The authors describe equipment for the automatic evaluation of the burst hazards of a rock bed and interpretations of seismic data, currently done manually, which provides for faster and more reliable analysis of information. The Main Mining Institute of Poland is engaged in studies and development of a system of automatic analysis of seismic data using modern computer equipment produced in COMECON-member nations. The system includes hardware for recognition, isolation, and analysis of the parameters of a meaningful seismic signal (event), a device for seismic signal transmission, and automatic data compression system with peripheral devices, and a computer for data analysis and storage. The software registers and processes each seismic signal automatically; the reliability of meaningful signal detection is not less than 80%; the program identifies meaningful signals against industrial noise backgrounds; on-line real-time data processing is available.
