The energy consumption challenge within the built environment is growing in urgency, underscoring an imperative for climate-responsive design solutions. This paper presents an in-depth analysis of the climatic characteristics of 12 U.S. cities, with a parametric platform, categorized under different Köppen climate classifications, with the aim of informing effective passive design strategies. Upon meticulously assessing the efficacy of various passive strategies tailored to distinct climate zones, this paper distills actionable guidance for deploying architectural methods that embody climate-responsive design principles. Theoretical models are developed to correlate climatic variables with specific passive design interventions. The research contributes to the theoretical discourse on passive design by advocation for a data-driven, climate-responsive design guidance that aligns with contemporary sustainability goals.
