Early childhood education plays a crucial role in preparing children with foundational knowledge for further education at the primary level. Within Early Childhood Education (ECE), children are nurtured to become independent individuals, fostering social interaction, strong self-confidence, a keen interest in exploring knowledge, the ability to adopt positive ideas, develop their own thoughts, adapt to new environments, demonstrate high enthusiasm for learning, and exhibit high levels of creativity. Early childhood education, including preschool education, aids in the physical and mental development of children, covering various aspects such as religious and moral values, social, emotional, cognitive, linguistic, and motor skills. This education can be conducted through various pathways, including formal, informal, and non-formal, with one form being the Integrated Early Childhood Education (IECE) program. The collage method serves as an effective approach to enhance children's fine motor skills, optimally implemented in several IECE institutions like RA Yaa Bunayya in Mompang Julu Village. Qualitative methods are employed in this research, utilizing triangulation data collection techniques comprising observation, interviews, and documentation. Collage activities at RA Yaa Bunayya are planned according to the children's needs, utilizing safe and diverse natural materials, providing valuable experiences for children to explore textures and shapes. Collage activities also offer advantages in improving concentration, recognizing colors, and identifying shapes, which are crucial aspects of children's development.

Conducting collage elicitation research online: what happens when we remove the scissors and glue?

PurposeThis autoethnographic article presents the adaptation of collage—an arts-based method traditionally used in face-to-face settings—into an online research tool. It emphasizes the increased relevance of such a transition in the wake of the digital shift and the Covid-19 pandemic. The work aims to reveal how digital collages can facilitate in-depth participant responses in a time when conventional research settings are inaccessible.Design/methodology/approachThe article incorporates autoethnographic vignettes, which are identified in italics, that offer insights into my personal reflections on the transition and adaptation to an online mode. Firstly, I review how collage can be a valuable tool to include in focus groups and for elicitation during semi-structured interviews. Secondly, I review the challenges I experienced when conducting focus groups online to create the collages. Thirdly, I explore, in more detail, three examples of collages that reflect the diverse ranges that were produced and the insightful discussions that emerged from the participants describing the visual elements of their collages. Finally, the reflective nature of my autoethnographic vignettes provides an insight into the world of the researcher during this turbulent time.FindingsFindings show that collage, whether physical or digital, remains an effective tool for eliciting nuanced understandings from participants. The research contributes to the arts-based research narrative by showcasing how the digital adaptation of collage methods can yield profound insights into participants' perspectives, therefore enriching the data beyond what traditional interviews could unveil.Originality/valueThese observations can provide support for other researchers who are contemplating the adoption of online arts-based research methods. Understanding how traditionally face-to-face arts-based research methods can be adapted for the digitally evolving landscape is important for shaping the future of online research.

The Blue Hills Archipelago: Longform poetics & the ecological anti-epic

This essay puts forth Laurie Duggan’s decades-long serial poem, Blue Hills (1980–), as a radical antimythic and ecological approach to longform ‘epic’ poetics – or what I term the ‘ecological anti-epic’. The essay first reflects on the mythic ambitions of twentieth century Anglo-American modernist epic poets, such as Ezra Pound and TS Eliot, before turning to what I call the North American ‘antiepic’ postmodernist serial poem tradition. Centring on Robert Duncan’s Passages – a key influence on Duggan’s own series – I argue this ‘anti-epic’ approach to the long poem replaced the ‘mythical method’ (Eliot 1923: 483) of early modernist epics with a compositional method. Reading Blue Hills through the guiding principle of Duncan’s series, ‘grand collage’ (2014: 298), the essay then posits that Blue Hills – as a localised re-deployment of Duncan’s grand collage method – can be read as both a continuation, and subversive settler Australian reimagination, of the North American anti-epic serial poem tradition. Drawing on Peter Minter’s archipelagic approach to reading Australian poetry, Blue Hills is then read as a type of archipelago of poetic islands, one which challenges not only the epiccum-mythic ambitions of modernist longform poetry, but also the racially charged environmental myth-conceptions of early settler Australian poetic movements, such as the Jindyworobaks. I conclude with a brief reflection on the links between the process-based aesthetics of post-modern anti-epics and what Connor Weightman calls the ‘ecological long poem’ (2020: 3), ultimately positing that Duggan’s Blue Hills refutes the modernist penchant for speaking declaratively about the world and instead affects a sense that the world is reveling in its own wording.

Depression (re)cycling: geotraumatic performance & other cosmic plot holes

ABSTRACT While biomedical paradigms may pathologize depression, there is much critical potential in disclosing the disposition as a more complex, material, and ecological entanglement. In this performance, I draw upon a method of collage to demonstrate how “plot holes” between critical autoethnography, visual art, poetry, and speculative theorizing help reflect my ecology of depression. Theoretically cohering the performance is geotrauma, which traces affective dispositions across deep time and space, rendering depression a condition of the cosmos. Centering Mathematics Pre-Service Teachers’ Whole Selves: A Collaborative Approach to Course Syllabus Design

In this participatory research, two pre-service teachers (PSTs) and a mathematics teacher educator (MTE) collaboratively analyzed multiple voices that influence syllabi from elementary mathematics teaching methods courses. Findings suggest syllabi fall along a continuum from harmonious to dissonant orchestration of the voices of past and present children, PSTs, MTEs, universities, and state policies. Formatting, stance makers, and content and wording influenced the kind of multivocality that addressivity, ventriloquation, and hybridization constituted. These findings informed our use of collage method to create a sample syllabus that centers the voices of PSTs and their future students. We discuss implications that intentional syllabus design decisions may have in humanizing these documents and fostering a relationship of mutuality and support between PSTs and MTEs.

The strategy applied in this service is a strategy that focuses on child learning given a collage project. ‘Is it me, or is it getting crazier out there?’: The psyche of the interior in Joker: An analysis of psychological space in Todd Phillips Joker (2019) through collage

Encounters with interior spaces are influenced by past experiences and state of mind. Much of how architecture is experienced therefore is not readily apparent and is sensed rather than seen. Psyche impacts this experience of lived space, from an individual’s awareness of themselves within it, to the perception of space itself. Film offers a distinctive representation of this subjective experience through its narrative form and command of visual, audio and temporal language. The emotive and visceral power of film render it an accessible and immersive medium, and as such make it uniquely placed to communicate less tangible qualities of space and character. This paper analyses the use of interior space in the film Joker (Todd Phillips, 2019). The acutely intimate discernment of the protagonist’s interior environment is the result of environmental and psychological disruption, where boundaries break down between the real and imaginary, and the surreal intrudes upon the tangible depiction of the interior. The exposition of the character’s damaged psyche within space is analysed at key points within the narrative, using collage as an exploratory, visual methodology to analyse and experiment with, to potentially reveal the less perceivable, yet invasive intangible layers of lived space. This article addresses the frequent oversight of psychological qualities of the interior in architectural discourse, through an analytical and experimental method rendering the psychological content of space visible. Defining this intangible nature of architecture as the psychosphere (or the psychological atmosphere), I term this technique the ‘psychospheric collage method’. The process consists of interrogating expressive film language and content through an architectural lens documented through sketching, storyboarding and textual enquiry. From these fragmented components I compose a new visual language capable of signifying the layered psychological atmosphere in which a character resides, thus facilitating its consideration within architectural design and enabling articulation of our intimate encounter with the interior.

Time in Organizational Space: The Perspective of Employees of a Cultural Organization Cultural institutions are exceptional spaces where time gains new meanings. By interacting with stakeholders, responding to the needs declared by potential recipients, and setting trends – they become active participants in the process of shaping and giving meaning to cultural heritage, of which one of the most important components is also time. Therefore, it turns out that employees of cultural institutions are responsible not only for managing themselves but for managing the processes taking place within an organization as well, moreover they are also obliged to closely observe the dynamically changing world. This text aims to diagnose and describe the importance of time – according to employees – in working in cultural institutions. To prepare the article, the author used the research conducted for the purposes of her thesis entitled Time management – aporia or utopia? In line with the adopted methodological strategy, the method of narrative collage was used, consisting of collecting fictional stories from employees of cultural organizations. The analysis of the obtained research material made it possible to diagnose the challenges faced by cultural institutions, related to, inter alia, inadequate financing, failure of taking into account the individual needs and expectations of employees and chaos in the working time organization.

Investigating the Position of Women in the Iranian Higher Education System

Background: The presence of women in the university environment has increased significantly in the last two decades. One of the important reasons for this is that the presence of women as half of the society can be effective in improving the quality and comprehensive development. Therefore, identifying the challenges of women in the higher education system is very important.
 Methods: In the present study, a qualitative research method of phenomenological type and feminist paradigm used. The sampling method was available, 12 female students and faculty members from Kurdistan University of Medical Sciences, Zahedan, and Tehran who attended the interview participated in the study. Semi-structured interviews used to collazeri information. In order to analyze, the collage method used to achieve the main themes.
 Results: The main issue in this research is to identify the problems that women face as a minimum gender in various fields in academic settings. According to the research results, the problems of women in the university environment: Challenges of cultural affairs, challenges of research, challenges of inequality in laws and regulations, challenges of structural affairs and management.
 Conclusion: According to the results of research on women in the higher education system, there are many restrictions and inequalities and changes should be made in the policies of the higher education system to improve the situation of women.

Reliability and Comparison of Sonographic Methods for In Vivo Measurement of Human Biceps Femoris Long-Head Architecture.

Biceps femoris long-head fascicle length ( Lf ), fascicle angle (FA), and muscle thickness (MT) estimates obtained across 2 d from extended field-of-view (EFOV) sonographic images were compared with those measured from a collage of single ultrasound images (to visualize entire fascicles) as well as a range of geometric equations and extrapolation methods used on single images. Both test validity and intraday reliability were determined. Twenty healthy adults (10 men and 10 women) were tested on two occasions (day 1 and day 2), 7 d apart at the same time of day for test-retest measurements. Ultrasound imaging was performed using EFOV and static image acquisition sequences; in the latter, four single images were acquired in-series along the muscle. From these images, Lf was assessed using seven methods: EFOV, collage, manual linear extrapolation, and four different trigonometric equations (termed equations A, B, C, and D), and FA and MT were measured in EFOV, collage, and single images. Lf , FA, and MT measured on days 1 and 2 were not different ( P > 0.05) for any method, reliabilities were very high (intraclass correlation coefficient, 0.91-0.98), and correlations were strong (≥0.84). Significant correlations ( P < 0.05; r = 0.67-0.98) were found between EFOV and the other measurement techniques for Lf , FA, and MT. The collage method had the highest reliability for Lf , and highest rank order and correlation with EFOV. Although the six different techniques used to estimate Lf provided values similar to EFOV, higher between-subject measurement variability was observed with trigonometric equations, and the collage method described herein provided the most accurate and reliable results and is therefore recommended for biceps femoris long-head architectural analysis when EFOV is not available.

ANIMATION DESIGN USING VIRTUAL REALITY MODELING AND FRACTAL MORPHING TECHNOLOGY

The fractal Iterated Function System (IFS) algorithm is studied to simulate swinging plants’ animation effect under natural conditions. First, the collage method and the IFS attractor parameter morphing method render the fractal plant. Second, the IFS attractor parameter morphing is added on this basis. Third, the swinging plant’s animation morphing is achieved by combining the physics and adjusting the morphing parameters. Finally, the effects of leaves transforming into trees and swinging in the wind are simulated. The simulation results verify the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm. Compared with traditional methods, it reduces the time required to render images and overcomes interactive control limitations. The ability of attractors with parameter variables to control images is very stable. Continuous adjustment of parameters can effectively solve image distortion caused by matrix decomposition during fractal morphing. The proposed algorithm provides some references for applying fractal morphing technology in animation design and computer graphics.

The article is devoted to the issue of studying Tan Dun’s music in light of the theory of performativity. By the example of the composer’s early composition Nine Songs the changes which have appeared in the genre of opera under the impact of live art performance as a new type of theatrical performance. The composition has designed artistic precepts which are also characteristic for other musical-theatrical oeuvres by the composer: specific work with the poetic text directed at destroying the linear logic of the subject and the cause and effect connections; vocalization based on connecting the techniques of the Italian operatic bel canto and the traditional Chinese qupai; a synthesis of music, an abstract poetic text and motions, gestures permeated with symbolism. The authors of the article come to the conclusion that the interpretation of the genre presented in Tan Dun’s Nine Songs goes far beyond the boundaries of academic traditions of representation of opera. In the poetic text of the libretto the composer deliberately dilutes the meanings encumbered in the primary source, which is achieved by means of infringement of the logic of narration, by accentuating the musicality in the sound of words detrimentally for their communicative function. In the dramaturgy, built with a reliance on the collage method and with an absence of a storyline narrative, the culminations and falls occur spontaneously. The music is endowed with suggestive traits indispensable for creation of an effect of emergence and together with the poetic text and the scenography does not call for conveying any concrete meanings. In this composition the role of the audience is interpreted specifically. The latter assumes the position of active participants of the events, rather than passive observers, and experience a liminal state, the departure from which is connected with an independent construction of the composition’s meanings.

Gifted people have multipotentiality, which means a very wide range of abilities and interests that not all will be really implemented. Thus, for gifted youth, personal values are the very reason for choosing a life and professional trajectory. Traditionally, personal values are examined using standardized methods, primarily questionnaires. In addition to these quantitative tools, qualitative methods have been developed to complement them. Proposed by S. Yan method of value collage is based on live experience and allows respondents to partially bypass conscious control and some protective mechanisms. Because of the rapid transition of education and psychological support for gifted youth to online, the author argues the possibility of applying S. Yan's collage method in a computer form and has developed the «Life Perspective» computer technique to examine a life trajectory. The method provides material for reflection on personal values and life perspective in the context of the past, present and future, personal achievements and failures. This reflection provides an opportunity, on the one hand, to understand an individual's personal values and, on the other hand, to plan a further life and professional trajectory. The «Life Perspective» technique is implemented as a desktop application developed in the Python programming language using the PyQt 5 graphical user interface library for the Windows OS. The application runs independently of the Internet. The interpretation of obtained images is based on Future Time Perspective (FTP) theory.

Acousmatic Orphism: Susan Howe

In this essay Joseph Donahue uncovers the Orphic ambitions of Susan Howe's 2010 volume of poetry, That This, especially as manifested in the poet's collaboration with the composer David Grubbs in the recording of a poem from that volume, ‘Frolic Architecture’. To account for the use of free-floating syllabic sound as an intensification of the Orphic concerns of the poem in the recording, the essay turns at first to the origin of acousmatic sound and its proposed relations to ancient mystery cults: composer and sound theorist Pierre Schaeffer claimed that to hear sound without seeing its source placed the listener in a position comparable to that of an initiate in the cult of Pythagoras. Drawing on Brian Kane's 2014 study of the origins of musique concrète (which incorporates recorded sounds) in the postwar period, Sound Unseen, this piece claims the acousmatic not only for Pythagoras but for Orpheus. It is argued that an Orphic poetics rooted in the acousmatic comes to full fruition in late Howe. Howe's own evocations of Pythagoras, and her own mythologising of the acousmatic, are examined, especially in regard to her collage method which so often and so momentously conceals or removes the visual origin of sounded syllables. The collaboration with composer David Grubbs intensifies the acousmatic poetics of Howe's text, and it is suggested, is the poem's ultimate realisation.

Identification of wind turbine main-shaft torsional loads from high-frequency SCADA (supervisory control and data acquisition) measurements using an inverse-problem approach

Abstract. To assess the structural health and remaining useful life of wind turbines within wind farms, the site-specific structural response and modal parameters of the primary structures are required. In this regard, a novel inverse-problem-based methodology is proposed here to identify the dynamic quantities of the drivetrain main shaft, i.e. torsional displacement and coupled stiffness. As a model-based approach, an inverse problem of a mathematical model concerning the coupled-shaft torsional dynamics with high-frequency SCADA (supervisory control and data acquisition) measurements as input is solved. It involves Tikhonov regularisation to minimise the measurement noise and irregularities on the shaft torsional displacement obtained from measured rotor and generator speed. Subsequently, the regularised torsional displacement along with necessary SCADA measurements is used as an input to the mathematical model, and a model-based system identification method called the collage method is employed to estimate the coupled torsional stiffness. It is also demonstrated that the estimated shaft torsional displacement and coupled stiffness can be used to identify the site-specific main-shaft torsional loads. It is shown that the torsional loads estimated by the proposed methodology is in good agreement with the aeroelastic simulations of the Vestas V52 wind turbine. Upon successful verification, the proposed methodology is applied to the V52 turbine to identify the site-specific main-shaft torsional loads and damage-equivalent load. Since the proposed methodology does not require a design basis or additional measurement sensors, it can be directly applied to wind turbines within a wind farm that possess high-frequency SCADA measurements.

Management of Teaching to ready and writing through art therapy in children

Conclusion is that the method ready writing is new proposed for teach to ready and writing. Children learn their first words in the first month, in addition to reading and writing habits.

Re-touched

Re-touched is a collaborative project by collage artist Sarah Eyre and fashion photographer Xanthe Hutchinson. Both artists share an interest in the female body, particularly the notion of pleasure in display and gaze between women and the body. The body of work that forms Re-touched combines photographic and collage methods in order to embody a sense of sensuality through the opening up and enfolding of the female form, on set and through the process of collage. The artists position their work within a framework of feminist theory that questions the binary thinking around the gaze. They draw on the writing of Laura U. Marks to bring a haptic quality to their photographic and collage interventions to the image, and in inviting the viewer to be touched by their images. Through this series of photographic collages, they have established a visual and tactile approach that utilizes the body, is collaborative and re-figures the power structures between model, photographer and viewer. Their images offer a way of rethinking and reshaping representations of the female nude.

The article explores the communication and mutual influence of botanists and artists who lived in Germany, Switzerland and Holland from the second half of the XVIth to the beginning of the XVIIth century. The choice of the areal and period of study is due to the active communication among scientists on the reform of scientific knowledge, in particular botany. The new demands of scientists, who expected artists to help them visualize the morphological features of plants, clashed with a painting tradition that changed slowly and gradually. Eventually, by the early the XVIIth century, an understanding was achieved. Botanical illustrations acquired its main artistic features: clarity of contour, minimum chiaroscuro and muted colour. At the same time, painters who worked in the genre of flower still life in Holland at the beginning of the XVIIth century were also significantly influenced by botanists. Several features appeared in the early Dutch still life: gathering of plants blooming in different months into one bouquet, collage method, composing a bouquet like a "table" of the Kunstkammer, uniform illumination, absence of space depth and crossing of objects, exotic, rare and expensive flowers, especially tulips.
