Strategi Pengurus BAPQAH SIKA dalam Membina dan Meningkatkan Kualitas Qari Qariah dan Hafiz Hafizah di Sumatera Utara

This research aims to analyze the coaching strategies carried out by the management of the Qari Qariah and Hafiz Hafizah Development Agency (BAPQAH SIKA) North Sumatra in improving the quality of students. Through qualitative descriptive methods, this research examines a systematic approach which includes motivation, class distribution systems, teaching methods, and communication with stakeholders. Data collection was carried out through interviews, observation and documentation studies. The research results show that BAPQAH SIKA implements a comprehensive strategy by dividing classes based on individual abilities, special teaching methods for each field (qari, hafiz, calligraphy), and building a supporting ecosystem through the involvement of parents and the community. Despite facing various challenges such as limited infrastructure and resources, BAPQAH SIKA succeeded in producing outstanding graduates at various national and regional Musabaqah Tilawatil Qur'an (MTQ) events. This research provides theoretical and practical contributions in developing strategies for developing Al-Qur'an education at the regional level.

Psychological determinants of performance in women's football: a systematic review on resilience, anxiety, motivation and cohesion

Introduction: Over the past decade, women's football has gained significant visibility, leading to increased attention on the psychological factors that influence players' performance. Mental toughness is identified as a key trait that allows athletes to remain focused and resilient in high-pressure environments. Objective: This systematic review aims to analyze the psychological determinants of performance in young women's football, focusing on mental toughness, anxiety management, motivation, and team cohesion. Methodology: This review followed PRISMA guidelines and systematically searched four databases (PubMed, ProQuest, SCOPUS, FECYT) for articles published before October 1, 2024. The PICO framework was applied to define the research question, and data were extracted into an Excel spreadsheet, a total of 11 articles met all the inclusion criteria and were included in the final qualitative synthesis. Results: anxiety is explored in five studies, highlighting its physiological and psychological effects on performance and its predictors in elite athletes; resilience is examined in three studies, focusing on how young female athletes adapt to adversity to enhance performance and life skills; motivation is the subject of six studies, emphasizing intrinsic and extrinsic factors driving engagement, performance, and social influences in sports; and team cohesion is analyzed in two studies, illustrating its role in fostering better performance perceptions and group dynamics. Conclusions: Coaching strategies that foster a positive motivational climate and incorporate mental skills training can enhance psychological resilience, motivation, and performance outcomes.

A systematic review of pathophysiological and psychosocial measures in adaptive sports and their implications for coaching practice.

The pathophysiological and psychosocial factors influencing athletes with disabilities are crucial to their sports performance and well-being. This systematic review aims to provide evidence-based insights into how these factors should be adopted into coaching practice. The systematic review followed the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) guidelines. A comprehensive search of PubMed, Web of Science, SPORTDiscus, and Google Scholar was conducted, and studies were selected based on clear inclusion and exclusion criteria. Thirty-six studies met these criteria and were included in the thematic analysis. In the pathophysiological domain, effective coaching requires adaptive training programs tailored to address the specific physical and physiological challenges of athletes with disabilities. These strategies include injury prevention, performance optimization, and management of muscle imbalance and altered musculoskeletal biomechanics. The psychosocial domain emphasizes the importance of emotional support, resilience-building, and social inclusion, with coaches playing a key role in helping athletes navigate challenges such as social stigma, emotional stress, and reduced self-confidence. This review underscores the necessity of a comprehensive coaching approach that integrates both pathophysiological and psychosocial considerations, enabling coaches to address the complex needs of athletes with disabilities. Synthesized findings provide actionable recommendations for individualized coaching strategies. These insights have significant implications for advancing coaching practices and promoting inclusivity in sports environments for all athletes.

Principles and Practical Strategies for Psychologically-Informed Coaching of Young Players in Gaelic Games: Introducing Síceolaíochas in an Oiliúint Lúthchleasaíocht na nÓige sna Cluíchí na nGael 1 (SÍOL na nÓige)

The purpose of this article is to present proposed principles and actionable strategies for coaches to develop environments that facilitate positive sport experiences among young Gaelic games players. In doing so, we introduce six key principles, which together make up Síceolaíochas in an Oiliúint Lúthchleasaíocht na nÓige sna Cluíchí na nGael (SÍOL na nÓige). By applying principles and strategies within SÍOL na nÓige, we envisage that coaches of young Gaelic games players will be more equipped to create psychologically-informed playing environments that enhance the long-term participation, personal development, and wellbeing of players they work with.

Unlocking athlete potential: The evolution of coaching strategies through artificial intelligence

Artificial intelligence (AI) is rapidly transforming sports coaching, offering new tools to enhance athlete performance and training methods. However, the balance between leveraging AI’s capabilities and maintaining the human touch in coaching remains a critical challenge. This study investigates how AI can be effectively integrated into sports coaching while maintaining the essential human elements of leadership, mentorship, and personalized support. The research aims to provide a framework for combining AI technology with traditional coaching strategies to optimize performance. Using Grounded Theory (GT) methodology, the study conducted expert interviews and performed a detailed literature review to understand the interaction between AI and sports coaching. The resulting “Synergy Theory” model explains how AI can enhance training while highlighting the importance of maintaining ethical standards and human-centered coaching practices. The research reveals that AI can considerably improve performance analysis, injury prevention, and training customization. However, over-reliance on AI risks undermining the human aspects of coaching. The findings underscore the need for technological literacy among coaches and the ethical integration of AI in sports. Challenges such as data quality, resistance to technology, and privacy concerns must also be addressed. The present article is one of the first studies to comprehensively explore the ethical, practical, and technical considerations of integrating AI into sports coaching. This study also offers practical recommendations for balancing AI technology with traditional coaching methods.

Investigation of a Theoretical Model for the Rotational Shot Put Technique.

The biomechanics of the rotational shot put technique have been demonstrated. However, the causal relationships among kinematics and kinetics for achieving higher release velocity remain poorly understood. This study investigated these causal relationships among biomechanical variables for achieving a higher release velocity in the rotational shot put technique. The study included 22 male shot putters whose 3-dimensional motion was captured during official competitions. Key kinematic and kinetic variables throughout the shot put motion were calculated, as suggested by previous studies. Path analysis was used to explore a hierarchical model that postulates both direct and indirect effects among variables. The findings revealed that the impulse of the shot, system angular momentum, and system linear momentum were critical kinetic variables contributing directly to release velocity. Additionally, 8 kinematic variables significantly affected the impulse of the shot, including shoulder rotation, shot path length, and trunk tilt, while movements such as swings and extensions of the lower extremities were related to system momentum. This model not only provides a detailed understanding of the mechanics involved in the rotational technique but also informs technical coaching strategies in the shot put.

The Impact of Effective Coaching on Sales Performance Mediated by the Role of Soft Skills in the Tourism Industry

This research aimed to design a model for the role of effective coaching in achieving sales representatives' performance through soft skills for Iraqi tourism companies using quantitative and qualitative approaches. A questionnaire was designed to collect data to analyze the relationship between the research variables for (427) paragraphs that were randomly distributed to each tourism salesperson. To prove the model, five hypotheses were formulated where the effect and relationship were proven in all hypotheses using (SPSS, SMART PLS) programs. The results emphasize the importance of implementing strong coaching programs aimed at developing self-awareness, personal responsibility and personal skills among employees. Moreover, the study highlights the need for tourism service providers to comprehensively assess and develop personal skills alongside technical competencies during recruitment and performance management processes. It recommends providing value for the potential benefits of implementing coaching programs to support professional development and enhance the performance of front-line sales personnel. The results of this research can help in developing coaching strategies and coaching programs specifically designed to improve salesperson performance, and ultimately improve customer experience in the tourism services sector.

Mobile Application for Digital Health Coaching in the Self-Management of Older Adults with Multiple Chronic Conditions: A Development and Usability Study.

This study was conducted to develop a mobile application for digital health coaching to support self-management in older adults with multiple chronic conditions. Additionally, the usability of this application was evaluated. The HAHA2022 mobile application was developed through a multidisciplinary team approach, incorporating digital health coaching strategies targeting community-dwelling older adults with multiple chronic conditions. Usability was assessed with the Korean version of the Mobile Application Rating Scale. The usability tests involved eight expert panel members and 10 older adults (mean age, 74 ± 3 years; 90% women) from one senior welfare center. HAHA2022 is an Android-based mobile application that is also integrated into wearable devices to track physical activity. It features an age-friendly design and includes five main menus: Home, Action Plan, Education, Health Log, and Community. The average overall usability test scores-covering engagement, functionality, aesthetics, and information-were 4.27 of 5 for the expert panel and 4.53 of 5 for the older adults. The HAHA2022 application was developed to improve self-management among communitydwelling older adults with multiple chronic conditions. Usability tests indicate that the application is highly acceptable and feasible for use by this population. Consequently, HAHA2022 is anticipated to be widely implemented. Nonetheless, further research is required to confirm its effectiveness through digital health intervention.

Factors influencing the relationship between coaches and athletes with disabilities: a systematic review.

The relationship between coaches and athletes with disabilities is critical for enhancing athletes' performance and psychosocial well-being. This study aims to provide evidence-based recommendations for coaches, sports organizations, and policymakers dedicated to supporting athletes with disabilities. A comprehensive analysis of existing literature was conducted. Five databases were searched, including PubMed, Web of Science, SPORTDiscus, Google Scholar, and China National Knowledge Infrastructure. A total of 22 studies were included for thematic analysis. This systematic review identifies key factors influencing the coach-athlete relationship in disabled sports. These factors are categorized into three main domains: professional, interpersonal, and intrapersonal. In the professional domain, effective coaching requires sport-specific skills and adaptive techniques tailored to the unique needs of athletes with disabilities. Coaches must understand the technical and tactical aspects of each parasport and adapt training plans to optimize performance and foster independence. The interpersonal domain emphasizes communication strategies and team-building practices. Effective communication involves understanding athletes' needs and adapting approaches to maximize strengths. Building rapport, managing conflict, and fostering a supportive team environment are crucial for maintaining a positive coach-athlete relationship. The intrapersonal domain highlights the importance of self-reflection and continuous learning. Coaches who engage in self-reflection and professional development better understand their behaviors and biases, enabling them to tailor coaching strategies to the specific needs of athletes with disabilities. Continuous learning is essential for remaining responsive to the evolving needs of these athletes. This review underscores the importance of a holistic approach that integrates professional expertise, interpersonal skills, and intrapersonal awareness. By addressing these factors, it provides a foundation for developing more effective coaching strategies and supports for athletes with disabilities, ultimately enhancing their performance and well-being. Future research should explore cultural differences, the specific coaching needs of athletes with intellectual disabilities, and the impact of policies and structural barriers on the coach-athlete relationship in disabled sports.

Evaluating the feasibility and utility of telephonic motivational interviewing in older adults

Older adults face unique barriers and challenges related to physical activity (PA) participation. Motivational interviewing (MI) is a commonly used health coaching strategy to support behavior change that holds potential for older adults. Previous research on MI strategies has focused primarily on face-to-face delivery, limiting insights regarding virtual programs. ObjectivesThe purpose of this study was to determine if MI could be delivered telephonically with high fidelity and high acceptability in older adult participants. The study is designed to inform future trials evaluating its effectiveness in supporting virtual PA programs. MethodsThis study evaluated the feasibility and acceptability of telephonic MI among older adults that enrolled in an online version of the Walk with Ease program. ResultsOf 39 participants referred, 29 enrolled and 27 provided feedback. Participants were highly accepting and adherent, with 74 % of patients attending at least five of six sessions, and 96 % of participants indicating satisfaction with the MI provided. Coaches improved program enjoyment by helping set effective goals and providing ongoing accountability. ConclusionsEvaluations documented adequate fidelity and high acceptability of telephonic delivery, and motivation results revealed large, significant increases in autonomous regulation (quality of motivation). InnovationTelephonic MI using non-healthcare professional coaches is feasibly delivered with high fidelity, and is acceptable to older adult participants. The innovative delivery format offers novel opportunities supporting virtual and telehealth interventions to reduce chronic disease risk among older adults.

Insights into coaching effectiveness: Perspectives from coaches and players in South African Women's Rugby

Sports coaching involves navigating ambiguity and uncertainty in stakeholders’ perspectives and managing a dynamic micro-political environment. This study explores the relationship between coaching efficacy and effectiveness in South African Women's Rugby. It examines how a coach's belief in their ability to influence athlete learning and performance (coaching efficacy) correlates with the actual impact on athletes (coaching effectiveness). By aligning coaches’ perceived competence with tangible athlete outcomes, the study provides insights into factors influencing coaching practices and athlete development. The study involved 28 women players (mean age: 24.8 ± 4.0 years) and 8 coaches (mean age: 41 ± 3.8 years) who participated in semi-structured online interviews. The interview script, derived from the Coaching Effectiveness Survey (CES) tool, was analysed using Braun and Clarke's 6-step process of thematic content analysis. Under the four efficacy dimensions, sub-themes emerged as follow: 1) motivation (climate created by the coach and a motivational climate experienced by the players), 2) technique (coaching physical, technical, and tactical aspects of rugby), 3) game strategy (guiding players to successful outcomes), and 4) character-building efficacy (cultivating a positive environment for sportswomanship and holistic development). The findings incorporate feedback from players and coaches, highlighting firsthand experiences of coaching effectiveness. This approach enables experts to identify effective coaching strategies and those needing refinement within Women's Rugby. The study's findings promise to inform future coach development frameworks and foster a comprehensive understanding of coaching effectiveness in the dynamic landscape of Women's Rugby worldwide.

Strategic Formulation Analysis for Building Digital-based Training and Coaching Institutions in Indonesia

This research focuses on formulating strategies to support the digitalisation of MSME training and coaching institutions in Indonesia, a crucial sector that supports national economic growth. Through the use of survey methods and secondary data analysis, the research identifies key factors that influence digital adoption in these institutions and formulates effective strategies to overcome barriers. The results show that training and coaching that focus on the specific needs of MSMEs, as well as the integration of information technology, can improve the digital competence and operational effectiveness of MSMEs. A post-training coaching strategy, identified through QSPM as the more attractive option, is recommended to be implemented to optimise the growth potential of MSMEs in the digital era.

A Literature Review on Coaching Methods for Tutoring Students in Undergraduate Education

Recently, the integration of coaching methodologies within educational environments has garnered significant attention due to their potential to enhance student learning outcomes and overall academic performance. While the literature extensively examines the effectiveness of coaching in a plethora of scenarios (e.g., sports, business, and entrepreneurship), there remains a notable research gap regarding its application within undergraduate educational environments, where coachees have unique characteristics in terms of background, age/maturity, resources availability, and population size. This literature review aims to address this gap by synthesizing existing research on the implementation of coaching strategies in educational settings and how they can cope with a large number of students. Through a comprehensive analysis, this study elucidates the current state of knowledge, identifies prevailing methodologies, and evaluates the outcomes associated with employing coaching techniques in group contexts. Moreover, this work explores the potential benefits and challenges of utilizing coaching strategies in group sessions, offering insights into their scalability and applicability within diverse educational settings. The findings of this review underscore the importance of further research in this domain to advance our understanding of how coaching methodologies can be effectively adapted to facilitate collaborative learning experiences and promote student success on a broader scale. Ultimately, this study advocates for the integration of group coaching approaches as a promising avenue for enhancing the efficiency and accessibility of traditional tutoring and mentoring practices in education.

Research on Professional Tennis Performance Metrics Based on Random Forest and Analytic Hierarchy Process Algorithms

Understanding the dynamics of player performance in professional tennis, particularly how quantifiable metrics such as momentum influence match outcomes, is crucial for advancing sports analytics and enhancing coaching strategies. This study investigates performance metrics and momentum in professional tennis. The research introduced an innovative method of quantifying "momentum" in the sport, analyzing its impact alongside other performance indicators. We applied the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) to determine the relative importance of various performance factors, revealing technical skills as the predominant influence. The study employed Random Forest algorithms to model match outcomes, contrasting predictions with and without momentum as a variable. Our results significantly demonstrated that momentum plays a critical role in the dynamics of match outcomes, challenging the notion that player success sequences are merely random. The robustness of the Random Forest model was further validated through sensitivity analysis, highlighting its effectiveness as a predictive tool in sports analytics. This research not only enhances the understanding of player performance in tennis but also supports the incorporation of momentum in sports performance evaluations.

Perceived Benefits of Interdisciplinary Coaching Strategies for Professional Vocalists: A Pilot Study

ABSTRACT Professional vocalists, specifically teachers, are at increased risk of missing work and having vocal damage due to vocal misuse and overuse. The purpose of this pilot study was to examine the perceptions of participants (N = 4) taking part in interdisciplinary voice coaching sessions with both a singing and theatre voice specialist. Participant perceptions were obtained using the Voice Handicap Index (VHI), individual weekly journals, and a post-study researcher-created questionnaire. Results are discussed in terms of potential for future research and application of results to mutli-disciplinary voice training options for professional voice users as a solution to mitigate voice problems.

Navigating Transition: Developing an Instructional Coaching Rubric and UDL-Infused Training for Seasoned Reading and Dyslexia Teachers in Online Education

This research contributes not only to the practical knowledge of instructional coaching but also addresses the critical need for adapting teaching methodologies for educators specializing in reading and dyslexia. Through uncovering the dynamics of successful online education, this study aspires to establish a foundation for future endeavors instructional coaching and teaching training. Ultimately, it aims to foster an environment where seasoned educators can thrive amidst the evolving educational landscape, ensuring their continued efficacy and impact in the digital era.

Enhancing Teacher Performance in Madrasahs through Strategic Coaching Interventions

This study investigates the effectiveness of a coaching strategy in enhancing teacher performance at Madrasah Aliyah in Parepare. This type of research is quantitative descriptive research. The participants were all English teachers at Madrasah Aliyah in Parepare. The instrument in this study is a questionnaire, namely guide question coaching for teachers. The statistical procedures used include descriptive statistics for various items in the questionnaire calculated using SPSS (Statistical Product Services and Solutions). The research results found that analysis revealed that the predominant challenges faced by teachers included social competency issues (38%), professional competencies (28%), pedagogical challenges, and personal traits affecting student engagement (8%). The research found that the use of coaching strategy empowering the teacher’s performance at Madrasah by several indicator: 1) The question of coaching guide really explores the teachers’ competencies in knowing their self-strength (teachers); 2) The coaching guide question explore the teachers thinking competencies to realize and recognizing the teacher’s problem and redesigning step by step real action plan to move to the realization act; and 3) The coaching strategy bring the teachers into braveness to confidence to measure their progression in to the real number in percentage.

Adapting the National Diabetes Prevention Program: Learning from Lifestyle Coach strategies and adjustments during the COVID-19 pandemic in the United States

BackgroundThe National Diabetes Prevention Program (National DPP) is an evidence-based lifestyle intervention successfully disseminated across the United States. Some adaptations have been made to address real-world needs, including during the COVID-19 pandemic. This study aims to qualitatively describe adaptations Lifestyle Coaches made in response to the pandemic. MethodsBetween May and June 2021, Lifestyle Coaches (n = 300) from organizations across the United States answered open-ended survey questions about adjustments implemented during the pandemic. Survey responses were descriptively coded and codes were grouped into categories. ResultsNearly all coaches transitioned the format of their class from in-person to remote delivery (93.0 %; n = 279). Other commonly-reported strategies included adjusting contact with participants (48.0 %; n = 144), increasing support for participants (36.7 %; n = 110), and tailoring materials (28.3 %; n = 85). ConclusionsMaintaining these adaptations may address barriers to engagement in the National DPP and improve access to the program. Increased support for emotional symptoms and ensuring a patient-centered approach to care are particularly promising strategies.
