THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN INTERNET ADDICTION AND LEARNING ACHIEVEMENT

Internet usage has increased sharply due to technological developments, especially since the pandemic that occurred some time ago. Limitations in meeting face to face, finally gave rise to ideas for using internet media to complete tasks or achieve certain goals both in education and work. People who are addicted to the internet show an uncontrolled life so that sufferers cannot leave the internet. Internet addiction is the inability of an individual to control their internet usage, which can cause psychological, social and work (educational) problems in the individual's life. This study aims to analyze the effect of internet addiction on learning achievement.This study is a Spearman Rank correlation study. The respondents were 100 students of Nurul Huda Kapongan Middle School. The sampling technique was purposive sampling. Data collection using an internet addiction test questionnaire with 20 question items, while for learning achievement using report card scores. The results of the study based on the hypothesis test carried out obtained p = 0.809 (> 0.05). Where these results indicate that there is no relationship between internet addiction and learning achievement

Developments in technology and science have had a big effect on life, including in the field of education. Many schools from high school, middle school, elementary school, even kindergarten or PAUD are developing themselves to provide quality learning or educational services by implementing computer-based information systems. The current problem is that the recording of report card scores as a child's development is done manually or written in a report card, this makes it difficult to find out the child's development graph. So there is a need for a system that helps facilitate the assessment of report cards and progress charts preschool children's education. The method used in this service is a descriptive research design method. Service activities in the system development process that will be proposed are the waterfall method. An integrated report card data processing information system to make things easier for PAUD schools. The information system makes things easier for students or parents in checking report scores via the website..

PENGARUH KECERDASAN EMOSIONAL TERHADAP PRESTASI BELAJAR SISWA PADA MATA PELAJARAN EKONOMI DI SMA KAPIN JAKARTA

The aim of this research is to explore the impact of emotional intelligence on students' academic achievement in economics at SMA Kapin Jakarta. A quantitative method using simple random sampling was employed, involving 52 students from grades X and XI. Data were obtained through a questionnaire assessing emotional intelligence and report card scores in economics. The results of the simple linear regression analysis indicated a significant positive influence of emotional intelligence on academic achievement, with an R² of 0.232 and a p-value less than 0.05. The dimension of self-awareness was recorded to have the highest achievement level at 80.77%, while self-regulation exhibited the lowest achievement at 52.31%. The findings of the research indicate a positive relationship between the enhancement of emotional intelligence and improved academic performance in economics. This discovery underscores the importance of strengthening emotional intelligence within the educational curriculum as a means to promote better academic achievements. The study has significant implications for the development of learning strategies that integrate emotional intelligence components at the high school level

The influence of physical fitness on self-confidence and its impact on physical education academic achievement. A study on grade V school students

Background and Study Aim. Much of the crisis in the current education system is caused by students’ low physical fitness and self-confidence. This study aims to determine the effect of physical fitness on self-confidence and its impact on the academic achievement of Physical Education of Grade V Primary School students. Materials and Methods. This research is correlational. The subjects were Class V students in elementary schools, with a sample size of 115 students (66 males, 49 females, ages 10-12) selected through random sampling. Academic achievement was measured through Physical Education report card scores, physical fitness through the Indonesian Student Fitness Test (TKSI), and physical self-confidence through a self-confidence scale. Data analysis was performed using regression techniques via SPSS 21. Results. Physical fitness positively affected self-confidence (r = 0.259, p = 0.005 < 0.05) and Physical Education academic achievement (r = 0.513, p = 0.000 < 0.05). Self-confidence also significantly impacted Physical Education academic achievement (r = 0.519, p = 0.000 < 0.05). Conclusion. Better physical fitness enhances students’ self-confidence and positively influences their academic performance in Physical Education.

Implementation of the C4.5 and Naive Bayes Algorithms to Predict Student Graduation

This research aims to determine student graduation using two data mining methods, namely the Naive Bayes Classifier and the C4.5 Algorithm. Research stages include data analysis, data pre-processing, model design in data mining, classification results, method evaluation, and evaluation results. This research uses student data consisting of training data and testing data to evaluate the performance of the two methods in predicting student graduation based on attributes such as attendance scores, behavior scores, Final Semester Examination (UAS) scores, and report card scores. The classification results show significant differences between the two methods. The Naive Bayes Classifier produces predictions that 37 students pass and 17 students do not pass, while the C4.5 Algorithm predicts that 30 students pass and 24 students do not pass. This difference in results indicates that there are differences in the approaches of the two methods to student graduation data, with the Naive Bayes Classifier tending to provide more positive predictions than the C4.5 Algorithm. Evaluation of the performance of the method shows that the Naive Bayes Classifier has an accuracy rate of 100%, which is a perfect result, while the C4.5 Algorithm has an accuracy rate of 89%. This significant difference in evaluation results confirms that the Naive Bayes Classifier is superior in classifying student graduation compared to the C4.5 Algorithm in the context of this research. These findings can help in making decisions regarding student graduation evaluations in the future.

E-training environment for developing Capstone teaching skills for STEM teachers in Egypt

The research investigated the efficacy of utilizing an e-training environment to enhance capstone teaching skills among STEM educators. Conducted at Obour STEM School, Cairo, Egypt, the study employed a quasi-experimental design with 27 randomly selected participants. Three instruments were utilized: a list of Capstone teaching skills, a pre-post achievement test, and an observation card assessing skill acquisition in two main fields: EDP Field and Process Management Field. These fields encompassed eight main skills, subdivided into 64 subskills. The researchers conducted pre- and post-testing, initially administering a 70-question pre-test followed by a month-long online training via Microsoft Teams. The training content aimed to address identified needs based on pre-test results. After the training, participants completed a post-test, which was repeated after another month. Results indicated a statistically significant difference (p<=0.05) between pre-test and post-achievement test scores, favoring the latter, suggesting improvement in Capstone teaching skills. Similarly, there was a significant difference (p<=0.05) between pre-test and post-observation card scores, indicating enhanced skill development. Conclusively, the study demonstrated the effectiveness of e-training, particularly employing the SOLE technique, in enhancing capstone teaching skills among STEM educators. Consequently, the researchers recommended the integration of e-training environments in STEM teacher development programs in Egypt.

Design of Web-based Report Card Processing Information System at MTS Negeri 4 Kebumen

Based on observations made, the processing of report card scores in MTs N 4 Kebumen is currently still manual, so a lot of time and energy is needed to carry out the task. In addition, the distribution of report cards is also still conventional because parents must come to school to take them, for this reason, a report card application is needed that can improve services to students quickly in terms of distributing report card scores while making it easier for teachers to fill in report cards. The purpose of this study is to design a web-based value processing application. In designing this application, the author uses the stages of SDLC development with the Waterfall process model. The design of this web-based report card processing information system can improve the quality of report card processing in MTs N 4 Kebumen. The programming language that the author uses is PHP and uses a MySQL database. To test the feasibility of the system, the authors used blak bock testing. The final result of this research is the creation of a web-based MTs N 4 Kebumen report card application.

Educational Leadership Capacity Building Program in Decision Making through CIVI Leadership Model

The condition of education in Indonesia after the pandemic experienced is getting learning loss or setbacks. The results of the INOVASI study found that early grade students in Indonesia experienced an indication of loss of learning outcomes equivalent to 0.47 standard deviation/sd (or 6 months of learning). This figure is much higher than in the United States (0.14) or China (0. 22). The independent curriculum is the main alternative offered by the government to catch up through driving schools which are pilot projects in implementing this independent curriculum. The implementation of good and appropriate education in schools certainly cannot be separated from the performance of the school principal. This is also a challenge for the government to be able to provide intervention to school principals so that they can become good captains in implementing the independent curriculum. This activity was carried out using the socialization method of the driving school leadership model which was designed based on field studies and relevant literature reviews. Based on the results of the research conducted, there was an increase in understanding, knowledge and skills of private school principals in Sukabumi City in terms of decision making. This is also proven by increasing the education report card scores of educational units within one year. With this activity, it is hoped that school principals will be able to further explore their abilities through Educational Leadership Capacity Building Program

The Relationship of Parental Participation in Learning with Student Achievement on Biology Subjects

Parental participation is a factor that plays a very important role. This is inseparable from the fact that parental participation plays a role in the formation of student attitudes and achievement. This study aims to determine the relationship between parental participation and the learning achievement of Science-Biology grade VII students at SMP Negeri 4 Medan. The type of research used is correlational. The number of samples used was 29 people taken using cluster random sampling. The instruments used are tests and questionnaires. Tests are used to determine student achievement through report card scores and questionnaires are used to determine parental participation in student learning. The data analysis used is Product Moment Correlation analysis. The results showed that there was a strong relationship between parental participation and the achievement of science-biology learning of grade VII students at SMP Negeri 4 Medan with a large influence of 59.31%, and 40.69% influenced by other factors.

Deskripsi Kemampuan Pemahaman Konsep Dalam Menyelesaikan Soal Geometri Berdasarkan Perbedaan Gender

This research to find out to describe the ability to understand concepts of male and female students in class VIII of SMP Negeri 3 Sungguminasa in solving geometry problems. The type of research used is describtive research with a qualitative approach. The subjects in this research was students of class VIII.D SMP Negeri 3 Sungguminasa as many as 2 students, 1 male students and 1 female students who were selected based on the data of the highest report card scores. The instrument used is a concept understanding test and interview guidelines. The results showed that there were differences in the ability to understand concepts between female students and male students with the following descriptions: (1) the ability to understand concepts of female students in the triangle material was able to meet 5 indicators of understanding the concept of interpretting, exemplifying, summarizing, inferring, comparing and not fulfilling 2 indicators of understanding the concept of classifying and explaining. (2) the concept understanding ability of male students in the triangle material is able to meet the 4 indicators of understanding the concept of interpretting, exemplifying, classifying, inferring and not meeting the 3 indicators of understanding the concept of summarizing, comparing, and explaining. Thus it can be said that female students have a better understanding of concepts than male students.

The Influence of Instagram Social Media and Creativity on Learning Outcomes to Design Party Clothes at State 3 Vocational School Manado

This research aims to: 1) Find out the creativity in designing party clothing before using Instagram social media for students in SMK NEGERI 3 Manado. 2) Knowing the creativity in designing party clothes after using social media Instagram for students in SMK NEGERI 3 Manado. 3) Knowing the influence of the use of social media Instagram and creativity on student learning outcomes in designing student party clothing at SMK NEGERI 3 Manado. The sampling technique in the research was a saturated sample consisting of 35 students. Validity The instrument uses this validity with valid results. The reliability of the instrument using Cronbach's Alpha was 0.93 and 0.88. The normality test uses Kolmogorov-Smirnov with values 0.657>0.224 and 2.619>0.224. The linearity test obtained Y=42.886723 and Y=35.05175+0.598818. Hypothesis testing produces P-Value> 0.05 so Ho is accepted and Ha is rejected. Research results show: 1) Creativity in designing party clothes before using Instagram social media was an average of 70 in the less creative category. 2) Creativity in designing party clothes after using social media Instagram averaged 86 in the creative category. 3) The influence of the use of social media Instagram and creativity on student learning outcomes in designing party clothing can be seen in the increase in students' report card scores, which before use averaged 70 and after use averaged 85. Based on the results of the hypothesis test, it was stated that there was an influence.

The Effect of Interpersonal Intelligence on Social Science Learning Outcomes; a Correlational Study of Grade V Students at Tonggalan Muhammadiyah Elementary School

This research is motivated because there are still students getting scores below the KKM. Another problem found is that most students are less familiar with other students. This study aims (1) to determine whether there is an influence of interpersonal intelligence on social studies learning outcomes of fifth grade students of SD Muhammadiyah Tonggalan Klaten District. (2) To determine the percentage of the influence of interpersonal intelligence on social studies learning outcomes of fifth grade students of SD Muhammadiyah Tonggalan Klaten District. This type of research is ex post facto research. The population in this study were all fifth grade students of SD Muhammadiyah Tonggalan Klaten District, totalling 32 students, with total sampling technique. The instrument to measure emotional intelligence is a questionnaire, while the social studies learning outcomes instrument uses report card scores. Data analysis techniques using simple regression analysis. Based on the results showed that there is a significant influence of Interpersonal Intelligence on Social Studies Learning Outcomes of fifth grade students of SD Muhammadiyah Tonggalan Klaten District, with a p-value of 0.000 <0.05. The magnitude of the influence of Interpersonal Intelligence on Social Studies Learning Outcomes in fifth grade students of SD Muhammadiyah Tonggalan Klaten District is 62.10%, while the rest is influenced by other factors of 37.90% outside the study.

You read my mind: Generating and minimizing intention uncertainty under different social contexts in a two-player online game.

We investigate an ecologically pertinent form of social uncertainty regarding the ability to read another's intentions. We use classic measures (response time, accuracy) and dynamic measures (mouse trajectories) to investigate how people generate or minimize uncertainty regarding their own intentions under different social contexts, and how uncertainty regarding other's intentions affects decision making. Ninety-six participants (N = 48 dyads) completed a two-player online card game, where the goal was to collect cards with a certain feature (e.g., triangles), with participant cursor movements projected to both players. Participants played six games, three cooperatively and three competitively (Social Decision Context). Points were awarded for two decisions: collecting a card matching one's goal (ability to achieve personal goal) and correctly guessing the other player's goal (ability to guess intention). Data revealed: (a) Card scores did not vary with Social Decision Context, (b) Guess scores did vary with Social Decision Context, with more correct guesses when cooperating compared to competing, and (c) Mouse trajectories (durations and mouse distance traveled) decreased when cooperating compared to competing. These results indicate that better guessing during cooperative play is not due to explicit communication (i.e., circling desired cards), but may be due to increased speed and confidence when making decisions in a cooperative context. Additionally, participants could be actively hiding their intention in a competitive context. Thus, social uncertainty when reading another's intentions is both adaptive-affected by the prescribed social context, and automatic-indirectly inferred from the way another moves their mouse when acting with intention. Physical Activity and Physical Fitness as Predictors of Students' Physical Education Learning Achievement

This study aims to analyze the relationship between physical activity and physical fitness with students' Physical Education learning achievement both partially and simultaneously. This type of research is quantitative with a correlational approach. The population in the study were junior high school students in Yogyakarta, totaling 125 students. The physical activity instrument is The Physical Activity Questionnaire for Adolescent (PAQ-A) which has been modified. Physical fitness level was measured using the Indonesian Physical Fitness Test for children aged 13-15 years. Learning achievement is based on report card scores. The data analysis technique used is a prerequisite test consisting of normality test, linearity test, while the hypothesis test uses partial and simultaneous tests. The results showed that (1) There is a significant relationship between physical activity and students' Physical Education learning achievement. (2) There is a significant relationship between physical fitness and Physical Education learning achievement of class students. (3) There is a significant relationship between physical activity and physical fitness with students' physical education learning achievement.

Decision Support System for Financial Aid for Underprivileged Students using the TOPSIS Method

The distribution of Financial Aid for Underprivileged Students is considered not to be on target due to the unmeasured selection process. So a decision-making system is needed that can select beneficiaries objectively. This research was conducted to assist the school in determining students who deserve this assistance. The purpose of this research is to build a decision-making system for selecting beneficiaries from poor students by applying the Technique for Order of Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution method. The formulation of the problem is how to build a decision support system using the Technique for Order of Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution method in selecting students who receive financial aid for underprivileged students. The method used goes through several stages, namely: determining alternatives and criteria, building a normalized decision matrix, building a weighted normalized decision matrix, determining positive and negative ideal solutions, determining the distance between ideal solutions, and determining preference values. There are 7 criteria used, namely social protection card recipients, total income, number of dependents, parental status, distance, class, and report card scores. The results showed that the highest preference value for each alternative was in alternative A3, with a score of 0.6665. While the lowest preference value is in alternative A20 with a score of 0.0719, From the results of the study, it was concluded that the Technique for Order of Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution method can be used in making decisions on the selection of beneficiaries of poor students based on preference value rankings.

Penerapan Metode Topsis Untuk Rekomendasi Penetapan Siswa Berprestasi Penerima Penghargaan Tahunan Di Tingkat Sekolah Menengah Pertama

In a school, the ranking of outstanding students is usually only chosen based on their report card scores, as well as in SMP PGRI 16. The selection of outstanding students at SMP PGRI 16 is only based on grades (raport) which are ranked 1 to 3 only. In the selection process there are many opportunities to make wrong decisions because the student selection process is only based on one aspect, namely student scores (raport), while the values of attitudes and achievements obtained outside of school are not taken into consideration as additional criteria for determining students who are considered outstanding and receive annual awards. This means that most likely the selected outstanding students do not reach the desired standard and do not get the best candidates. The purpose of this research is as an alternative way for schools to determine outstanding students so that they are not based solely on academic scores, and there is no cheating in the selection of outstanding students. The method used in this study is the Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (TOPSIS) method. The results of this study are that the TOPSIS method can provide the best results from the criteria and weights that have been determined. From the calculation results with the TOPSIS method, it was obtained by a student named MRF with a preference value of 0.9742

The Relationship between Thinking Patterns and Academic Achievement in the Subject of Social Sciences

This study aims to investigate the relationship between students' thinking patterns and their academic achievement in the subject of Social Sciences. The research methodology involves conducting the Lilliefors Normality Test to ensure the data follows a normal distribution and the Product Moment Correlation Test to analyze the correlation between variables. The sample selection is based on random sampling technique using the Slovin Formula, resulting in a sample size of 32 students. The thinking patterns variable is measured using a questionnaire distributed to the selected students as research respondents, while academic achievement is obtained from the students' report card scores. The analysis results reveal a significant and strong positive relationship between students' thinking patterns and their academic achievement in the 8th grade at SMPN 3 Kota Solok. This finding suggests that students who exhibit favorable thinking patterns are more likely to achieve higher academic performance in Social Sciences. Therefore, it is recommended for educators to pay attention to fostering and enhancing students' thinking patterns to promote better academic outcomes. This study contributes to the existing body of knowledge by providing empirical evidence on the importance of thinking patterns in relation to academic achievement in the field of Social Sciences.

IMPROVING STUDENT LEARNING OUTCOMES IN GRADE VI THROUGH THE INFLUENCE OF EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE AT MADRASAH IBTIDAIYAH NEGERI PARANNAPA JAE, PADANG LAWAS REGENCY, INDONESIA

This research aimed to answer the following questions: (1) What is the level of emotional intelligence of grade VI students at MIN Parannapa Jae? (2) What are the learning outcomes of grade VI students at MIN Parannapa Jae? (3) Is there a significant influence of emotional intelligence on the learning outcomes of grade VI students at MIN Parannapa Jae? The research was conducted using a correlational quantitative approach and ex post facto method. The findings of this study were obtained from the documentation study conducted by the researcher using the students' report cards in grade VI at MIN Parannapa Jae. The highest score obtained was 96, while the lowest score was 78. The report card scores were grouped into 5 classes with a class interval of 4. Based on Table 4.4, the mean score was 84.46, the median was 85, the mode was 80, and the standard deviation and variance were 5.753 and 33.103, respectively.

Evaluation of the School Literacy Movement in Primary Schools

This research aims to evaluate the implementation of a literacy program based on predetermined indicators, with the expectation that the findings will benefit future policy formulation. The research used a qualitative approach, specifically the Context, Input, Process, and Product (CIPP) evaluation. Data collection involved interviews and observations. The School Literacy Movement is a government initiative aimed at improving literacy levels in Indonesia. In the Muaro Jambi District, a primary school serving as an implementer of the School Literacy Movement experienced a decline in literacy education based on educational report card scores. After conducting the research, it was found that the school already had clear goals in the context, but it required additional inputs such as integrating the vision and mission to motivate teachers and students, establishing a School Literacy Team (TLS), implementing Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), and optimizing the use of facilities and resources. In the process, academic supervision and creativity in finding appropriate learning media were still needed, along with personalized guidance for students to identify their learning styles to ensure that the outcomes aligned with the intended goals. The research highlights the importance of various factors in implementing the literacy program, and the findings can contribute to improving future literacy policies in schools.

The Relationship Of Motivation With The Learning Outcames Of Basic Subjects Culinary Basics

This research started from researchers' observations of students of SMK Negeri 3 Solok City, where not a few of them always arrived late and even often missed coming to school, thus affecting their scores and getting low learning outcomes. This study aims to: (1) describe students' learning motivation in basic culinary subjects at SMK Negeri 3 Solok City. (2) describe student learning outcomes in basic culinary subjects at SMK Negeri 3 Solok City. (3) analyze the relationship of student learning motivation in basic culinary subjects. This research uses quantitative descriptive method with a correlational approach. The population of this study was class X Tata Boga students at SMK Negeri 3 Solok City for the 2022/2023 academic year and the research sample was 40 people using simple random sampling. Data were collected using a research instrument in the form of a learning motivation questionnaire consisting of 39 positive statements and 13 negative statements and student learning outcomes data using first semester report card scores. The results showed that (1) Student learning motivation in Basic – Basic Culinary subjects as a whole was in interval classes in the moderate category with a total of 14 respondents (35 %), while (2) Learning outcomes of Basic subjects – Basic Culinary based on first semester report card scores are in interval classes in the high category with a total of 20 people (50%) of students getting low scores. Only 2 people (5%) students get high scores. (3) Furthermore, the normality analysis test of the data obtained is normally distributed with a value of 0.853 > 0.05, while the linearity analysis of the data obtained is linear distributed with a value of 0.819 > 0.05. The correlation test showed that 0.489 of the medium category corresponds to the interpretation value of r. The significance value is known to be 0.001 < 0.05, which means that there is a significant positive relationship between the learning motivation variable and learning outcomes. The results of the t test showed that the known calculated t value of 3,458 thus t count > t table (3,458 > 1,684) statistically then Ho was rejected and Ha was accepted, meaning that the first hypothesis in the study was accepted..
