Seventeen species of mosses are reported for the first time from the Canal Zone or the Republic of Panama. The various forays were led by Theodore, Carol, or Judith Hotz or by Kenneth Vinton or Jack Rocker. In preparing the collections, the senior author was ably assisted by Karen Waigand.
