He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Illinois. Since joining NAVSEC in 1965 he has taken part in the Hull Systems and Weapons Support Division Junior Engineer Training Program. Responsibilities of his present position include design and system, engineering for submersible vehicle mechanical systems, equipment jettisoning systems, underwater work tools, and submersible vehicle certification.
