Typology Model Based Building and Land Infrastructure Structure Organization and Duties Bali Area Police

Polsek was a police station in the district that provides police services to the community. There are four types of Polsek, namely A, B, C, and D. Polsek in the Bali Area are 58 with types B and C. Polsek is expected to have adequate supporting infrastructure such as Integrated Police Service Center rooms, facilities for the disabled, children's playgrounds, breastfeeding rooms, detention cells, and parking, open spaces. However, the land area is only sometimes adequate. The analysis used interview methods, observation, literature studies, and SWOT analysis. The results show that Polsek's need for land Type B is 631.54 m2, and Type C is 377.14 m2. The SWOT analysis was in the strength and threat quadrant, so a policy is needed to evenly distribute the development of each Polsek type B and C, starting from land acquisition by the main tasks and functions of the police in serving the community.

Research on the Design of Child-Friendly Landscape Space in Chengdu Crown Community Based on SDG

Objective: This study aims to explore and implement a child-centred landscape space design strategy to support the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), especially in the old residential environment of the Crown Community in Chengdu, China. Theoretical Framework: The study constructs a theoretical framework for child-friendly communities based on the United Nations' children's rights and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), especially Goal 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities) and Goal 13 (Climate Action). Method: Through literature review and field research, combined with questionnaires, this study collected 120 child samples, analyzed their behavioural needs, and proposed corresponding landscape space design strategies. Research Implications: The study found that the needs of children in the Crown Community mainly focus on natural experience, research experience, game interaction, and hiding exploration. The design strategy transforms the existing space into an art garden, a book garden, and a children's playground to meet these needs and promote the realization of SDGs. Research Significance: The study emphasizes that improving children's living environment through landscape design is significant to achieving the goals of sustainable cities and communities in SDGs. Originality/Value: This study provides an innovative approach to integrating SDGs into renovating old communities and offers a new perspective for designing child-friendly landscape spaces, which will help promote the renewal of old urban communities and the construction of child-friendly cities.

Soundscape and indoor air quality in naturally ventilated educational environments: a multi-domain study

In this study, indoor air quality (IAQ) and acoustics were jointly analysed to determine their i) combined effect on students' performance in a math task, and ii) cross-modal effect on soundscape perception. 192 students (12 to 14 years) took part in a laboratory experiment. Students were separated into two classroom-like chambers with different IAQ conditions: a CO2 concentration of 800 and 2000 ppm, respectively. The participants were asked to solve calculations and answer a soundscape questionnaire in three listening conditions: quiet, a natural scenario with birdsongs, and one scenario with children's playground activity sounds. In the latter two conditions, the sounds were played back through headphones at a level of 47 dBA. Results show that students had faster response times in the math task in quiet compared to the listening condition with children's activity sounds, while maintaining a similar task accuracy. No effect of the IAQ conditions and natural sounds was found on the task performance. No cross-modal effect of CO2 concentration on soundscape perception was detected. Regarding soundscape assessments, playground activity was rated as the most annoying listening condition, while listening to birdsongs was the most pleasant one, despite its noise level exceeding the quiet condition.

B-277 Detectable Levels of Toxic Metals in Children's Playgrounds

Abstract Background Metal-contaminated soil poses significant health risks to kids because they are more sensitive to heavy metal exposure in the environment. Studies have shown that continuous exposure to metals can increase the risk of metal accumulation in blood and various body organs. This study determines the levels of some toxic metals in various playgrounds in our community. Methods We determined the levels of lead (Pb), chromium (Cr), cadmium (Cd), and copper (Cu) in six playgrounds (parks) (T-RP, T-GP, T-TX, L-HH, L-WH, L-SPLX) using graphite furnace atomic absorption spectrophotometry (GF-AAS) technique. Soil samples were collected at least one foot below the soil surface, and metal was extracted using ultra-pure nitric before analysis using GF-AAS. Data were analyzed using analysis of variance (ANOVA). Results The results showed significant detectable levels of the metals in all playgrounds evaluated in this study. L-WH Park in League City has the highest detectable levels of Pb (12.43 ± 46 mg/Kg, P<0.05) compared to other children playgrounds examined in this study (T-RP (3.93 ± 3.97 mg/Kg), T-GP (7.09 ± 2.79 mg/Kg), T-TX (6.05 ± 1.92 mg/Kg), L-HH (4.68 ± 0.76 mg/Kg), L-SPLX (2.64 ± 1.63 mg/Kg). The concentration of detectable cadmium in T-RP park (0.16 ± 0.11 mg/Kg) was significantly higher than all the other five children's playgrounds studied L-WH (0.02 ± 0.01 ), T-GP (0.05 ± 0.04 mg/Kg), T-TX (0.02 ± 0.01 mg/Kg), L-HH (0.04 ± 0.01 mg/Kg), L-SPLX (0.09 ± 0.04 mg/Kg) (P<0.05). Conclusions The playgrounds contain detectable toxic metals that might pose health risks to children in the community. Though the lead levels are below the CDC-recommended lead soil concentration in urban areas, they still pose health risks to children in the environment when continuously exposed to the playground. The concentrations of Cu and Cr were not statistically different among the playgrounds. The detection of Pb and Cd highlights the potential health risks to children. Overall, this study shows that metal levels in playgrounds should be public information available to parents.

It is so important to train communication in early childhood. Often children are silent and lazy to do an activity will result in communication skills in children not growing well. In fact, communication skills play an important role in a child's life. Children's good communication skills come from activities that children usually do in their world, namely through playing. However, it is very regrettable if the world for children's play is very sporadic, even difficult to produce. The limited playground for children causes children to be more interested or choose to play inside the house by playing gadgets, watching television although this has several positive impacts, but it makes children no longer interested in playing outside such as playing chase, cats, sobyong and others so that children do not socialize with their peers which can hinder the development of early childhood communication. Therefore, the development of early childhood communication is very important to be developed from an early age. Playing can train children's communication, not only that, but also some aspects of development children.

Environmental risk estimation of potentially toxic metal(loid)s (PTMs) in fine particulate dust on the surface of children's playgrounds in parks

To determine the priority control factors for risk control and management of potentially toxic metal(loid)s (PTMs) in fine particulate dust (FPD) on the surface of children's playgrounds in parks, a comprehensive study was conducted on the pollution, risks, and sources of 12 PTMs in the FPD, taking Xi’an, China as a case. The pollution, ecological and health risks of PTMs were assessed using Nemerow integrated enrichment factor, modified Nemerow integrated eco–risk index, and health risk evaluation model, combined with Monte Carlo simulation. The sources of PTMs in the FPD were quantitatively apportioned using a positive matrix factorization model. Priority control factors for PTMs risk control and management were determined based on the results of source–oriented pollution and risk assessment. The results showed that the average contents (mg kg–1) of Cd (1.9), Cr (99.8), Cu (96.3), Hg (0.2), Pb (61.1), and Zn (239.4) in the FPD were considerably greater than local background values. The sources of PTMs in the FPD are industrial emission, coal combustion and medical activities, mixed source, and natural source, contributing 24.7%, 18.2%, 35.1%, and 22.1% to the total content of PTMs in the FPD, respectively. PTMs in the FPD posed a certain cancer risk to the elderly and children. Industrial emissions and mixed sources are priority control sources, while Cd and Cr are priority PTMs. It is recommended that local eco–environmental departments strengthen environmental monitoring of playgrounds, as well as management of industrial and transportation emissions, to ensure the health of residents.

When Childcare is Commodified: An Autoethnography of Urban Mothering in Yogyakarta, Indonesia

The research explores how motherhood constructs parenting spaces in urban contexts and, conversely, how urban spaces construct urban motherhood. This autoethnographic research uses Edward Soja’s concept of third space. The results of this study show that working mothers’ routines position them in terms of categorizing time, namely time for work and time for parenting, with a preference for parenting space outside the home. This practice simultaneously constructs temporal (time of care) and spatial (space of care) understandings for children and parents. Social media accelerates the spread of information about leisure centers, including the segmentation of care spaces. The creation of these new care spaces shows that the commodification of urban mothering is slowly shifting the role of care from the home to the public sphere. On the other hand, this domestication of the caring space can involve men in caring practices and change the stigma that caring is not only a woman’s role. Despite thearticulation of parenting as a lifestyle, the infrastructure of parenting spaces and playgrounds for children is still far from meeting the criteria of public space, as the majority are commodified, especially in the context of this research, Yogyakarta.

Assessing heavy metal contamination and health risks in playground dust near cement factory: exposure levels in children

Heavy metals pose significant threats to human health, particularly children. This study aimed to assess heavy metal pollution in children's playgrounds using surface dust as an indicator and to ascertain the associated exposure levels and health risks. A total of one hundred twenty dust samples were collected from the surface of playground toys in areas surrounding the cement factory in Bursa, Türkiye, on precipitation-free days. The heavy metal content of the samples was analyzed using ICP-MS. The average total concentration of heavy metals ranged from 2401 to 6832 mg/kg across the sampling sites, with the highest values observed at PG4, PG3, PG2, and PG1, respectively. The most commonly detected heavy metals in the samples included Cr, Mn, Fe, Co, Cu, Zn, Pb, Cd, As, and Ni. Statistical analysis revealed significant positive correlations (p < 0.01) among Cr, Mn, Fe, Co, Cu, Pb, As, and Ni, with Cu and Pb also showing correlation (p < 0.05). PCA analysis identified three principal components explaining 79.905% of the total variance. The Hazard Quotient (HQ) and Hazard Index values for heavy metals were found to be below the safe threshold (HQ < 1). Quantitative techniques such as the geoaccumulation index and enrichment factor are used to determine pollution levels at the sampling sites. Overall, the results indicate that cement factories significantly contribute to heavy metal pollution, with observed values varying based on proximity to the emission source.

Something for the young and old: A natural experiment to evaluate the impact of park improvements

Given the significant time and financial investment required to improve parks, evaluations of the effectiveness of park improvements are crucial to inform future investment and design to benefit people of all ages. This natural experiment study examined the impact of park improvements on park visitation and park-based physical activity (PA) in two suburban parks (Park A and Park B) compared to a control park with no improvements. Park A underwent substantial improvements with wide range of facilities, including an all-abilities large adventure-style playground, outdoor fitness area designed for older adults, walking paths and other amenities. Park B received relatively minor improvements that included a playground for young children, outdoor fitness equipment for older adults, and a picnic area. Direct observations were conducted using the System for Observing Play and Recreation in Communities at three timepoints; before (T1–2020) and after (T2–2021, and T3–2022) the improvements. At Park A, there was a significant increase in the total number of park visitors at both timepoints, and those engaged in moderate-to-vigorous physical activity (MVPA) from T1 to T3, relative to the control park. There were also significant increases in active park visits among children, adults, and older adults. At Park B, there were no significant changes in the total number of park visitors or those engaged in MVPA at either timepoint relative to the control park. These findings suggest the extent of improvements and the diversity of facilities included can influence the success of the intervention. The study highlights that including challenging and diverse play equipment suitable for various age groups and abilities, as well as other recreational features such as walking paths and outdoor fitness equipment can increase park visitation and physical activity across different age groups. The findings can inform future park management and planning decisions.

Assessment of Recreational Activities and Greening of Urban-Parks in Kharkiv

Abstract Urban-parks, as sports and gaming locations, are a new type of landscape facilities in Ukraine, the first of which were created in Kharkiv. The three urban-parks in Kharkiv have been studied: Molodizhnyi, Saltivskyi and urban-park on Yuriyeva Bulevard. Recreational studies and plant inventories have been conducted to determine the popularity of the parks in 2021. The recreation surveys considered two indicators: the degree of recreation and the length of time visitors spent in the park. Field surveys were conducted in August and October. Saltivskyi urban-park was the most visited, and Molodizhnyi park was the least visited. The presence of playgrounds for pre-school children and children with disabilities makes Saltivskyy more attractive. The calculation of the average length of stay of the visitors on the territory showed that the visitors spend from 1,3 h/day to 1,77 h/day in the urban-parks. It is possible to identify shortcomings in the design of urban parks and make suggestions for their improvement based on the results of recreational load and greenery inventory assessment in urban-parks. The inventory showed that the area of green spaces in the urban-parks has decreased as a result of reconstruction. The level of greenery in Saltivskyi and Molodizhnyi urban parks is rather low and does not meet national regulatory requirements. There are 28 plant taxa of 11 families used in landscaping of the urban-parks, the greatest diversity in Molodizhnyi has been observed. It is necessary to optimize the existing assortment of plants. Some of them are not in a good sanitary condition, which has a negative impact on the overall decorative appearance of the plants and the parks in general.

FEATURES OF THE DESIGN OF CHILDREN'S PLAYGROUNDS IN THE STRUCTURE OF RESIDENTIAL COMPLEXES

In the context of urbanization, the origins and main stages of the formation of children's gaming platforms, starting from the mid-nineteenth century to the present day, have been investigated, and the key significance of the game as a systemic factor has been established. In current minds, starting from the 80s of the 20th century, and the decline of normative influences, a wide variety of children's play areas have been recorded, not only in the courtyard middle of residential complexes, but also in the structure of towns and admixtures of the landscape river activity, and on the days and on the internet 'eras of richly functional huge complexes. The main features of “design spaces” have been identified, which may include rich functionality, ergonomics (compactness and proportionality), a high level of comfort (physiological, emotional-psychological) , aesthetic) and technical equipment, obviously, interactivity and intelligence in the design space, the ability to respond to There are different types of drivers and they change depending on the situation and safety. A number of principles have been proposed - complexity, hierarchy, exclusive design, which revolve around such valuable imperatives as the creation of a safe environment for development; directness to maximize the child's potential in the process of play; organization of space that inspires creativity and exudes artistic and functional comfort. STRATEGY FOR DEVELOPING THE RAINBOW BRIDGE MARINE TOURISM OBJECT IN NAGARI MUARA KANDIS PUNGGASAN PESISIR SELATAN DISTRICT

The purpose of this study is to develop the Rainbow Bridge marine tourism object in order to increase the local original income (PAD) of Muara Kandis Punggasan and the economy of the surrounding community by analyzing strategies then using the right strategies. The background of this study is the failure in the development of rainbow bridge marine tourism objects in Nagari Muara Kandis, Punggasan, South Coast Regency and how the strategy in developing these tourist attractions. The research method uses a type of descriptive qualitative research with data analysis techniques in the form of SWOT analysis. Data collection through observation, interviews and documentation. The result of this study is that the Rainbow Bridge marine tourism object is known to the public not only with the uniqueness of the bridge and the beauty of the beach but also provided a children's playground that made many visitors at that time, but this tourist attraction is no longer operating until now, even photo spots in marine attractions are no longer there or damaged. Many facilities had to be added, especially after the attraction's vacuum, all average facilities had to be reorganized. The failure of the construction of the Rainbow Bridge marine tourism object was due to lack of management, especially Nagari Owned Enterprises (BUMNAG), besides that this tourist attraction was also quiet because it was hit by Covid-19 at that time.

СУЧАСНІ ПІДХОДИ ДО ПРОСТОРОВОЇ ОРГАНІЗАЦІЇ МУЗЕЇВ ТА ЕКСПОЗИЦІЙ ПРОСТО НЕБА. ЄВРОПЕЙСЬКИЙ ДОСВІД

There are numerous open-air museums worldwide, and public spaces often incorporate both permanent and temporary outdoor exhibitions. Based on studies conducted on open-air museums and exhibitions in Vienna and its surrounding areas, as part of the academic cooperation program TU Vienna – TU Lviv, this article explores the European approach to the architectural and spatial organization of such institutions. Through this research, contemporary approaches to their architectural and spatial organization were examined, and both positive and negative aspects were highlighted. This article aims to analyze the distinct features of the architectural and spatial organization of European open-air museums and exhibitions, identifying their positive aspects and approaches that could be implemented in Ukraine. In Ukrainian studies, the topic of modern open-air museums is only gaining popularity and is not well presented. Hence, involving local scholars in this globally expanding field would be relevant. European open-air museums, particularly in Austria, show several trends in spatial organization, including a comprehensive approach, accessibility, family-oriented infrastructure, wide implementation of interactive elements, and integration of multimedia technologies. These museums blend original artifacts with modern enhancements to provide visitors with a unique experience. Noteworthy aspects observed in open-air museums and exhibitions, which are scarce or absent in Ukraine, include combining several neighboring objects into one museum complex, a large number of children's playgrounds, ample recreation and food areas, inclusiveness, infrastructure for dog walking, provision of venues for holding mass events, and onsite production and sale of themed merchandise in souvenir shops. The principles of spatial and architectural organization in open-air museums and exhibitions in Vienna and its vicinity boast several positive features that we believe are pertinent for implementation in Ukraine. Notably, interactivity to engage visitors and inclusivity, which is poised to be a pressing issue during Ukraine's post-war reconstruction, stand out as crucial aspects. The findings from this study can serve as a foundation for enhancing existing or designing new open-air museums in Ukraine.

High clonal diversity of Staphylococcus aureus isolates from children's playgrounds in Hungary.

Staphylococcus aureus is one of the most important human pathogenic bacteria and environmental surfaces play an important role in the spread of the bacterium. Presence of S. aureus on children's playgrounds and on toys was described in international studies, however, little is known about the prevalence and characteristics of S. aureus at playgrounds in Europe. In this study, 355 samples were collected from playgrounds from 16 cities in Hungary. Antibiotic susceptibility of the isolates was tested for nine antibiotics. Presence of virulence factors was detected by PCR. Clonal diversity of the isolates was tested by PFGE and MLST. The overall prevalence of S. aureus was 2.81% (10/355) and no MRSA isolates were found. Presence of spa (10), fnbA (10), fnbB (5), icaA (8), cna (7), sea (2), hla (10), hlb (2) and hlg (6) virulence genes were detected. The isolates had diverse PFGE pulsotypes. With MLST, we have detected isolates belonging to ST8 (CC8), ST22 (CC22), ST944 and ST182 (CC182), ST398 (CC398), ST6609 (CC45), ST3029 and ST2816. We have identified a new sequence type, ST6609 of CC45. S. aureus isolates are present on Hungarian playgrounds, especially on plastic surfaces. The isolates were clonally diverse and showed resistance to commonly used antibiotics. These data reinforce the importance of the outdoor environment in the spread for S. aureus in the community.

Overheated children's playgrounds in Central European cities: The effects of surfaces and shading on thermal exposure during hot summer days

Thermal exposure in children's playgrounds is a specific issue in relation to outdoor thermal comfort. In moderate climate regions, playgrounds are prone to overheating on hot summer days. When aiming for a safe design for playgrounds, different thermal conditions with various active surfaces and shading solutions, both natural and artificial, should be considered. Twelve case studies were performed in four Czech cities to quantify the differences in thermal exposure between individual types of active surface and shading, using mean radiant temperature and the biometeorological indices UTCI and PET (plus its experimental child-specific adjustments) as an expression of the thermal environment on hot summer days. The highest thermal exposure appeared above gravel, followed by rubber. Nevertheless, apart from a slightly lower thermal exposure above maintained lawn, substantial positive microclimatic effect of natural surfaces, such as bark mulch, sand, or a small water pool, was not confirmed. In terms of shading, trees provide more pronounced cooling effect than shade sails, but even the latter are effective in substantially reducing heat stress. Analyses of experimental adjustment of PET further indicate the importance of considering the specifics of a child's organism and behavioural adaptation measures when addressing thermal comfort and heat stress in playgrounds.
