Study on the Path of Intercultural Communication of Television DramaTake Queen of Tears as an Example

Korean film and television dramas are one of the important carriers of intercultural communication in Korean culture. The study of the reasons for the popularity of Korean dramas from the perspective of intercultural communication has received extensive attention, but there is still a lack of in-depth research on the latest explosive Korean dramas. This paper will take the Korean drama Queen of Tears, which exploded in the first half of 2024, as a sample to analyze the reasons for the popularity of the Korean drama Queen of Tears in China under the cross-cultural communication path. The paper analyses that the popularity of Queen of Tears is inextricably linked to the interplay of casting, plot, filming, and production. Based on this, this essay proposes that domestic TV dramas should pay attention to character suitability in casting, rich and diversified plots, and character settings, and focus on short-video marketing and other suggestions, hoping to shed some light on the production of domestic TV dramas, to promote the export of Chinese culture to foreign countries.

“Silk Road Utopia”: The Construction of National Image along the Belt and Road Initiative by Chinese Travel Variety Shows—— Taking Divas Hit The Road Season V as an Example

The news documentary Divas Hit The Road Season V, jointly produced by Hunan Radio and Television News Center and Mango TV, was broadcast, which showed the stories of young people and locals in countries along the Belt and Road Initiative and China. Based on the theory of space production, this paper analyses the construction of the national image of the Silk Road countries by the program. It was found that the program produced the Silk Road countries into a utopian national image through character setting, visual aesthetics and scene creation. “Silk Road Utopia” includes its culture, life and international relations. However, it should also be pointed out that the national image presented by the program is a filtered national image.

FinMem: A Performance-Enhanced LLM Trading Agent with Layered Memory and Character Design

Recent advancements in Large Language Models (LLMs) have exhibited notable efficacy in question-answering (QA) tasks across diverse domains. Their prowess in integrating extensive web knowledge has fueled interest in developing LLM-based autonomous agents. While LLMs are efficient in decoding human instructions and deriving solutions by holistically processing historical inputs, transitioning to purpose-driven agents requires a supplementary rational architecture to process multi-source information, establish reasoning chains, and prioritize critical tasks. Addressing this, we introduce FinMem, a novel LLM-based agent framework devised for financial decision-making. It encompasses three core modules: Profiling, to customize the agent's characteristics; Memory, with layered message processing, to aid the agent in assimilating hierarchical financial data; and Decision-making, to convert insights gained from memories into investment decisions. Notably, FinMem's memory module aligns closely with the cognitive structure of human traders, offering robust interpretability and real-time tuning. Its adjustable cognitive span allows for the retention of critical information beyond human perceptual limits, thereby enhancing trading outcomes. This framework enables the agent to self-evolve its professional knowledge, react agilely to new investment cues, and continuously refine trading decisions in the volatile financial environment. We first compare FinMem with various algorithmic agents on a scalable real-world financial dataset, underscoring its leading trading performance in stocks. We then fine-tuned the agent's perceptual span and character setting to achieve a significantly enhanced trading performance. Collectively, FinMem presents a cutting-edge LLM agent framework for automated trading, boosting cumulative investment returns.

Exploring the Artistic Features in Turgenev’s Fiction

Abstract This paper delves into the essence of the linguistic aesthetics employed in Turgenev’s fiction, with its finite intertextual implications and infinite extratextual connotation, to illuminate the beauty of implication and connotation in the art universe created by Turgenev. This paper introduces for the first time Turgenev as a master of the “halftones” technique. In his works, absolutes and extremes are absent while description of objects, scenes and emotions, character settings and even internal conflicts are all painted in “halftones”. Turgenev’s writing consistently reflects the beauty of opposition and contrast, versus collaboration and harmony. This paper uses intertextual implications and “halftones” to assess the artistic value of Turgenev’s fiction.

Effects and Implications of Self-discovery Writing for Creative Activities of College Students: Focusing on Writing Across the Curriculum (WAC) Subjects

The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of self-discovery writing on broadcasting, video, and media majors through creative activities, and to derive educational implications accordingly. The self-reflection writing presented in the <Visual Storytelling> class went through a total of three stages based on the structural format of the three acts of video studied by Syd Field in the United States. As a result of analyzing the types of the virtual character settings that appeared in the creative output of a total of 34 learners, I was able summarize them into three types: 1) a type that reflects two or more 2) a type that shows human duality 3) a type that projects oneself as another being. As a result, Ifound that self-discovery writing plays a very important role in the development of learners' creativity along with self-reflection. In addition, this study confirmed the idea that a work which begins with ‘I’ is directly connected to rich material and that ‘self-discovery’ is highly likely to expand into voluntary learning through the integrated development of the concepts covered in the class. The educational implications of this include the re-examination of educational content through learner understanding, the development of convergence education in connection with major subjects, and the introduction of writing as a qualitative means for sincere learning. Currently, AI learning-based writing research is being actively conducted, but ‘self’ learning is as of yet an exclusively human domain, and self-discovery learning through self-exploration needs to be used in various subjects.

The Application of Non-language Symbols in Japanese Games from the Perspective of Cross Cultural Communication--Take”Animal Crossing” as an Example

In cross-cultural communication in electronic games, non-language symbols’ application scope and methods are very diverse. Studying the design and application of non-language symbols in Japanese games in cross-cultural communication can assist Chinese games in going global and contribute to the dissemination of excellent traditional Chinese culture. This article takes “Animal Crossing” as an example to analyze how nonverbal symbols are used in cross-cultural communication from scene, character, and plot setting. Finding that non-language symbols in the game assist language symbols, integrate players’ feelings, shape a complete scene, and promote cultural exchanges. It is concluded that Chinese games can build a perfect non-language symbol system from three aspects: digging deeply into the culture with national characteristics, looking for universal non-language symbols, and using non-language symbols from multiple perspectives so as to achieve the goal of cross-cultural communication.

만화자료 활용을 통한 지역 민주의거 교육의 확산 전략 제언

In this study, we analyzed the narrative strategy and expression method of the learning cartoon 『Fireworks』, which was planned and published by the 3‧8 Democratic Movement Commemorative Association, and present a strategy to spread local democratic uprising education. Because of the functional characteristics of comics that allow them to be visually communicated easily and quickly, various learning materials are reproduced as comic content and are widely used in educational settings and textbooks. In addition, cartoon content has the advantage of not only stimulating learners' imagination, but also arousing interest in learners by utilizing various visual effects. 『Fireworks』depicts in an easy-to-understand manner the development process of the Daejeon March 8 Democratic Uprising, which became the beginning of the April 19 Revolution. Above all, this work guarantees sufficient objectivity because it was published by the 3‧8 Democratic Movement Association with support from Daejeon Metropolitan City. Of course, due to the nature of being a cartoon, there may be some elements of the author's imagination, but as a result of cross-examination and testimony of the participants at the time, it is largely based on reality. The publication of 『Fireworks』is very meaningful because it depicts the democratic uprising unique to the Daejeon region in a realistic manner, guaranteeing objectivity. In particular, the transformation of fictional and real people in the character settings stands out. This is especially true considering that the democratization movement is not the exclusive property of specific individuals or groups, but is the product of everyone who lived at that time. In addition, this work reveals relatively clearly the background of the rebellion and the core of the development process by date around March 8, 1960. It is believed that these characteristics can sufficiently contribute to making it easier for 『Fireworks』to publicize the 3‧8 Democratic Movement and educate people about the contents of the uprising. This work is a learning cartoon directly planned and published by the 3‧8 Democratic Movement Memorial Association (incorporated association) with support from Daejeon Metropolitan City. Accordingly, there is a need to establish a concrete plan to distribute the learning comic 『Fireworks』to schools through cooperation between the Daejeon Office of Education and the March 8th Memorial Project Association.

Stigmatodon medeirosii, a new hyperepilithic bromeliad (Tillandsioideae) from granitic inselbergs of Minas Gerais, Brazil

Stigmatodon medeirosii (Bromeliaceae, Tillandsioideae), a new hyperepilithic species, restricted to vertical rock walls of the inselbergs of eastern Minas Gerais, in the medium Rio Doce River basin, southeastern Brazil, is described and illustrated. Diagnostic characters and affinities of the new species are discussed, accompanied by notes on its ecology, geographic distribution, and conservation status. The new species is most similar to S. fontellanus and S. lemeanus from Espírito Santo state but distinguished by a set of vegetative and reproductive characters. Following the criteria of the IUCN Red List, S. medeirosii is to be assessed as Vulnerable (VU), reinforcing the need for attention to the conservation of inselbergs and associated vegetation in eastern Minas Gerais.

Oblatopyrochroabellula, an enigmatic new genus and species of Pyrochroinae (Coleoptera, Pyrochroidae) from Xizang, China.

Oblatopyrochroabellula, a new genus and species of Pyrochroinae Latreille, 1807 from Xizang, China, is described and illustrated. The antennae, cranial apparatus, and genitalia of the new genus form a truly unique set of characters not observed in any other pyrochroid genus. The taxonomic position and phylogenetic relationships of Oblatopyrochroagen. nov. are also discussed but appear difficult to resolve.

Geographical-artistic horizons between the past and the future

Reflections are increasingly manifested in the field of research and teaching. This suggests a playful and vivid character and risk setting in motion the exercise of deconstructing a geographical science more attuned to the rules and normative standards that imprison its arts. Therefore, the choice of the title of the article refers to horizons in the plural, a word that reports to varied future possibilities and directions, capable of affirming a creative and original geographical science art. Art is fundamental for the creation of other realities by the creative inspirations that spring from it and allows geography to reorganize theoretically–methodologically, in its close relationship, with and in the world.

Nothing to it: a reply to Wheeler's "much ado about nothing".

Wheeler (Cladistics 2023, 39, 475) recently suggested that the issues with inapplicable characters in phylogenetic analysis can be dealt with directly by treating observed absences of a feature not in a separate absence/presence character but as insertion/deletion events in a complex character that describes the feature in all its variation; and that this dynamic homology view can be achieved by imposing a sequence or linear order on a set of characters and by analysing the resulting sequence character using custom alphabet tree alignment algorithms. As Wheeler observed, this approach can lead to considering inappropriate character states (such as a head state and a foot state) homologous. We show that it is also sensitive to the specific ordering assumption used and that such different character orders can lead to a preference for different trees. We present a simple four-taxon dataset with observations of absence, but no inapplicable characters or other kinds of character dependence, for which the dynamic homology framework gives different results to classic algorithms for independent characters, including an optimal tree with biologically impossible reconstructions at inner nodes (every terminal has a head but the inner nodes are headless). We show how these issues can be solved by removing the character ordering assumption that the approach requires. Doing so, the dynamic homology framework reduces in general to Maddison's (Syst. Biol. 1993, 42, 576) well-known proposal to deal with inapplicability using step matrix analysis of complex characters. If in addition costs are interpreted in terms of homology, it reduces to Goloboff et al.'s (Cladistics 2021, 37, 596) step matrix implementation for maximization of homology as applied to inapplicable characters. However, if used with homogeneous costs, as Wheeler suggested, it reduces to unordered analysis of such complex characters, which is known to treat tails that may share many observed features as irrelevant for establishing kinship when they differ in just one feature, e.g. colour.

E-Comic Based on SETS: A Digital Learning Media to Improve Student’s Character and Critical Thinking Skills

This research aims to test the feasibility and effectiveness of electronic science comic learning media based on character education and SETS in improving students' character and critical thinking skills. This research is development research oriented towards testing product effectiveness. The data collection methods employed in this study included observation, tests, and questionnaires. The research findings indicate that, 1) the feasibility of SETS-based e-comics is measured through expert assessments of media and materials with the criteria of a very viable product; 2) The average gain test results show that SETS-based science electronic comic media is effective in improving students' character moderately by 5,04 and students' critical thinking abilities with a score of 4,03 are included in the medium category. This can be interpreted as saying that the use of SETS-based science e-comics is able to improve student behavior and influence students to be more enthusiastic and broad-minded to actively ask scientific questions.

Eulerian character degree graphs of solvable groups

Let G be a finite group, let Irr(G) be the set of all complex irreducible characters of G and let cd(G) be the set of all degrees of characters in Irr ( G ) . Let ρ ( G ) be the set of all primes that divide some degrees in cd ( G ) . The character degree graph Δ ( G ) of G is the simple undirected graph with vertex set ρ ( G ) and in which two distinct vertices p and q are adjacent if there exists a character degree r ∈ cd ( G ) such that r is divisible by the product pq. In this paper we obtain a necessary condition for the character degree graph Δ ( G ) of a solvable group G to be eulerian. We also prove that every n – 2 regular graph on n vertices where n is even and n ≥ 4 is the character degree graph of some solvable group. In the last part of the paper we give a bound for the number of Eulerian character degree graphs in terms of number of vertices.

Adopsi Generator Kunci Euler Number dan Pembangkit Kunci Blum Blum Shub untuk Meningkatkan Confidentiality Level pada Extended Vigenere

The Vigenere algorithm is an encryption model that is still being developed in the field of information security today. One aspect that is considered important in the field of information security is confidentiality. The problem of achieving high message or information thresholds is very important in the field of information security. Extended Vigenere is known as an evolution of Vigenere that implements more character sets. One of Vigenere's development algorithms is to modify the key generator used. This experiment aims to test the effect of information confidentiality on the use of the Blum Blum Shub (BBS) key generator and the Euler number applied to Extended Vigenere. The BBS key generation method and Euler number are used sequentially. As a sample, short astronomical observation conversations sent via telegram with a file size of 1 KB were used. Experiments were carried out using different key lengths, namely 32-bit keys and 64-bit keys. As a measurement metric, the entropy calculation of the Extended Vigenere output is used. The results obtained are a significant increase in information confidentiality with an entropy achievement value of more than 79% of the optimum entropy

LGBTQ+ identities in the Indian audiovisual advertisements: A content analysis.

In the late 2000s, LGBTQ+ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and others) identities began to surface in Indian audiovisual marketing campaigns. By 2021, brands had produced at least 105 advertisements featuring LGBTQ+ identities. This research conducts an analysis of these campaigns, examining aspects such as their release date, featured characters, gender identity, sexual orientation, character age, narrative usage, genre, theme, and setting. The study reveals a substantial surge in advertising campaigns since 2018, with brands strategically launching them during Pride Month, Valentine's Day, and Women's Day. Characters embodying gay, lesbian, and transgender identities were most prevalent. Advertisements spotlighting gay, lesbian, or both gay and lesbian characters predominantly emphasised themes of love, featuring youthful characters and urban settings. In contrast, advertisements featuring transgender characters centred on human rights, with older characters and non-urban settings. Based on these findings, it is recommended that the number of LGBTQ+ marketing campaigns should continue to rise, diversifying character identities, ages, and settings while being released throughout the year.

Two results on character codegrees

Let [Formula: see text] be a finite group and [Formula: see text] be the set of irreducible characters of [Formula: see text]. The codegree of an irreducible character [Formula: see text] of the group [Formula: see text] is defined as [Formula: see text]. In this paper, we study two topics related to the character codegrees. The first result is related to the prime graph of character codegrees and we show that the codegree prime graphs of several classes of groups can be characterized only by graph theoretical terms. The second result is about the [Formula: see text]-parts of the codegrees and character degrees.

Flaneur: the film of the architecture of public space

We travel through public space as if our eyes were objective and camera lenses. They are our own technology. Wandering through the cities, we build a film of life through our eyes that are fixating on the retina of memory spatial constructions, environments, experiences, and a whole set of anonymous characters that give them meaning. In a certain way, we are directors and producers who work an invisible film and who, through the simple “walk around”, relaxed, focusing on the floor, raising their gaze, mentally drawing constant three-dimensionalities, we give body to these narratives of each of our daily lives.

Character formulas in category 𝒪_{𝓅}

Let O p \mathcal {O}_p denote the characteristic p > 0 p>0 version of the ordinary category O \mathcal {O} for a semisimple complex Lie algebra. In this paper we give some (formal) character formulas in O p \mathcal {O}_p . First we concentrate on the irreducible characters. Here we give explicit formulas for how to obtain all irreducible characters from the characters of the finitely many restricted simple modules as well as the characters of a small number of infinite dimensional simple modules in O p \mathcal {O}_p with specified highest weights. We next prove a strong linkage principle for Verma modules which allow us to split O p \mathcal {O}_p into a finite direct sum of linkage classes. There are corresponding translation functors and we use these to further cut down the set of irreducible characters needed for determining all others. Then we show that the twisting functors on O \mathcal {O} carry over to twisting functors on O p \mathcal {O}_p , and as an application we prove a character sum formula for Jantzen-type filtrations of Verma modules with antidominant highest weights. Finally, we record formulas relating the characters of the two kinds of tilting modules in O p \mathcal {O}_p .

Parikh’s Theorem Made Symbolic

Parikh’s Theorem is a fundamental result in automata theory with numerous applications in computer science. These include software verification (e.g. infinite-state verification, string constraints, and theory of arrays), verification of cryptographic protocols (e.g. using Horn clauses modulo equational theories) and database querying (e.g. evaluating path-queries in graph databases), among others. Parikh’s Theorem states that the letter-counting abstraction of a language recognized by finite automata or context-free grammars is definable in Linear Integer Arithmetic (a.k.a. Presburger Arithmetic). In fact, there is a linear-time algorithm computing existential Presburger formulas capturing such abstractions, which enables an efficient analysis via SMT-solvers. Unfortunately, real-world applications typically require large alphabets (e.g. Unicode, containing a ‍million of characters) — which are well-known to be not amenable to explicit treatment of the alphabets — or even worse infinite alphabets. Symbolic automata have proven in the last decade to be an effective algorithmic framework for handling large finite or even infinite alphabets. A symbolic automaton employs an effective boolean algebra, which offers a symbolic representation of character sets (i.e. in terms of predicates) and often lends itself to an exponentially more succinct representation of a language. Instead of letter-counting, Parikh’s Theorem for symbolic automata amounts to counting the number of times different predicates are satisfied by an input sequence. Unfortunately, naively applying Parikh’s Theorem from classical automata theory to symbolic automata yields existential Presburger formulas of exponential size. In this paper, we provide a new construction for Parikh’s Theorem for symbolic automata and grammars, which avoids this exponential blowup: our algorithm computes an existential formula in polynomial-time over (quantifier-free) Presburger and the base theory. In fact, our algorithm extends to the model of parametric symbolic grammars, which are one of the most expressive models of languages over infinite alphabets. We have implemented our algorithm and show it can be used to solve string constraints that are difficult to solve by existing solvers.
