Electrodes have emerged as powerful tools for sensing various physiological signals, paving the way for a new era of wearable consumer devices that offer in situ measurement and analysis. Electrodermal activity (EDA) sensors are used for evaluating autonomic nervous system activity, wherein changes in EDA are associated with physiological excitation reflecting stress, arousal, and emotional changes. The Fitbit Sense 2 and Pixel Watch 2 are two wearable commercial devices that passively measure EDA using wrist-facing electrodes powering a stress management feature. Descriptive findings of the Fitbit Sense 2 across 10 million hours of continuous EDA data collected from over 16,000 people are herein reported, including real-time population response to Thanksgiving 2022 and the 2023 Super Bowl.
