Analysis of Rural Elderly Care Strategies: “Policy Guidance-Resource Integration” Pathway

With the development of China's social economy and the aging population, rural areas are facing increasingly challenging elderly care issues due to labor outflow and economic development lagging behind urban areas. To address this problem, this study collected a large amount of relevant literature, summarized and analyzed existing research, and explored pathways to effectively improve the quality of rural elderly care services. Through interdisciplinary theoretical analysis and practical research, the study proposed the “Policy Guidance-Resource Integration” pathway, confirmed its effectiveness, and elaborated on specific implementation methods and underlying rationale. The research findings demonstrate that the “Policy Guidance-Resource Integration” pathway can effectively address some of the current issues in rural elderly care, offering new insights and guidance for academic research and policy formulation in the field of rural elderly care.

Economic Development Zones Empowering Regional Economies for High Quality Development Pathway Studies — Take L Economic Development Zone in City D as an Example

Since the reform and opening up, China’s economic development zones have developed at a high speed. As the experimental field and pacesetter of reform and opening up, development zones play an extremely important role in China’s economic and social development. In particular, it has made great contributions to optimizing industrial institutions, developing foreign trade, increasing regional taxes and other aspects. As a fast lane for China’s economic development, the industrialization of development zones is the essential feature of development zones. Under the market economy, development zones play an important engine role in the country’s industrialization and modernization. As the experimental field of urban economic development and the representative of location policy orientation, economic development zones also play an important role in the high-quality development of regional economy in China. At present, China’s economic development is facing the demand of iterative transformation and upgrading. Developing new quality productivity and promoting the good development of production relations have become an important development task at present and in the future. As a pilot area, the economic development zone has a huge effect on the improvement of regional economic quality. This paper takes the economic development zone of L District as an example to build a case analysis mechanism framework based on the perspective of political economy, study how economic development zones can enable high-quality development of regional economy.

A Study of the Impact of Private Equity Funds on the Value of SMEs

Private equity (PE), a type of equity investment in unlisted companies, has gradually become more popular in the domestic market as a result of China's economy's rapid development. According to certain experts, private equity significantly affects businesses. Less research has been done, though, on how private equity funds affect business value. The focus of this article is therefore the impact of PE on the valuation of SMEs. Based on the GEM data from 2019 to 2022, the empirical analysis of the results by means of multi-linear regression model indicates that the value of private equity firms is higher than that of non-private equity investors, and the lower the balance sheet ratio, the higher the return on net assets ratio, or the higher the research and development intensity of the enterprises participated by private equity institutions, the more conducive it is to increase the value of small and medium-sized enterprises.

Efficient Use of Financial Technology in Consumer Finance Companies

With the rapid advancement of China's economy, the demand for consumer credit has surged, driven by diversified consumption scenarios and product categories. Consumer finance companies, alongside traditional commercial banks, have become pivotal in meeting this demand. The integration of financial technology (fintech) into the consumer finance sector has revolutionized the entire business process, encompassing pre-lending, lending, and post-lending phases. This study explores the application and impact of fintech on consumer finance companies, focusing on customer acquisition, risk management, and operational efficiency. Additionally, the study addresses the emerging risks associated with fintech, such as technological black boxes and algorithmic biases, which pose new challenges for risk management. By analyzing the fintech-enabled business processes and risk control mechanisms, this paper provides insights into optimizing fintech applications to enhance efficiency and mitigate risks in consumer finance companies.

Financial Analysis of Tal Education group Based on Harvard Analytical Framework

With the rapid development of China's economy and the continuous improvement of residents' living standards, people pay more and more attention to youth education. Among them, educational institutions represented by New Oriental and TAL have become well-known enterprises in the field of education and training in China. The huge market potential and rich market profits have attracted the participation of many educational institutions, which also makes the rapid development of China's education and training market in a short period of time, and intensifies the pressure of market competition for independent enterprises. In this paper, Tal Education Group as the research object, first of all, the business situation of Tal Education Group is analyzed, and then based on the Harvard analysis framework from the strategic analysis, accounting analysis, financial analysis, prospect analysis and other aspects of the application of TAL Education Group is analyzed. Problems and Strategies of Financial Services Supporting the Real Economy

With the rapid development of China's economy, the status and role of the financial industry in the national economy have become increasingly prominent. The healthy development of the financial industry is of great significance for promoting the development of the real economy, adjusting the economic structure, and upgrading the economy. However, there are still some problems with financial services supporting the real economy in China, such as the misallocation of financial resources, high financing costs, and rising financial risks. These issues limit the support financial services can provide to the real economy. This paper analyzes the main problems currently existing in financial services supporting the real economy and proposes countermeasures from optimizing the allocation of financial resources, reducing financing costs for the real economy, preventing and resolving financial risks, and deepening the structural reform of the financial supply side. The aim is to provide references for relevant personnel.

A Prospective Study on the Economic Effects of China-GCC FTA - Simulation and Analyses Based on GTAP Model

In the context of the "Belt and Road" initiative, this paper is based on the China-GCC FTA negotiations, and uses the Global Trade Analysis Model (GTAP) to construct six scenarios of tariff reduction in key sectors and reduction of technical barriers to trade (TBT) between China and the GCC countries, and to assess the impacts of the construction of the FTA on the economies of China and related countries. The paper shows that increased trade liberalization has a positive economic impact on the China-GCC FTA. At the same time, tariff changes in the manufacturing and oil and gas industries dominated the tariff reductions, but the reduction of technical barriers to trade (TBT) has a particularly significant impact compared to tariffs. Bilateral trade will contribute more remarkably to China's continued economic growth than in the GCC countries. Reductions in trade barriers will effectively boost production demand in Chinese and GCC countries, contributing imports, exports and output, which will benefit both economies, specially, China's trade surpluses increasing particularly in various sectors.

Chinese Digital Economy: Current Situations, Problems, and Recommendations

The rapid development of the digital economy is transforming global business models and social interactions. By 2025, global e-commerce transactions are anticipated to reach $6.86 trillion, underlining the importance of the digital economy as a major force for economic expansion. China's digital economy, having reached RMB 50.2 trillion in 2023 and comprising 41.5% of its GDP, is notably advancing, catalyzing the transformation of traditional industries and fostering new business models. Significant investments in digital infrastructure such as 5G, big data centers, AI, and the industrial internet underscore China's commitment to technological innovation. Despite these advancements, challenges remain, including talent shortages, data security, and privacy concerns, as well as the digital divide. Addressing these issues involves enhancing digital talent training and introduction, improving data security regulations, and promoting coordinated regional development. This study is of great practical value in guiding policy formulation, optimizing resource allocation, and promoting the inclusive application of digital technologies, which will help promote the healthy and rapid development of China's digital economy, ensure that all levels of society can benefit from the advancement of the digital economy, and achieve comprehensive economic and social transformation and upgrading.

Data-Driven Market Segmentation: K-means Clustering and STP Analysis in Mainland China's Sportswear Industry

Post-Covid-19, mainland China's economy is gradually recovering, leading to increased sportswear sales. This study integrates STP theory (segmentation, targeting, positioning) with the K-means clustering algorithm to analyze the sportswear market in mainland China. Consumer data was collected via a questionnaire survey, pre-processed, and cleaned before applying K-means clustering to segment consumers into four distinct groups. The analysis reveals significant differences in purchasing habits across these segments. This data-driven approach offers sportswear companies insights for targeted marketing strategies, enhancing the precision and effectiveness of their marketing efforts in mainland China.

Research on Management and Sustainable Development Strategy of Food Enterprises under ESG Concepts

In the field of economic and social development, people often mention and pay attention to the development of enterprises. However, in the past, people's attention was often focused on the sustainable development of enterprises based on the evaluation of enterprise financial indicators. As an important part of China's economy, enterprises shoulder the heavy responsibility of taking the road of sustainable development, and the implementation of sustainable development strategy is an inevitable choice faced by enterprises in China. ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) concept is a key factor for the sustainable development of enterprises, and it is also an investment decision-making concept recognized by the international community.

Wanghong e-commerce in/as China’s economic transformation: A case study of beauty wanghong

This article examines the crucial encounter between wanghong and e-commerce in the specific process of China’s platformization. We develop a threefold (macro-meso-micro) approach that combines perspectives from political economy, critical industry studies, and ethnographic research to identify and unpack the heterogeneous actors and actions in the evolution of wanghong e-commerce, using beauty wanghong as a case study. Drawing upon document studies (146 documents between 2001 and 2022) and 21 semi-structured interviews (supplemented by ethnographic field observations over seven months in 2018), we argue that: first, the contrast between strong consumer demand (activated by beauty wanghong) and poorly developed retail and distribution channels in the Chinese beauty industry provides a precondition for the emergence of beauty wanghong e-commerce; second, e-commerce platform Alibaba has boosted and institutionalized the convergence of wanghong and e-commerce, developing a new “social commerce model” that integrates social networking with entertainment in the context of e-commerce transactions; finally, China’s ongoing economic transformation has created possibilities and challenges for wanghong e-commerce and energized this new “social commerce” business model. The articulation of the wanghong and e-commerce is a result—and also a stage—of the integration of the manufacturing industry and platform economy in China. It is a consequence, yet an embodiment of China’s economic transformation.

Savior or saboteur? A nationwide study on digital economy and depression in China

The regional boom in digital economy has provided people with remote conversations and socialization while reducing the risk of depression. This study aims to elucidate whether regional digital economy can be a savior for individual depression. The multi-source dataset collects 11,845 individuals from the China Health and Retirement Longitudinal Study 2018 (CHARLS), with the combination of corresponding regional data from China City Statistical Yearbooks. A series of regressions with integrated mediation and moderation analyses are employed to bridge the link between the digital economy and depression. The results suggest that people living in areas with a higher level of digital economy are less likely to suffer from depression. The development of the digital economy helps people find solace or air grievances more easily, thereby reducing the risk of depression. Individual information and communications technology (ICT) engagement is found to mediate the relationship between the regional digital economy and individual depression. Residence type moderates the association between the three casual pairs of digital economy, ICT engagement, and depression. Improved digitization stimulates personal engagement with ICTs, which in turn expands social connections and support. Strengthened social interactions naturally keep depression away. Moreover, the urban-rural differences further confirm the underlying mechanism. Properly embracing the new digital world can therefore benefit from the transformative potential and mitigate depressive outcomes.

Coordinated measurement of marine economy: High-quality and low-carbon development in China

The marine economy needs high-quality development, as severe greenhouse effect has become a global concern and carbon emission reduction has been an essential target of marine economy growth. However, a lack of synergistic research in the field of marine economy development and carbon emissions has hindered progress. This study explores the critical interactive relationship between the high-quality and low-carbon development in China's marine economy, aiming to foster green development in coastal urban agglomerations and enhance ecological security alongside economic growth. Despite the importance, comprehensive analysis across multiple dimensions of high-quality and low-carbon development of marine economy remains scarce. This paper establishes a systematic and scientific evaluation index system, utilizing text analysis technology and the Panel Vector Autoregression Model (PVAR) to quantitatively assess the complex system relationship between these dimensions. The results including: (1) The development of a 23 nodes tree structure through a bottom-up, multi-level coding method, effectively addressing the complexity of the current evaluation system for high-quality development of the marine economy. (2) Moran's I of subsystems are all negative, presenting an obvious high-low agglomeration characteristics. The discovery that intra-group differences exceed inter-group ones in marine economic development, indicates that the need for synergistic development among the provinces within marine economic circles. (3) The identification of significant bidirectional interactions between open and shared high-quality development and low-carbon development, with a notable lag effect in responses. The predominant role of innovation in all subsystems underscores the centrality of the marine innovation environment and factors as key drivers in the synergy of high-quality and low-carbon development in the marine economy.

Spatiotemporal Coupling Relationship between Higher Education and Economic Development in China: Based on Interprovincial Panel Data from 2012 to 2023

This study explored the relationship between education and the economy in China, focusing on 31 provinces, municipalities, and autonomous regions from 2012 to 2023. It developed an appropriate evaluation model to assess the coupling and collaborative development of the ‘higher education and economy’ composite system. The study quantified both the quantity and quality of higher education modernization in China using the entropy-weight method and a comprehensive development- level evaluation model. The coupling-coordination degree model was applied to empirically analyze the internal logic, operating mechanisms, and coupling-coordination degree between the supply of higher education and the demand for high-quality regional economic development within the context of the new development pattern. Additionally, the obstacle degree model was introduced to identify factors hindering the coupling and coordination of higher education and regional economic development across 31 provinces and municipalities. The findings revealed that (1) the modernization levels of higher education exhibited fluctuating yet overall upward trends, with the eastern region leading. Economic development followed a similar upward trajectory, with the eastern region outperforming other areas. (2) The coupling coordination between higher education and economic development followed a ‘rising-falling-rising’ pattern. (3) The higher education system emerged as the primary obstacle to coupling coordination, with specific challenges varying across different regions.

Non-Tectonic Geohazards of Guangdong Province, China, Monitored Using Sentinel-1A/B from 2015 to 2022.

Guangdong Province, home to 21 cities and a permanent population of 127.06 million people, boasts the largest provincial economy in China, contributing 11.76% to the national GDP in 2023. However, it is prone to geological hazards due to its geological conditions, extreme weather, and extensive human activities. Geohazards not only endanger lives but also hinder regional economic development. Monitoring surface deformation regularly can promptly detect geological hazards and allow for effective mitigation strategies. Traditional ground subsidence monitoring methods are insufficient for comprehensive surveys and rapid monitoring of geological hazards in the whole province. Interferometric Synthetic Aperture Radar (InSAR) technology using satellite images can achieve wide-area geohazard monitoring. However, current geological hazard monitoring in Guangdong Province based on InSAR technology lacks regional analysis and statistics of surface deformation across the entire province. Furthermore, such monitoring fails to analyze the spatial-temporal characteristics of surface deformation and disaster evolution mechanisms by considering the local geological features. To address these issues, current work utilizes Sentinel-1A/B satellite data covering Guangdong Province from 2015 to 2022 to obtain the wide-area surface deformation in the whole province using the multi-temporal (MT) InSAR technology. Based on the deformation results, a wide-area deformation region automatic identification method is used to identify the surface deformation regions and count the deformation area in each city of Guangdong Province. By analyzing the results, we obtained the following findings: (1) Using the automatic identification algorithm we identified 2394 deformation regions. (2) Surface subsidence is concentrated in the delta regions and reclamation areas; over a 4 cm/year subsidence rate is observed in the hilly regions of northern Guangdong, particularly in mining areas. (3) Surface deformation is closely related to geological structures and human activities. (4) Sentinel-1 satellite C-band imagery is highly effective for wide-area geological hazard monitoring, but has limitations in monitoring small-area geological hazards. In the future, combining the high-spatial-temporal-resolution L-band imagery from the NISAR satellite with Sentinel-1 imagery will allow for comprehensive monitoring and early warning of geological hazards, achieving multiple geometric and platform perspectives for geological hazard monitoring and management in Guangdong Province. The findings of this study have significant reference value for the monitoring and management of geological disasters in Guangdong Province.
