The results regarding the behavioral tendencies of the Cinderella complex often view themselves as someone who has deficiencies both mentally, physically and intelligently, making it difficult to be productive. Women who experience the Cinderella complex want help from someone, especially men as a supporter, as well as the presence of men. Men can entertain when women are unable and can be an economic resource in the future.

Strategies For Overcoming Cinderella Complex Syndrome In Adolescent Girls

The Cinderella Complex syndrome is a phenomenon that affects adolescent girls in contemporary society. This study aims to explore strategies to overcome this syndrome through psychoeducation. The research method used is a qualitative approach with thematic analysis. Data were collected through interviews and observations of female millennial students. The results show that factors such as 1) having a boyfriend, 2) receiving male attention, 3) depending on and being influenced by others, 4) lack of confidence in their abilities, 5) desire to marry young, 6) having fears that can inhibit success, 7) lack of independence, 8) received parenting styles influence the Cinderella Complex syndrome in adolescent girls. The implications of this research are the need for psychological interventions, such as psychoeducation, to help adolescent girls overcome their fear of independence and develop self-confidence. Hopefully, these findings will contribute to understanding and addressing the Cinderella Complex syndrome in adolescent girls in contemporary society.

Kecenderungan Cinderella Complex: Analisis Korelasional Pola Asuh dan Konsep Diri pada Santriwati

Abstract The Cinderella Complex is largely defined as a network of repressed attitudes and worries that, like Cinderella, stop women from using their minds and creativity to the fullest. The occurrence of Cinderella Complex in individuals can be influenced by several factors, namely: parenting style and self-concept. The population in this study were all students at the Tri Bakti Al Ikhlas Islamic Boarding School, totaling 97 people. This research aims to empirically prove the relationship between parenting patterns and self-concept with the tendency to have a Cinderella complex in female students at the Tri Bakti Al Ikhlas Islamic Boarding School. The data used is primary data with data collection techniques using questionnaires. The analytical method in this research is correlation analysis and multiple linear regression. The analytical tool used in this research is the SPSS Version 20 program. The results of this research prove that permissive parenting and self-concept have a positive and very strong relationship with the tendency to have a Cinderella complex in female students. The contribution of the influence of the independent variables (permissive parenting style and self-concept) to the dependent variable (Cinderella complex) was 86.8%, while the remaining 13.2% was influenced or explained by other factors not included in this model.Keywords: Cinderella Complex, Foster Pattern, Self Conception.

The Cinderella Complex on Psychology Students of Nusa Cendana University Kupang

Cinderella complex occurs because of the powerlessness in women caused by a lack of independence. Cinderella complex women who are in a relationship will do anything to their partner as long as they always together even though often experience violence both physically and verbally, women still do not want to be separated from their partner because they are very dependent on and need him and even consider as someone who will help her to live a better life. The aims of this study are to know tends and dominant factor of Cinderella complex at sixth semester of Psychology Study Program students, Public Health Faculty, Undana. It is a quantitative descriptive study. This study’s respondent are 123 students aged 20-23 years old. The results are students’ tendency to Cinderella complex is on medium level (89,43%), 21 years old and class A and C students tend to Cinderella complex is on high level. Self-infused submissiveness is the most dominant factor on Cinderella complex.

The Reflection of Cinderella Complex on Women in Kenanga Novel by Oka Rusmini

The research aims to examine the Cinderella Complex in Kenanga novel by Oka Rusmini. The approach used in this research was feminist literary criticism and women's psychoanalysis approach. The data collection technique used in this research was the reading-note technique. The data validity in this study was verified in two ways: (1) reading in depth and repeatedly and (2) reviewing by colleagues and the supervisor. The results of the study are as follows. First, the forms of the Cinderella Complex experienced by the female characters in Kenanga's novel are the fear of independence, the fear of dependency, and the fear of success. Second, the causes of the Cinderella Complex's emergence in female characters in the novel are parenting, maturity of personality, and negative self-concept.

The Representation of Women’s Dependence on Men in Little Women

This study aims to describe the representation of women’s dependence on men in Little Women. The descriptive qualitative approach was applied in this research. The data for this study were gathered from the talks of the characters in the novel’s Little Women. The data of this research are collected from Cinderella Complex syndrome through their actions and words. The research results showed the level to which characters are affected by the Cinderella Complex varies depending on how the Cinderella Complex influences their thoughts and behavior, either consciously or unconsciously. Meg's most dominant Cinderella Complex is Fear of losing femininity, and the most dominant factor is self-concept. Jo’s character showed only rely on man as the aspect and persona maturity as the factor. Meg and Jo were unconsciously reflected by Cinderella Complex syndrome.

CINDERELLA COMPLEX ON MILLENNIAL STUDENTS

Women and men have differences, in a biological perspective, psychological and social perspectives. Social perspective, women are educated to be gentle and shows the feminine side, while men are educated to be masculine. Students who are known for being confident and having an out of the mind box in fact, especially female students have fear and psychological dependence, as well as a desire to be protected known as the Cinderella complex. Cinderella complex is fear women are not aware of the independence and success that causes herself to have a tendency to be protected by others especially men. This study aims to examine the Cinderella complex in college students millennial women. This study uses a qualitative research method with a case study. Data collection is done through semistructured interviews to 3 primary informants and 3 secondary informants credibility of using triangulation of sources. Data analysis using interactive model data analysis. The findings of this study are that the three female students unconsciously experiencing cinderella complex syndrome shown with social behavior, namely, happy to receive attention from many men, have a tendency to depend on and be influenced by others, communication is not assertive, not confident in their abilities and rely on luck in determining the success factor. The factors of these behavior are parenting factors, personal maturity, and selfconcept influenced by parenting factors, personal maturity and self-concept.

How Does Ocha Attend Her Lectures? Lessons Learnt From an Adult Learner With a Cinderella Complex

This study investigates an undergraduate student with her Cinderella complex. Observation and videotape were undertaken from her agentive interactions and lectures as a single case study with the iterative and unstructured model analysis. The findings showed Ocha’s high motivation during attending her speaking classes, although her pronunciation, fluency, grammar, and vocabulary were still unsatisfactory. Ocha’s behaviors looked different from others regarding her lack of interactions with others, ignorance, introversion, egocentrics, dependence, and reticence.

The Relationship Between Self-Concept and Cinderella Complex in Grade 11 Students in Vocational High School

This research is motivated by the existence of the Cinderella complex phenomenon which often occurs in students of SMK X. This study aims to determine the relationship between self-concept and Cinderella complex in XI grade students of SMK X. This type of research used in this research is a quantitative method with a correlational approach. The variables contained in this study were self-concept as an independent variable and the Cinderella complex variable as the dependent variable. The population in this study was 380 students. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling technique. Retrieval of data using a Likert scale model, namely a self-concept scale with a reliability value of 0,797 and a Cinderella complex scale with a reliability value of 0,856. Retrieving data using a Likert scale model, namely the self-concept scale and the Cinderella complex scale. The analysis in this study obtained a correlation coefficient (rxy) of -0.630 with a significance value of 0.000 <0.05. It can be concluded that the hypothesis that has been proposed in this study is accepted, namely that there is a negative relationship between self-concept and Cinderella complex, which means that the higher the self-concept, the lower the Cinderella complex in class XI students of SMK X. Likewise, the lower the self-concept, the higher the Cinderella complex in class XI SMK X.

This research aims to find out the forms of the patriarchal crisis and the factors that lead to the emergence of the patriarchal problem represented in the novel "Nisyan" by Ahlam Mosteghanemi from the perspective of the feminist theory of Julia Kristeva. The research was qualitative and descriptive. The data sources used for this research are the primary data source in the form of the novel "Nisyan" by Ahlam Mosteghanemi. The secondary source is the supporting books and journals related to the research topic. The method of data collection is reading, translation and writing. The data analysis method uses simulated criticism, that is, by examining the data and then interpreting the narrative representations and facts in the community based on the perspective of Julia Kristeva and concluding. The results of this research are 1. They were classifying the forms of the patriarchal crisis on the body of a mother and an imaginary father. The forms of patriarchal problems categorized in the mother's body are stereotypes, marginalization, sexual harassment, and violence. The forms classified in an imaginary father are Cinderella complex, Oedipus complex, multiple burdens, and the stigma of divorce. 2. The factors that lead to the emergence of the patriarchal crisis are classified in the maternal's body and the imaginary father. Depending on the maternal's body, the patriarchal crisis arises from factors of abjection failure, virginity, reproductive impairment, and body image. Then from the imaginary father, the patriarchal crisis arises from the factors of fixation, lovesick, tomboy, and baby blues

Persepsi pola asuh permisif terhadap kecenderungan cinderella complex pada mahasiswi rantau di Fakultas Psikologi Universitas Merdeka Malang

Cinderella complex makes individuals lose their optimal abilities, which can affect their role as overseas female students. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of permissive parenting perceptions with Cinderella Complex in overseas female students at the Faculty of Psychology, University of Merdeka Malang. This research is a correlational quantitative research. The population were overseas female students from the Faculty of Psychology, University of Merdeka Malang in the odd semester of 2020-2021 (n = 104). The instruments used were the Cinderella Complex Scale (reliability = 0.788) and the Permissive Parenting Perception Scale (reliability = 0.899). Data analysis using simple linear regression correlation. Data analysis showed that there was a relationship between permissive parenting perceptions and the cinderella complex, with a positive relationship. The effect permissive parenting perceptions on cinderella complex in overseas female students at the Faculty of Psychology, University of Merdeka Malang was 15.8%. The relationship between permissive parenting perceptions with the tendency of Cinderella Complex can be minimized by increasing social activities that are not limited to the environment from the same area of origin to provide insight and build a more positive self-concept.

CINDERELLA COMPLEX CREATED THROUGH MALE DOMINANCE IN SHAKESPEAREAN CONTEXT: THE TAMING OF THE SHREW

Making a great many contributions to theatre itself, William Shakespeare has widely been acknowledged as the father of English language and literature as well as the greatest playwright in English history. Apart from his poems and sonnets, he produced several influential and well-known plays standing for the customs and lifestyle of Elizabethan age. His basic motif to create such works seems to shed light on the era, probably to criticize the issues which he postulated as flaws of the society. Even in his comedies, Shakespeare blended comic elements with critical messages as in The Taming of the Shrew (1623) ranking among the most debatable comedies while inholding some serious subject matters related to male hegemony in his age. In this present study, this play is analysed through the concept ‘Cinderella Complex’ explicated by Colette Dowling. Specifically, the shocking transformation of the ‘shrewish’ Katherina is detailed with regard to this concept. The findings are presented in the conclusion section of the study.

CINDERELLA COMPLEX: A META-ANALYTIC REVIEW

Women’s dependency has been a widely debated topic all over the world. A woman is always expected to do only what is appropriate in contemporary society since infancy, and they are not prepared for independence or self-sufficiency from the moment they are born. The idea of female dependency began to cause confusion and discontent among the ‘new independent women’. The fear of being independent then termed as the Cinderella Complex. Cinderella Complex refers to the fear of being independent, causes unconscious desire to be taken care of by others (C. Dowling, 1981). Here the investigator planned to go through the studies conducted in India as well as outside to have a deep understanding on the concept of Cinderella Complex, its dimensions, method of study, related concepts, implications etc. The investigators used meta-analysis as the method for approaching the problem. Six studies which met the inclusion criteria were selected for this study. Findings of the study show that it is interpreted that women having high scores in Cinderella Complex are bound to show negative motivation towards personal growth. Gambaran Psikologis Cinderella Complex Syndrome Pada Perempuan Suku Banjar (Studi Deskriptif Pada KAMMI Kota Banjarmasin)

The cinderella complex syndrome is a network of attitudes and fears in women and makes them feel depressed, causing fearness to use their ability, thus their desire to always be taken care of and protected appeared. The purpose of this research is to know the psychological description of cinderella complex syndrome in women who joined KAMMI Banjarmasin which includes the forming process, factors, characteristics, and aspects. This is field research with descriptive qualitative approach in Banjarmasin with 2 subjects aged 20 and 21 years old. The data collecting methods used in this research is screening test using the scale of the cinderella complex syndrome, interviews, observation, and graphic tests (with analysis results of the tests that supervised by a psychologist). The result of this research indicates that the forming process of the cinderella complex syndrome is closely related to various childhood experiences. The influencing factors are culture, parenting, mass media, low self-esteem, and perception. The characteristics that apparent are lack of confidence, feel worthless, afraid to face challenges, hard to do everything by herself, often having psychosomatic, fear of failure, lazy to take a risk, and dependent. Aspects that seen are they expect directions from others, external self-control, low self-esteem, avoid challenges, and competitions. There are also aspects of emotions, cognitive, and social that has been successfully revealed through graphic test.

The main study of this research is to determine: (1) General description of the behavior of thetendency Cinderella Complex in a student at the Faculty of Education, UNM. (2) The factors that cause thetendency behavior Cinderella Complex in a student at the Faculty of Education, UNM. (3) Efforts that can be made by female students who experiencetendencies Cinderella Complex in a student at the Faculty of Education, UNM. The approach to this research is qualitative with the type of case study research. Data were collected through interviews, observation and documentation. Data analysis used descriptive analysis with triangulation techniques. The results obtained are: (1) a description of the tendency ofbehavior Cinderella Complex in a student at the Faculty of Education, UNM, which refers to the student who expects more guidance or help from men or other people. (2) the factors that cause the tendency ofbehavior Cinderella Complex in a student at the Faculty of Education, UNM, namely the parenting style that is applied in her family, and also self-concept. (3) Efforts that can be made by a student who experiences a tendency towardsbehavior Cinderella Complex in a student at the Faculty of Education UNM, namely counseling using Cognitive Restructuring techniques can reduce the tendency ofbehavior Cinderella Complex in female students at the Faculty of Education UNM

Gender Perception in Accounting Lifes

Not all women can be independent in living their lives, this could be because women experience dependency, fear of independence and have a deep desire to be cared for and protected by others. As explained earlier, socio-cultural influences cause women to be educated, nurtured and raised by conditioning them as weak creatures, thus creating dependence. Cinderella complex is a form of psychological phenomenon that is not widely known by the general public. Cinderella Complex talks about the independence that psychologists experience in women. One of the increasing roles of women in society can be seen from the variety of jobs currently occupied by women. The field of science is not beyond the reach of women, as evidenced by the large number of auditors, financial managers and financial staff for professions that are normally synonymous with the work of men occupied by women. This research is a descriptive study, so there are no dependent and independent variables, the variable in this study is the cinderella complex variable for female workers who majored in accounting at Mahadhika College of Economics in Surabaya. The Cinderella complex for female students majoring in accounting at Mahardhika College of Economics Surabaya is in the medium category, which means that the fear of independence is not too heavy. The complex aspect of cinderella that has the biggest obstacle is the passive aspect of making decisions and developing oneself and the one that has the smallest contribution is the tendency to rely on others.

Unveiling the Implicit Political Agenda: A Comparative Analysis of the Construction of Gender Roles in Grimm’s Ashputtel and Giuseppe Pitré’s The Magical Little Date Tree

In 1981, American therapist Colette Dowling proposed the term “the Cinderella Complex” to the field of psychology to investigate how millions of women have fallen into the trap of the hidden fear of independence. Deriving its name from the fairy tale Cinderella, the term also has begun to elucidate how the discourse of fairy tales has created a ‘nonconscious ideology’ and designates gender roles in society throughout the ages. In relation, this study scrutinizes the comparative analysis of the Brothers Grimm’s fairy tale Ashputtel (1812), widely known as Cinderella, and Giuseppe Pitre’s The Magical Little Date Tree (1875), the Italian version of Cinderella, through the lenses of plural investigation methods which encapsulate the feminist literary criticism and the cultural materialist approach. It analyzes how the dominant ideology, the patriarchal discourse represented by the Brothers Grimm through Cinderella, constructs a nonconscious ideology to subjugate women to become passive, weak, submissive entities, not only in fairy tales but also in daily life. This study suggests that the hegemony of the dominant ideology is reversed by Pitre’s protagonist Ninetta, who subverts gender roles through creating a language, a voice of her own and encouraging her sense of independence and self-reliance. Therefore, she surpasses the limits of Cinderella, who is gendered by the hegemony, and sheds light upon how fairy tales construct gender-appropriate behaviors in society.

The article is devoted to the reconstruction of Cinderella myth in contemporary culture in the relation to the changing concepts of femininity. The Author takes into account several contexts of this issue. First, it can be understood in the terms of life as a lottery thanks to which in one moment a person is famous or rich (e.g. thanks to television success). Also, the author analyses the Cinderella in a light of sociological theory of competitive mobility. Besides sociotherapeutic Cinderella complex is analysed as well as feminist interpretation of Cinderella are reconstructed. The different versions of Cinderella fable are confronted with the various kinds of relations between women and men in contemporary. The Author shows also the examples of using the Cinderella myth in commercial advertising as well as politics and economy (Cinderella industry).
