Study of the Belt Conveyor Design Platform in the Power Plant Based on the Multidisciplinary Collaborative

In order to solve the low speed of information transmission, inefficient design and long development cycle in the design process of the belt conveyor in the thermal power plants, a multidisciplinary collaborative design System of the belt conveyor is put forward. With the analysis of the information requirement, integrated information model is established with systems accepted by user’s requirements through the network transmission protocol. Project managers can discuss and develop plans through the structure of distributed-centralized. By the framework of information interaction and conflict resolution, professional design personnel can exchange their information and finish the design of the belt conveyor collaboratively.

Research on the Active Value-Added Services System Based on Grid Collaboration

In order to proactively provide value-added services for the electric vehicles, it proposes a three-tier grid-based collaborative design system framework. Dynamic and scalable wireless network based on grid collaboration can get mobile position of electric vehicles as well as exchange information among vehicles. Then it reduces the computational load on the backend server. By integrating power, transportation, municipal, and other areas of mass data meteorology, it can predict user needs based on characteristics of electric vehicles analytical model, and then provide users with real-time proactive value added services. This method avoids the presence of the GPS signal shielding and other shortcomings. The use of active value-added services better meets needs of customer.

The Investigate of Spinning Process Module by Textile Collaborative Design System

This paper was focused on the research of remote spinning process collaborative products development system based on Internet. The research was mainly to establish textile products and process designs, which could lead to the Processing Public Service Platform for the small and medium sized enterprises. The project is supported by the IMAR (Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region) Natural Science Foundation. In this study, the cotton spinning technology is taken as an example emphatically in the thesis. Related processing examples could be inquired by process designers, the process parameters could also be optimized while they select and call the process parameters from related main process of cotton spinning in spinning process parameters calculate system, and then the enterprise coalition cooperated to design product and process by use remote-data interview and synergism.

Network analysis of user generated content quality in Wikipedia

PurposeSocial media platforms allow near‐unfettered creation and exchange of user generated content (UGC). Drawing from network science, the purpose of this paper is to examine whether high and low quality UGC differ in their connectivity structures in Wikipedia (which consists of interconnected user generated articles).Design/methodology/approachUsing Featured Articles as a proxy for high quality, a network analysis was undertaken of the revision history of six different language Wikipedias, to offer a network‐centric explanation for the emergence of quality in UGC.FindingsThe network structure of interactions between articles and contributors plays an important role in the emergence of quality. Specifically the analysis reveals that high‐quality articles cluster in hubs that span structural holes.Research limitations/implicationsThe analysis does not capture the strength of interactions between articles and contributors. The implication of this limitation is that quality is viewed as a binary variable. Extensions to this research will relate strength of interactions to different levels of quality in UGC.Practical implicationsThe findings help harness the “wisdom of the crowds” effectively. Organisations should nurture users and articles at the structural hubs from an early stage. This can be done through appropriate design of collaborative knowledge systems and development of organisational policies to empower hubs.Originality/valueThe network centric perspective on quality in UGC and the use of a dynamic modelling tool are novel. The paper is of value to researchers in the area of social computing and to practitioners implementing and maintaining such platforms in organisations.

Design & Realization of Aided Design Function of Aided Construction and Management System for Integrated Pipe Network of Metro Station

In order to improve the quality of integrated pipe network design, reduced the illogical arrange and conflict in the blueprint of the integrated pipe network, and provided a zero conflict blueprint for pipe network construction. Based on the 3D information technologies, building aided design module of the metro station integrated pipe network aided construction and management system. Through the parameterized modeling technology, 2D information of the metro station transformed to 3D information model, realized the functions of property management, finding and modify conflict for 3D information modeling. Finally, the system was applied in Ningbo Metro Line 2, solved the problem of conflict in design, provided a collaborative design system for Design Institute.

Research on Large Bulk Carrier Hull Production Design Process Planning Based on Dynamic Stiffness Matrix Method

According to the shortcomings such as long cycle, large consumption in view of the traditional method of shipbuilding, introduce the method named collaborative design, build hull production design process model. First, decompose hull production design process, then introduce the method of DSM-matrix to describe hull production design task, build the hull production design process model, then based on the model, develop collaborative design system. And use the system to make the hull production design process more reasonable. At last successfully apply them to the collaborative design system. The results suggest that the hull production design method based on DSM-matrix can effectively shorten the manufacturing cycle and save material.

A Video Conferencing System for Collaborative Engineering Design

Collaborative engineering design based on distributed networks is an important way to increase the productivity of mechanical product design and to reduce the development cycles. This paper presents a novel method for the implementation of a collaborative engineering design. It is based on the integration of a video conferencing system and a CAD system. Issues about the general requirements and the architecture of the system are discussed. The paper also distinguishes three levels for design conflicts and provides specific solutions to them respectively.

Design and Implementation of Collaborative Editing System Based on Web

Collaborative editing is a very important part of Computer Supported Cooperative Work (CSCW). Nowadays, there are endless stream of relevant systems coming out, but most of which have certain limitations in practice and generality. This paper proposes a simple collaborative document editing system solution, introducing system design and technical implementation of the module in detail. By using CKEditor as a core module, a Web-based collaborative editing subsystem is designed and implemented. And this system has been integrated LAMOST Astronomical Spectrum Analysis Cyberlab (LASAC) as a subsystem and proved to be successful.

In the paper, the main research topic is product data exchange of each heterogeneous systems in the process of collaborative design and manufacturing under the condition of mass customization.Based on the research for existing technology of product model information sharing and conversion,put forward the solution to combine STEP with XML,completed product data transfer and exchange among web-based cooperation enterprises. Also,it was researched how to express EXPRESS data model to XML, as well as its application in the network environment, the function of converting STEP Part21 physical file to XML file was realized.

Revealing the Socio-Technical Context of Design Settings: Toward Participatory IS Design

This research proposes a participatory sociotechnical design approach to making explicit issues in collaborative information system design in a multidisciplinary context. The approach proposes the Socio-Technical Evaluation (STE) Matrix as a conceptual tool to address the lack of a technical and methodological instrument to expose cultural differences, boundaries, and conflicts in multidisciplinary research. STE Matrix was born within the context of the Village eScience for Life (VeSeL) project and adopts an empirical sociotechnical experimentation to initially explore the context of the stakeholders, including that of the end-users. These contexts are then revisited through information system design theories to rationalize the STE Matrix paradigm. Subsequent experiments and exposure to communities of practice provide validity to the approach by revealing the different frames of interpretation within the VeSeL project. Furthermore, STE Matrix provided a platform to truly observe participatory design by equally involving end-users and design partners in the subsequent phases of the VeSeL project.

Resources Scheduling System for Collaborative Design in Ontology and Multi-agents

A core issue of collaborative design is scheduling of design resources. In the collaborative design based on network, design resources often have some traits such as half-structured, distributed, isomerized and so on. Therefore, a kind of resources scheduling system based on the technology of ontology and the technology of multi-agents in collaborative design is proposed in this paper. The ontology models of design resources, and the algorithm of resources scheduling, and the function of each agent in system, and the flow of collaborative work among all agents are elaborated, and the software system of resources scheduling is studied and designed in this paper. The testing results show that the principle and method proposed in this paper are correct, and convenient in operation, and strong in practical application, and have high value in application and popularization. Cooperation and participation in online education: social presence in collective writing environments

Recent studies have shown that social presence is a central concept in online education. Interactions enhance social presence, which is characterised by the potential of participation, involvement and visibility of individuals in relation to themselves, to others and to the environment. The purpose of this qualitative study was to identify social presence in a collective writing environment, Wikispaces. The 3C model, which guides the design and implementation of collaborative systems, was used for analyses. Results showed that the awareness element of model 3C is fundamental for the identification of social presence in a collective space.

Research and Design of Ceramic E-Commerce Dual-Channel Collaborative Distribution System

With the rapid development of the network information technology and logistics processing technology, the information and services are changing the people’s lifestyle, and meanwhile, exerting an influence on the sales channel. Many manufacturers are developing the network sales channel actively and selling products through the traditional channel at the same time. If manufacturers set the network sales channels incorrectly, or implement the network direct distribution thoughtlessly, it will cause the distributors’ boycott in the traditional distribution channel. Based on the existing ceramic e-commerce platform, this paper tries to develop the real dual-channel collaborative distribution system for the ceramic manufacturers. Through the system, the traditional distributors can join the network distribution channel, and sell products with dual-channel: one is the physical store sales channel after the products are delivered from the manufacturer using online procurement and payment; the other is the non-inventory network sales channel after the customers order and pay, then the manufacturer delivers to the customer directly according to the distributor’s virtual online procurement. Through the system, the ceramic manufacturer can maintain the traditional distribution channel, broaden the network distribution channel and develop the network distributors only using the non-inventory network sales model, and realize the collaborative distribution management in the traditional and the network distribution channel.

The Design and Implementation of Collaborative Editing System Based on SaaS

In recent years, collaborative editing system that is an important application of Computer Supported Cooperative Work field has made a lot of progress. But most of the collaborative editing systems have the disadvantages about maintenance and huge investment etc. In order to solve these problems, this paper proposes a collaborative editing system based on SaaS(Software as a Service). The realization of the system includes the following aspects: (1) Introducing and analyzing SaaS cloud computing model; (2) Designing the message model and communication model of collaborative editing system; (3) Setting up the SaaS development environment; (4) Designing and realizing a collaborative editing system based on the SaaS model. The collaborative editing system based on SaaS can not only support the cross-platform operation, but also reduce development cost and it's convenient for the system maintenance and upgrade.

A framework for the study of external representations in collaborative design settings

The use of modeling, simulation and visualization techniques in scientific and technical domains has led to the co-existence of a large diversity of external representations that, when deployed in collaborative work settings, can be designated by the term “shared representations”. This contribution will focus on dyadic cognitive and triadic semiotic perspectives on the issue of interpretation and construction of shared representations. We propose a typology of external representations as a basis for further study of shared representations. As illustrated by examples from an existing corpus, the framework allows describing co-occurrence and superimpositions of different types, as well as transitions from one type to another. In the final section, we anticipate the exploitation of the framework in the light of the design of collaborative systems.
