Objective To establish the rabbit model of cervical intervertibral disc herniation. Methods Normal rabbits were divided into two groups randomly. The experimental group were fixed with spring on the spinous process of C6, C7, and the control group were fixed with breaked spring. 3 months af-ter the operation ,all the specimens were engaged both in iconographic examination (X-ray, MRI) and mor-phological examination. Results In experimental group, the angle of C5/7 and the signal of disc in MRI T2 was abnormal. And under the light microscope ,the volum of nucleus pulposus was decreased and fissure was founded,and herniated posteriorly. The end-plate was increased. Conclusion The rabbit cervical in micro-stress was degenerated,formed the rabbit model of cervical intervertebral disc herniation. Key words: Micro-stress; Cervical interverbral disc; Model; animal
