The glass samples with the composition xEu2O3-yDy2O3–15SiO2–20CaO–65P2O5 (x = 0.5, 1.0, 1.5; y = 0.5, 1.0, 1.5) have been prepared by the conventional melt quenching technique. XRD patterns showed that all glass samples were amorphous. Three kinds of excitation light (348 nm, 363 nm, and 394 nm) were selected to excite the glass material for luminescence study in visible range. White light and tunable light emission were observed for the glass sample under the 348 nm excitation wavelength, and we found the energy transfer from Eu to Dy ions. The color coordinates of 0.5Eu2O3-0.5Dy2O3–15SiO2–20CaO–65P2O5 glass sample (under 348 nm excitation) are x = 0.3329, y = 0.3351 (very close to pure white light in the CIE diagram), and the correlated color temperature (CCT) is about 5900 K. With the change of Eu and Dy content in the glass, its CIE coordinates could be located in white light, or blue, or orange/yellow region, therefore, the Eu3+, Dy3+ codoped phosphate glass will be used as a white light emitting material or as a tunable light material.
