Books of Ukraine in the mirror of the state bibliography

In modern society, with the rapid growth of the importance of information, its constant updating and rapid access to information resources comes to the fore the problem of orientation to provide an opportunity to navigate the general flow of domestic printed products. An important and socially significant element of the book business is the index "Chronicle of Books", which contains comprehensive bibliographic information about books and brochures from all fields of knowledge. The bibliographic analysis of the database of the state bibliography of book editions "Chronicle of books" provides an idea of current trends in the development of the book publishing industry, science and culture. The proposed analytical review demonstrates the thematic distribution of publications in the database for 2021, which contains 15 390 bibliographic records according to UDC classes

Historiography of Book Distribution in Siberian-Far Eastern Region (Soviet, Post-Soviet Periods)

The problems of book distribution are less developed in comparison with other branches of book business. In most works, book distribution was not the subject of an independent comprehensive study, but was considered in generalizing works as an element of book business, book culture, book business of a particular region in different historical periods, or its individual aspects were the subject of study. Based on chronological and conceptual approaches, the article summarizes historiographical information on the main aspects of the functioning of channels for the sale of printed products in the Siberian-Far Eastern region in the Soviet and post-Soviet periods. The article describes the historiography of the problem within the framework of encyclopedic, scientific and educational publications; characterizes the contribution of individual book scholars to the development of problems; summarizes the aspect studies of book distribution; describes regional historical and book studies. The purpose of the article is to analyze the available historiographical array on the problem, the tasks are to determine the directions of research that have become traditional; to identify the least studied issues for their further study. The relevance and importance of the conducted historiographical analysis are determined, on the one hand, by the insufficient theoretical elaboration of the topic, the lack of fundamental research, in general, the importance of a comprehensive generalization and analysis of disparate and fragmentary general and applied research and materials; on the other hand, the need to identify patterns and features, problems and trends in the development of book distribution, due to its important role in the promotion of the book and reading, in the development of infrastructure for reading the region and the country as a whole. The author comes to the conclusion that despite the large number of publications, they do not form a holistic view on the book distribution in the region as an important part of the book business and an element of the infrastructure for reading

Wealth management requires a 360-degree compliance programme

While the tsunami of regulation following the 2008 financial crisis has receded, compliance for wealth management companies continues to grow more complex. In recognition of the difficulty of meeting evolving standards and obligations, the US Government now offers incentives to companies that adopt technical solutions. RegTech that surfaces issues in a timely manner and holistically across an institution’s book of business is seen as directly correlated with transparency and accountability. It is also good business. Today’s solutions empower companies to streamline account management, reduce risk, lower cost and strengthen client relationships. The author shares best practices and important questions to consider when designing and implementing a 360-degree compliance programme. The key to success is synergy among people, processes and technology. Successful compliance starts with stakeholders across the front, middle and back offices. With guidance and best practices gained from interactions with regulators, consultants and technology providers, the company establishes the procedures to ensure the programme properly addresses its investment management business and its regulatory risk. With the right people and procedures in place, thoughtful RegTech serves as the glue that enables proactive, efficient, 360-degree compliance. With the breadth of data and volume of regulations that companies contend with today, a 360-degree compliance technology platform should employ comprehensive and accurate data; exception-driven rules to eliminate false positives; well-designed workflows that distribute tasks logically across the front, middle and back offices; and efficient oversight tools. Technology cannot replace sound, human-driven policies and procedures but when combined with customer relations and portfolio management into a 360-degee programme, RegTech provides vital protection against regulatory, operational and reputational risks and gives investment managers an understanding of their businesses they could never achieve before. This paper discusses the evolution of 360-degree compliance programmes and share best practices for designing and implementing them. It analyses how, when applied across all investable accounts and business segments, technology can transform compliance from a reactive to a proactive process.

Reading region. Book in the life of contemporaries: results of the IV International Book Forum

In October, 1–2, in Novosibirsk, within the frameworks of the International Festival «Book Siberia», the IV International Book Forum «Reading Region. Book in the life of contemporaries» took place. Basic themes of the discussion were: the state and tendencies of the modern native book market; mechanisms of developing the infrastructure for reading; progress in the country and in the regions; support for child’s and young people’ reading; modern state of book business in foreign countries and etc. The article presents the results of the forum.

This book review intends to review the content of the book while directly connecting how the information applies to our work as student activities practitioners. The review contains a description of the book published in the jubilee series dedicated to the 200th anniversary of the writer, named “Sources and methods in the study of F. M. Dostoevsky’s legacy in Russian and world culture.” The collective monograph “Problems of the textual journalism of Dostoevsky (1873–1881)” edited by T. V. Panyukova presents the results of a study of “A Writer’s Diary” and the materials of the newspaper-magazine “The Citizen.” The research is based on archival work, which determines the nature of the results obtained by the compilers: new archival documents have been introduced into scientific circulation, in some cases the history of already known and published materials, their attribution has been clarified. Additions to the book have independent value. In the first of them, materials from A. G. Dostoevskaya’s business books are published for the first time. In conjunction with other materials, they can be useful for attribution and commenting on sources. The second addition contains a chronological attributed description of the “Citizen” for the period of Dostoevsky’s editorship, prepared on the supplemented material of the “Chronicles of the Life and Work of F. M. Dostoevsky”.

Računovodstveno merenje nematerijalne aktive primenom VAIC tm modela

Facilitated and stimulated transfer of knowledge, primarily due to digital technology and globalization, enabled subjects in the economy to actively use it in order to achieve success in business. The company's portfolio becomes enriched with resources or assets whose main substantial element is knowledge. However, knowledge is not easy to track and include in business books. Due to the fact that it cannot be seen or touched, additional efforts have been made by researchers to develop a quality accounting methodology. In addition to the fact that in the context of accounting, knowledge is qualified as an intangible asset, the methodology of financial accounting has been improved, and various models of its measurement have been offered in the literature. In particular, the VAIC model for measuring the efficiency of using intangible assets stands out in the literature.

Factors Impact on Stocks Repurchase of Enterprises Listed on the Stock Market of Vietnam Period of 2015-2019

The report assessed the stock repurchase activities of companies listed on the Vietnamese stock market in 2015 - 2019. The article uses Tobit's regression model and FEM - Fixed Effect Model regression model. To determine the motivation of the business to buy back, build a model based on the existing models to evaluate the impact of the share buyback on the enterprise's business performance. The research results show that the sharing repurchase by enterprises lowers valuation or reduces the cost of free cash flow and capital structure of the enterprise. It will determine the repurchase of shares of that enterprise; Along with that, the company's stock repurchase will pay fewer dividends. With the impact of stock repurchases on the enterprise's business performance, the results show that stock repurchases have potential implications for future earnings and the profitability ratios on the business books.

ШЕДЕВРИ ВІТЧИЗНЯНОЇ КУЛЬТУРНОЇ СПАДЩИНИ У КУРСІ ЛЕКЦІЙ З ІСТОРІЇ УКРАЇНСЬКОЇ КУЛЬТУРИ: ПЕРЕСОПНИЦЬКЕ ЄВАНГЕЛІЄ

The main objective of this article is to study the problem of presenting a unique cultural monument of Ukraine - the Peresopnytsia Gospel of 1556 - in a course of lectures on the history of Ukrainian culture for students majoring in Cultural Studies at Mariupol State University. The author focuses on those components of the history of the creation, use, and preservation of this unique monument of national cultural heritage that found their place in the course of lectures, which should form a sense of respect and reverence for national relics in future students majoring in cultural studies. The appearance of the Peresopnytsia Gospel coincides with the development of Renaissance culture on the Ukrainian territory, but with special national characteristics. Thanks to this, the teachers of the department have a great opportunity to comprehensively illustrate to students a certain era in the history of Ukrainian culture on its example, in particular, the development of theological thought and literature, book business, art, book miniatures. After the declaration of Ukraine's independence, the Peresopnytsia Gospel rightfully acquired the status of a national-state and political symbol - during the inauguration, the presidents of Ukraine swear on the manuscript, promising to be faithful not only to the Ukrainian people, but also to God. This issue is of particular importance in the dramatic present of Russia's military aggression against Ukraine, when, on the example of the Peresopnytsia Gospel, national cultural heritage is an important factor in the patriotic education of student youth. In the words of Bill Gates, “unlike most books on leadership, this one is worth the time”. He has already suggested it to several friends and colleagues, including Satya Nadella.

How the Library of D.V. Ulyaninsky Entered the State Rumyantsev Museum

Based on the unpublished documents, the author reconstructs the history of acquisition of the famous book collection of D.V. Ulyaninsky (1861—1918) by the State Rumyantsev Museum. The well-selected library, significant part of which consisted of publications on bibliography, book studies and book business, became widely known thanks to the three-volume printed catalogue prepared by the owner.After the suicide of bibliophile in February 1918, which occurred due to the threat of deprivation of the apartment where the library was kept, the collection was bought by the State Rumyantsev Museum. Archival documents allow examining this process in detail. During his life, D.V. Ulyaninsky had extensive connections with the oldest museum in Moscow, but he clearly had no plans to transfer or sell his library to the institution. After his tragic death, the State Rumyantsev Museum first moved his library to the museum’s territory. Then, despite the presence of third-party buyers, the museum actually forced the widow of the collector T.F. Ulyaninskaya to sell the library, taking into account the circumstance that the library located in her apartment. The organizer of the actions on acquisition of the D.V. Ulyaninsky book collection was the librarian of the State Rumyantsev Museum Y.V. Gauthier; and the Head of the reading room Y.G. Kvaskov assessed the collection. The article introduces into scientific circulation the materials on assessment of the library and the contract of the State Rumyantsev Museum with the widow of bibliophile, which legally secured the transfer of ownership of the collection of D.V. Ulyaninsky to the State Rumyantsev Museum.

MISSION OF CULTURAL SERVICE: ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT THAT TRAINS INFORMATION SPECIALISTS (to the 50th anniversary of VP «Nikolaev branch of KNUCA)

Purpose of the Article. The research raises questions of history and generalization of experience of preparation of experts of information sphere in the Separate division «The Nikolaev branch of the Kyiv national university of culture and arts». The methodology of the study were methods of analysis, synthesis, comparative history, and retrospective, which allowed to study the history of the Department of Information, Library, and Archival Affairs for 50 years. The scientific novelty of the work is that for the first time the history of the departments that trained information specialists (librarians and documentologists) was comprehensively studied. Conclusions. The Mykolaiv Educational School of Library and Documentation which was the only one in the South of Ukraine for many decades has extensive experience in training information specialists and occupies a leading place in the half-century history of the Mykolaiv Branch of the Kyiv National University of Culture and Arts. The department, which trains specialists in the field of information, makes a significant contribution to the scientific development of problems of the documentary, history of library and book business, customer service. The department celebrates its anniversary at a new stage of its development, implementing new projects, startups, forms of work with students in a transformational educational environmentwhile maintaining a high professional level. Белозерские монастыри в кризисные годы (1570–1610-е гг.)

Introduction. The article examines the situation of the monasteries of the Belozersk region in the last quarter of the 16th century – the first decade of the 17th century: regional manifestation of crisis phenomena, the reasons for their occurrence, the degree of influence of individual factors (epidemic, famine, foreign invasion). Methods and materials. The topic is disclosed using the methods of historical research (analysis, synthesis, external and internal criticism of documents). The source base was made up of acts and monastic business books, including inventory of property. Analysis. In the last quarter of the 16th century – the first decade of the 17th century the Russian state was going through a deep crisis, which was observed in all aspects of the life of Russian society: political, dynastic, economic and social; it was intensified by the great famine of 1601–1603. During these years monasteries remained centers of economic stability, providing the brethren, servants, ministers and beggars with the necessary products and household items. In the years of famine, grain from the monastic granaries was “loaned” to the peasants for consumption and sowing. The devastation of the monastic economy and the physical destruction of the population began in the Time of Troubles. As a result, the authors came to the following conclusions: the crisis of the last quarter of the 16th century and the Great Famine of the early 17th century did not lead to degradation and disruption of the traditional way of life in the region; the destruction of Belozersk monasteries begins in 1612 and continues until 1618; only the Kirillov Monastery, headed by Abbot Matthew, was able to organize the defense and protect the fortress, preserving the Cyril’s heritage from the Polish-Cossack plunder.

Online Sales and Bookkeeping with Improved Apps and Online Content

This community service activity aims to guide the community on making online sales and making business books using applications. The approach method offered to support community service program activities is a participatory method in which partners are directly involved in implementing actions from preparation to performance of these activities. The form of exercise is holding meetings in simple accounting bookkeeping training for businesses using applications and counseling about online sales. The type of output that will be generated based on the activity plan in community service is in the form of a module containing how to do simple accounting books for businesses using applications and how to make online sales by increasing online content and strategies for selling online to be able to increase sales income.

Hedging the Price Risk Inherent in Revenue Protection Insurance

AbstractCrop revenue insurance is unique, because it involves a guarantee subsuming yield risk and highly systematic price risk. This study examines whether crop insurers could use options instead of, or in addition to, assigning policies to the Commercial Funds of the USDA Federal Crop Insurance Corporation (FCIC) as per the Standard Reinsurance Agreement (SRA) to hedge the price risk of revenue insurance policies. The behavioral model examines the optimal hedge ratio for a crop insurer with a book of business consisting of corn Revenue Protection (RP) policies. Results show that a mix of put and call options can hedge the price risk of the RP policies. The higher optimal hedge ratios of call options as compared to put options imply that the risk of increased liability due to upside price risk can be hedged using options better than downside price risk. This study also analyzed the combination of options with the SRA at 35, 50, and 75% retention levels. The zero optimal hedge ratios at each retention level and the negative correlation between RP indemnities and the option returns when the crop insurer mixed options and SRA suggest that the purchasing of options provides no additional risk protection to crop insurers beyond what is provided by the SRA despite retention limits.

Review of the book: Stolyarov Yu. Rubakin revisited / Yury N. Stolyarov: Russian School Library Association ; Librarianship Department of the International Informatization Academy ; Russian State Library ; Research Center of Book Culture Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences ; National Library of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia). – Moscow : RUSLA, 2019. – 416 p., ill.The reviewer emphasizes the importance of the reviewed book, as Nicholas Rubakin’s work of researcher and educator, has not been studied comprehensively yet. The publication coincides with Rubakin’s 160-th anniversary. The reviewer characterizes the book structure and the contents of its five chapters: “The Life”, “The Foreign Native”, “The Focus of N. A. Rubakin’s Creative Interests”, “Bibliopsychological Portraits”, and “The Author of Integral Philosophy”.Yu. N. Stolyarov characterizes Nicholas Rubakin as a science communicator, expert of self-education and (kids) reading guidance and, most of all, as a founder of bibliopsychological theory. The reviewer examines the key works by Rubakin for each of the above-mentioned areas, e.g. “The secret of library work success”, “What the bibliological psychology is”, The Psychology of readers and books”, “Importance of the books”, “On the methodology of the book business”, “The book market in Soviet Russia and its psychology”. The reviewer makes a focus on Rubakin’s masterwork –“Among books” and on Stolyarov’s footnotes that expand the book text and reader knowledge, and points to the book design.

PERKEMBANGAN EKONOMI KREATIF DALAM MENOPANG PEREKONOMIAN RAKYAT DI MASA PANDEMI COVID 19 (Studi Kualitatif Di 5 Penerbitan Independen)

The creative economy becomes the major survivor and its growth increased during the COVID19 pandemic. Several sectors in the industry that prioritize creativity and art are increasing in demand. An example is the independent book publishing business, although it is still a micro, small and medium scale business, the business of publishing books through independent channels is increasingly in demand by writers to publish their books in this UMKM scale publisher. On the one hand, readers are also enlivening e-books, aka more and more fond of reading books through online applications. In contrast to the development of this independent publication, several major publishers with retail networks throughout Indonesia were forced to deactivate their outlets during the pandemic, due to the PSBB policy. Therefore, this research focuses on how the creative economy, in this case independent publishing, is able to support the people's economy during the pandemic.
