Two rare diseases, idiopathic dilatation of the common bile duct (choledochus cyst) and hepatic carcinoma, found in the same youth, are a unique combination. No similar case studies have been described or referred to in the medical literature. The coexistence of these abnormalities of the biliary system suggests that the choledochus cyst was the precursor of the malignancy of the liver.A complete report of such a case with autopsy observations is presented.CASE REPORTFirst admission (July 16, 1943 to August 13, 1943).
