John Henry Quinsenberry was born in Gainesville, Texas on June 25, 1907. He died on January 19, 1980, in a Houston, Texas hospital at the age of 72. Funeral services were held in the First Baptist Church, Bryan, Texas with interment in the College Station City Cemetery. He is survived by his wife Pearl Clara Quisenberry, who resides at 1006 Puryear Drive, College Station, Texas 77840; a son Alex Quisenberry of Portland, Texas; a daughter Judy Quisenberry Terry of Richardson, Texas; eight grandchildren; two sisters; and one brother.The Quisenberry family moved to Quanah, Texas in 1909 where John attended public school. An honor graduate, he received his B.S. degree in animal husbandry in 1931 from the A&M College of Texas. That same year, he entered the University of Illinois Graduate College, where he received his M.S. (1933) and Ph.D. (1937) degrees in animal genetics and animal genetics and nutrition, .
