Rabies is a disease of viral etiology that is fatal to mammals, including humans. With a mortality rate of almost 100% in humans and animals, rabies remains a global threat, killing approximately 59,000 people each year. In this regard, the goal of our study is to analyze the epizootic situation of animal rabies in the Saratov region for the period from 2019 to 2023, using cartography. Primary data on animal rabies for 2019-2022. were provided by the Veterinary Department of the Government of the Saratov Region. Statistical data processing and epidemiological analysis were carried out using Microsoft Ecxel 2016. Cartographic analysis was carried out using ArcGIS Desktop 10.4. For the period from January 2019 to December 2022, according to the Veterinary Department of the Government of the Saratov Region, 337 cases of rabies were registered among various species of animals. It has been established that, along with natural focal rabies (25.5% of cases), rabies infection manifests itself in the urban form (56.3% of cases) in the Saratov region. The main source and carrier of rabies infection in the Saratov region are dogs, cats, and foxes, which account for 86.8% of other animal species. Seasonal fluctuations in the incidence of rabies in animals depend on the time of year, with the prevalence of cases of the disease during the cold period (November-January). It was found that the largest number of rabies cases in 2022 were registered among dogs - 16 cases, among cats - 14 cases. Nine cases have been reported among wild animals. In the Saratov region in 2023, 31 cases of rabies infection in animals were registered. The structure of incidence by animal species is presented as follows: 13 cases are in cats, 9 cases are in dogs, 6 cases are in foxes, 3 cases are in cattle.
