Importance of Parental Teaching in Shaping Children's Islamic Character

This study explores the importance of parent teaching practices in shaping Islamic morals in children within the context of a modern society facing moral and ethical challenges. Using a quantitative approach through surveys, data were collected from 100 parents with children aged 5-12 years. The survey instrument was used to identify parent teaching practices, parents' perceptions of their impact, and factors influencing their effectiveness. The survey was then analyzed using percentages to determine the percentage level of parents' opinions. The results indicate that parental involvement, the quality of teaching materials, and consistency in teaching play crucial roles in shaping children's character. The implications of this research emphasize the importance of increasing parental involvement, diversifying teaching methods, and maintaining consistency in Islamic religious education at home. By strengthening parent teaching practices, it is hoped that children will be better equipped to face moral and ethical challenges in modern society.

Development of a Joyful Learning-Based Instructional Model in Javanese Script

Learning Javanese script is considered an outdated and boring lesson. This paradigm of boring and obsolete Javanese script lessons must be changed into a modern, interesting, and enjoyable learning experience. One way to do this is by developing a Joyful Learning-based model for Javanese language instruction. Joyful Learning is a concept of enjoyable learning. The development of a Joyful Learning-based model for Javanese language instruction is urgent and necessary because the learning model currently used by students needs to employ the principles of Joyful Learning, resulting in students feeling bored, tired, and unmotivated to learn. Additionally, Javanese language instruction is viewed as a good means to develop the character of the nation's children, as it contains values of morality and politeness. The research design used is the ADDIE Research and Development design, with the steps of analyzing, designing, developing, implementing, and evaluating. This study uniquely integrates traditional games into the Joyful Learning model. The result of the study is creating a Joyful Learning-based model for Javanese script instruction. The components of this model include the social system, reaction principles, support system, instructional and incidental impacts, and syntagmatic. The syntagmatic model of Joyful Learning-based Javanese script instruction includes an introduction, material delivery, games for writing sentences, games for reading paragraphs in Javanese script, formative assessment, and reflection. The learning model has been tested at SMPN 12 Semarang. The results of the school trial indicate that the Joyful Learning-based Javanese script instruction model is effective for learning.

Anthropomorphism as an art of storytelling: Exploring Aesthetics and Ethical Implications in Children’s Literature

Animals are extremely important to children’s books. Among other narrative functions, animals serve as essential metaphors for understanding the human animal. They provide emotional comfort, stimulate imagination, and offer a safe space for exploring complex themes, all of which contribute to children's emotional and cognitive development. Beyond their psychological appeal, animal characters in children's literature also offer significant educational value. This paper explores the aesthetics and ethical implications of anthropomorphism in Children’s Literature. Anthropomorphism is transmitted in kids through storytelling and then in the form of print media. It enhances the cognitive skills in children. The concept can be used in many ways to inculcate moral lessons in children. It teaches how to look at life. Kids learn to deal with their emotions. The paper analyses the stories of Panchatantra and Aesop’s Fables and the concept of Anthropomorphism and how it is used in children’s stories to understand and give a persona to the creatures who live alongside humans.

The development of Catholic children's faith is greatly influenced by the role of parents as role models and primary educators. In the family, parents are responsible for introducing the values ​​of Catholic faith and traditions through teaching, religious practices and constructive discussions. This research reveals that parental involvement in children's spiritual lives not only strengthens the foundations of faith, but also shapes children's character and morals. Through various methods, such as praying together, attending mass, and reading the Bible, parents can create an environment that supports the growth of faith. The research results show that children who receive strong spiritual support from their parents tend to have a higher commitment to their Catholic faith in the future. Therefore, the role of parents is very crucial in forming and maintaining their children's faith.

Education is an effective way to combat poverty, with teachers playing key roles as facilitators, motivators, and guides in the learning process. In early childhood education, particularly in Raudhatul Athfal (RA), teachers play a crucial role in instilling values of faith, independence, and good moral character in children during their golden age (0-5 years old). This research aims to empower RA teachers in Kecamatan Turen to create social media-based learning content as an innovative method to enhance student engagement.The research method employed is Participatory Action Research (PAR), involving 13 RA institutions in Kecamatan Turen, with a focus on training teachers to produce digital learning content. The findings reveal that most teachers already use digital tools in teaching, but there are still challenges in developing digital content that aligns with the cognitive development of young children. Additionally, the study emphasizes the importance of creating official social media accounts and websites for each RA, integrated into a unified platform at the district level.The outcomes of this program are expected to enhance teachers' abilities in utilizing social media as an interactive and engaging learning tool. Thus, empowering teachers to create educational digital content is key to improving the quality of education, especially for early childhood. Continuous evaluation through feedback allows for the refinement of teaching methods, fostering a more effective and creative learning environment.

Family education is also vital for shaping children's character through habits and improvisation. Support from the community and local organizations like IPSENA enhances children's learning enthusiasm. However, challenges such as teacher shortages and time management issues need to be addressed with creative solutions and community cooperation for optimal educational outcomes.

Comparison of Cultural Values in the Family, Case Study: in Indonesia and Cambodia

The unique culture of each region is realized through the instillation of cultural values ​​in the family, which shape the character and identity of each community. This process not only maintains traditions but also enriches life experiences and relationships between family members. The aim of this research is to find out what culture is like in the family environment for Indonesian society and Cambodian society. The method used in this research is qualitative using a literature-based approach. This research obtained results that with cultural development it is able to form a character that exists in a family, both children and parents. Indonesia and Cambodia are countries that are famous for their strong culture. Instilling cultural values ​​through parental advice to their children is an effective way to pass on traditions and principles of life, teach the importance of respecting culture, and shape children's character and identity so that they remain connected to the family's cultural roots. The meaning of the culture taught by parents at home to their children will be instilled and carried out every day. The culture that is used to form religious behavior is such as respecting other people's culture, respecting those who are older than us, dressing politely, parental activity plays a very important role in forming the cultural character of the family.

The process of life begins with the family, and the process is different in every family. In general, a child's personality is a reflection of the family. Having a good personality requires a long process, and requires good cooperation between members. A good personality usually starts from good habits from an early age that start from parental parenting, and along with the passage of time, good habits will become a character and become part of a child's personality. The growth of a child's character is determined by the assistance of parents through the parenting style that is given every day in their lives. The better the parenting style, the better the social growth of a child. The purpose of this study is to see how the parenting style of children and how the parenting pattern affects the social behavior of children. This research method is a quantitative type of survey. The results were found through questionnaire data on the type of parenting and children's social behavior. The type of parental parenting that is dominant in children is permissive parenting, which tends to give freedom to children.

Beraksi Learning Model : Improving Early Childhood Education Development Outcomes in Bulukumba District

Early Childhood Development is very important to shape the character, intelligence, and social skills of children that will have a significant impact on their future. The main objective of this study was to measure the effectiveness of the implementation of the BERAKSI model (playing, creative, discussing and cheerful) on aspects of child development, and to identify factors that support or inhibit the implementation of the model. The research design used a quasi-experimental approach with control and experimental groups. This study was conducted in several Early Childhood Education (ECE) in Bulukumba Regency, where the experimental class implemented the BERAKSI model, while the control class used conventional learning methods. Data collection methods included observation, interviews with teachers, and pre-tests and post-tests to measure child development before and after the implementation of the model. Statistical tests were used to analyze significant differences between the two groups. The results showed that the BERAKSI model significantly improved aspects of child development compared to conventional methods. The average growth value in the experimental group was 62.49 higher, compared to the conventional method of 44.17. This shows the effectiveness of this model in supporting overall child development. Therefore, this study explains that the BERAKSI model is effective in optimizing aspects of child growth and development in early childhood education. This model can also be adopted more widely in ECE in Indonesia. The implications of this study are the need for further training for ECE teachers to implement the BERAKSI model effectively, as well as support from the government and the community to facilitate the implementation of this model.

This article examined the underrepresentation of Black characters in children’s picture books, particularly in natural settings, and its effect on Black children’s relationship with nature. Through an analysis of four contemporary picture books, the study revealed how visual depictions challenge these exclusions and expand narratives about Black engagement with the natural world. Utilizing visual semiotics and the theory of Black Aliveness, this research underscores the transformative power of illustrations by Black artists in enriching children’s literature and advancing joy.

Model of Character Education for Early Childhood Eduwisata Ndalem Kerto through Outing Class Activities

This study examines the character education model by Eduwisata Ndalem Kerto Ponorogo through outing class activities. It examines the level of success in instilling various characters developed in Indonesia for early childhood. The research approach uses descriptive qualitative field research type. Data collection techniques are carried out by observation related to the early childhood character education model, interviews with managers, teachers and students during outing classes and documentation of outing class activities. Data analysis is done by organizing, interpreting, presenting data narratively, and drawing conclusions. The study results revealed that the early childhood character education model through outing classes at Eduwisata Dalem Kerto includes gardening activities, learning fun, interaction with livestock, and cooking fun. This outing class activity is designed for 2 hours and is guided directly by the instructor from beginning to end. The results of the character education model through outing classes effectively instil various early childhood characters from characters developed in Indonesia. It should be noted that this study is still limited to the early childhood character education model using outing classes in eduwisata. The findings of this study provide originality in the form of a character education model for early childhood through outing classes in the form of gardening, learning fun, cooking fun and livestock edu-tourism that can be used as a fun and meaningful early childhood education model. These findings provide many contributions to the enrichment of character education models, specifically character education for early childhood which is rich in stimulation that develops the character and intelligence of early childhood.

Landbaw Village is situated in Tanggamus Regency's Gisting District. This village created a Quranic Education Park to instill moral principles and Quranic education in children from a young age. A crucial venue for children's character development and formation is the Quranic Education Park (TPQ). From an early age, children are provided with the chance to study and explore the sacred book of the Quran, adhere to Islamic principles, and develop admirable qualities through this establishment. They are given a brief introduction to the Quran, helped to comprehend its lessons, and urged to live their lives in accordance with Islamic principles. The Landbaw village now offers the option to learn using the talaqqi method. With this method, there is direct communication between the between the teacher and the children.

The Role of Parents in Religious Moderation Education in Border Areas: A Case Study at MIS Nurul Yaqin Sijang

Religious moderation education plays a crucial role in shaping the character of children in the Indonesia-Malaysia border region, given the challenges of cultural and religious diversity in the area. This research aims to explore the implementation of religious moderation education in strengthening character during the digital era, with a case study at MIS Nurul Yaqin Sijang. The study employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive case study method. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation, with respondents selected using purposive sampling. The main findings indicate that parental involvement is essential in supporting religious moderation education among children. Parents are responsible not only for providing basic care but also for instilling moral values and shaping their children's character. By modeling positive behavior and speech, parents can instill a sense of respect and tolerance towards religious, ethnic, and cultural differences. This approach enables children to develop a strong understanding of religious moderation and the ability to interact positively in diverse environments. The theoretical benefits of these findings include strengthening the existing literature on the importance of parental roles in character education and religious moderation. Practically, these findings provide concrete guidance for parents and educators in implementing effective educational strategies to foster moderate attitudes in children. This research also offers practical solutions for advancing understanding in the field of education, particularly in the context of social and cultural diversity.

Analisis Perilaku Bersosialisasi Anak Di Sekolah Dasar Ditinjau Dari Perbedaan Latar Belakang Keluarga

All children are born in different environments and home environments. But one thing is certain: children need love and guidance to help them thrive in every aspect of their lives. Currently, there are many differences in children's family backgrounds that influence their socialization behavior. The reason behind this is because there are harmonious families, there are also broken homes. In the family, parents in particular play an important role in the development of a child's personality, especially in the child's daily behavior. The aim of this research is to describe children's social behavior when viewed from differences in family background. The research method used in this article is qualitative research, namely descriptive research in the form of describing/exposing the behavioral symptoms of people being observed. Researchers are the main instrument of research carried out at MI Al Awal Palembang for comprehensive data collection. This panel research was carried out in class IV at MI Al Awwal Palembang. The research results show that there are many differences in the social behavior of each child when viewed from family background. We identified two different family backgrounds, namely a harmonious family and a broken home family. So the solution that can be implemented in developing the character and social behavior of children who come from broken homes is that teachers must guide and educate children so that they can change their character from bad habits to good ones, they must try to understand children's feelings and provide advice and considerations as best as possible. Teachers must also try to bring children closer to their friends. The role of peers is no less important, because one of their roles is to provide a source of information and comparison about the world outside the family environment

Implementation of Early Childhood Character Education in Improving Students' Personality

It is important to instill student character education in every educational institution from an early age because character education has the same essence and meaning as moral education. The aim of this research is, among other things, to describe the implementation of religious, disciplined and independent character education at Al Badar Kindergarten. The research approach used in this research is a qualitative research method. Research findings show that the implementation of character formation in young students with religious, disciplined and independent elements at Al Badar Tulungagung Kindergarten is carried out through stages, program planning, integration processes, character formation and evaluation. The process of character learning in religious elements includes the habit of saying greetings, praying, praying in congregation, reading the Qur'an, and memorizing. The process of character learning in the discipline element includes time discipline and attitude discipline. The process of learning character education in the independent element is carried out by getting used to going to school alone, studying in your own class, doing your own activities, and solving your own problems. Penanaman Karakter Anak Pedesaan Melalui Kajian Dan Seni Al-Quran: Perjalanan Mahasiswa KKN Di Desa Tanjung Dalam

This article reviews the experience of students from KKN Group 10 of UINFAS Bengkulu in instilling character in children in Tanjung Dalam Village through Quranic studies, learning Arabic through songs, and writing and coloring calligraphy. This program is designed to enhance academic skills while fostering religious, creative, and cultural character in children using developmental methods and the ABC (Activity-Based Curriculum) Method. The results show significant improvements in children's participation, teaching quality, academic skills, and creativity. Support from parents and the community also played a crucial role in the program's success. This program is expected to serve as a model for other villages to adopt in order to instill character in children through engaging and educational activities.

Strategy of Religious Character Implementation for Special Needs Student at SD Langit Biru Kota Bengkulu

This article examines the strategies used by teachers in integrating religious character for children with special needs at the research location at SD Langit Biru Kota Bengkulu. The aim of this research is to present a reference/learning model for children with special needs which is still very rarely found in research on education. This happens because there are still very few schools that are serious about working on inclusive class programs. Of these few schools, SD Langit Biru, Kota Bengkulu is one of the schools that holds inclusion classes. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative with a case study approach. Data collection techniques through interviews, observation and documentation. In data analysis, content analysis is used where the results of documentation, interviews and observations are compiled, edited or interpreted .. The results of this research are: First, there are three types of needs of ABK students at SD Langit Biru, Kota Bengkulu, namely, speech delay, Grahita, and Autism. Second , there is no standard character development strategy for children with special needs. Learning strategies are adapted to the type of special needs and are stated in each individual program and according to the achievements of the phases in the independent curriculum. Third, although each has its own individual program. The four obstacles faced by teachers include a lack of knowledge about children with special needs, fluctuating parental commitment and limited facilities. Although this research is a case study in one elementary school and it is very possible that different strategies will be found in other schools, this article presents strategies and learning models in cultivating religious character for children with special needs which can be a reference in developing other learning strategies.

Peran TPQ Nurul Iman di Desa Sari Mulyo Kecamatan Sukaraja Kabupaten Seluma dalam Membentuk Generasi yang Beradab, Berakhlak, dan Berkarakter.

This research examines the role of the Nurul Iman Qur'an Education Park (TPQ) in Sari Mulyo Village in forming a civilized, moral and characterful generation. Islamic education at the elementary level, especially through non-formal institutions such as TPQ, has a crucial role in forming children's character, especially in rural areas which face limited access to formal education. TPQ Nurul Iman focuses on teaching reading and understanding the Koran as well as applying Islamic values in everyday life. This research uses a qualitative comparative approach with data collection methods in the form of direct observation and interviews with teachers and children at TPQ. The research results show that TPQ Nurul Iman not only functions as a center for religious learning but also as a center for character development. Even though it is faced with challenges such as limited facilities and teaching staff and low interest from children, TPQ still makes a significant contribution to the formation of character and morals of children in the village. This research aims to explore the contribution of TPQ in religious education and character development and provide insight for future research and implementation of non-formal education.

Hubungan Pola Aktivitas Full Day School dengan Sikap Sosial Siswa Kelas XI SMA Islam Terpadu (IT) Ar-Rahman Banjarbaru

Technological developments and advances have had a major influence on the development of morals, morals and ethics. Integrated Islamic schools that implement full day school and boarding school programs are in great demand by parents to shape children's character and avoid the negative impacts of modernization and globalization. Full day school is an education system that implements full day learning. Student activity patterns in Full day school, including academic activities, extracurricular activities and social interactions, have the potential to develop social attitudes. The aim of this research is to analyze the relationship between full day school activity patterns and the social attitudes of students at XI Integrated Islamic High School (IT) Ar-Rahman Banjarbaru. The type of research used is quantitative research with a cross-sectional design. The population of this research is class XI students of SMA IT Ar-Rahman Banjarbaru for the 2023/2024 academic year. The research sample was 32 respondents with a sampling technique using proportional random sampling. The research instrument is a questionnaire and the data analysis technique uses the chi square test. The research results show a p-value of 0.001 (p < 0.05), which means there is a significant relationship between full day school activity patterns and the social attitudes of class XI students at Ar-Rahman Banjarbaru Integrated Islamic High School (IT). The existence of a full day school system can shape students' social attitudes such as honesty, discipline, tolerance, mutual cooperation, politeness, and responsibility.

Teacher leadership in developing religious character in Muhammadiyah elementary school

The religious character dimension plays an important role in developing the character of elementary school age children as a whole. Teacher leadership is one variable that can be used to develop the religious character of elementary school age children. This research aims to explore teacher leadership in Muhammadiyah elementary schools in developing students' religious character. Researchers use qualitative research with a case study approach with observation, interviews and documentation as data collection techniques. The research subjects consisted of school principals, teachers and students at SD Muhammadiyah Macanan Sleman. The collected data was analyzed using the Miles & Huberman model of interactive inductive data analysis techniques which includes data collection, data reduction, data presentation and conclusions. To ensure the validity of the data, researchers used triangulation of sources and techniques. The research results show that teacher leadership in developing religious character at SD Muhammadiyah Macanan consists of three aspects, namely personal, team and organizational aspects. The personal aspect of teacher leadership is demonstrated by the ability to guide, mobilize, influence and communicate. The team aspect of teacher leadership is carried out by discussing and providing feedback, improving the quality of learning, training religious character, mentoring activities, and observing students' religious character. The organizational aspect of teacher leadership consists of the role of teachers in supporting school policies and programs, supporting the administrative leadership of the school principal, and efforts to maintain school sustainability. The findings of this research highlight the importance of the role of teacher leadership in developing students' religious character in Muhammadiyah elementary schools.
