standards of care. Tailored to local settings, our survey assessed current delivery of palliative care and end-of-life communication services (including advance care planning [ACP]) and barriers to implementation of these. Results: In total, 148 interdisciplinary health professionals participated (89% female overall; 83% female in Australia, 88% female in New Zealand, and 98% female in the UK). Across countries, participants reported that most institutions had an AYA cancer program (74% overall). Introduction to palliative care services was most often prognosis dependent or "not at any uniform time." ACP was less frequently introduced than palliative care. The most endorsed barrier to palliative care team introduction, as well as ACP, was "some team members not knowing how to introduce the topic." Conclusions: Our results indicate that there are common barriers to AYAs receiving palliative care, end-of-life communication, and ACP. Given that health professionals' confidence in this area can enable facilitation of early, age-appropriate communication, resources and training are urgently needed to bridge these practice gaps.

An 80 Gbps Integrated PDM‐OAM‐Enabled‐FSO Transmission for Implementing 5G Services Under Riyadh Weather Conditions

ABSTRACTThe surge in demand of high‐capacity wireless information transmission links has led to emergence of novel multiplexing techniques for free space optics (FSO) over the past few years. Two such important techniques are polarization division multiplexing (PDM) and orbital angular momentum (OAM) multiplexing. This article investigates the integration of PDM and OAM techniques in a FSO transmission system to enable 5G communication services in Riyadh City, Saudi Arabia. Four OAM beams () of 2‐polarization states of a single frequency laser beam are used to transport 10 Gbps data independently. A total of 80 Gbps net transmission rate is achieved. The visibility data for Riyadh city are collected from Saudi Meteorological Department and the attenuation coefficient is calculated using Kim, Kruse, and Al‐Naboulsi attenuation models. The performance of all the PDM‐OAM modulated signals is compared for the three‐attenuation models in terms of bit error rate, eye diagrams, and Q Factor of the signal at the receiver. The results show that using Kim and Kruse models, with attenuation of 0.62 and 0.64 dB/km, the maximum range of 3.8 km is achieved. This is, however, reduced to 2.4 km using Al‐Naboulsi model having attenuation of 2.03 dB/km with acceptable limits of Q Factor (∼6 dB) and BER (∼9).

The Evolution of Mobile Messaging: From SMS to RCS and Beyond

This study examines the evolution of mobile messaging technologies, tracing the progression from short message service to rich communication services and evaluating the potential of RCS to redefine mobile communication. With the integration of features such as multimedia sharing, read receipts, and interactive functionalities, RCS is positioned to bridge traditional SMS capabilities and modern OTT messaging, offering an enhanced, unified platform directly within mobile carrier infrastructure. Employing a systematic literature review guided by PRISMA standards, we analyzed relevant literature from leading databases to identify the technological, business, and social impacts of RCS adoption. Our comparative analysis addresses RCS’s strengths and limitations relative to SMS, MMS, and popular OTT platforms, focusing on interoperability, regulatory compliance, and data security as key adoption challenges. Additionally, we investigate RCS’s role in advancing business communication through A2P messaging and its potential for conversational commerce, especially when integrated with AI-driven chat-bots and personalized customer engagement tools. Findings reveal that while RCS holds promise for creating a secure, feature-rich messaging ecosystem, overcoming regulatory and technological hurdles is essential for realizing its full potential. This research provides actionable insights for industry stakeholders and highlights strategic pathways for expanding RCS adoption within a rapidly evolving digital landscape.

Analisis Implementasi Chatbot sebagai Sarana Komunikasi dan Efisiensi Layanan Pelanggan terhadap Peningkatan Kinerja PT Pelindo Terminal Peti Kemas Semarang

This study aims to analyze the implementation of chatbots as a means of communication and customer service efficiency and its impact on improving the performance of PT Pelindo Terminal Petikemas Semarang. The research method used is a qualitative method with a case study approach used to examine how chatbots automate routine tasks, reduce human error, and improve operational consistency. Data were collected through in-depth interviews and direct observations with triangulation data analysis methods. The results of this study indicate that chatbots are able to provide 24/7 service, accelerate customer response, and reduce waiting times which increase customer satisfaction and loyalty. The identified constraints include system integration, data security, user privacy, employee resistance, and additional training needs. To overcome these constraints, companies can collaborate with technology vendors, cybersecurity experts, and legal consultants, as well as invest in employee training and routine performance monitoring. Based on the results above, it can be concluded that chatbot implementation can improve operational efficiency and customer service quality with the right strategy to overcome existing constraints.

Joint Optimization Strategy of Task Migration and Power Allocation Based on Soft Actor-Critic in Unmanned Aerial Vehicle-Assisted Internet of Vehicles Environment

In recent years, the unmanned aerial vehicle-assisted internet of vehicles has been extensively studied to enhance communication and computation services in vehicular environments where ground infrastructures are limited or absent. However, due to the limited-service range and battery life of unmanned aerial vehicles, along with the high mobility of vehicles, an unmanned aerial vehicle cannot continuously cover and serve the same vehicle, leading to interruptions in vehicular application services. Therefore, this paper proposes a joint optimization strategy for task migration and power allocation based on soft actor-critic (JOTMAP-SAC). First, communication models, computational resource allocation models, and computation models are established sequentially based on the computational resource and dynamic coordinate of each node. The joint optimization problem of task migration and power allocation is then formulated. Considering the dynamic nature of the unmanned aerial vehicle-assisted internet of vehicles environment and the continuity of the action space, a soft actor-critic based algorithm for task migration and power allocation is designed. This algorithm iteratively finds the optimal solution to the joint optimization problem, thereby reducing the processing delay in unmanned aerial vehicle-assisted internet of vehicles and ensuring the continuity of internet of vehicles task processing.

An Efficient Flow-Based Anomaly Detection System for Enhanced Security in IoT Networks.

The growing integration of Internet of Things (IoT) devices into various sectors like healthcare, transportation, and agriculture has dramatically increased their presence in everyday life. However, this rapid expansion has exposed new vulnerabilities within computer networks, creating security challenges. These IoT devices, often limited by their hardware constraints, lack advanced security features, making them easy targets for attackers and compromising overall network integrity. To counteract these security issues, Behavioral-based Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS) have been proposed as a potential solution for safeguarding IoT networks. While Behavioral-based IDS have demonstrated their ability to detect threats effectively, they encounter practical challenges due to their reliance on pre-labeled data and the heavy computational power they require, limiting their practical deployment. This research introduces the IoT-FIDS (Flow-based Intrusion Detection System for IoT), a lightweight and efficient anomaly detection framework tailored for IoT environments. Instead of employing traditional machine learning techniques, the IoT-FIDS focuses on identifying unusual behaviors by examining flow-based representations that capture standard device communication patterns, services used, and packet header details. By analyzing only benign traffic, this network-based IDS offers a streamlined and practical approach to securing IoT networks. Our experimental results reveal that the IoT-FIDS can accurately detect most abnormal traffic patterns with minimal false positives, making it a feasible security solution for real-world IoT implementations.
