TRAINING FOR THE PREPARATION OF SCIENTIFIC ARTICLES FOR LECTURERS AND STUDENTS AT HIGHER EDUCATION IN BANTEN

Scientific article writing training is very important in improving the skills of students and lecturers in compiling good and correct scientific articles. With this training, it is hoped that students and lecturers can acquire the knowledge and skills needed to face challenges in the academic world, and can gain recognition for the scientific work they produce through publication in accredited national journals and reputable international journals. The purpose of this training is to increase the understanding of students and lecturers in writing good and correct scientific articles and it is hoped that participants will gain knowledge and skills in compiling scientific articles in accordance with standards set by accredited national journals and reputable international journals. The method used in scientific article writing training through zoom meetings with a combination of lecture and practice methods is a very appropriate method. With this method, participants can follow the training material more easily and can immediately practice writing good and correct scientific articles. The participants who took part in the training were approximately 100 people, a large enough number of participants for a scientific article writing training. The results of the service activities carried out were very satisfying, with increased partner knowledge in terms of writing scientific articles. This training can also help students to realize the importance of scientific publications in the context of disseminating knowledge. With scientific publications, students and lecturers can make a real contribution to the academic world and can help improve the quality of education in Indonesia

CONTEMPORARY CHALLENGES IN THE ECONOMIC SOCIALIZATION OF STUDENT YOUTH

The article delves into the challenges associated with the economic socialization of young students in contemporary Ukrainian society. It asserts that the shift towards a new paradigm of economic development, accompanied by profound changes in belief systems, orientations, and mentalities, necessitates early involvement of children in economic activities. Primary economic education is deemed a vital factor in economic socialization as it significantly influences a child's attitudes towards material and spiritual values, contributing to the overall formation of their personality. In the present stage of societal reforms and development, it is crucial to foster a level of economic knowledge that enables students to comprehend economic interrelationships not only in theory but also in practical applications. Recognizing the importance of cultivating an economic culture within individuals and society, the article emphasizes the need for humanization and humanitarianization of education to facilitate comprehensive personal development. A key aspect of this process is increasing the number of hours dedicated to teaching social subjects, including economics. The article underscores the significance of economic education amidst global socio-political and economic transformations and its relevance in enabling successful socialization of individuals within the new economic realities of Ukrainian society. As part of the broader socialization process and the formation of economic culture, researchers and practitioners emphasize the preparation of students for entrepreneurial activities. Three levels of preparation for entrepreneurial engagement are identified, encompassing worldview, advanced training in economic disciplines, and the development of personal entrepreneurial qualities, such as mobility and adaptability in dynamic market conditions. The article highlights the critical issue of preparing students for advanced professional education, which can be accomplished through specialized training programs such as "Small business accounting manager" and "Small business manager with the basics of information technologies" (two years of study). To facilitate effective learning, a combination of lectures, workshops, seminars, discussions, and the simulation of diverse economic situations is recommended.

Implementasi Pembelajaran Aqidah Akhlak dalam Membentuk Adab Berbusana Peserta Didik

This research is motivated by the large number of young women who wear clothes that are not in accordance with Islamic teachings. Therefore it is necessary to have guidance from various parties to shape the manners of dressing young women. One of them is learning in madrasas. The purpose of this study was to find out the implementation of Aqidah Akhlak learning in shaping the dress code of students of class XI MAN Lima Puluh Kota. This study used a qualitative research method with research informants: madrasa heads, Aqidah Akhlak teachers, and class XI students. Data collection techniques using observation, interviews, questionnaires and documentation. Data analysis techniques using data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. The results of this study are: 1) the teacher's Aqidah Akhlak lesson plan prepares learning tools in the form of annual semester programs, syllabus, lesson plans and assessment tools. In preparing learning tools, the teacher considers the appropriate time allocation, models, methods, sources, and learning media for dress etiquette material. 2) the implementation of Aqidah Akhlak learning in forming dress etiquette, the teacher applies the discovery learning model by using a learning method that is a combination of lecture, question and answer, and demonstration methods and is assisted through learning media in the form of PPT and learning resources Aqidah Akhlak package books. Evaluations carried out by Aqidah Akhlak teachers in forming dress etiquette are observations for attitude assessment, tests in the form of descriptions and objectives for knowledge assessment, as well as portfolio assessment for skills assessment.

The most important part that can be done to improve the quality of education is by improving the quality of teachers because teachers are the spearhead of education so teachers must have different abilities from other professions, one of which is the ability to write scientific papers. By having the ability to write scientifically, the teacher gains many things, besides that his work can be read nationally and internationally, the teacher also gets points to be used as a requirement for promotion, class promotion, and promotion. The counseling entitled Assistance in Writing Scientific Papers and Publishing Articles for Teachers of SD Gugus 5, Selaparang District, Mataram City is part of the community service of FKIP University of Mataram, majoring in Education, which aims to improve the quality of teachers, especially in compiling scientific papers for publication . The method applied in this counseling activity is a combination of lecture, question and answer, demonstration and assignment methods. The lecture method is used when delivering counseling material, and the question-and-answer method and demonstrations are used for teachers to discuss their scientific work in their respective groups. While demonstrations are carried out when each group presents the results of scientific work that has been compiled. There are 2 targets for this dedication, namely: (1) Providing assistance in the preparation of scientific articles with the stages according to the standards and rules for writing articles; (b) Review scientific articles that have been compiled by teachers and end with publication in national journals accredited Sinta index 4.

One Size Does Not Fit All in Remote Anatomy Teaching.

Anatomical knowledge is central to the advancement of biomedical research and clinical practice and provides the underpinning foundations for many clinical examinations and processes. Anatomy is a very practical and three-dimensional subject, requiring learners to be able to visualise structures within the body and how they interact with each other. Typically, this is taught through a combination of lectures and practical laboratories in which students can interact with human cadaveric material to gain an appreciation of real-life anatomy, often commenting on how these lab sessions really bring their lectures to life.Like so many things, the teaching of anatomy on university campuses became severely restricted with the arrival of the COVID-19 pandemic in March 2020. Staff and students were no longer able to attend universities and body donation programmes were halted. This brought with it both challenges and opportunities to redevelop digital anatomy education. This chapter will discuss the different teaching approaches taken to delivery anatomy education at the University of Glasgow in three different programmes: (1) Bachelor of Science Honours (BSc Hons) degree in Anatomy, (2) the Glasgow Access to Medicine Programme (GAP), and (3) the undergraduate Bachelor degree in Medicine (MBChB). These three programmes were selected as they each teach anatomy to undergraduate students but the teaching methods, class sizes, and student backgrounds for each is very different. In discussing the different approaches taken and reflecting on staff and student feedback on these experiences, we hope to provide not just a record of the unprecedented and rapid changes to education during this time but also to offer some thoughts on how lessons might be learned as we return to on-campus teaching.

Tuberculosis Family Support Training’s (TB FaST) Influence on Encouraging TB Treatment Compliance

Background: Family support is necessary for tuberculosis (TB) treatment compliance. Family intentions and practices in providing support to TB patients require considerable improvement, which is possible via training. Objective: This study aimed to analyze the influence of tuberculosis family support training (TB FaST) on the family members’ intentions and practices in encouraging TB treatment compliance in the continuation phase. Methods: This quasi-experimental study with a pretest-posttest control group design involved 56 TB patients and 56 family members of patients who had undergone the continuation phase of category 1 TB treatment in the third and fourth months. All patients treated with tuberculosis were directly observed with treatment short-course (TB DOTS) at primary health care. All the subjects were divided into intervention and control groups. TB FaST was given only to the intervention group and delivered using a combination of lectures, case-based focused group discussions, and role-playing in problem-solving over two consecutive days. Results: The result showed a significant improvement in the family support practices five weeks after training in the intervention group compared to the control group (p&lt;0.05). However, only a slight improvement was observed in the family intentions (p&gt;0.05). Conclusion: TB FaST mainly affects the practices of family members in providing family support to encourage TB treatment compliance in the continuation phase. We recommend that TB FaST or other educational tools be used again after TB FaST to improve intention.

Assessing a pilot co-operative-based workshop-subsidy model toward improving small-scale chicken production in peri-urban Nepal.

Farmers in Nepal face many of the same global challenges associated with initiating and scaling poultry husbandry as many other developing countries. These include access to innovative approaches in finance, credit, coop design, marketing, and sales. As with most low-income countries, Nepalese poultry farmers also lack adequate training in poultry husbandry including biosecurity. In this paper, we describe a collaborative workshop-subsidy approach to addressing these challenges conducted by a partnership with the UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine, the College of Engineering, the School of Education, and a farming co-operative based in the semi-rural area of Bhaktapur, Nepal. The program included two workshops covering aspects of poultry rearing including coop construction, chick rearing, biosecurity, and husbandry. Both workshops were a combination of lectures and hands-on learning. Following completion of the workshops, each farmer received subsidized materials for coop construction and poultry rearing. The co-operative provided training facilities and a market for selling eggs. Despite an outbreak of Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI), which affected the scale of program implementation, our results suggest that the workshop subsidy collaborative approach can be successful in reducing market entry barriers. Our 6-mo post-workshop survey showed that two-thirds of the workshop participants ultimately built their own coop and raised chicks. Half of these participants reported market available egg production and a doubling of egg consumption at home.

Pelatihan Bertanam Hidroponik dan Organik Untuk Pertanian Masa Depan Kepada Santri dan Siswa SMK Pondok Pesantren Shofa Marwa Arjasa Jember

The use of the yard is still not done well. One way to use the yard is with hydroponics. Moreover, hydroponics does not require large costs. Hydroponic materials can be made by utilizing used goods. Hydroponics is very suitable for students and students of the Shofa Marwa Islamic Boarding School in Jember Regency who can take advantage of the yard around the Islamic boarding school. The method used in this training is Student Central Learning (SCL), with a combination of lectures, discussions and hands-on practice. The results of this service activity were successful as shown by the ability of participants to make hydroponic and organic plants using locally available materials. The follow-up to the results of this activity is to carry out hydroponic planting by the Santri and Students of the Shofa Marwa Islamic Boarding School. In addition, the installation of Nutrient Film Technique (NFT), mini shelves of the Deep Flow Technique (DFT) system and aquaponics for hydroponic vegetable cultivation for 518 plants was also made. Pelatihan Kahoot untuk Pembuatan Kuis Online bagi Guru TK Tarbiyatul Athfal Kaliaman 02, Kecamatan Kembang, Kabupaten Jepara

This article discusses the results of community service entitled kahoot training for making online quizzes for Tarbiyatul Athfal Kaliaman 02 Kindergarten teachers. The method used in this training is a combination of lecture, practice, and question-and-answer (Q&amp;A) methods. The benefits of this training are: First, the existence of the kahoot makes learning activities more quality, interactive, and fun. Second, teachers gain a lot of knowledge, experience, and skills using the kahoot to create various educational and entertaining online quizzes. This skill was very useful, especially during the Covid-19 pandemic, learning at TK Tarbiyatul Athfal Kaliaman 02 was carried out online. Third, although during the Covid-19 pandemic, offline learning is rarely held, online quizzes using the kahoot really helps teachers in transferring knowledge to their students in a very fun way. Fourth, since using the kahoot tto create online quizzes, the lessons that teachers do are more varied, entertaining, and challenging. Students are also very happy with the online quizzes given by the teacher. Fifth, the kahoot attracts teachers and students because it is not paid (free of charge). Teachers and students only need to have a gadget in the form of a laptop, computer, or smart phone, to access and use the kahoot.

Pengaruh Participatory Learning Approach (PLA) terhadap Pengetahuan dan Kesadaran Ibu dalam Pencegahan Stunting

A mother in the family has an important in fulfilling family nutrition to prevent stunting. Various methods and counseling to mothers to increase knowledge have been widely given, but most are still traditional or one-way models. The learning approach that is currently being developed is a learning model that involves an active role or maximum participation so that the learning target is more involved. Participatory Learning Approach PLA) is a method that is believed not only to increase knowledge but also increase awareness about learning materials to a deeper extent. Through a combination of lectures, demonstrations, discussions and presentations, it is hoped that there will be an increase in knowledge and awareness of mothers will be better. This study aims to identify the influence of participatory learning approach techniques in increasing maternal awareness and knowledge in stunting prevention. The research was conducted using the Quasi Experimental method, with the Pre And Post Test With Control Group Design model. Data collection was carried out through a 3S (Sehari Sadar Stunting) learning program to 50 mothers divided into two groups. The intervention group was given a one-day learning program with a Participatory Learning Approach approach, namely a combination of lectures, demonstrations, discussions and presentations.While the control group was given a joint program but with a traditional learning model. The two groups then conducted a pre and post test looking for differences in scores through the paired t test. The results of the study obtained by the implementation of PLA were able to increase maternal knowledge about stunting with the results of paired t tests in pre-post tests increased significantly p 0.001 (p &gt; 0.005). This method is also able to increase maternal awareness in stunting prevention measures through pregnancy screening, exclusive breastfeeding, supplemental feeding and food processing varyingly. The conclusion of this study is that the implementation of the Participatory Learning Approach method is able to increase the understanding and awareness of mothers and mothers-to-be in stunting prevention measures. Exploration of multi-faceted model in plant biology teaching

Plant biology is a basic course for students majoring in biological science. Under the guidance of developmental biology, we have constructed a comprehensive, systematic and dynamic new curriculum system for plant biology. There are still some problems existing in the current curriculum teaching mode, e.g. the students do not listen carefully to the lecture due to single classroom teaching mode, the mismatch between theoretical and experimental courses in terms of content and timing, the incomplete understanding on plants and the difficulty of integrating learning and practicing due to insufficient field practices. In view of these problems, a series of new teaching strategies for bioscience major of Harbin Institute of Technology were proposed and implemented. The combination of lectures and high quality massive open online courses (MOOC) were used for theoretical study, to which the flipped classroom was added. In addition, the theoretical study and the experiment work were combined. Moreover, the plant cognitive practices were carried out in the campus and the botanical garden in early spring, late spring and summer, respectively. Satisfactory results were achieved after two rounds of teaching practice, which fulfilled the education requirements and laid foundations for students to continue follow-up basic and professional courses.

Shadows and Lights: Perspectives of Training and Education in Neurosurgery for Undergraduate Students.

IntroductionNeurosurgical education should start during medical school to involve more students, favoring the recruitment of the most prepared and motivated ones and spreading this subject to the future medical generations. Despite multiple investigations, a dedicated educational plan does not exist. This study aims to assess the undergraduates' interests, needs, and perceptions of this subject.Materials and MethodsThe survey was structured to collect demographic data of the participants, and to explore their interest in neurosurgery, their consideration of its importance in medical school, their opinions about the role of this subject in medical education, their needs in this training, and, the usefulness of this subject for their future career.ResultsA total of 156 students participated in the survey. Interest in neurosurgery was shown by 76 (48.7%) participants, however, this subject was also perceived as intimidating by 86 (55.1%). Attending the first 2 years of medical school (p < 0.02), previous interest in neuroscience (p < 0.01), and in a surgical subject (p < 0.01) were the factors associated with a greater interest in this subject. Neurosurgery should be included in all students' education, according to 117 (75.0%) participants and practical operating room training should involve all students, according to 96 (61.5%). The most effective learning methods were considered internship (134, 85.9%), followed by participation in meetings or seminars (113, 72.4%). Online seminars were considered useful by 119 participants (76.3%). Neurosurgery was assessed as a potentially interesting career by 99 students (63.5%), who also considered that it can increase their preparation for other subjects (116, 74.4%).ConclusionsNeurosurgery was positively considered by medicals students, who, however, also perceived it as intimidating and hardly approachable. Demonstration that knowledge of neurosurgical concepts can improve their preparation also in general medical settings and, not only in the field of neuroscience, can be useful to promote their interest toward this subject. A combination of lectures and practical internships is considered an effective learning method, which can be fruitfully associated with new technologies.

This study aims to compare students' understanding and knowledge retention when taught through PBL and lecture-based classes and compare PAHS students' perceptions of PBL and lectures in medical education. Methods: This is a cross-sectional study of medical students of a PBL based medical school in Nepal, a non-Western low-income country. Ethical approval was given by the institutional research committee of the Patan Academy of Health Sciences. Understanding and knowledge retention was assessed with 50 vignette-based multiple-choice questions, half of which were taught through PBL sessions, and the remaining half were taught in didactic lectures during basic science years of medical school. A separate pre-validated perception questionnaire was used to assess students' preferences regarding PBL and lectures. Results: Out of 107 students, 99 participated in the understanding and knowledge retention questionnaires and 107 completed perception questionnaires. Understanding and knowledge retention of students was found to be the same for topics taught by PBL and lectures, with median scores of 17 and s16, respectively. PBL were mostly preferred for the physiology (59.81%), pathology (51.40%) and pharmacology (53.27%) concepts, and lectures were mostly preferred for the anatomy (78.50%), biochemistry (45.79%), and microbiology (42.99%) topics. Students wanted the same concepts to be taught through both PBL and lectures, especially for anatomy. Conclusions: Understanding and knowledge retention is the same for topics taught by either PBL or lectures during the basic science years of undergraduate medical education. Students prefer PBL for physiology, pathology, and pharmacology-related concepts, conventional didactic lecture for physiology and microbiology, and a combination of lecture and PBL sessions for anatomy.

Digital Marine: An online platform for blended learning in a marine experimental biology module, the Schmid Training Course.

For over 20 years, the Schmid Training Course (STC) has offered unique opportunities for marine biology students from European universities to learn about marine model organisms. While the topics of the course have continuously changed over the years with the advent of new research techniques and discoveries, the pedagogical approach has remained largely the same - a combination of lectures, lab practicals, and field excursions. Several life science researchers, who have taught in the STC for many years, sought to bring the course's pedagogical approach into the 21st century, and with the support of Erasmus+ Programme of the European Community funding, the Digital Marine project was developed. Digital Marine began in 2018 as an international partnership between the six research centers from which the STC instructors hail, and its main objective was to introduce a flipped, blended approach to learning and teaching with respect to established and emerging marine biological model systems. The Digital Marine platform, which covers 12 marine model organisms, is now publicly available.

Training on The Utilization of Mendeley and Similarity in Increasing The Quality of Students’ Academic Work

However, the issue is that students view writing research reports as a very tiresome task, whether it's making quota-tions, creating lists, or many prefer a fast flow such as copy paste. As a result, this training activity is predicted to be beneficial for students in terms of writ-ing research results and the outcomes of their studies in the form of scientific papers, as well as enhancing the quality of scientific articles for students, par-ticularly in the field of education. The instructional approach is a combination of lecture, question and answer, simulation, and practice.

МЕТОДИКА ОРГАНИЗАЦИИ ЭКСКУРСИОННОЙ РАБОТЫ В УСЛОВИЯХ ОГРАНИЧЕННОГО ПРОСТРАНСТВА ЭКСПОЗИЦИИ (ПО ОПЫТУ АЛТАЙСКОГО ГОСУДАРСТВЕННОГО КРАЕВЕДЧЕСКОГО МУЗЕЯ)

The article is devoted to a review of theoretical and practical developments of excursion work in a limited exhibition space. Such situation may develop due to various conditions - starting from an accident (fire, utility accident) and ending with the limitation of the exhibition space due to renovation or reconstruction. For the aim of implementation of demonstration museum work in such conditions, the military-historical department of the Altai State Museum of Regional Studies has developed and implemented several methods that already exist in museological practice. First of all, it is a combination of lecture, multimedia and interactive activities, involving the active participation of organized groups of visitors. Organization of small temporary exhibitions dedicated to the milestone events of military history and their inclusion in the organized complex exposition activities are of great importance. The developed thematic methods and techniques can successfully help overcome temporary difficulties in the work of the museum.

PENYULUHAN PENGENALAN ANTI FRAUD BAGI SISWA/I SMA DAN SMK SEBAGAI UPAYA PENCEGAHAN TINDAKAN KECURANGAN

This paper is a paper written based on the results of the implementation of Community Service for 190 students and several teachers at SMA Muhammadiyah 23 Jakarta and SMK Bina Harapan Ciseeng. The aim of this socialization is to provide an understanding of the various acts of fraud, dangers, and losses due to fraud. Moreover, students are able to instill anti-fraud character and attitude since school. In the implementation of this Community Service, there is a pre-test to find out students’ level of knowledge about fraud and the materials were delivered by andragogy method, which is a combination of lecture, discussion, and question and answer methods. Thus, the activity ended with a documentation session and providing souvenirs for the best questioners and answerers. The results obtained are that the term “fraud” and the level of understanding about fraud are still not familiar enough among these students so that through this activity it is hoped that they will be able to think and act ethically and help reduce, prevent, and eradicate fraud in the future.

Improving surgical training: Establishing a surgical anatomy programme in Scotland

BackgroundIt is well recognized that a sound foundation in surgical anatomy is a cornerstone of safe surgical practice, yet many trainees struggle with the upskilling in anatomy that is required to support their day-to-day practice. In the context of the UK-wide Improving Surgical Training pilot, we set out to establish a surgical anatomy programme for core surgical trainees in the Scotland Deanery. The aim was to enable all trainees to review the surgical anatomy of the whole body to MRCS level at least once during core surgical training. Materials and Methods. Teaching was delivered in Edinburgh, with trainees commuting from all parts of the Scotland Deanery. Individual teaching days focused on the surgical anatomy of the head and neck, trunk and limbs, using a combination of lectures (principles and cases) and interactive demonstrations on prosected specimens. Faculty comprised a balance of surgical demonstrators and senior academic staff, including MRCS examiners. Results. In total, 16 individual teaching sessions were attended by over 300 trainees across the first 2 years of the programme. Evaluation form response rate was nearly 80%. The programme was highly rated by trainees in relation to the method of delivery, level of teaching and surgical focus. Conclusion. Surgical anatomy remains an integral part of surgical training. Our experience in developing a deanery-wide surgical anatomy programme highlights the crucial links between medical school, training deanery and surgical college. This collaborative approach can be extended to higher surgical training and continuing professional development, and the methods can be adapted to meet the needs of trainees in different parts of the globe.
