Factors Influencing The Behaviour Of Traders In Waste Management At Nanggalo Market Padang City 2023

Waste is solid waste material from human activities at home, schools, shops, public places, markets and so on. One of the markets where there is still a lot of waste in Padang City is the Nanggalo Market in Padang City. Nanggalo Market is one of the traditional markets that sells the daily needs of the community in the market there are still many traders who litter and scatter, for this reason research was conducted at the Nanggalo Market. The purpose of this study was to determine the factors that influence the behaviour of traders in waste management in Nanggalo Market, Padang City in 2023. This research design is quantitative, conducted at Nanggalo Market, Padang City. The research was conducted from December 2022 to June 2023. The population was 408 traders in Nanggalo Market in Padang City with a sample of 80 traders, and the data analysis used was chi-square test statistics. The results showed that there was a significant relationship between knowledge and traders' behaviour in waste management (p<0.024), there was a significant relationship between attitudes and traders' behaviour in waste management (p<0.024), there was a significant relationship between facilities and traders' behaviour (p<0.004), there was a significant relationship between knowledge and traders' behaviour (p0.004), there is a significant relationship between government policy and traders' behaviour (p<0.000), and there is no significant relationship between the role of cleaning staff and traders' behaviour (p>0.182). It can be concluded that there are several factors that are related and some are not related to the behaviour of traders in waste management at Nanggalo Market, Padang City in 2023.

Baseline infection prevalence, risk factors and treatment outcomes of visceral leishmaniasis in Northeastern Uganda: A cross-sectional study.

Visceral leishmaniasis (VL) also known as Kala-azar is one of the neglected tropical diseases (NTD) of public health importance. Despite being a disease of a long history, the condition remains poorly studied especially in East Africa. For instance, whereas, the geographical location of the disease is known, there is a stark paucity of data on the burden, risk factors and clinical outcomes of this contribution in Northeastern Uganda. Therefore, the disease picture in these settings is incomplete. The overarching aim for this study was to describe pre-elimination prevalence, associated factors and treatment outcomes of VL in Moroto District. We conducted a cross-sectional study in which community cases were identified at baseline. They were followed up at Amudat Hospital Kala-azar Treatment Centre for the treatment outcomes. We used a customized data collection tool to elicit data on demographic characteristics, socio-economic and anthropometry. Data were entered on excel database and exported to Stata software for analyses. Proportions and measures of central tendency were computed. Binary associations were determined using Chi-square statistical test. In addition, variables independently associated with VL were determined via logistic regression analyses. At follow up stage, the outcomes were determined. The overall prevalence of VL infection in Moroto district was 5.21% (95%CI: 3.15% - 8.48%) with varying county level prevalence at Matheniko, Tepeth and Mororo at 6.90%, 4.49% and 3.61%; respectively. The common risk factors for VL infection included lack of knowledge of habitat for Sand flies, AOR 5.33 (95%CI: 1.69-16.82). Patients with VL presented with fever, headache, abdominal pain and swelling, coughing, night sweats, diarrhea, fatigue, breathlessness, and nose bleeding. The average hospitalization for VL was 17 days. All the patients who were treated at the hospital cured. The prevalence of VL in Moroto district was 5.21% and within elimination threshold. The high-risk factors for VL infection included lack of knowledge about the habitat for Sand flies. The average hospitalization for VL was 17 days.

Prevalence and associated factors of self-reported oral health problems among adults in the Fanteakwa districts in Ghana

BackgroundThere is a paucity of data on oral health problems among the residents of Fanteakwa districts (South and North) in the Eastern region of Ghana. Therefore, this study assessed the prevalence and factors associated with self-reported oral health problems in the Fanteakwa districts of Ghana.MethodsThis community-based cross-sectional study targeted residents of the towns of the Fanteakwa districts, who have not had any dental care visit in the past six months preceding the study. The participants were enrolled from July – October, 2023. Socio-demographic study variables collected were sex, age, educational level, income level, ethnicity, area of residence, household size and frequency of brushing teeth in a day. Whereas the self-reported oral health problems were tooth ache, swollen gum, bleeding gum, sensitive tooth/teeth, hole in tooth/teeth, discoloured tooth/teeth and mouth odour. The chi-square statistical test was used to test the association between the presence of oral health problem(s) and other independent variables. Whereas, Modified Poisson regression was used to test the relationships among the variables.ResultsIn total, 400 community members were interviewed. The mean age of respondents was 31 years (SD ± 12.4, Min = 19, Max = 81). The majority were females (55.2%) and more than 96% had some form of formal education. The Akan ethnic group accounted for as much as 47% of the respondents. The overall prevalence of self-reported oral health problems was 58.5% (95% CI 53.5% – 63.4%). The commonly reported oral health problems were toothache (51.7%), swollen gum (38.5%), difficulty in chewing (33.3%), bleeding gum (32.1%), and mobile teeth (17.1%). About 98% (229/234) of the study participants who self-reported oral health problems, reported up to four different problems. Self-reported oral health problems associated with participants’ age (χ2 = 7.2, p = 0.027), income level (χ2 = 19.3, p < 0.001), ethnicity (χ2 = 21.2, p < 0.001), area of residence (χ2 = 26.9, p < 0.001), religious affiliation (χ2 = 15.7, p < 0.001) and frequency of brushing teeth in a day (χ2 = 6.85, p < 0.032). Despite the observed relationships, Modified Poisson regression identified that compared to the rural dwellers, the urban dwellers had lower odds of self-reporting oral health problems (aOR = 0.718, p = 0.032, CI: 0.531–0.971), after controlling for age and frequency of teeth brushing in a day.ConclusionHigh rate of self-reported oral health problems was observed in the study site. Participants from rural residence were disproportionately affected. Therefore, local health authorities are encouraged to leverage on the identified risk groups for enhanced oral health education towards reduction in the reported oral health problems.

Exploring Gender-Based Disparities in Finalist Technical-Tactical Actions: A Study of Amateur and Professional Padel Players

Our aim in this study was to analyze gender differences across amateur and professional padel players related to the last shot of each rally. We analyzed a total of 180 games per category (professional and amateur), with 90 games for each gender. We performed descriptive and inferential analyses, including the Chi-square (χ2) statistical test, the Cramer’s V coefficient (Vc), subsequent Z-tests and corrected standard residuals (CSR). Results revealed that male amateurs produced more winners than female amateurs (CSR = 3.2). Conversely, male professionals exhibited more forced errors (CSR = 3.0) than female professionals, while female professionals committed more unforced errors (CSR = 3.8). In addition, there was a significant relationship between the type of the last shot played and player gender among amateurs, particularly when the last shot resulted in a winner ( p &lt; .001) or an unforced error ( p = .011). Similarly, among professionals, there was a significant relationship between gender and last shot play when the last shot was a forced error ( p = .009). Likewise, there was a relationship between the court zone and gender in amateur padel, when the last shot was an unforced error ( p = .002) and among professionals, when the last shot was a winner ( p = .001). In conclusion, the type of technical-tactical action, its effectiveness, and the area of the court were influenced by the players’ sex in both amateur and professional padel.

Factors Affecting Early Marriage in Dau District, Malang Regency

Indonesia still in 8th largest early marriage rate in the world. Many factors cause early marriage to occur, therefore this study aims to analyze the factors that influence early marriage in Dau District, Malang Regency. To analyze the factors that influence early marriage in Dau District, Malang Regency. The design of this study was observational analytic use Cross Sectional approach. The population in this study were women who married in 2022 in Dau District of Malang Regency, amount 511 women and the sample were 60 women. The independent variables in this study are education, family income, surrounding cultural beliefs, peers, knowledge, attitudes and mass media, while the dependent variable is early marriage. Data analysis of the results of this study used bivariate analysis with Chi-Square statistical test and multivariate analysis with logistic regression test. The results of the study showed that there was associated between variables of education (p value 0.00), peers (p-value 0.008), and attitude (p value 0.023) with the incidence of early marriage and the most variable affecting incidence of early marriage is education.

SOCIAL DETERMINANTS OF HEALTH ASSOCIATED WITH 30-DAY REHOSPITALIZATION BY USING DISCHARGE SUMMARIES

Abstract Background There has been increasing interest in the use of Social Determinants of Health (SDOH) in cardiovascular disease outcomes by reducing health disparities. For example, Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services will require the hospitals reporting five SDOH components (housing, intimate partner violence, utilities, food insecurity and transportation insecurity) in 2025. There is limited evidence which SDOH components are associated with 30-day rehospitalization in HF patients who were in the ICU. Objective: To assess associations between the SDOH and 30-day rehospitalization in HF patients who were in the ICU by using the Medical Information Mart for Intensive Care III (MIMIC-III) data. Methods We identified HF patients by using ICD-9 codes related to HF from the MIMIC-III data that is de-identified and is publicly available. We used python to extract SDOH features from discharge summaries and used Chi-square statistical test (whether or not keyword is contained in discharge summaries vs whether or not HF patients have 30-day hospital rehospitalization). Results Mean age was 71 (± 14.2), 53% were male, and 73% were white. In particular, keyword “daughter” contributes to the 30-day rehospsitalization. It is unclear how daughter contributes 30-day rehospitalization but “daughter can be one of the SDOH components as social support. Conclusion It is difficult to identify how “daughter” is related to 30-day rehospitalization. We will utilize natural language processing models to analyzing the real-world social meaning of SDOH keywords to understand the correlation (e.g. the “daughter” reflecting patients have daughter accompany or other status).

Urine lipoarabinomannan levels in pulmonary tuberculosis with and without HIV coinfection

Background. Pulmonary tuberculosis (TB) is an opportunistic infection that occurs more frequently in individuals with weakened immune systems, such as those with Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV). Diagnosing pulmonary TB in HIV patients can be particularly challenging. One alternative diagnostic method for TB involves detecting TB antigens through the lipoarabinomannan (LAM) test using urine samples. The aim of this study was to perform a comparative analysis of urinary LAM levels in pulmonary TB patients with and without HIV co-infection. Methods. This study was an analytical observational study with a cross-sectional design, conducted on all adult pulmonary TB patients aged 18 years and older, with and without HIV co-infection. A chi-square statistical test was used, with a significance level of p &lt;0.05. Results. Data analysis was performed on 72 subjects with pulmonary TB, with 36 subjects in each group (with and without HIV co-infection). A comparative analysis of urinary LAM levels showed that pulmonary TB co-infected with HIV had a higher number of positive LAM cases (14 subjects, 19.44%) compared to pulmonary TB without HIV co-infection (5 subjects, 6.94%), with a p-value of 0.016, indicating a significant difference. Conclusion. The detection of urinary LAM levels in pulmonary TB patients co-infected with HIV showed positive results that were 3.945 times higher than in pulmonary TB patients without HIV co-infection.

The impact of socioeconomic status, feeding patterns, and age on eligibility for discharging medical patients

Aims: The study investigates the influence of socioeconomic, age, and nutritional status on discharge eligibility in older adults, focusing on recovery. Understanding discharge time based on patient criteria can aid in managing hospital policies and achieving optimal patient outcomes. Methods: This retrospective observational research focuses on hospitalized individuals aged 65 and above at King Hussein Medical Centre in Amman, Jordan. The study adheres to Helsinki guidelines and focuses on demographic data, nutritional information, and socioeconomic statuses. Patients were categorized into two age groups: those over 75 years and those aged 65 to 75 years. The study used subjective global evaluation and resource-based metrics to evaluate nutritional condition and socioeconomic status. Lower nutritional statuses were classified as malnourished patients, while higher nutritional levels were classified as normal nourishment. Patients were divided into two groups based on their length of hospital stay (HLOS), with the latter being geriatric patients with an overall HLOS of 7 days or more. The study used serial binary logistic regression analyses to examine the association between prognostic factors, dietary patterns, and age, and the propensity for early discharge. The results were analyzed using chi-square statistical tests and 95% confidence ranges. Results: A retrospective observational study found that 23.56% of geriatric patients admitted had hospitality days stay of less than one week, while 76.44% had longer admission stay days. Gender disparities were significant, with more men in Group II (longer admission stay days) than in Group I (shorter stay days). Longer admission days had greater distribution rates for patients aged ≥75 years, while shorter hospital stays were higher for younger patients. Hospital length of stay varied significantly among groups for patients with body mass indices (BMIs &gt; 30 kg/m²). The majority of medically hospitalized patients had a BMI of less than 30 kg/m². No significant differences were found between the two admission days comparative groups when assessing socioeconomic statuses. Conclusion: Our statistical analyses revealed a significant regressional association regarding patients ageing against the propensity for extended HLOS (0.983±0.192, p-value=0.000) but insignificant for socioeconomical and nutritional statuses at admission (0.129±0.201, p-value=0.521) and (-0.143±0.201, p-value=0.478), respectively, with an estimate propensity ratios of 2.672 (95% CI; 1.834-3.892), 1.138 (95% CI; 0.767-1.688), and 0.867 (95% CI; 0.584-1.286), respectively.

Risk Factors Associated with Pediatric Asthma Hospitalization: A Retrospective Case-Control Study

Objective: To evaluate the risk factors associated with asthma in children hospitalized at Hospital Belen de Trujillo. Materials and methods: An analytical study of retrospective cases and controls was carried out in which 258 clinical histories of children between 5 to 14 years of age who were hospitalized in the Hospital Belen de Trujillo (HBT) during the period 2015-2019 were included, which were grouped into 129 histories of children who had been hospitalized for asthma (cases) and 129 histories of children hospitalized for a different cause (controls). The frequency distribution will be calculated, the Chi-square statistical test will be used, the odds ratio will be obtained and the 95% confidence interval will be calculated; finally, a multivariate analysis will be performed by means of logistic regression to determine whether the influence of other variables generates a greater risk of developing asthma in children. Results: The multivariate analysis showed that the factors: cesarean delivery, non-exclusive breastfeeding, history of bronchiolitis, obesity and maternal age together predict 92. 0% of the cases of asthma; however, taking the influence of all the factors at the same time, it was found that the cesarean delivery route, non-exclusive breastfeeding, obesity and maternal age are significant for the regression (p&lt;0.05), while the factor history of bronchiolitis is not significant (p&gt;0.05). Likewise, when the bivariate analysis of the five variables studied was performed and the Chi-square test was applied, it was found that all five factors were significant (p&lt;0.05) for asthma in children at Hospital Belen de Trujillo. Conclusion: The factors cesarean delivery route, non-exclusive breastfeeding, history of bronchiolitis, obesity and maternal age are associated with asthma in children hospitalized at HBT.

Analisis Faktor yang Mempengaruhi Kejadian Hipertensi pada Lansia di Desa Bambu

Hypertension has become a major issue not only in Indonesia but also globally, as it is one of the risk factors for non-communicable diseases such as kidney failure, diabetes, stroke, and heart disease. Hypertension particularly affects the elderly, whose bodies become weaker due to a compromised immune system, making them more susceptible to diseases, environmental changes, loss of agility and mobility, and physiological changes. The purpose of this study is to identify the factors influencing the occurrence of hypertension among the elderly in Bambu Village. The research employs a quantitative method with a descriptive correlational approach and a cross-sectional design. A total of 65 respondents were sampled using area sampling techniques. The Chi-square statistical test was used to determine the p-value. The instruments used in this study included a closed-question questionnaire and a needle-based blood pressure monitor (aneroid) with the OneMed brand. The results showed that poor physical activity was observed in 44 respondents (67.7%) with a p-value of 0.037, non-smoking behavior was found in 59 respondents (90.8%) with a p-value of 0.379, good dietary patterns were identified in 61 respondents (93.8%) with a p-value of 0.305, and good coffee consumption habits were noted in 49 respondents (75.4%) with a p-value of 0.383. Additionally, mild hypertension was found in the majority, affecting 27 respondents (41.5%). There is a significant relationship between physical activity and the occurrence of hypertension among the elderly in Bambu Village. Interventions for the elderly and health education on the importance of blood pressure control and healthy lifestyles are necessary.

Factors affecting self-care behaviours of ulcer prevention and glycemic control among diabetes mellitus patients at type A hospital in Yogyakarta

Background: One of the most detrimental complications of diabetic foot ulcers is largely influenced by glucose levels. To prevent diabetes-related complications and injuries, diabetic patients have to possess all the knowledge and behaviours required to perform regular self-care. Objective: This study aimed to identify factors that influence the behaviour of diabetic patients to prevent diabetic foot ulcers. Method: The study design was a cross-sectional survey of 57 outpatients with all criteria. The self-care knowledge and behaviour were measured by filling out questionnaires. A chi-square statistical test and multiple logistic regression were used to assess the magnitude of the predictor variables in behaviour and glycemic control. Moreover, difference tests were performed to assess differences between groups according to the level of behaviour. Result: Out of 57 participants, 29 patients were having poor self-care behaviour. Of the 28 patients with uncontrolled glycemic, 12 had poor behaviour. The knowledge scores between poor and moderate behaviour showed a statistically significant difference (p = 0.046). Knowledge had a 2-fold impact on behaviour (p = 0.025). Additionally, the type (p = 0.011) and the number (p = 0.040) of anti-diabetic medications in prescriptions affected glycemic control. Conclusion: Knowledge and behaviour of foot self-care and glycemic control are the key preventive factors.

Polymorphisms in nanog are associated with oral leukoplakia: case-control study.

To investigate the association of NANOG polymorphisms with oral leukoplakia. In this case-control study, 68 cases of oral leukoplakia, and 21 of normal oral mucosa (control) were submitted to genotyping of tagSNPs polymorphisms: rs877716 and rs10845877 in NANOG, through real-time polymerase chain reaction (PCR). Pearson's chi-squared and Fisher's exact statistical tests were used, with a significance of 5%. For the dominant genetic model of the G allele of rs877716, the genotypes AG + GG revealed higher frequency in subjects in the oral leukoplakia group than in control subjects (75,4 and 50% respectively; p = 0,031). Subjects with this genotype were 3,063 times more likely to develop oral leukoplakia compared to subjects with AA. In the allelic genetic model, for rs10845877, the C allele was more frequent in subjects with leukoplakia than in control subjects (25 and 7, 5% respectively; p = 0, 01). There was no association found in the other genetic models. Polymorphisms in NANOG are associated with oral leukoplakia.

CORPORATE CULTURE AND EMPLOYEE RETENTION IN SELECTED FOOD AND BEVERAGES COMPANIES IN ADO ODO OTA L.G.A OF OGUN STATE

This study examined the relationship between corporate culture and employee retention using food and beverage companies in Ado-Odo-Ota L.G.A of Ogun State. The three selected companies used were Nigeria Distilleries Limited, Intercontinental Distilleries Limited and Nigeria Breweries. This study used a survey research design. The random sampling was used in this investigation to gather data. The sample frame of the employees in the selected food and beverages company population were drawn using Taro Yamane formula 203 copies of the questionnaire were administered of which 200 of them analysable which provided the basis for data presentation. Data collected were analysed using both descriptive and inferential statistics chi-square test at p &gt; 0.05. The study through means score and standard deviation as well as regression analysis found out that there is a significant relationship between teamwork between corporate culture and employee retention in selected food and beverages companies in Ado Odo Ota L.G.A of Ogun state, Nigeria, (corporate culture mean = 52.4620; standard deviation = 7.84089; teamwork behaviour mean = 118.3266; standard deviation = 21.70366). The result also revealed that Communication is significant and contributed to employee job retention. Communication (B = .132; t = 3.941; p &lt; .05). Reward and recognition also determine Employee job retention (F2,1144 = 69.201; p &lt; .05) and Training and development also contributed to employee retention in selected food and beverages companies in Ado Odo Ota L.G.A of Ogun state, Nigeria (Beta = .122; t = 3.701; p &lt; 0.05). The study concluded that corporate culture has a significant and positive influence on employee retention and recommended that organisational structure, i.e. a Matrix structure, be reviewed to allow for a more flexible and less bureaucratic culture. Also, rules and processes should be adaptable enough to allow for employee input and creativity. More crucially, among other things, corporations may actively promote engagement in particular elements of their responsibilities.

Analisis Marketing Mix 7P terhadap Minat Kunjungan Ulang Pasien di Klinik Khasanah Medika dan Baitul Syifa Tahun 2024

Number of repeat visits from old patients in 2023 at the Baitul Syifa Clinic is 74%, while at the Khasanah Medika Clinic ber of patient visits has an impact on low clinic income, so that Marketing Mix 7P can be used as an appropriate marketing strategy to increase patient interest in repeat visits. The purpose of this research analyze influence Marketing Mix 7P on interest in re-visiting patients at the Baitul Syifa Clinic and Khasanah Medika Clinic and analyzing the variabels that have the most dominant influence on interest in re-visiting patients. This type of research is quantitative research by design cross sectional. Sampling technique with Purposive sampling. The subjects of this research were outpatients at the Baitul Syifa Clinic and Khasanah Medika Clinic. The number of samples in this study was 100 patients from each clinic. The research instrument uses a questionnaire with statistical tests chi square. The research results stated that Marketing Mix 7P has a significant effect on interest in repeat visits by Baitul Syifa clinic patients, including variabels Product with a value of 81% (p=0,000), Price with a value of 79% (p=0,000), Promotion with a value of 78% (p=0,000), Place with a value of 80% (p=0,000), People (p=0,000), Process with a value of 80% (p=0,000), and Physical Evidence with a value of 78% (p=0.000), whereas Marketing Mix at the Khasanah Medika clinic which consists of Product with a value of 80% (p=0,000), Price with a value of 80% (p=0,000), and Place with a value of 78% (p=0.000) has a significant effect on patient interest in repeat visits, other variabels, namely Promotion with a value of 43% (p=0,909), People with a value of 67% (p=0,970), Process with a value of 68% (p=0,268), and Physical Evidence with a value of 48% (p=0.983).

Eating habits and physical activity in patients with colorectal cancer in a city of Mato Grosso

Colorectal cancer has been the cause of death in men and women before the age of 50. It is known that tumor development is influenced by several factors, such as obesity, diabetes, physical inactivity and bad eating habits. The present study aimed to analyze the daily habits of patients with colorectal cancer in a local hospital. The study was longitudinal and descriptive with participants diagnosed between 2019 and 2023 with tumors in the colon and rectum that were not derived from metastasis. Using questionnaires, based on the "Food Guide: how to have a Healthy Diet" from the Ministry of Health (Brazil), adding questions about practicing physical activity. The data on weight and height was extracted from medical records, and Body Mass Index (BMI) divided patients into two groups: control group (BMI between 18.6 kg/m2 and 24.9 kg/m2) and overweight/obese (BMI ≥ 25 kg/m2). The data were arranged as relative and absolute frequencies and analyzed using the GraphPad Prism® 8 program using the chi-square (χ2) statistical test with a minimum acceptable significance level of p &lt; 0.05. According to the results, it was noted that most participants need to pay attention to their eating habits according to the instrument score and daily physical activity and that a very small portion have a considerably healthy lifestyle.

The Effect of Acupressure on Pain Associated with Chest Tube Removal in Patients with Chest Trauma

Background: Inserting a chest tube is a life-saving procedure for patients with chest trauma, but it is often associated with significant pain. To alleviate this discomfort, non-pharmacological methods such as acupressure can be employed. Therefore, this study aimed to determine the effect of acupressure on pain during chest tube removal in patients with thoracic trauma. Methods: This quasi-experimental study involved the selection of 204 patients with chest tubes following chest trauma in Zahedan in 2022. The through patients were selected purposefully and Non-random allocation divided into two intervention and control groups of 102 people. The intervention group received acupressure treatment, while the control group did not. Pain levels of the patients were measured using a pain intensity scale on both the day of chest tube insertion and the day of removal. The data were analyzed using statistical test such as independent-t, paired-t and chi-square statistical tests within the SPSS 26 software. Results: The normality of the main variable was assessed using the Kolmogorov-Smirnov (KS) test. The significance level for the pain variable was found to be less than 0.05 (P&lt;0.001), indicating a non-normal distribution. Therefore, the Mann-Whitney U test was utilized for data analysis. The results of the Mann-Whitney test revealed that before the intervention, the mean pain scores were 9.46±0.69 in the intervention group and 9.47±0.65 in the control group. After the intervention, the mean pain scores were 7.11±0.98 in the intervention group and 9.39±0.90 in the control group. Based on the Mann-Whitney U value obtained from the comparison of the two groups before and after the intervention, it can be concluded that the intervention had a significant effect on reducing pain (Table 2). Conclusion: The insertion and removal of chest tube after trauma can be an extremely painful experiences for individuals. Considering the crucial role of nurses, non-pharmacological methods such as acupressure can be used to alleviate their pain. Acupressure is a cost-effective, accessible, and readily available approach that can be utilized in this context.

Oral Mucositis in Children with Cancer in Southeast of Iran: A Single Center Study

Background: Oral mucositis is a significant side effect in patients undergoing chemotherapy or radiotherapy, particularly in pediatric oncology. Objectives: This study aimed to investigate the prevalence of chemotherapy-induced oral mucositis and its associated factors in children with malignancies. Methods: This descriptive, prospective study included 100 children under 16 years of age with lymphohematopoietic malignancies, solid tumors, or central nervous system tumors admitted to the pediatric oncology department due to mucositis. Patients were categorized into three age groups: Zero - 5 years, 6 - 10 years, and 11 - 16 years. Data collected included demographic details such as age, sex, type of malignancy, and mucositis severity. The chi-square statistical test was used for data analysis. Results: The average age of participants was 7.84 ± 3.93 years. Sixty-one percent of the patients were boys, and 39% were girls. The age group 0 - 5 years had the highest prevalence of mucositis, while the 11 - 16 years age group had the lowest. The majority of mucositis cases (64%) were observed in children with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL), followed by acute myeloblastic leukemia (AML) patients (12%), and other malignancies (24%). Grade II mucositis was the most common, affecting 34% of patients, while grade IV mucositis was the least common, affecting 13% of patients. Conclusions: Chemotherapy-induced oral mucositis was most prevalent among children with acute leukemia, constituting three-quarters of the cases. Grade II mucositis was the most frequently observed severity level, while grade IV mucositis was the least frequent. These findings underscore the need for targeted strategies to manage and prevent mucositis, particularly in high-risk groups like pediatric leukemia patients.

KNOWLEDGE AND ATTITUDES OF PROSPECTIVE BRIDES AND GROOMS TOWARDS PREMARITAL SCREENING BEHAVIOR AT KUA PURWASARI KARAWANG DISTRICT IN 2023

Background: In other countries, premarital screening has become a mandatory requirement for couples who are getting married. This is because not everyone has a good health history. A person who appears healthy may be a carrier of the disease. Writing purpose: To find out the knowledge and attitudes of prospective brides and grooms towards premarital screening behavior at the KUA Purwasari Karawang District in 2023. Research Method: This research uses a quantitative type of research using a descriptive design with a cross-sectional study approach. The sample in this study amounted to 105 people, chi-square statistical analysis test. Research Results: There is an influence of knowledge (p value=0.009) and attitude (p value=0.001) on premarital screening behavior. The dominant factor that has the most influence is attitude with a p-value = 0.001 and an exp (B) value of 3.843. Conclusions and Suggestions: It is hoped that prospective brides and grooms can increase their knowledge by actively seeking information about wedding preparations, especially health problems and diseases that can be inherited so that awareness of the importance of premarital screening arises which is useful for preventing and overcoming health problems in the future.

HUBUNGAN ASUPAN MAKAN, PERSEPSI CITRA TUBUH, DAN PERILAKU PENGENDALIAN BERAT BADAN DENGAN STATUS GIZI GURU DI PERGURUAN MUHAMMADIYAH RAWAMANGUN

Overnutrition is one of the most common nutritional problems in the adult age group. Overnutrition among working adults can harm productivity at work. This is because excess nutritional status can cause various non-communicable diseases such as type 2 diabetes mellitus, coronary heart disease, and cancer. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between food intake, body image perception, and weight control behavior with nutritional status at the Muhammadiyah College of Rawamangun. The research was conducted in August 2023, involving 61 teachers. The research method used is quantitative research with a cross-sectional design and total sampling method for sample selection. Data was analyzed using the Chi-Square statistical test. Dietary intake was measured using a 2x24-hour recall method, body image perception and weight control behavior were assessed using Body Shape Questionnaire (BSQ) Short Version also waist circumference, body weight and height were measured using anthropometric measurements. The results of data analysis indicate a significant relationship between energy intake, protein intake, fat intake, carbohydrate intake, body image perception, and weight control behavior with nutritional status based on BMI and waist circumference (P&lt;0.05). However, no significant relationship was found between body image perception and weight control behavior with nutritional status based on waist circumference (p&gt;0.05). In conclusion, there were significant relationship between energy intake, protein intake, fat intake, carbohydrate intake, body image perception, and weight control behavior with nutritional status based on BMI and waist circumference.

THE RELATIONSHIP OF MOTHER'S PARENTING PATTERNS WITH THENUTRITIONAL STATUS OF TODDLER AGES 24-60 MONTHS AT POSYANDU SEKUPANG, BATAM CITY, 2024

Based on the preliminary survey results conducted by the research at the Sekupang community health center, there were 87 patients with nutritional deficiencies in 2023. The aim of this study is to determine the relationship between maternal parenting patterns and the occurrence of nutritional status at the Harapan Ibu integrated health service post in Sekupang in 2024. The independent variable in this study is maternal parenting style, while the dependent variable is nutritional status. The design used in this research is quantitative with a cross-sectional approach aimed at examining the relationship between the independent and dependent variables at the same time, and the sampling technique employed is total sampling. The population in this study consists of mothers with toddlers aged 24-60 months who are at the Harapan Ibu Posyandu in Sekupang, Batam City, totaling 45 mothers with toddlers, and the research was conducted in July 2024. Data collection tools using questionnaires on maternal parenting styles and nutritional status through anthropometric measurements. Analyze the data using the chi-square statistical test. The research results obtained 45 respondents, of which 5 (11.1%) experienced good maternal parenting, 7 (15.6%) experienced adequate parenting, and 33 (73.3%) experienced poor maternal parenting. Additionally, 32 respondents (71.1%) experienced malnutrition, 12 (26.7%) had good nutrition, and 1 (2.2%) experienced overnutrition. The research findings indicate a significant relationship between maternal parenting and the nutritional status of toddlers, with a p-value of 0.000 &lt; 0.005, thus the null hypothesis is rejected, meaning there is a relationship between maternal parenting and the nutritional status of children aged 24-60 months at the Harapan Ibu posyandu. It is recommended that research sites provide education to mothers about what maternal parenting patterns are and the nutritional status of toddlers.
