ОСОБЕННОСТИ ПОСТРОЕНИЯ WEB-ПРИЛОЖЕНИЙ ИНФОРМАЦИОННОГО ОБЕСПЕЧЕНИЯ СИСТЕМ АВТОМАТИЧЕСКОГО УПРАВЛЕНИЯ

The article focuses on development telecommunication functions providing remote control of technological processes, their visualizing, and executive mechanisms of different processing facilities (e.g. executive mechanisms of a small-size dryer created in Murmansk State Technical University in order to smoke and dry fish). The solution of the problem became possible due to the web application developed according to ASP (Active Server Pages) technology and used on top the web-server controlled by IIS (Internet Information Services), Microsoft. The advantage of the web-application is that it allows logging onto the automated control system irrespective of a small-size dryer location (i.e. working place is mobile), and technological process control is possible from any mobile platforms and operational systems. Due to using MS SQL Server Express it became possible to organize nonstop data exchange between automatic system of the small dryer and the end user (simultaneous work of several users is possible). The article presents the scheme of the user and web-application interface. Class of the project safety (III) has been determined, as well as corresponding basic protection measures, which provide implementing the user identification and authentication systems, antivirus and network intrusion systems. Project costs proved to be lower than the cost of software TRACE MODE Data Center (35.000 rubles instead of 58.000 rubles), which is found a truly sustainable solutions to realize a remote access to the automation facility. A growing number of users doesn’t affect the final cost of the project.

Evaluation of an active learning module to teach hazard and risk in Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) classes.

The terms hazard and risk are significant building blocks for the organization of risk-based food safety plans. Unfortunately, these terms are not clear for some personnel working in food manufacturing facilities. In addition, there are few examples of active learning modules for teaching adult participants the principles of hazard analysis and critical control points (HACCP). In this study, we evaluated the effectiveness of an active learning module to teach hazard and risk to participants of HACCP classes provided by the University of Vermont Extension in 2015 and 2016. This interactive module is comprised of a questionnaire; group playing of a dice game that we have previously introduced in the teaching of HACCP; the discussion of the terms hazard and risk; and a self-assessment questionnaire to evaluate the teaching of hazard and risk. From 71 adult participants that completed this module, 40 participants (56%) provided the most appropriate definition of hazard, 19 participants (27%) provided the most appropriate definition of risk, 14 participants (20%) provided the most appropriate definitions of both hazard and risk, and 23 participants (32%) did not provide an appropriate definition for hazard or risk. Self-assessment data showed an improvement in the understanding of these terms (P < 0.05). Thirty participants (42%) stated that the most valuable thing they learned with this interactive module was the difference between hazard and risk, and 40 participants (65%) responded that they did not attend similar presentations in the past. The fact that less than one third of the participants answered properly to the definitions of hazard and risk at baseline is not surprising. However, these results highlight the need for the incorporation of modules to discuss these important food safety terms and include more active learning modules to teach food safety classes. This study suggests that active learning helps food personnel better understand important food safety terms that serve as building blocks for the understanding of more complex food safety topics.

Comparing the performance of TRIGRS and TiVaSS in spatial and temporal prediction of rainfall-induced shallow landslides

This study compares the performance of transient rainfall infiltration and grid-based regional slope stability (TRIGRS) model and time-variant slope stability (TiVaSS) model in the prediction of rainfall-induced shallow landslides. TRIGRS employs one-dimensional (1-D) subsurface flow to simulate the infiltration rate, whereas a three-dimensional (3-D) model is utilized in TiVaSS. The former has been widely used in landslide modeling, while the latter was developed only recently. Both programs are used for the spatiotemporal prediction of shallow landslides caused by rainfall. This study uses the July 2011 landslide event that occurred in Mt. Umyeon, Seoul, Korea, for validation. The performance of the two programs is evaluated by comparison with data of the actual landslides in both location and timing by using a landslide ratio for each factor of safety class ( $${\text{LR}}_{\text{class}}$$ index), which was developed for addressing point-like landslide locations. Moreover, the influence of surface flow on landslide initiation is assessed. The results show that the shallow landslides predicted by the two models are highly consistent with those of the observed sliding sites, although the performance of TiVaSS is slightly better. Overland flow affects the buildup of the pressure head and reduces the slope stability, although this influence was not significant in this case. A slight increase in the predicted unstable area from 19.30 to 19.93% was recorded when the overland flow was considered. It is concluded that both models are suitable for application in the study area. However, although it is a well-established model requiring less input data and shorter run times, TRIGRS produces less accurate results.

Power plant ash and slag waste management technological direction when Kansk-Achinsk brown coal is burned

Today resource efficiency technology development in all industries where conventional raw material is being replaced by local natural resources and industrial waste is an essential matter. Along with that most producing operations are overload with wide range of waste produced during technological process. Thermal power stations are real world evidence. Their main waste is ash and slag which accumulated in great amounts in often overfull ash dumps. The goal of present work is to find perspective ash dump waste utilization methods. The study will be based on experimentally obtained data: elementary compound and properties of Kansk-Achinsk brown coal. Research methods: experimental, chemical silicate analysis, mineralogical forms identification within samples by using ASM X-ray diffraction analysis. Experiments resulted with the following conclusions: silica is ash main component, and ash has the form of ore concentrate analogy in a number of elements. We think that ASM main properties which make it useful for utilization are: high content of calcium oxide; high ash sorption properties; ASM radiation safety class which makes them safe to be used in materials, goods, and structures production for residence and public buildings construction and reconstruction; sufficiently high content of individual elements.

Exploring Florida residents’ food safety knowledge and behaviors: A generational comparison

This study sought to determine if there were generational differences in Florida residents’ food safety knowledge and food safety behaviors. A total of 510 Florida residents responded to an online survey and represented five generational categories. A significant association was found between food safety behaviors and generations for disinfecting counters before preparing food; separating raw meat, poultry, and seafood from ready-to-eat products; defrosting frozen foods in the refrigerator or microwave; and looking for expiration dates on food before eating. Millennials or younger, Generation X, and Old Baby Boomers indicated they learned the most about food safety from their parents, while Young Baby Boomers and the Silent Generation and older reported learning the most from television. The Millennials or younger generation were identified as having the least amount of food safety knowledge, but all generations appeared to have gaps in food safety knowledge. Recommendations included non-formal and formal food safety education for all generations, especially those generations raising children. Researchers also recommended tailoring educational efforts to each generations’ preferred method of learning about food safety. Future research should determine the influence of non-formal and formal food safety classes and how individuals’ perceived control over foodborne illnesses affects food safety behaviors.

2015 Estimation of Hospitals Safety from Disasters in I.R.Iran: The Results from the Assessment of 421 Hospitals.

Background and ObjectiveIran’s health system has developed a Farsi edition of the Hospital Safety Index (HSI) and has integrated the related assessment program into the health information system. This article presents the results of the 2015 estimation of hospital safety from disasters in I.R.Iran using HSI.MethodsWe analyzed data from 421 hospitals that had submitted a complete HSI assessment form on the Ministry of Health and Medical Education Portal System. Data collection was based on the self-assessments of the hospital disaster committees. HSI includes 145 items categorized in three components including, structural, non-structural and functional capacity. For each item, safety status was categorized into three levels: not safe (0), average safety (1) and high safety (2). A normalized scoring scheme on a 100-point scale was developed. Hospitals were classified to three safety classes according to their normalized total score: low (≤34.0), average (34.01–66.0) and high (>66.0).ResultsThe average score of all safety components were 43.0 out of 100 (± 11.0). Eighty-two hospitals (19.4%) were classified as not safe, and 339 hospitals (80.6%) were classified in the average safety category. No hospital was placed in the high safety category. Average safety scores were 41.0, 47.0, and 42.0 for functional capacity, non-structural safety, and structural safety respectively. The average safety score increased between 2012 and 2015, from 34.0 to 43.0.ConclusionsHospital safety in the event of disasters has improved in Iran in recent years and more hospitals have joined the HSI program. This is a result of continuous efforts invested in capacity building programs and promotion of the 2012 HSI estimation. The HSI should be maintained to monitor the progress of Iran’s health system in regards to hospital safety in the case of disasters. It is recommended that WHO continue advocacy of HSI, establish a HSI monitoring system, and add it to country profiles on WHO website.

MO‐DE‐BRA‐04: Hands‐On Fluoroscopy Safety Training with Real‐Time Patient and Staff Dosimetry

Purpose:Fluoroscopically guided interventions (FGI) are routinely performed across many different hospital departments. However, many involved staff members have minimal training regarding safe and optimal use of fluoroscopy systems. We developed and taught a hands‐on fluoroscopy safety class incorporating real‐time patient and staff dosimetry in order to promote safer and more optimal use of fluoroscopy during FGI.Methods:The hands‐on fluoroscopy safety class is taught in an FGI suite, unique to each department. A patient equivalent phantom is set on the patient table with an ion chamber positioned at the x‐ray beam entrance to the phantom. This provides a surrogate measure of patient entrance dose. Multiple solid state dosimeters (RaySafe i2 dosimetry systemTM) are deployed at different distances from the phantom (0.1, 1, 3 meters), which provide surrogate measures of staff dose. Instructors direct participating clinical staff to operate the fluoroscopy system as they view live fluoroscopic images, patient entrance dose, and staff doses in real‐time. During class, instructors work with clinical staff to investigate how patient entrance dose, staff doses, and image quality are affected by different parameters, including pulse rate, magnification, collimation, beam angulation, imaging mode, system geometry, distance, and shielding.Results:Real‐time dose visualization enables clinical staff to directly see and learn how to optimize their use of their own fluoroscopy system to minimize patient and staff dose, yet maintain sufficient image quality for FGI. As a direct result of the class, multiple hospital departments have implemented changes to their imaging protocols, including reduction of the default fluoroscopy pulse rate and increased use of collimation and lower dose fluoroscopy modes.Conclusion:Hands‐on fluoroscopy safety training substantially benefits from real‐time patient and staff dosimetry incorporated into the class. Real‐time dose display helps clinical staff visualize, internalize, and ultimately utilize the safety techniques learned during the training.RaySafe/Unfors/Fluke lent us a portable version of their RaySafe i2 Dosimetry System for 6 months.

Considered have been possible variants of emergencies, which may arise while working in BSC with pathogenic microorganisms. Put forward have been the algorithms for localization and control of the incident when working in BSC Safety Class II without spills; with spills within the working chamber; with spills and release of infectious material beyond the BSC working chamber; and incidents with compromised personal protection equipment.

Safety enhancement of oil trunk pipeline crossing active faults on Sakhalin Island

The article explores the issues concerning safety enhancement of pipeline active fault crossing on Sakhalin Island. Based on the complexity and analysis results, all the faults crossed by pipeline system are classified into five categories - from very simple faults to extremely complex ones. The pipeline fault crossing design is developed in accordance with the fault category. To enhance pipeline safety at fault crossing, a set of methods should be applied: use of pipes of different safety classes and special trench design in accordance with soil permeability characteristics.

A study on residual stress mitigation of the HDPE pipe for various annealing conditions

This paper presents effects of the annealing condition variables such as temperature and time on the residual stress mitigation. The effects were investigated by using the various measurement methods such as hole-drilling method and slitting method. As a result of the investigation, the residual stress mitigation magnitude increases with increasing the annealing time and temperature. Based on the investigation results, the quantitative correlations between the annealing variables and the residual stress mitigation were derived. Finally, the effect of long-term operation under the normal operating temperature conditions on the residual stress mitigation was investigated by referring to the derived equations and performing some additional tests, and it is identified that the residual stresses are not significantly relaxed over the design lifetime of the safety class III buried HDPE pipes.

Strain-based plastic instability acceptance criteria for ferritic steel safety class 1 nuclear components under level D service loads

This paper proposes strain-based acceptance criteria for assessing plastic instability of the safety class 1 nuclear components made of ferritic steel during level D service loads. The strain-based criteria were proposed with two approaches: (1) a section average approach and (2) a critical location approach. Both approaches were based on the damage initiation point corresponding to the maximum load-carrying capability point instead of the fracture point via tensile tests and finite element analysis (FEA) for the notched specimen under uni-axial tensile loading. The two proposed criteria were reviewed from the viewpoint of design practice and philosophy to select a more appropriate criterion. As a result of the review, it was found that the section average approach is more appropriate than the critical location approach from the viewpoint of design practice and philosophy. Finally, the criterion based on the section average approach was applied to a simplified reactor pressure vessel (RPV) outlet nozzle subject to SSE loads. The application shows that the strain-based acceptance criteria can consider cumulative damages caused by the sequential loads unlike the stress-based acceptance criteria and can reduce the overconservatism of the stress-based acceptance criteria, which often occurs for level D service loads.

The Value of NATO Option for a New Member

The paper introduces a welfarist approach to the national safety of a nation with membership in a defense alliance as an option. The members are risk averse but heterogeneous in their safety classification. There are two public goods as insurance devices, the domestic military budget and the incremental safety provided by the membership in the alliance. The commitment of the alliance in the creation of safety is, however, imperfect. A sufficient condition is stated for the non-membership. Under a positive option value of the membership, several adverse incentive effects shaping the option value are identified, including the incentive to free ride in domestic defense investment and a moral hazard effect in terms of national commitment to the defense effort. The cost of participation is determined in the spirit of the median voter theorem. The alliance equilibrium is shown to be of two potential types, a stable alliance equilibrium with a positive mass and or a degenerate one with one member only. The driving force in the adjustment of the alliance is its size relative to the safety class of the median voter. Expectations of the decision making of the co-members concerning the commitment can result in multiple equilibria.

High-density polyethylene (HDPE) piping, which has recently been applied to safety class III piping in nuclear power plants, can be butt-joined through the thermal fusion process, which heats two fused surfaces and then subject to axial pressure. The thermal fusion process generates bead shapes on the butt fusion. The stress concentrations caused by the bead shapes may reduce the fatigue lifetime. Thus, investigating the effect of the thermal butt fusion beads on fatigue behavior is necessary. This study examined the fatigue behavior of thermal butt fusion via a tensile fatigue test under stress-controlled conditions using finite element elastic stress analysis. Based on the results, the presence of thermal butt fusion beads was confirmed to reduce the fatigue lifetime in the low-cycle fatigue region while having a negligible effect in the medium- and high-cycle fatigue regions.

Testbench Implementation for FPGA based Nuclear Safety Class System using OVM

A safety class field programmable gate array based system in nuclear power plant has been developed to improve the diversity. Testbench is necessary to satisfy the technical reference, IEC-62566, for verification and validation of register transfer level code. We use the open verification methodology(OVM) developed by standard body. We show that our testbench can use random input for test. And also we show that reusability of block level testbench for the integration level testbench, which is very efficient for large scale system like nuclear reactor protection system.

Their efficiency is determined by the association of Angiotensin II type 1 receptor. Candesartan and azilsartan are themost powerful and approved angiotensin receptor blockers. Candesartan in comparison with azilsartan has wide proposed spectrum of clinical use. Azilsartan is indicated for the treatment of arterial hypertension. In terms of efficiency and safety we showed these sartans.

FUNCTIONAL VERIFICATION OF A SAFETY CLASS CONTROLLER FOR NPPS USING A UVM REGISTER MODEL

A highly reliable safety class controller for NPPs (Nuclear Power Plants) is mandatory as even a minor malfunction can lead to disastrous consequences for people, the environment or the facility. In order to enhance the reliability of a safety class digital controller for NPPs, we employed a diversity approach, in which a PLC-type controller and a PLD-type controller are to be operated in parallel. We built and used structured testbenches based on the classes supported by UVM for functional verification of the PLD-type controller designed for NPPs. We incorporated a UVM register model into the testbenches in order to increase the controllability and the observability of the DUT(Device Under Test). With the increased testability, we could easily verify the datapaths between I/O ports and the register sets of the DUT, otherwise we had to perform black box tests for the datapaths, which is very cumbersome and time consuming. We were also able to perform constrained random verification very easily and systematically. From the study, we confirmed the various advantages of using the UVM register model in verification such as scalability, reusability and interoperability, and set some design guidelines for verification of the NPP controllers.

Application of Support Vector Machine Model in Mine Gas Safety Level Prediction

For the limitation of traditional information fusion technology in the mine gas safety class predicition, an intelligent algorithm is proposed in which Genetic Algorithms is adopted to optimize the parameters of the least squares support vector machine and establishes a multi-sensor information fusion model GA-LSSVM which overcomes the subjectivity and blindness on parameters selection, and thus improves its classification accuracy and convergence speed. Experimental results show that compared to the least squares support vector machine model not been optimized and the least squares support vector machine model optimized by the grid searching algorithm, GA-LSSVM model can be a good solution on the issue of the high-dimensional, nonlinear and uncertainty of the small sample in coal mine underground environment level evaluation.
